RME 3.2 Inventory Collection Failure with error

Hi,
Inventory collection fails with error is "Timed out. Make sure that ICServer is running”. But the ICServer process is running. I enabled debug on could see the following in the IC_Server.log which I'm not sure if it indicates any issues.
I can find the devices in DCR and the devices are classified as Normal in RME.
Series of following message for all the devices
DEBUG,[Thread-26],com.cisco.nm.rmeng.inventory.ics.core.Request,115,Removing device 181from request 1255347128972
DEBUG,[Thread-26],com.cisco.nm.rmeng.inventory.ics.core.PriorityQueue,163,Removing, 175

then,

DEBUG,[Thread-25],com.cisco.nm.rmeng.inventory.ics.core.Request,75,Adding device 175 to request 1255347128973
and then the below messages

DEBUG,[Timer-0],com.cisco.nm.rmeng.inventory.ics.threadpool.ThreadPool,69, Timer Tasks Run method is called.
DEBUG,[Timer-0],com.cisco.nm.rmeng.inventory.ics.threadpool.ThreadPool,69, Timer Tasks Run method is called
I highly appreciate any help on this. Thanks

The ICServer process could have locked up which means a full thread dump will be required to see why this is happening. Open a TAC service request, and they can walk you through getting this.

  • Inventory Collection Failure with LMS 3.2

    Hi,
I've been running LMS 3.2 with RME 4.3.1.
Inventory Collection fails while trying to collect data from 7825I Media Convergence Servers running Call Manager 6.1.
It fails with the following error:
RICS0001:Internal Error, unable to process the collected data from the device.
I have tried deleting and adding the device again, but with no effect.
The Call Manager server has ip 192.168.5.5, here it is the IC_Server.log attached.
Looking at the log, I see there is some kind of database error, but I don't know how can be avoided.
    Any suggestions?
    Regards,
    Velin

I have removed the Call Managers from RME, and then re-added them again.
After that I started a inventory collection job but it failed again with the same error. I've tried some times with the inventory job but it fials every time.
I read about the bug you've mentioned and it is advised to patch the RME. Since i'm running the latest version, what can i do?

  • Inventory Collection Failure Following Upgrade to 3.2

We have 90 Cisco VPN 3002 Hardware clients deployed that we manage using Ciscoworks. Before our recent upgrade from 3.1 to 3.2 all VPN 3002 devices previously inventoried and fetched configs successfully.
Following upgrade this week we are seeing Inventory Collection failures for some (not all) of the VPN 3002 devices.
Not sure if upgrade from 3.1 to 3.2 installs a new device package for this device, but checked following upgrade and there are no Software, Device or Package updates on CCO that we need to install.
I have attached output from IC_Server.log for one of the failed VPN 3002 devices and it looks like the Inventory Collection failure is SNMP related (see attached).
Any idea if we need to upgrade code on the VPN 3002 devices? I tried deleting device from Ciscoworks and readding without success and Config Fetch is working on readded device.

There appears to be a problem getting the ifTable from these devices. It would be helpful to see a sniffer trace filtering on SNMP traffic to one failing device, then on one successful 3002 when performing inventory collection to see if there are any obvious problems. The device is replying with a noSuchName error, but it's not obvious exactly which object is causing the problem.
The other error here is related to the following Altiga objects:
    alSepModuleStatsType
    alSepModuleStatsState
    alSepModuleStatsDspCodeVersion
Again, a noSuchName error is coming from the device.
There were no code changes in the 3.2 device package for VPN3000 devices, so something must be going on with these devices.

  • RME 4 - Inventory Collection Failure

I am getting the following RME inventory collection error on 4 devices.  These 4 devices were recently added to the network and were all attached to a new radius server.  I have tested AAA to the 4 switches and am confident that radius is working as intended.
The devices are a mix of 2950 and 3550 switches.
    Here is the error.
RICS0001:Internal Error, unable to process the collected data from the device.
    Thanks in advance.

In that case, this is probably CSCsk65355 which should be fixed in 4.1.1.  However, 4.1.1 suffers from CSCsm97530.  So I would suggest to first upgrade to RME 4.1.1.  If you continue to see this, then you can contact TAC and apply patch for CSCsm97530 over 4.1.1.

