Questions on few quality management topics

Hi Sapiens,
I am SD consultant and new to QM, I have been task to record mulitple assay results in system. So, I am implementing the QM module here. I have got few questions, so kindly take sometime and send your valuable answers.
1) Can we have many inspection lots for 1 batch of Material.
In the present scenario, the client is selling only one material which will have only 1 batch. So, If the client want to do inspections at different times or more than ones, how can I record all those results.
Because, the client wanted to see the average results of the inspected material.
2) If Inspection Type = 10, Can I execute QE71 Tcode, I was going through SAP std document, I found that initially Inspection type = 8, is used, with that Insp ty, the QE51N and QVM3 Tcodes were executed. But during QE71, Insp ty = 2 has been used. So, I wanted to get the confirmation whether I can execute QE71, using Insp type = 10.
3)After the Usage decision is made, Can I see the quality results in all the inspection lot(s) in any Tcode.I found that after Usage decision been made, the inspection lot is disappearing from QVM3 tcode.
Your inputs on the above questions will be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Kumar

Hi Hari,
Thanks for your interest in resolving this issue.
Let me know tell you the actual requirement before going to the issue.
The requirement is simple, the client wanted the Multiple Quality assay results for material after delivery of goods.
They only wanted to record various assay results (like Customer, Supplier, Discharge port etc).
This includes the multiple quality recordings during dispatching the material to customer for ex: at discharge port, they do the quality recordings of the same material with same inspection lot but mulitple recordings (I understand this will achieve through Inspection points)
The reason for mulitple recordings is, they wanted to have the track of the previous results, currently they are recording these results in Material Batch (through configurable material), but in that they cann't maintain all the quality results.
This is for after sales Delivery is created.
So, I have used Inspection type - 10, and created Sample procedures for SPC characteristics and normal.
Earlier when I configured I use to go upto results recording but when I am try to configure Inspection points, I am not even able to do the QE51N transaction also. Now, I want to record resuls in QE51N for multiple time for same inspection lot, Do the Usage decision and QE71 for Surveyor, Supplier and Customer results. Also, when the user want to see the batch update in BMBC, they should able to view the data.
If you can tell me, what all points I have to configure like check list with Tcodes, then It will be very great help.
Thanks for your response.

  • Basic quality management

    Hi All,
I have very very basic question regarding SAP quality management. Can anybody explain me how system determines
Which inspection type to use, .
    which inspection plan to use,
which sampling procedure to use &
how the system calculates the sample size. &
who the link will be established between these objects.
I have business knowledge, but I donu2019t have any knowledge how it works in sap, Pleas help me.
    Regards,

I think that you have had your question answered so if you are happy with this can you please award points if you want to but mainly can you please mark your question as answered so that it is easier to navigate around the open questions in the forum as the number of pages are growing and growing and it takes too long to go through everything expecially if a satisfactory answer has already been given and people like me who want to help will give up and so some people may not get any help.
    Thanks for this

  • Quality Manager Deskop application recording tab

Dears, I have installed a Quality Manager, a contact centre, and a CUCM, and i have the following problem:
While running the quality manager Desktop application, I can see recordings in the archive tab for all agents, but on the recording tab i can only view some of them:
I checked the troubleshooting guide, and i noticed the following problem:
    Problem:
In QM Desktop, an agent's recordings show up in the Archives tab but do not appear on the Recordings tab.
    Solution:
The agent is not part of a workflow. Agents must be part of a workflow in order for their recordings to appear on the Recordings tab. Their recordings do show up on the Archives tab as long as archiving is enabled.
In my case i am assigning a team to a group, and the same team is assigned to the workflow. And the recordings of some agents of this team are seen in the recording tab while others are not. When i go to the workflow i see that the team is assigned to the workflow, my question is that how can i check that each individual agent is a part of the workflow?
And how can i make all agents appear in the recording tab?
    Please help,
    regards,
    Moustafa

    Hi JT,
Thanks for the reply, but actualy it was me (Regi) who ask the questions
I have a few questions about your reply :
    a) Recording desktop logs in WFO_QM\logs (im assuming this is endpoint recording) to see if those recording are tagged for both Quality & Archive reason. If its not marked for Quality then you'll need to check your configuration again.
Q: Yes I'm using endpoint recording. Do you know what log file and entry I should look for ? Because there are some different log files and each contains a lot of entries. Or can you lead me to a guide in Cisco about this ?
    b) If its marked for Quality, check ProgramFiles\CommonFiles\SQM\recordings\daily to see if there are any files (*raw) in there. The file size should be increasing when the recording is on going. You should only see current day recording files.
Q: Is the files for Archive Recording should the appear in this folder ? Because right now I'm away from the server and still haven't got the chance to check on this.
    c) By default, the recording files should be transferred into storage location at 6pm each day (default location ProgramFiles\CommonFiles\QM\recordings\audio). If the recording files are not in this folder, then it will not appear in the Recording tab. There could be an issue with the uploading process
Q: The recording files exist only in the audio folder but not in the video folder (FYI, I also configure QM for Screen Recording).
Thanks again for the help, JT.

