Regards,

I'm assuming that, the country is India and based on its requirement:
Sales tax is a state government revenue. There are two types of sales taxes, Local sales tax & central sales tax. Local sales tax is intra state whereas CST is inter state.
Example of LST : Point of sale i.e. delivering plant & ship to party are within the same state. The rates are defined by the respective state governments.
Example of CST : The Delivering plant & Ship to party geographic locations are 2 different states. At the point of sales from one state, the ST goes to that state govt. & consignment is despatched to the Ship to party. Once that consignment is received at the ship to party state, sales tax will be levied once the sales is registered there. For this case, the LST that is applicable by the Ship to party further will not be applicable in all probability to be captured in SAP.
Stock transfer : This does not attract any sales tax. The consignment is transferred from one D plant to another D plant irrespective of inter/intra state sales. The invoice that is accompanied with the consignment thus shall not have any final value. It's a zero value invoice, but the basic prices needed to be mentioned.
The selling organisations normally needs to register with the sales tax authority of the respective state to have a warehouse or D plant to avoid the double taxation for their dealers/distributors.
Now, the pricing procedure that is there in 4.7 is Factory sale with formula-JFACT, in which the CST condition type is JIN1 & the LST is probably JIN2. There may be surcharge cond types as well which will calculate the amount on either JIN1 or JIN2.
For config :
1.SPRO > S&D > Basic fn. > Pricing > Pricing control > Define & assign Pric. procedure > Maintain Pric proc.
2. The tax rates are normally driven from the Tax classification of Customer & Material access. To do this config, S&D >Basic fn. > Taxes. You need to include the condition type for country IN in 'Define tax determin rule'.
3. Same path : But go to Tax relevancy of master records where you configure the condition type & options of rates that will flow to these masters. One needs to understand here properly as u need to have unique combinations for picking the sales tax rates. I will try to demonstrate the smallest example. Let's say, the LST rates are 2%,4% & 0%. I will have two options for material master here. 1 for taxable & 2 for not taxable.
For customer master, I will have 1-LST 2%, 2-LST4% & 3-LST0%. When I create master records for LST thru VK11 for JIN2, I will chose the access where the combinations of customer & material tax classifications are available. If this access does not exist create it under an access sequence. But normally this is standard. The condition records will look like,
Cust-Tax classi.          Material tax claasi.        Rate           Tax code
        1                                    1                         2%               A1
        2                                    1                         4%               A1
        3                                    1                         0%               A1
Remember, rates are flown from the tax codes. Tax codes can be created thru T code FTXP. This is normally a FI job.
Hope this info helps

Manthan.

  • Customer tax classification determination(VA02/VF02)

    Hi
customer tax classification is detetmined in VA02 with value '0', but where as in VF02 the value is '1'.
but we want customer tax classification value '0' in VF02.what would be the root-cause for this problem.
condition type is MWST and tax code : A4.
    waiting for your response.
    Regards,
    Kiran

    Hi
Your pricing procedure should have the CTXJ condition and maintain VK11 condition record for CTXJ with 0% value and maintain the relevant Tax Code in that condition record. Based on this tax code the FTXP record will be hit and the tax values maintained there will be determined in the SD document. You need not maintain the VK11 conditon records for your tax conditions JRC1, JRC2 etc.,
Since you have maintained tax records for the JRC conditons in both VK11 and FTXP, the system might be determining the values twice. You can confirm this point by maintaining two different values for the same condition type (say JRC1) in VK11 and FTXP, create a sales order....and post your observations in the forum.
    Thanks,

  • Derivation rule to determine customer tax classification in COPA

    Hi Experts,
Please guide me to complete this assignment.
The requirement is to fetch the material tax classification and customer tax classificaion into COPA through derivation rule.
we can fetch material tax classification through table VBRP.
Please help me to derive customer tax classification( KNVI-TAXKD) through derivation.
Customer tax classification data is available in table KNVI.
But when you consider KNVI table through table lookup it is asking customer, country key and tax category. To define this derivation rule we need tax category values in COPA.
We can get customer and country key but not tax category.
How to bring tax category (KNVI-TATYP)
into COPA to define derivation rule to fetch customer tax classification( KNVI-TAXKD).
Please suggest me if any alternative solution to bring customer tax classification data into COPA.
Points will be assigned to usefull answer.
    Thanks in advance.

