Run procedure:=Top level procedure/function specified; cannot have subparts

I get this error when trying to run any procedure I've used ODT11 to make.. I literally right click the icon of the procedure in the server explorer tree and choose Run, and get the error. If I choose Run Debug, VS2008 hangs

Can't reproduce:

I noticed that one of the changes since the last release was:
"View Package Spec and Body - now decompose to display procedures and functions "
I tried doing this in Rel 2 but there is still no decomposition of procedures/functions.Maybe I have misunderstood what was being said ?

Thats a very good point about navigating to the point in a package spec of body where the sub-object resides.
In cases where packages are thousands of lines long and have numerous procedures/functions, debugging code is difficult if you cant jumpt to points in code that the navigator shows you are there.
This is one of the few things that plsql navigator does better than Toad in my opinion and I'd happuily use Raptor over both of these if it can emulate what was asked in the last post.

Running multiple vi's in top level app at same time.

hello, i am wondering on how to run multiple vi's under the same top level application. if i have a top level application that has multiple buttons that call other vi's, is there a way to minimize one of the sub vi's and open another. i keep having problems because i think that the top level application needs the first sub vi to close befor you can call another sub vi. i attach an example i found in the ni examples as an example. thank you.

Add a list from a subsite to the top level site SharePoint 2013

Hello, I am trying to display a calendar from sub site to the top level home page and cannot seem to make it happen. I have opened the calendar in SPD and saved that as a webpart file to my desktop and then uploaded into the app gallery and web
part list and when I go to add it to the top level home page I get the following error: 'List does not exist' 'The page you selected contains a list that does not exist. It may have been deleted by another user." Any idea?

Please perform the steps below:
Access calendar list in subsite, in the Customize List tab, click Edit List. It will open SharePoint Designer.
In Views tab, click Calendar, it will open list view in Advanced mode, and you will see code.
Delete the part between <ZoneTemplate> and </ZoneTemplate>
click INSERT in the toolbar > DataView > click calendar list > List View Tools bar appears in green color.
Click WEB PART, save web part to site gallery (ensure you have site-level admin permission)
Access root-site, insert web part to page, the web part is in Miscellaneous category.

Front panel of a vi pops up when i start my top level vi how can i stop this

i have a vi that whos front panel should display when the user clicks a front panel button(test instructions),
however this vi pops up when i run the top level vi. I can manually close the vi, but how do i stop this?
i tried modifying the Sub VI Set up properties, but that doesnt work.

Hi jknapp,
As egraham has pointed out, you can customize the window appearance of your sub VI from the VI Properties. If you go to File » VI Properties, then under Category select Window Appearance and then Customize..., you should be able to control how the sub VI appears. Hope this helps!

Can we hide filter in Search Master agreements standard top level query?

I have a requirement to hide flter in standard Search Master Agreements top level query. See below screen shot
I have an idea how to delete filter in query but when i have added that query to top level navigation i don't have any idea.
So i want to hide Business Unit & Region filter in Search Master Agreement query when it is in top level navigation.
If anyone have idea please share with me how to hide.

Hi Lava,
It is not a filter but this a Standard field which is coming from the Master Agreement.
So, you cannot hide or even delete any field.
But if it is a custom field you can hide it by inactivating the respective field in Extension Defination.

What is the criteria for a post to show up in the top-level MacBook area?

I thought that the newest posts from the "Using your MacBook" section always showed up in the top-level MacBook section (here):

But I have noticed several threads that aren't showing up in the top-level area, even though they have new posts. Has the behavior changed recently??? What is the criteria for getting your post to show up in that area? It seems to be the place where you get the most answers...

DFS-R Top level NTFS Permissions

Hi,
As part of my setup, I'm trying to implement a new DFS-R share between 2x Windows 2003 R2 and 1x 2008 R2 servers
I've been experimenting with the DFS-R, and I've found that if I try to change the NTFS partitions of the top-most folder, then these permissions are not replicated to the other duplicates on the other servers. Sub-file and sub-folder Perms are.
I've also found that if I do modify the top-level folder, than that server stops replicating to the others - with no errors in the event logs ! Disaster !! In my testing, all I did was add another users read access, and then that stops replication!!
So - if I need to control the top-level perms, do they all have to be in sync and setup manually ?

Sorry I had to actually setup the server on the remote site. So no - I'm still seeing issues.
I ran that DFSutil on serv14. I don't know why it doesn't show the ClientApps DFS replication.

Create view that shows resource work in hours per month for top level tasks on the project

I'm relatively new to project so hopefully this is easy.
The management for the organization I am working at now wants me to break out every resource on the projects hours by top level tasks per month. Resource usage gets very close but I can't figure out how to make it show only the top level tasks. Does anyone
have any ideas on how to do this?

