    Hi Sam,
You really need to explore yourself on that. For example if you want to find out the processes in say Cement industry, just google in Cement sales process and you will get some of the industry standards, processes and so on. From there you can build on it. This has to be exploratory only and there is no standard set of processes for each industry. Though the common processes are there, variations are abundant.
Just get into help.sap.com and search for each verticals, you will get the process standards for every kind of industry SAP has IS on.

business process in sd module starts from pre sales activities & ends in billing or payment collection....... pls tell the answer....

    Hello,
It depends upon the business process of the client. some time it will be like
Inquiry --> Quotation --> Sales order --> Delivery --> Goods Issue --> Invoice --> Payment.
But in some of the cases enquiry may not be there in the process, and even some cases quotation too and these both are not madatory.
In SD point of view we are only bothered upto invoice, but the process end once we receive the payment.

  • Difference between business process, sales process and order process

what is the difference between business process, sales process and order process?

    Dear Gopala,
business process is a general definition of the process which you have:
for example, you get an order, you have no goods, but you can produce them, you start an assambly processing, the production order will be created, then the goods will be prepatred, then the delivery will be created, the goods issue booked then your customer gets thwe goods and send the delivery confirmation, you create an invoice etc.etc.
sales process is a part of  a business process.
Sales process shows how you sell the goods, there are different sales document  categories to do this: sales orders, contracts, scheduling agreements etc.
order process is only one of possibilities of the sales process.
Order process is used if you get really a one-time (or at lease not on a regular basis many times) the simple orders where your customer says what goods he would like to receive and when. Then you create a sales order (in dialog transaction VA01) and can create a delivery. There are different types of sales orders in the standard. The customizing of sales order types is available under the transaction VOV8.
I hope, this info help you a little bit further to understand SD design.
    Kind regards,

  • Business Process and Sales process

    Hi Gurus,
Will somebody explain me the Difference between " Business Process and Sales Process"
    Thanks & Regards
    Srikanth

    Hi Srikant,
Sales process is related to only sales and Distribution which means from Sales to Billing, But in business process it includes other business aspects like accounting principles, etc, i.e it includes all processes of all the modules.
For SD point of view in interview your answer should be all SD scenarios.
    reward if it helps.

  • Sales Forum Mandate - Business Process Topics

    Hello All,
I would like to inform you of the mandate of this forum.  We are looking to build a knowledge base on business process oriented questions as they relate to sales.  So the questions posed should somehow relate to a business issue and should not be a purely technical issue.
For example, please do not post threads about implementation issues, customizing, BAPIs, etc.  These types of questions will be better answered in CRM General and Framework forum.
You can ask questions here about how new and old functionality in CRM supports the business processes you have at your company.
Thank-you for respecting the mandate of the forum.

    Hi Kimmo,
I wouldn't use process steps to refine processes. This is incompatible to SAP implementation content coming from BPR (Business Process Repository). But a good idea would be to copy the main business process e.g. "Sales order processing" into two new processes on the same level, e.g. "Sales order processing by manual input" (variation1) or "Sales order processing by incoming interface" (variation2). Then you can use the Compare Button on the variations to see if any changes have been on the main business process and copy them to the variations. This minimizes the effort to keep track of changes after creating the variations. When you run transaction SA_PROJECT_UPGRADE on that project these changes even get flagged. Mostly this function is used to upgrade against BPR or a template project but it works also for copies inside a project e.g. to model variations.

  • Business process reg. SAP in retail or multichain sales

    Hi,
Can u tell the business process reg. SAP in retail or multichain sales ?
    RAAJ

    Hello László,
in a nutshell BPM Netweaver is focussing on so called edge-processes (usually
SOA-based and often workflow related). These edge-processes a thought to enhance exisitng core business processes and should provide the fast competitive edge versus competitors. Examples would be also xApps. For this Netweaver provides process modelling tools, where you can get exectuable code through the integration between CE and PI. The monitoring part for these processes is mainly targeting business end-users and business manager.
Business Process Monitoring with Solution Manager focusses on core business processes which are realized with the "conventional", "old"  SAP Architecture, e.g. Order-to-Cash or Procure-to-Pay. You get a combination of technical monitors (average response times of transactions, background job runtimes, monitors for IDOC or qRFC processing) and application related monitors (you get more than 200 pre-configured application monitors out-of-the-box like number of overdue customer orders or outbound deliveries or number of deliveries with goods issue posted but no invoice). The target group here is the support organization of the customer, from Basis-Support over application support on IT side to process owner on business department side.
Overview presentations can be found under
    https://service.sap.com/bpm --> Media Library --> Customer Information -->
    "Business Process Monitoring - Part 1 & 2".
    Or look under https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/nw-processmonitoring
In the end BPM Netweaver and BPMon SolMan are complementary for different purposes and different target groups.

  • Business Process - Sales Process through Distribution point but revenue booked to Manufacturing Profit Center

    Dear Expats
Our company now planning to decentralized the sales by introducing Sales distribution Point.
We have three manufacturing plant and every manufacturing plant are individual profit center.
    Material is same.
Now company is planning to introducing sales distribution point.
Goods transfer from three manufacturing plant to sales distribution point and sale from the distribution point.
Now our requirement is - revenue will be booked to every manufacturing profit center.
How can we process this business process.
Note : We don't want to create separate material code - manufacturing plant wise.
    Regards
    Tarek H Chy

    Hi
    I have the issue like..
    1.  For each line item of the sales order check, whether the profit center is filled or not, if it is not filled then determine the profit center and populate.
    2. If material of the line item is "sub component code" of a material that is "Offering component code", then compare the profit centers of line item with the profit center maintained for the material that is offering component code.  If the profit centers are different, replace the sales order line item profit center with the profit center of the offering component code material.
    3.  Above activities should happen when the sales order is saved.
can somebody tell me which user exit ?? where coding can be dine.