    Regi

  • Quality Management - Removing old agents

    Hi all,
Having an issue with Quality Management. Is it possible to remove to remove an agent that is no longer active from the Quality Management system? I notice that the admin docs for QM say that once an agent has been configured they can't be removed, just unlicenced. The problem we have is the reports in Quality Management Desktop still list this agent. The agent in question has been removed everywhere else in the system (CUCM, UCCX etc) but is still appearing in QM. Is this the expected behavior, or are we doomed to have an ever increasing list of inactive agents?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jason

    Hi
Well - the recordings are uploaded on a schedule, yes... the schedule basically says 'at off peak hours, that I have defined, upload at a high rate', and 'during peak hours that I have defined, upload at a limited number of recordings per hour'.
There's no guarantee that the upload won't overload your agents' web connection while it is uploading, even though there will be fewer uploads per hour.
In theory you could disable in-hours uploading and rely on out-of-hours/off peak times to get the recordings uploaded. However it would be difficult to enforce that people at home will leave their PCs running and connected in the evening to upload the recordings.
In terms of support; the manual for 2.7 suggests VPN software clients are not supported:
Remote Agent RequirementsAgents who do not work onsite are supported in these situations:■They connect to the network via a Cisco 831 or 871 router and use a supported IP phone.
In previous versions (pre 2.6), IP Communictor was not supported for remote workers.
Finally, if you do go down this route there are no guarantees that you will get good service/voice quality. You will probably be at the mercy of as many different ISPs as agents, and that's not a position I'd want to be in as either you or one of your contact center customers...

  • Quality Management During Goods Receipt (Inspection Lot)

    Hi all,

    I have a requirement that i need to write an interface program which will receive a file from external agency (manufacturer) and process goods receipt until inspection results. The following steps need to be taken care of;
    1) Create a equipment (Utilities - It is an unique identifier for each unit of the material).
    2) Do Goods Receipt for the PO with the equipment numbers created.
    3) Create Inspection Lot for the material document created during the GR for each equipment number.
    4) Execute Inspection Result.

Called BAPI to create Goods Receipt.
Inspection Lot Settings to create lots during MIGO
    1) New Inspection Type Created as SG1 at SPRO->QM->Quality Inspection->Inspection Lot Creation->Maintain Inspection types. The maintenance is a copy of type 01.
    2) Assign Inspection Type to Lot Origin at SPRO->QM->Quality Inspection->Inspection Lot Creation->Maintain Inspection Lot Origins and Assign Inspection Types. SG1 is maintained against lot origin 01 with variant 01.
    3) Set Default values for SG1 at SPRO->QM->Quality Inspection->Inspection Lot Creation->Define Default Values for Inspection Type with parameters same as for 01.
    4) In Material master for the record set the inspection setup in the quality management tab. put SG1 as active and preferred. Also set Post to insp Stock, Insp with task list, Auto Assign, Skips allowed, Serial Numbers poss, Control Insp lot as For each Material Doc Item.
I have to kow how to select the Inspection Plan for the lot and thus set the status of lot to released and get it ready for results.
I also have BAPI ready for Inspection Result.

I have tested it and was working fine till last thursday. I have the above mentioned settings even now in the system. Can there be anything else which the functional consultants would have change that affected the process. For your info, I am working mostly on Utilities and so do not have much idea about the quality management stuff.

if we activate Control Key for Quality Management in Procurement in material master then wether we need also store a control key at the plant level for quality management in procurement.
I am not clear about your question. But I guess you want to know about control key function. You activate "proc. asctive" box in QM view of material master, that is always at plant level. When you activate this, system automatically asks for a control key & cert type, thats mandatory field.

  • UCCX Advanced Quality Management with VMware View

    Hi,
I have a customer who uses UCCX 8.5 with VMware View clients running CAD and 7940 IP phones.
They are looking at recording options and have expressed an interest in the Advanced Quality Management product.
There are a few issues that I would need to consider specific to their environment.
The first is that Desktop based recording would not work in this environment as CAD is running on a virtual desktop rather than a PC daisy chained to the IP phone. The second is that network based recording is not supported as the 7940 phones do not have a Built in Bridge.
This leaves server based recording which uses SPAN port mirroring. The issue with this is that the agents phones are distributed across multiple Catalyst switches so I guess I would need to configure RSPAN - has anyone got any experience of using Cisco QM with RSPAN? - if yes how well did it work? - the customer would probably be willing to upgrade the IP phones used by the agents if that would be a better option.
The final query relates to the Screen Recording Client - the install guide details how to install this on a Citrix server but makes n mention of VMware view. Does anyone know if support for this is on the roadmap?
    Thanks!

