Remove SCVMM2012 Integration in SCOM 2012

Hi @all
i had a SCOM 2012 - SCVMM 2012 integration ... and now i re-installed the SCVMM Server with Windows Server 2012 and SCVMM 2012 SP1 ... i thought everything´s fine .. but now i noticed, that system discovery in SCOM 2012 does not work .. and i guess that
is caused by the old SCVMM Integration ...
how can i remove an obsolete scvmm 2012 integration on SCOM 2012 Server  ? ...

Hi
Before removing the old VMM server, you really needed to go into Settings and System Center Integrations and remove the SCOM integration. That would have removed the conectors from SCOM as well.
Do you still see all the old VMM Connectors in SCOM?
In VMM, have you tried reconfiguring the SCOM integration? Do you see a green tick or red cross? If not, then try re-adding to see if the new integration will work. You'll also need to upgrade Management Packs in SCOM.

  • EM 12C Integration with SCOM 2012

    Hi
Has anyone integrated EM12C ( running on Solaris Sparc ) with MS SCOM 2012 ? Just looking for any hints / tips /issues ... etc ...
    Any thoughts appreciated.
    Regards

If the integration is along the lines of forwarding events from Enterprise Manager 12c to SCOM, then we are currently finalizing an event connector for SCOM 2012. It will enable the sending of events from Enterprise Manager to SCOM.

  • SCCM 2012 integration with SCOM 2012 - Disable Alerts during patching

Have SCCM 2012 R2 and SCOM 2012 R2 and use the Software Update Patching process for servers.  When using the checkbox to "Disable Operations Manager Alerts when this program runs" option have noticed on completion of the job and the target
server is rebooted, a scheduled task appears for a short time titled "SCOM 2007 Agent Resume Task".  The task disappears and there is no history to view.
Is this a legacy naming convention from 2007 world when the maintenance mode is turned off from the SCCM patching process?
How do I see the actual code behind the SCCM and SCOM integration with Maintenance mode to validate it.

SCCM should use the following SCOM SDK to do that.
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb437532.aspx
That's incorrect. There is no API or method to put an OpsMgr agent into maintenance mode on the client itself -- maintenance mode is a centrally controlled feature of OpsMgr. The API/code sample you linked is performing that activity on the management server
which assumes you know the management server name and have permissions to carry out the action -- neither of which is fulfilled by the ConfigMgr agent.
The ConfigMgr agent pauses the OpsMgr client agent service and also unloads the workflows from the OpsMgr agent (it only did the first part in ConfigMgr 2007). This effectively puts the agent in Maintenance Mode (although to my knowledge this is not directly
    reflected in the OpsMgr console).

  • Recommendations for SCOM 2012 -- 2012 R2 migration

Hello to all. I have a customer that has SCOM 2012 in its IT environment but uses it barely and does not have any documentation. I proposed to install a new Manament Group (MG) and "reboot" to a paralell SCOM 2012 R2 considering the
use of new features present on 2012 R2.
       Questions:
1- Does SCOM support a side by side migration strategy , like SCCM 2007 R2 --> SCCM 2012 R2 that takes its main source objects and bring them to the new separated Management Group (the SCOM 2012 R2)?
2- Considering that all regular member servers are monitored by SCOM 2012 (all have agents installed), what is the recommended way to to install SCOM 2012 R2 agents on them (multi homed deploy, deploy a new agent and it will upgrade/remove the
    already existing SCOM 2012, etc)?
3- Does SCOM allows a approach to install a SCOM 2012 R2 on already existing SCOM 2012 MG and "migrate" its objects to new server and after that decomission SCOM 2012 (the old version)?
Your inputs and references will be very welecomed.

