Really Crooked That Apple Cuts off OS 10.4 itune download - ****** off!
I recently bought an iPhone 4 that was actually working with my current 10.4.11 OS system transfering video and photos. Then suddenly Apple realized I had an Iphone and demanded I download the latest iTunes. I've been using iTunes 8.0 for a very long time now. I attempted to download the latest iTunes only for it to tell me my G5 Tower's operating system won't allow it.
That stinks and I'd like to submit a formal complaint to Apple that it obviously has the capability in its iTunes software for OS 10.4.11 to allow me to transfer data with my 4.0 Iphone. Apple sent a code to disarm the old itunes which was a very old version from doing so.
Apple deliberately blocked my ability to use an Iphone with a G5 Tower I paid $2,400 for in 2006. I think that stinks and I'm placing a formal complaint herein this is crooked discriminatory activity of those without an Intel Chip MAC.

My recent experience demonstrates disallowing the Iphone's 4's access to OS 10.4 is done from a code Apple sends, not because the iTunes software is incapable of connecting. In an apparent glitch, Apple allowed my iPhone to upload information, videos and photos, to my G5 Tower system. The second time I was asked to download the latest iTunes software proving it isn't that they didn't make any more software to work with the OS 10.4 system, but that they have deliberately disallowed it.
Apple seems a very cruel company to force OS 10.4 non-Intel computer customers to download the latest iTunes only to then flash a message after downloading the entire software that my system does not support it. That is cruel and I'd like to say Steve Jobs seems to be a real a-hole to allow this betrayal of his customers as such.
I was thinking about how extremely harsh that is for Apple to treat it's G5 Tower computer purchasers who paid a couple thousand of dollars for their system, punishing them for not upgrading to the Intel system. You buy a nice computer and expect to use it for years but Apple always finds a way to make its machines obsolete in too short a time. I wasted a huge amount of money over the years learning the hard way Apple just wants you to continually buy new technology and has no loyalty to its customers whatsoever. Its G4 tower when it came out was the biggest rip-off I've ever had in my life.
It's like getting screwed hard up the *** by a company that has ZERO regard for it's loyal customers. You have to be into kinky S&M to keep coming back to Apple for its next hard painful lesson.

Is it really true that Final Cut Express cannot import full HD footage?
I have seen a comment on the Apple store website for Final Cut Express saying that FCE cannot import 1940 1080/ 60i/24p/30p frame rates, converting them to a degraded 1440 1080 14p instead!
I have bought a Canon HF100 on Ebay, and it is shipping from Canada to Britain by surface mail, so I have a few weeks to sort out my editing software. I was planning to buy FCE, but when I saw that comment I was surprised to think Apple haven't got a leading edge program for editing HD footage, which is the coming thing. I have trawled through all the posts in this forum, but with my head spinning I am still not sure what FCE can do.
So in desperation I am asking for a simple answer from someone: can I import the best quality footage I will shoot on this camera and retain that quality in FCE, or do I have to look for another program? "A good question! You are quite right, UK frame rates are 25p and 50i. This used to be an issue with analogue cameras with NTSC vs PAL, but with HD, it is no detriment at all, in fact it is an advantage. Firstly, it means you get more frames per second, so you get less blurring with fast moving objects and have more raw material to work with; secondly, HD TV's will automatically recognise the format and play the footage with no issue; finally, if you do need to output at 25p or 50i, any decent editing package will convert the frame rate. A quick bit of maths shows that a long GOP under 25/50 is 0.6s long, whereas under 30/60, it is only 0.5s. I import the clips into the PC, edit them, render into a single file, then use Nero 9 (the only software currently able to do this) to create an AVCHD folder back on the camera, so that the finished film can be played out in glorious full HD using the HDMI port. I'm not really clear on what he is saying with regards to showing the footage... can only play it via the camera? Means cannot burn DVD? Uploading to Facebook not an issue?

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, clicking here and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

Apple is suppose to be the pinnacle of usability and, yet, I want to throw my new IPhone 4s as far as I can and watch is smash into a million pieces on concrete. Seriously, I've already got three things that irritate the **** out of me. First, there are Apple apps that insist on playing sound even though the sound is turned off. If I flick a switch to turn the sound off, I want the sound off!!!! Second, if I do not want a totally unnecessary feature like Game Center, I should be able to disable it. I completed most of the Angry Bird levels with 2 or 3 stars and now I have to start over from square one. Maybe, this happened when I upgraded to the 4s but it sure seemed to happen when I joined Game Center. Tomorrow, I am going to reset my 4s to factory defaults to try to get rid of my Game Center account. I don't want Game Center! I do need Game Center! I hate Game Center! Finally, I had an alarm go off to wake me up and there was a Snooze button but no button to turn the alarm off. I flicked the slider to access the main screen expecting to see something to turn the alarm off but there was nothing. The alarm just kept alarming. I had to warm boot my IPhone to shut the alarm off! Really, Apple!!!!
The sound is turned off. Only, some Apple apps like YouTube and Siri make sound when the sound is turned off. It is very embarrassing when this happens at work. My question was how do I tell Apple to fix this?