    Hi James
I've done an RSPAN deployment with UCCX recording which I presume will have similar gotchas...
The only issue I had was that I ham fisted an RSPAN config in that SPANned the VVLAN on all the edge switches. My mistake was that I didn't exclude the uplink ports, and these switches were stacked, so there was a lot of packet duplication initially (sounds like 90s dance music time stretching).
If you ensure you SPAN ingress only on all the endpoints (i.e. phones, and gateways) and then exclude any ports where traffic might be seen a second time (e.g. switch uplinks), and then filter for the voice VLAN  you should be OK.
This deployment was a routed LAN with different subnets on each edge stack but this worked OK with everything running through a single RSPAN session back to the server.
I've not had the good fortune to have to do this more than a couple of times, and I've not done it for AQM  - but assuming that SPAN/RSPAN are supported along with the video recording part running on the endpoints I don't see it being too different as they seem to be written by the same people.
Can't help re: VMware view either I'm afraid...

  • Quality Manager - Clearing Unscored Call recordings

Probably a very basic question, but unfortunately I'm not yet familiar with this product.
Some of our supervisors wish to clear out a backlog of "Unscored" recordings from the list in Quality Management Desktop, so that they can start with a clean slate the following week.
Can anyone advise how to do this? I've searched documentation and googled but haven't had much luck.

    Hi
The unscored reports will eventually disappear.
You set different retention periods for scored and unscored recordings in the admin tool.
The idea is that you might for example set:
    2 weeks for unscored
    1 week for scored
Then your scored recordings would disappear after being available for a week for review, and the unscored ones will be around longer to allow time to get round to scoring them.
The scores are then kept on file (along with answers to the rating questions etc) for reporting purposes.
The retention periods are configured on the Workflow in QM Desktop Administrator...

  • A Quality report as a tool for the Quality management of Web services

    Hi everybody,
I would like to explain and discuss my current research project with you:
The differentiation from competitors is crucial for the economic success of a product. This differentiation can be achieved in addition to price and the date of the market entry through the product quality. To differentiate the quality of products, it is necessary to distinguish between several relevant product characteristics, to determine their values, to evaluate these values and to relate this evaluation to the evaluation of other products. Techniques for the determination of the quality of a product are used in many areas of the quality management, e.g. in the quality assessment.
Web Services are software systems supporting a machine-machine interaction over a network. Web services are often used as modules in different software architectures, especially in Service-oriented architectures (SOA).
In the course of quality management of a Web service applied in software consequently needs appropriate procedures and quality models as means to determine the quality. As there is a lack, research is needed in this field.
In order to eliminate the described deficit, a procedure is to develop that helps to determine the quality of a Web service. A report is conceivable which integrates all relevant views, all influences on the quality and all phases of the life cycle of a Web services.
During the research a lot of similarities between Life cycle assessments of environmental management and the quality management have been identified. These similarities include e.g. principles, procedures and the terminology. Since the Life cycle assessments relate on the product life cycle, on the stakeholders and on all relevant product characteristics, an adaption of the method on the quality management of software seems to be promising.

I would like to answer the following two research questions:
    - Is it possible to adapt the principles and procedures of Life cycle assessment and Sustainability reporting to the quality management of Web services?
    - Is a quality report based on these findings an appropriate tool for quality management?
Do you have any experiences with the quality management of Web services? Which procedures do you use to determine the quality of Web services? How are your experiences with that procedures? Where are their weaknesses?

  • Question on installing Access Manager 2005Q4

    Hello everyone,
I have a question on installing access manager. It looks like access manager has to be installed into a web server running as root. The install program even warns you and gives you the option to fix it. After install does access manager still have to run as root, or can the web servers owner and group be changed back to webserved:webserved.
It would be nice not to have to run the web server as root just to have access manager working.
Also if it is possible to change the owner, could somebody point me to some directions to make sure I do it correctly.
    Thanks for your help,
    Gary

Is it possible to have the ldap servers running on port 389 and the web server running on port 80.One way you can do this (if you are on Solaris 10) is to use RBAC with a user in the net_privaddr role. See http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/features/articles/least_privilege.html for more information.
If a person already has an installed version as root, can it be changed to a non root user, or would it be just to much of a nightmare to do.That's what the doc describes how to do. Should not be a big problem but you might have to make a few adjustments depending on how far you've already gone with the install and config.
Does the ldap server and web server having to be running as the same user? No, you can use separate users.

    David

  • Quality Management -- OS licenses

    All,
My Customer has a question regarding their QM purchase--
They require  OS license (Windows Server 2003) and a SQL Server license (2005) for Quality Management.  We are currently deploying Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 for all new installations.  Are these more current versions of the software supported?  If not, when will they be?
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks
    Pratibha

Officially the documentation states WIndows 2003 and SQL 2005.  But our Cisco Engineer confirmed that Windows 2008 support was "just added".  Still SQL 2005 though.  But with Windows 2008 you'll need to manually install JTAPI (due to increased security).