  • AD Integration: 1 Forest containing 2 Domains - Run Accounts/Profiles (SCOM 2012)

I know there are plenty of threads on AD integration & Run As accounts\Profiles, but none quite answering my scenario...so here goes.
    1 Forest containing 2 domains -
    abc.com and
    def.com.
abc.comcontains SCOM 2012 infrastructure (Mgmt Servers (MS1, MS2), Ops DB, Reporting DWDB).
    abc.com
    1. Created SCOM Admins
    Global Security group
    2. Created SCOM_MS_Action
domain user account (used during SCOM setup & also Local Admin on all
abc.com machines via Action Account AD group/GPO)
    3. Ran MomADAdmin.exe DEV-OPSMGR12 "abc\SCOM Admins" abc\SCOM_MS_Action abc.com
    (SCOM_MS_Action
added to SCOM Admins group as a result)
    4. Created Auto Agent Assign
    rule for abc.com
against MS1 for "servers", Run As Profile left as
    default setting.
    RESULT: All servers in abc.com
    populated MS_PrimarySG_xxx
    group as expected.
    def.com
    5. Created SCOM Admins
    Global Security group
    6. Created SCOM_AD_Assign
    domain user account
    7. Ran MomADAdmin.exe DEV-OPSMGR12 "def\SCOM Admins" def\SCOM_AD_Assign def.com
    (SCOM_AD_Assign added to
SCOM Admins group as a result)
    8. Created Run As Account (Windows) "def\SCOM_AD_Assign"
Do I need to create this?
    9. Set "def\SCOM_AD_Assign"
Run As account to "More Secure"
Is"More Secure" correct, otherwise "Less Secure" causes errors on abc.com clients?
    10. Created Run As Profile "def AD Agent Discovery" & assigned to
    Default Management Pack
Do I need to create a new Run As Profile?
Was this the correct MP as when creating a new MP I got errors about it being unsealed when assigning to new Auto Agent Assign
rule? I was under the impression never to use the Default MP?
    11. Associated "def\SCOM_AD_Assign" Run As account to "def AD Agent Discovery"
Run As Profile, targetting "All Objects"
    Is this correct?
    12. Created Auto Agent Assign
    rule for def.com
against MS1 for "servers", Run As Profile changed to "def AD Agent Discovery."
    RESULT: def.com contains OperationsManagement\DEV-OPSMGR12
    container but no MS_PrimarySG_xxx
    group exists?
Do I need to add my Run As account to the "Active Directory Based Agent Assignment Account" Run As Profile as well as/instead of creating a Run As Profile? - and if so, do I target All Objects, Class, Group,
    Object?
Thanks in advance - I find these Run As accounts very confusing when it comes to multiple domains!

OK, solved this one myself. To answer my own questions :) this is what needed to be done (whether it's entirely correct or not is up for debate, however I ended up with the result I was after, so I am happy for now):
    def.com
    5. Created SCOM Admins
    Global Security group
    6. Created SCOM_AD_Assign
    domain user account
    7. Ran MomADAdmin.exe DEV-OPSMGR12 "def\SCOM Admins" def\SCOM_AD_Assign def.com
(SCOM_AD_Assign added toSCOM Admins group as a result)
    8. Created Run As Account (Windows) "def\SCOM_AD_Assign"
Do I need to create this?
    YES
    9. Set "def\SCOM_AD_Assign"Run As account to
    "More Secure"
Is "More Secure" correct, otherwise "Less Secure" causes errors on abc.com clients?
YES, and added the Management Servers as "...the computers to which the credentials will be distributed"
    10. Created Run As Profile "def AD Agent Discovery" & assigned to
    Default Management Pack
Do I need to create a new Run As Profile?
    YES
Was this the correct MP as when creating a new MP I got errors about it being unsealed when assigning to new Auto Agent Assign rule? I was under the impression
never to use the Default MP?
Questionable, I did select the Default MP, otherwise the unsealed error occured when creating the Auto Agent Assign rule
    11. Associated "def\SCOM_AD_Assign" Run As account to "def AD Agent Discovery"
Run As Profile, targeting "All Objects"
    Is this correct?
NO, instead I targeted the Class "AD Assignment Resource Pool"
    12. Created Auto Agent Assign
    rule for def.com
against MS1 for "servers", Run As Profile changed to "def AD Agent Discovery."
Do I need to add my Run As account to the "Active Directory Based Agent Assignment Account" Run As Profile as well as/instead of creating a Run As Profile? - and if so, do I target All Objects, Class, Group, Object?
NO, otherwise alerts appear in regards to abc.com discovery rules breaking. Looks like for additional domains this rule should not be touched.
    RESULT: All servers in def.com
    populated MS_PrimarySG_xxx
    group as expected
Note: Domain Controllers should not be included in the Auto Assign rules supposedly (makes sense) so I altered the query to ensure they didn't populate in the
    MS_PrimarySG_xxx group:
    (&(sAMAccountType=805306369)(objectCategory=computer)(objectClass=computer)(operatingSystem=*Server*)) (!(primaryGroupID=516))
     (!(primaryGroupID=516)) equates to exclude DCs.