The alarm went off. There was a green thing that looked like a button but pressing it did nothing. There was a red button that said snooze. I did not want to snooze. I wanted to turn the alarm off. I slid the bar to unlock the phone and there were no running apps with a button to press. The alarm just keep running. I have not had this problem since it first occurred. The alarm now shuts off when I just unlock the phone. It may have happened because I had another alarm app running. The two may have interfered with each other. I would like to tell Apple about it.
It also annoys me that the button that closes apps leaves the phone app running. If I press on a number at 6:00 AM to get information about who called me, the phone automatically dials the person back and my natural reaction is to press on the button to close the phone app but the phone keeps dialing this person at 6:00 AM. It is a bad design. I would like to tell Apple about it.
Finally, I looked all over Apple's site to try to find someplace I could send them a polite message to let them know that I was not happy with these "features" but could not find anything. It is extremely frustrating to have issues with a product and not being able to tell the manufacturer about it. So, you grow up!.

Are there any good DVD authoring programs for Mac now that Apple has discontinued DVD Studio and iDVD? I need to make DVDs that have interactive menus and such (Final Cut X and Compressor 4's DVD option is a little cheap and doesn't provide any kind of professional DVD authoring). Any ideas?

Practically speaking, there are really four options for the Mac platform: Toast (<$100), Adobe Premier Productiom ($1,600 to buy or $50/month to rent), find a copy of Final Cut Studio from 3rd party (+/- $1,000 new) or a boxed edition of iLife to get iDVD ($50 - $90 on Amazon new).
The other question everyone has is how many OS versions before iDVD or FCS breaks? No one knows, but Apple has said they're no longer supporting these legacy apps. Of course, no one is mandated to upgrade to a new OS unless they buy a new computer. So if it works on a system, stay with it as long as it makes sense.

I have an ipod touch that continues to have a black screen with the white apple on it. It won't shut off and is completely frozen. This happened when we tried to restore it last night. Help please!!

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

Hi, I hope you can help. I'm sure this is something really basic that I should be able to fix myself, but.................
I was working on a photo calendar on my macbook off the battery and the battery suddenly ran out. So it wasn't shut down properly. Now when I open i photo the coloured wheel just keeps spinning and I can't get into it. Everything else on the computer seems to work. I've done forced quit and restarted it a few times and also left it running.

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

I am really angry that I get this message every time I try to update Itunes.

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

Apple TV Cuts off when streaming from iTunes
Since a couple days ago, when I stream a TV show I have brought from iTunes directly to watch it works fine but every 8 - 9 minutes, without fail it will cut off and say the iTunes store is not avaliable. I then simple press play again and it starts again, but then 8 - 9 minutes later the same thing happens? Does anyone know a way to fix this?? It's very frustrating when you're watching an hour long TV show and it cuts off 6 or 7 times!!

if you stream from netflix-----all is fine
if you stream from itunes store ----whatever you are watching will cut off after 8min 59 sec

I have spent 2 days trouble shooting the issue with Apple care, I even opened a new Apple tv I got for my family room which is doing the same thing, I reset my settings, I refreshed my network still the same problem
today on a return call I got from apple care they agree its on itunes end, so he made a call or chat whatever they did to the tech support at the itunes store dept and they gave him the same as I got from express lane, everything is fine on their end....its not!
they told him to tell me its my network ...its not! I have 2 xbox consoles and they both work fine when I stream videos, I have no issue with anything on my Apple tv such as youtube or netflix or my library

it could be a server issue or update but the new apple tv I opened was 4.4.3 and it had the same issues as the one I been using which is 4.4.4
The only thing I can suggest is if you have the Apple care on your Apple TV is to call over and over and let them know this is happening because if they get the calls then hopefully someone will keep contacting the itune store support and fix it.

Honestly, I can not make it to the genuis bar at a apple store for a bit because I was in a car accident and can't walk on my leg, so trust me I was looking forward to watching a bunch of movies, I could but the resuming after every 9 min blows.