I need to set up an expense form so that our consultant can "filter" by customer type, program type, and finally the purpose of the trip. For instance: the customer types are churches, schools, organizations. The program type would be dependent on the customer type selection from the first list. Some examples would be: fund raising, gift planning, surveys, and others. The purpose of the trip would be dependent on the program type selected from the second list. Some examples of trip purposes would be: presentation, design, prospecting. Further, the purpose of trip selection from the third drop-down box would then have to determine the values of other fields by expense type: such as commission, airfare, hotel. etc. I've tried pop-up menu but can't figure out how to "select" from the final popup list and have it populate a field for the purpose of the trip. I've tried to look at the JavaScript examples for dependent drop-down boxes, but can't find any that quite fit what I'm trying to accomplish. I am very new to all of this. No training in writing Javascripts - just trying to wing it. The form has to be very simple for our consultants to use, but also give our office the detail we need to process through the correct account numbers. I would appreciate any detailed step-by-step instructions - kind of a javascript for dummies type of info. HELP!

An AcroForm is the name given to the type of PDF form that you create in Acrobat. An XFA form is the type of form that you create in LiveCycle Designer. Although they are both PDF files, they are very different structurally and have significant;y different scripting models. So pay attention to the information on AcroForms and ignore anything about XFA. Be sure to get the sample PDF forms so you can look at how it works and where the scripts are placed.
What you want to do will require scripting, and if you don't have the experience and are unable to use the information in the tutorials to create what you want, you might consider getting someone who has experience do this for you. I'll often suggest code if I can do so quickly, but what you want requires more than a few minutes.

  • Exch.Rate Type for Determining the Proposed Rate

    Dears,
I defined, in the document type to be used for Goods Receipt, the field T003-KURST (Exch.Rate Type for Determining the Proposed Rate) equal to u2018Pu2019: exchange rate type used also for standard translation for cost planning.
Then, I created a Purchase Order using a vendor in foreign currency, and in the header section within tab u2018Delivery/Invoiceu2019 in field "Exchange Rate" I filled in the exchange rate valid at the moment of the Purchase Order creation and I also put the flag in the indicator "Fixing of Exchange Rate".
Afterwards, I posted  the Goods Receipt against the Purchase Order created at the previous step.
My expectations were to find in FI accounting:
    - 1 line item for stock increase (transaction BSX) valuated using the exchange rate defined in the document type in field T003-KURST;
    - 1 line item for GR/IR increase (transaction WRX) valuated using the exchange rate defined in the Purchase Order and indicated as fixed;
    - 1 line item for difference (transaction PRD) between stock and GR/IR.
but when I checked the accounting document, these my expectations were not met, because:
    - the line item for stock increase (transaction BSX) has not been valuated using the exchange rate defined in the document type in field T003-KURST, but a differet exchange rate that I didnu2019t find defined for this couple of currencies;
    - the line for GR/IR increase (transaction WRX) has been valuated as expected using the exchange rate defined in the Purchase Order and indicated as fixed;
    - the line item for difference (transaction PRD) between stock and GR/IR has been created.
The help (F1) for field T003-KURST, show the following indication:
Exch.Rate Type for Determining the Proposed Rate
Rate type under which the proposed rate is defined for foreign currency documents.
    Use
If no exchange rate is specified in the document header when entering documents in foreign currencies, the system will automatically select a rate from the currency translation rate table.  The system then converts all amounts in the document's line items using this exchange rate.
The system uses the average rate as a default value as long as no other exchange rate type is entered here.
Based on this message, my expectation is that all documentu2019s line items have to be converted at the exchange rate type defined in field T003-KURST. And in the case mentioned above, the line for stock (BSX) should be converted at exchange rate type defined in field T003-KURST.
While, correctly, the line for GR/IR (WRX) has been converted at the exchanged rate fixed in the purchase order.
Can you please let me know how can be fixed the problem for the line related to the stock allowing the conversion using the exchange rate type defined in field T003-KURST?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Jody