  • SCVMM and SCOM 2012 Integration Issues

Hello, I have integrated SCOM 2012 RTM and SCVMM 2012 RTM and am having lots of issues that were not present with 2007/2008 family integration.  For starters, my SCOM environment manages multiple untrusted domains, etc.  When enabling VMM integration
I now get hundreds of alerts about "Unable to verify Run As Account", stating that is cannot login as the VMM service account for all clients that don't live in same domain as SCVMM server.  For starters why do my physical servers, and all VMs need
to be distributed with this account?  The alert is also expected logically, because this is impossible to distribute a Run As account to every agent in a multi-domain untrusted environment.  Also according to this configuration, the Virtual
Machine Manager Connection Account created in SCOM is set to less secure (distributed to all agents), which is why the alert is coming up; additionally less secure setting is typically bad practice.  Why does SCVMM do this by default?  Can it be
changed?  What are options here?  It seems to me only the SCOM management server should need this Run As account, not every agent?  Thoughts on this?  Thanks!

I'm running SCVMM 2012 R2 and OpsMgr 2012 R2.  I have the integration setup and have had the same issue with the RunAs account logging on to workgroup computers.
I tried changing the account distribution to More secure and only targeting my two management servers and the VMM server.  I also changed the profile so that it targeted only the Windows Computer object for the same three servers.  I came in this
morning and I do not have the "Run As Account Could Not Log On" message anymore on the workgroup computer, but now I have an alert "VMM Agent Not Monitored By Operations Manager" for the VMM server.  I look at the Health Explorer and see that the agent
is reachable but its not being monitored.
I tried changing the RunAs profile back to "All Targeted Objects" but monitoring still didn't restart.  Then I tried restarting the OpsMgr agent and then the VMM agent, but still the status did not change.  Now, I have just set the account back
to Less secure and have again received the warning from the workgroup computer about not being able to log on.  I'll wait a little longer to see if the VMM server begins to be managed.
    Any experience with this?

  • The problem with forecast reports in SCOM 2012 after integration with VMM 2012

    Hello.
I have problem with forecast reports in SCOM 2012 after integration with VMM 2012. All other reports (not forecasting) works fine. For example, report “Host Group Forecasting” don’t work. The report is generated, but I have error: “Subreport

SQL collation for all SQL DB instances (SCOM and VMM and SCOM reporting) – “SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS”
SQL Analysis service: SQL collation – “Latin1_General” ; language for the server – English (United States)
I think the problem in regional settings. By my opinion there are two possible mistakes:
SQL collation  for all SQL DB instances. May be need use “Latin1_General_CI_AS”
    as provided by