  • PI2.1: collection failure with all 2950

    Hello
I have all Switches 2950  with The collection status  "collection failure".
    PI version  is 2.1
    OID of 2950 is : 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.324  : Catalyst295024
    Software version is : flash:/c2950-i6q4l2-mz.121-20.EA1a.bin

If I hit the detail of the "collection status detail" , I have this error message:

    # Check the device credentials provided are valid    --> Yes !
    # Finally if the problem still persists then contact Cisco System's technical assistance center
I tried to change the snmp timeout, and also to use snmpv1.

    Leo,
I think you are not correct ...
    ( to be truth - I hope it ;- )  )
in PI 2.2 the Cat 3550 is listed under the supported devices whereas the Cat 2950, 2955 are not:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/net_mgmt/prime/infrastructure/2-2/release/notes/cpi_rn.html#pgfId-43885
But the latter are listed as being supported in PI 2.1 (while the Cat 3550 is not...)
    http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/net_mgmt/prime/infrastructure/2-1/supported/devices/pi21-supported-devices-list.xlsx?mdfid=284540974
So hopefully it is just a matter of time to get them ALL on the list of supported devices for the current version of PI 2.2 ...
I just saw that for Prime Network (Management SW for Service Providers) they even have Cat 3500XL on the list of supported devices... (but I do not know for which type of management they do support these devives, e.g. config, alarming, etc)

  • RME 4.3, Inventory Collection doesn't work for 6500

I have a issue with Inventory collection for 6500 devices running IOS 12.2.33 SXI1, fails with a message, "device collection failed"
From IC_Server log i could see SNMP Request timeout exception, so increased SNMP timeout to 10  under device attributes for the device but still it fails.
attacehd is the extract from IC_Server log.
Could anybody help me on this? Thanks

You have not increased the timeout properly.  You need to go to RME > Devices > Device Management > RME Devices, and edit the attributes for the required device.  Select the device from the list in the left-hand pane to pre-populate the current attributes.  Then increase the SNMP timeout to 10, and save the changes.  On the previous screen, you will need to APPLY those changes before the 10 second timeout will take effect.

  • Standard Data Collection Failing with Error ORA-04054: database link  does not exist.

    Hi Gurus,
When I am running Standard Data Collection in ASCP(APS) instance R12.1.3, its failing with error : ORA-04054: database link  does not exist.
There is no such Database link exits which is showing in above error.
Also the database link name in the above error is not profile values in the database.
I think, concurrent might be fetching this database link name  from some tables related to plan.
I am not having much knowledge about how this ASCP/APS works.
Need your help to resolve this issue.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
ASCP Collections looks at the dblink from instances definitions from.

    Hi,
I am trying to create a new organization by using Copy Inventory Organization concurrent but it fails with error. Below is the error message in the log:
Tue May 18 09:25:13 EEST 2010[ERROR]Copy of InventoryParameters failed.

The following attribute is mandatory. Please enter a not null value.
    Primary Key : OrganizationCode = '999'
Attribute : Organization Name, Business Group Name
But the strange thing is this error happens for only one organization while the others succeed.
I checked Metalink Note:752372.1 which seems appropriate for the current situation yet as I said I am getting this error for only one organization. We have Oracle 9.2.0.8 and EBS 11.5.10.2.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Burak;
This error mention in 3 notes in metalink
Copy Inventory Organization Request Fails With 'An Error Occurred In API' [ID 752372.1]<< you already mention it
R12 Unable To Copy Organization Parameters Using Organization Copy Feature [ID 788851.1]
Oracle Inventory News Volume 18: Nov./Dec., 2008 [ID 780837.1] << which is mention note 752372.1
Solution seems to applying patch, but you cant apply r12 patch to r11 release, So i belive check below part of error.
The following attribute is mandatory. Please enter a not null value.Primary Key : OrganizationCode = '999'
Attribute : Organization Name, Business Group Name
It reminds you something? If no than i suggest log a SR while you are waiting other forum users response here
    Hope it helps

  • Acrobat XI installation failure, with error codes

I've tried but failed to install Acrobat XI twice from Creative Cloud, but the program showed up as installed in Win8 control panel. I uninstalled and tried again, failed, but captured the error codes as follows (hope someone can help):

Okay, so I've looked at posts with similar issues and error codes and they all seem to point in somewhat different directions and tend to relate to earlier product and OS versions but then I decided to look for the installation files in C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat and found the Acrobat.exe file. It successfully launched the application, which appears to have installed properly (still testing that theory). The launch icons appear on the Win8 Start menu and the Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features indicates the program has been installed. Apparently, the only issue remaining is that the CC App Manager shows the install as failed. Something failed, not sure what but it may have been the final hand-off of the process to CC App Manager. But I'm just guessing.