I'd suggest (assuming you're working with Project Standard, not connected to Project Server) to generate a visual Excel report (project tab of the ribbon, then visual report), choosing the Budget work report template. Then in Excel, inserting the resource
and task column, you'll see the work consolidated at any task level by resources.

Format Text tab is missing from Edit on Top Level Site home page

Hello,
Hoping for some help - not sure where to go with this.
I've been working on a SharePoint site for my company.
I need to change the top level site main page text layout to 3 columns.
I am pretty sure I was able to do this a few days ago but now when I edit the page the Format Text tab is not there.
I can get it on all my sub sites, just not the top level site.
I must have screwed this up somehow but I haven't a clue as to how to get it back.

Hi Steve,
It sounds as though the site template for your root web is a team site or general collaboration site that is using content pages stored in the sitepages library. Is that correct? If you are using publishing features than you could set a custom layout in
the "pages" tab, but it sounds as though you do not have this feature.
A workaround could be to create a new page with 3 columns, copy your homepage content to this new page and finally set the new page as your homepage.

Only detect presence or absence of top level folders.

If a top level folder is missing, please have Lightroom assume that all subfolders are missing on revmovable drives. If the drive is reattached and LT sees the top folder again, please let it assume that all the subfolders are there also, until we use a file that is not actually there.
Long winded waiting on drives after reconnection is not necessary. Or at least give us an option to tell Lightroom that the drive is actually there, don't bother checking further.

Unfortunately it does not working. I am using jboss AS 7.

- ear contains war
- the war contains the beans.xml (with alternative entry) in WEB-INF
- jar B is located in war in WEB-INF/lib (jar B contains also beans.xml in META-INF)
- injection point is in a JSF controller (jar in WEB-INF/lib in war)
Always I1 is injected. But I do not know if I explained it clearly. I1 is always present. I2 is optional but shall have a higher priority.

To run mutipal SQLs in one procedure / function

And in total we probably will need to run around 100 scripts like this every time. Basically what we are doing is to import new tables every time and recreate/rebuild indexes. As you may see in the sample scripts above, all tables keep the same suffix but different table names. So, for now, what we are doing is to manually modify the script to reflex changes then kick it off.
Now, how can I create a procedure/function stored in database and waiting for a EXEC command to pass the suffix and then run automatically?

Use DBMS_STATS package instead of 'analyze'. 'ANALYZE' is deprecated and may not exist in future releases.
Again - what you are trying to do (build tables/indexes on the fly) is extremely wrong.
Add a DATE column and keep everything in one table. You can then just add the PARTITION clause for EE instances.
(against my better judgement)
Two methods exist to run dynamically generated DDL statements:
EXECUTE IMMEDIATE
DBMS_SQL -- I'm not 100% sure on this one. read the manual.
If you are dynamically generating the SQL, help limit SQL Injection by using DBMS_ASSERT on any user provided input.

Actually I want to create an object view or object table with all the details of division, department , cost center and operation and it will store depending upon the respective upper level hirarcy 's id.For eg. department details can be fetched through division id etc..

So by selecting divisionID=01, how can I easily select all depts,cost centers and Operation details?
Again I have another problem , when try to retrive record using PL/SQL I got some problem.

Kill a stored procedure/function

Hi Experts,
I have requirement to kill or terminate the stored procedure/function through UI.
Is there anyway to kill or terminate the stored procedure/function in oracle.
Note:-it shouldn't impact the other running Stored procedures/functions.

Some basics first.
You do not kill a procedure or function. You kill the process executing it.
The ALTER SYSTEM KILL SESSION command does not kill a process (session). It requests that process to terminate by communicating with the process via the SGA. If that process is in a synchronous kernel call (and waiting for that call to complete), the process is unable to even check the SGA, never mind respond to a kill-yourself instruction. Which means it cannot terminate itself.
User (application) code does NOT need the ALTER SYSTEM priv. That will be a very serious security violation. So if you do want to allow user code to make use of that priv to kill user sessions/processes, then you need to wrap that into a secure interface that user code can use. Such as a SYS owned KillUserSession() procedure, executing with definer rights, and ensuring the caller can only kill sessions that it owns (e.g. if caller is schema SCOTT, then only SCOTT sessions can be killed).
Last comment. Killing user sessions is kind of stupid. As that means you loose. You cannot design properly. You cannot code properly. And to establish some kind of sanity in processing, The Very Large Hammer needs to be employed. Killing sessions does NOT fix the problem. It treats the symptom. The problem is still there.
And to add a treat-the-symptom-by-killing-the-session button on a .Net (or any other) application? That is, IMO, four-letter-words epic lame.
What is the real problem?