Error: Subreport could not be shown
Opening a report for Client Security might result in the following error being displayed in one or more areas of the report: "Error: Subreport could not be shown."
    Background
There are two possible reasons for this error:
    1. Wrong location   The reporting server is pointing to the wrong computer running SQL Server or a SQL Server instance.
    2. Insufficient permissions   The account configured (in SQL Server Reporting Services) to connect to the reporting database does not have appropriate permissions for the database.
    Solution
To determine which reason is causing the error, attempt to directly open the subreport reporting the error, by clicking the name of the subreport.
If the reporting server is pointing to a wrong location, the report displays an error similar to the following:
    Error message
An error has occurred during report processing.
Cannot create a connection to data source 'SystemCenterReporting'. Cannot open database "SystemCenterReporting" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user username.
To verify the correct SQL Server computer and instance path
In Report Manager, navigate to the report generating the error and click the Properties tab.
Click Data Sources and under a Shared data source, note the path.
Open the reporting Web site. If you chose the default virtual directory for reports, the URL is: http://hostname/Reports/
If you chose to secure the viewing of reports with HTTPS, the URL is: https://hostname/Reports/
    Click SCDW.
In the Connection type list, ensure that Microsoft SQL Server is selected.
In the Connection string box, ensure that the correct SQL Server computer and instance name are entered.
    Note:
A period (.) denotes the local computer.
If the account has insufficient permissions, the report displays an error similar to the following:
    Error message
An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted) Query execution failed for data set 'DSDashboardComputersTrend'. (rsErrorExecutingCommand) EXECUTE permission denied on object 'prSAS_UX_DashboardComputersTrend', database 'SystemCenterReporting',
    schema 'dbo'.
To determine if you are experiencing the SQL Server permissions issue
Open the reporting Web site. If you chose the default virtual directory for reports, the URL is:http://hostname/Reportserver/
If you chose to secure the viewing of reports with HTTPS, the URL is:https://hostname/Reportserver/
Click Microsoft Operations Manager Reporting, click Microsoft Forefront Client Security, and scroll to DashboardComputersTrend.
    Click DashboardComputersTrend.
If you are experiencing a SQL Server permissions issue, an error similar to the preceding error appears.
To grant permissions to the SQL Server computer
    1. In Report Manager, click SCDW and note the account in the Connect using section. This is the account under which the database is contacted.
    2. On the server with the System Center Reporting database, start SQL Server Management Studio.
    3. In the tree, expand Security, and then expand Logins. Do one of the following:
If the user account is listed, right-click the account, click Properties, and then go to step 5.
If the user account is not listed, right-click Logins and choose New Login.
    4. In the Login name box, enter the user account (domain\username).
    5. In the Login Properties dialog box, click User Mapping, and then under Users mapped to this login, select the System Center Reporting check box.
    6. Under Database role membership for: System Center Reporting, select the db_owner check box, and then click OK.

  • SCOM 2012 CA Wily Introscope Integration

    Hello,
I want to integrate CA Wily Introscope into our SCOM 2012 environment. There is an Integration xml (CAWily.Introscope.Integration.xml) which I can include as management pack into SCOM. After this I see 4 charts but no information in it. SCOM agent
is running on Introscope MOM Servers and Collectors and the Intrscope discovery function is active at SCOM. It seems to me that the discovery can not find the Introscope servers.
Is there anything to activate on Introscope?
Has anybody experience with this integration?
    Regards, Doreen

    Hi,
Do you mean that you want to use SCOM to moitor Introscope server? Do you have the corresponding management pack imported to the management group?
Based on my research, CA Wily Introscope is also a monitoring tool. If you are looking for ways to combine both the two monitoring tools together, I have to say that it may not be supported. As they are totally different and I am not familar with CA
Wily Introscope, please also post on the vendor forum to get more support.

We actually have used the stored procedure for 2007 and 2012
    OperationsManager.dbo.p_TypedManagedEntityDelete
If you want to use Invoke-Sqlcmd to run the query.
Another way from SQL which can be put in PowerShell
--Grab GUID for that health service
    select * from BaseManagedEntity
    where FullName like '%<servername>%'
    and IsDeleted = 1
    Look for FullName with Microsoft.SystemCenter.HealthService:servername
-- Use this to test the entity delete for the healthservice GUID
    DECLARE @EntityId uniqueidentifier;
    DECLARE @TimeGenerated datetime;
-- change "GUID" to the ID of the invalid entity
    SET @EntityId = '<GUID here>';
    SET @TimeGenerated = getutcdate();
    BEGIN TRANSACTION
    EXEC dbo.p_TypedManagedEntityDelete @EntityId, @TimeGenerated;
    COMMIT TRANSACTION
    --Check what is in deleted
    select * from BaseManagedEntity
    where IsDeleted = 1

  • How to remove network devices through powershell? (scom 2012)

    Hi
Could anyone says how to delete network device in SCOM 2012 through powershell?
    In 2007 we have Get-RemotelyManagedDevice.
I have a big number network device in monitoring and now need delete some of them with specific filter, all switches.
    How to do it?
    Thanks
    Alex

The devices were discovered by an old Management Server that was reinstalled.
I finally got those devices out of my SCOM environment using this SQL query (just replace networkdevicename):
    UPDATE
    BaseManagedEntity
    SET
    isdeleted=1
    from
    BaseManagedEntity where
    BaseManagedEntityId in
    (select
    BaseManagedEntityId from
    BaseManagedEntity where
    displayname like
    '%networkdevicename%')