    Hello Jody,
kindly consider the information contained under the attached note:
191927 - Posting logic: GR for foreign currency PO.
    As stated in it:
Postings to the material stock account (BSX):
In order to be able to determine the value of the stock posting, the
valuation methods which exist in the material master in local currency
(standard price, total value of stock) must be converted into document
currency. This translation is thus carried out on the posting date with
the exchange rate type that is assigned to the FI document type used,
that is, independent from the exchange rate defined in the purchase
    order!
If no exchange rate type is assigned to an FI document type, the system
    uses exchange rate type M.
Please, check in your system the settings stored in the customizing
transaction OBF4 for the document type WE (Goods receipt). If the field
'Exch.Rate Type for foreign currency documents' is empty, the exchange
    rate type M is used.
The fixed conversion rate in the purchase order refers to the valuation
approach in the purchase order and, therefore, to the costs for the
purchased material. Therefore, the posting amount to the GR/IR clearing
account (WRX) is converted according to the fixed conversion rate in the
    purchase order header.
On the other side the fixed conversion rate in the purchase order is not
designed for converting the posting values to the material stock account
(BSX). This conversion reflects the situation of the valuation of the
material stock and is therefore designed to be independent of the
conversion rate defined in the purchase order. This is what note 191927
    outlines.
In the note 191927 you will also locate relevant information about the
    postings to the KDM key:
    Exchange rate differences (KDM):
As of Release 4.0A, exchange rate differences (KDM) can be posted to a
separate account. The exchange rate differences result from the
difference of the clearing value on the GR/IR clearing account (WRX) in
document currency that is translated to the current exchange rate stored
in the system in local currency from the clearing value in local
currency that is determined with the conversion factor from the purchase
    order or the invoices.
The offsetting entry for the exchange rate differences is settled with
    the price difference.
(Price difference = GR/IR amount - stock value - exchange rate
    difference)
KDM is only posted during the GR if the flag T169P-XPLCU is initial,
therefore, KDM postings will not occur during incoming invoices.
This is determined in the IMG path:
    Materials Management
    -> Logistics Invoice Verification
       -> Incoming Invoice
-> Configure How Exchange Rate Differences Are Treated
Here, you have the following options per Company Code:
.- The exchange rate differences will be calculated from the difference
between the exchange rate at the time of the goods receipt and the
exchange rate at the time of the invoice receipt.
.- The exchange rate differences will be calculated from the difference
between the exchange rate at the time of the invoice receipt and an
assumed exchange rate that is valid for a specific amount of time,
such as a year or a season.
.- No exchange rate differences will be calculated. Instead, differences
from exchange rate variations will be considered as price differences
and posted to a price difference account.
The field T001A-CURDT for the company code will determine which date is
relevant to calculate the exchange rate difference.
This is set under the IMG path:
    Financial Accounting
    -> Financial Accounting Global Settings
       -> Company Code
          -> Multiple Currencies
             -> Define Additional Local Currencies
So, finally, the value for KDM calculates as difference between
GR/IR amount in local currency - GR/IR amount in foreign
    currency*exchange rate.
I hope this information can be of help.
    cheers
    ray

  • Process for billing the customer if the repair does not fall under warranty

    Hello,
I got one issue related to repair process, We have restricled the item quantity to only one at item categoty level. BUt i am facing the below problem with my cklient
what is best practice for billing the customer if the repair does not fall under warranty?
Please suggest which process i suggest to client

    Hi there,
When you mean warranty, where is that updated in the system? In any master data or Z table?
Usual practise is basing on the serial num of the material. From the serial num, users will be able to back track from which sales order this material is initially delivered to the customer. The info is stored in standard tables (for eg EQUI)
One way of doing this is to define a 100% discount condition type in your pricing. Thsi discount will apply only when the customer is in warranty. For this you will need to write a code in teh requirement routine for that condition type in V/08. If warranty is stored in a Z table, then call that Z table & compare it with your sales order. If yes, only then 100% discount will apply & repair cost will be zero. Else, repair charge will be billed to customer.
It depends how your business will monitor repairs. If they raise a service order, then you will need to define a service pricing procedure in which you will include the 100% discount. In this case service order is always referenced with ref to a sales order.

  • Requirement for getting the VAT Taxes automatically from the vendor invoice

    Dear All,
We Have a Requirement for getting the VAT Taxes automatically from the vendor invoice in to the Sales invoice after invoice verification process. Is this feasible?. Can anybody explain how this can be done to overcome this issue.
    Thanking you,
    Best regards,
    R.Srinivasan

    hi,
technically i do not think tht can be done. but even from functional part its incorrect in the sense tht the values on which tax is calculated in purchase may be very different from tht in sales. so we may never get the correct picture.

  • Regarding configuration of "Parameters for determining the basic dates"

    Hi All,
Can anyone give inputs in which scenario we need to use the configuration "Parameters for determining the basic dates".
1)Do we have any restrictions for usage of above IMG configuration, 2) any pre-requisites to use the configuration of "Parameters for determining the basic dates" and 3)does configuration of this task is having any integration with any other modules, if yes what is the point of integration with other modules.
    Thanks in advance.

    Dear Aditya,
Parameters for determining the basic dates in production order are used to calculate the Basic Start date & End date of Production order. It Determines if and how the basic dates or the dependent requirements dates are adjusted during lead time scheduling. You can customize this in OPU3 for planned order & OPU5 for Production Order.
    There are the following possibilities:
1.The basic dates are adjusted and the dependent requirements are scheduled for the start dates of the relevant operations.
2.The basic dates are not adjusted and the dependent requirements are scheduled for the start dates of the relevant operations.
3.The basic dates are adjusted and the dependent requirements are scheduled for the order basic start date.
4.The basic dates are not adjusted and the dependent requirements are scheduled for the order basic start date.
1)Do we have any restrictions for usage of above IMG configuration
For scheduling this has to be. If you want that start date should be calculated based on Inhouse production time & not on routing select opetion 2 or 4
    2) any pre-requisites to use the configuration of "Parameters for determining the basic dates"
    Not as such
3)does configuration of this task is having any integration with any other modules
Not directly but with MM to determine dependent requirement Proposal.