I don't know that a service request was opened for this, but if the originator does not reply, you can start a new thread for this issue.  If the symptoms are the same, a service request may be required to figure out why ESS is either not starting completely, or dying after it starts.
One thing we have seen since this thread was first posted was some ESS problems that are caused by corrupt data stores.  Moving the contents of NMSROOT/objects/ess/data to a backup location then restarting Daemon Manager has been known to help with that.

  • 3.0 upgrade failure with Error 1604

Just tried to make the upgrade - downloaded, backed-up, etc. Got as far as the RESTORE finalisation and eventually was told "cannnot restore - unknown error 1604".
Now my iPhone doesn't work - it just shows a black screen with white USB cable plus an image of iTunes. Tried reset (Home + Sleep button pressing), but that doesn't do anything.
I've re-attached the iPhone, followed the RESTORE instructions in iTunes, but always the same error comes back eventually - "cannnot restore - unknown error 1604".
I've tried re-installing iTunes, Apple Mobile Device, etc. but no it makes no difference.

Ok this has become totally ridiculous. I've spent the last 5 hours trying to fix my iphone all because I went to update to 3.0
I didn't do anything wrong, the files were all from apple and not corrupted.
I finally managed to restore via my laptop and yet when I try to get my settings back on my phone from what I have saved on my desktop, it breaks again and I have to start all over.
    This is so ()&U)*(&@)*(&@()@ stupid!!!!
So the last few months of customizing and backing up my iphone is all lost due to some bullsh*t that apple screwed up?
I guess I should have gotten a Zune.
Anyways, this thread is barely useful... I wish you guys would clarify a little bit.
Like what vette asked in reference to Kleckerei's second post... *** is the file name?
I'm so ****** off right now... months and months of saved contacts, notes, games, apps, etc... GONE and I backed up EVERY **** TIME I plugged in my iphone.
This is the ultimate failure in the entire history of phone manufacturers.

  • Datasocket failure with error 1184

I used to have 3 pcs making up a network. They were all running Windows 2000  and Labview 8.5.1 and I was able to use one machine to host a shared variable engine and have the others read and write shared variables to and from it. Now I have upgraded the pcs to Windows 7 and my old VIs no longer work. Even though the shared variable library appears to have deployed successfully I get Error 1184 ( Path not found, FTP login incorrect or no FTP write permission). Is this because of an incompatability between Labview 8.5.1 and Windows 7 or is it a problem with setting permissions in Windows 7. If the latter what do I need to set?
    Thanks

    don_h:
Technically, LabVIEW 8.5.1 isn't supported on Windows 7, which means that I can't guarantee that this will work at all (since there hasn't been any testing of 8.5.1 on that OS).
Since you seem to have the program itself running, we'll set that aside (I just want to be upfront about it).
The error itself sounds like it's either a network security issue with Windows 7, or some DataSocket configuration that isn't set up yet.
My guess is the latter. If you freshly reinstalled LabVIEW, then the DataSocket server may not be set up for multiple subscribers. There is more info on the issue in this KB here.
If that doesn't work, then you may need to check your firewall settings in Windows 7. I believe you can find the port numbers and further info in this other KB.
    Hope that helps!

  • Secondary DPM backup failure with error code 0x80070002

    Hello everyone,
    I have the following scenario:
    Protected Server -> Primary DPM (DPM 2012 R2 UR4) -> Secondary DPM (DPM 2012 R2 UR4 - remote network)
I have created a Protection Group in Primary DPM server containing three folders under C: drive. Backups works fine.
In my Secondary DPM server, I have created a Protection Group containing my Primary DPM server's protected data, which is the entire drive C:.
I am getting the following error while running a Consistency Check on Secondary DPM server:
An unexpected error occurred while the job was running. (ID 104 Details: The system cannot find the file specified (0x80070002))
In the logs, I just see entries like this:

Do you guys have any idea on why this is happening?
    Thanks for your cooperation.

This can happen due to installation of some 3rd party disk storage management solutions.