    Hello,
This is the text from the SPRO activity help:
    1.3.9.3.3 Data Transfer from SAP
    Use
You can copy the following system data from SAP into the System LandscapeMaintenance (SMSY):
    - Name,
    - System number,
    - Installation number
    - Product version.
All data can be copied from SLD or RFC connection. This is an alternative for service providers who
have no, or only restricted, connection to their customers via SLD or RFC.
    Requirements
You have determined or maintained the customer numbers for the systems to be generated.
    Default Settings
The system automatically generates IBase components, which you need for the Service Desk and Change
Management scenarios. If you do not want IBase to be generated automatically:
    1. Choose the transaction DNO_CUST04.
    2. Deselect the field: IB_GEN_AUTO (description: Automatic IBase Generation).
    3. Save.
    Activities
    Set Automatic Generation flag
    You can:
    1. Generate all systems per customer number, or
    2. Generate systems per installation number
Case 1: Flag/check whether all systems with a customer number are to be generated, and maintain the
maintenance view V_AISAPCUSTNOS. In this case, the system ignores the flag at installation level.
Case 2:If you select installations for which systems are to be generated, maintain the maintenance view
    V_AIINSNRS.
    Maintain Settings in SMSY_SETUP
    4. Choose: Edit -> Expert Settings.
    5. Enter the value A or N for the option Generate Systems by OSS:
    - A: Systems are only generated if a 3-digit alpha-numeric ID has been specified for the customer
in maintenance view V_BP_SPC, to distinguish the long names of systems with different
customer numbers, e.g. a system SOL for the customer SAP would be SOLSAP01.
    - N: New systems are numbered sequentially when they are generated. System SOL would be
    SOL00001.
    6. Save.
Data is created by background job REFRESH_ADMIN_DATA_FROM_SUPPORT , which
should be scheduled regularly. If you want to copy the data immediately, you can schedule it
immediately . Check in the job log of transaction SM37 that it ran successfully.
Note: The user under which the job runs must be in the table AISUSER , with authorization for
system data maintenance in the SAP Support Portal.
    I hope this information helps.

  • Can i maintain a same number for both the customer and vendor

    Hi all,
i have a scenario, as a vendor is supplying some assembly  components to the client. the client is assembling the components. and sending the same to the vendor
since the same person is acting as a vendor and a customer i want a common number for both the vendor and customer in their master data's.
    Thanks
    KV
Edited by: krishna vamshi on Nov 27, 2010 12:20 PM

It's not mandatory to use the same ID for vendor and customer if they are the same entity, you can use different IDs w/o any problem.
It might be difficult, if you are using internal number assignment. It may occur that the ID is already occupied by a vendor or customer.
You can link your customer to your vendor both in XK01/XK02 (LFA1-KUNNR; control tab) and XD01/XD02 (KNA1-LIFNR; "Control Data" tab). One assignment is enough.
In this case you can always see, which customer belongs to which vendor.
Sometimes plant vendors, customers are defined via external number assignment, to have the same ID as the plant, but this should be decided in advance...(separate account group is used generally, with separate number range)

  • Need Help in improving logic for determining the range

    Hi guys,
I need some help in my program logic to determine the range of value. My purpose of this program is to find which combinations have the lowest amplitude.
In the attachment is a set of number.
    e.g 10    0 is a combination.
Each combination, I will need to draw a graph of data acquired using this combination VS gray level. There is 255 gray level. Every 5 gray level I will acquire a point so I will have 52 points.
Next, I will get the maximum value - minimum value. And this is the amplitude for the combination. I can do all this function, however it is not practical for me to do it this way until 360 360. There is a round 1200+ combination. It requires a long time since I need to interface all this function with my hardware.
The graph of each combination maybe a irregular shape. Do any of you have a logic to help me to shorten the process and find the range of values (combination) where the lowest amplitude may lies. Thanks!!
    Attachments:
    example.txt ‏11 KB

    Hi Johnsold,
This is a example of my result. This is only a portion of it. The last column is the amplitude, I store all the 52 points into array and used Array Min and Max function. Then I use max - min to get the amplitude. From the amplitude I cannot see any pattern. Can you please advice me on it. Thanks!!!