  • Defining Business Processes around Sales

Shortly, I will be kicking off the Sales / Mrktg area and wondering if anyone has defined their models around business processes. If so I would appreciated some of the sales processes (most granular level) you have defined in your models.
    Thanks so much

Has anyone implemented Sales models via JDE as a data source?

Can you give me a step by step approach for setting up the ITS connections for these business packages and pull the data?
I have created the sytem with same name as given in the error i.e.SAP_R3_SalesService
I have given the ITS connection parameters for this system name.
Now i went to "Connection Tests". Checked "ITS connection" and hit Test.
    Here it gives the following.
    Results
    1. The system object represents an SAP system.
    2. The following parameters are valid: wap.ITS.path (sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui) ; wap.ITS.protocol (http) ; wap.ITS.hostname (xxxx.xx.dir.xxxx.com:8080)
    3. HTTP/S connection failed. Make sure the protocol, host name, and user mapping are correctly defined.
Step 2 says that the host name and protocol that i gave is correct.
I did the user mapping under the link "Personalize".
If i have to do the user mappping under User Administration->User Mapping, i am not able to see the sytem name "SAP_R3_SalesService" in the drop down.

Hi all, can any send me the Business Process Procedure for B2B and B2C Scenarios.
    thanks in advance
    [email protected]

    Hi Vasanth,
Well in both the cases the generic business process will not be very different.
I mean in both the cases authentication will be there from users.
once you enter into the webshop you will have the options of make inquiry, order, delivery status, billing status
Infact a visit to any webshop like ebay may be of help to you.
You need to take care of folowing details also:
How are incomplete transmissions handled and reconciled?
    How are duplicate transactions reconciled?
What authentication method is used for the customer?
What credentials are passed to SAP?
Are the credentials encoded and triggered within the web?
How are such SAP external credentials stored/ protected?
If storing static credentials by process, are the execute versus read authorities assigned on the web as defined by the operating system (OS)?
Are there considerations made for load balancing?
    Between SAP systems and clients?
    Between web servers?
What roles and responsibilities exist for business processes?
Is IT, through configuration, managing business agreements?
How are changes to the web site tracked and reconciled with SAP transport
    strategies?
Is SAP data stored externally on web servers after extraction?
How is this external SAP data protected?
Does the web server force SAP data to expire?
What are the business and process costs associated with all of the above and is
management aware of the business risk of not taking these steps?
    Hope this helps you.
Do award points if you found them useful.
    Regards,
    Rakesh
P.S. you can send me a mail at my mail id [email protected] for any specific details

  • Sale order costing process : Help required

    Hello All,
Belatted Happy New Year 2011 to all.
I have a question related to Sale Order Costing. It goes like this,
My client is into Pipe coating business who receives the pipe from the customers, coats it as per there requirements and despatches it thereon. There is no concept of FG here as its only the service he is doing on it and also when he receives the pipe there is no raw material cost on it. Raw materials for him would be chemicals etc which he uses to coat the pipe.
And also this demands variant configuration from SD and PP angel.
As this scenario is customer specific, it demands Sale Order based costing(Sale order cost estimate).
My doubt is, how the sale order costing process goes with.
In general scenarios, Make to stock, we use production order based costing where standard cost estimate is calculated for planned cost and actuals are incurred on PO settling the variance to COPA
Similarly how the costing goes with if Sale order cost estimate is used. What i think is, here instead of Standard cost estimate for plan, we will go with Sale order cost estimate at sale order level, and incur actual cost at production order and settle the cost of Production order to Sale order. Correct me if i am wrong, and request you ppl there to explain me the process of costing in the scenario said above.
apart from that, my client wants the flexibility to change the cost estimate at quotation level.
Please suggest me with solution explaining the process of costing here.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ravi Kumar

    Hi Ravi
Your understanding of the scenario is very much right...
In your case, you need to have sales order as cost object...
    Process
Your stock would be non valuated stock, because the FG is not your stock.. You are just doing a service
Based on the characteristics chosen in the Sales orders, system would determine the Sales order BOM
Based on sales order BOM, Sales order cost estimate would be calculated....
You would receive the Customer pipe in your stock against the sales order... It would be a non valuated GR... You can track the Qty only
Sales order would trigger a production order... The prod order can have its planned cost, which is only for information sake
The Customer Pipe, Chemicals would be issued to prod order to coat the pipe... And also Labor/machine hrs may be confirmed
There after your production order would be settled on Sales order
Then you would do PGI (Post Goods Isue).. This will not trigger any accounting doc
Then you do billing... The sales revenue would be posted on the sales order
Then you settle the sales order to COPA.. This will close the cycle
    Configuration
The IMG Settings required would be as below
    1. You would use account assignment category (AAC) E
    2. Create a Requirement class with
    a. AAC = E.... (Means sales order is CO Object)
    b. Valuation Indicator = BLANK (Means Non Valuated Stock)
    c. Costing ID/Costing Method = As per your choice to calculate the Sales order cost estimate
    3. Assign this req class to Requirement Type
    4. Give this req type to your PP/SD team.. They would assign it to Strategy group / Item Category to determine it in the sales order

  • Business Process: Final Demand Plan Key Figure in the past for APO DP

    Hello APO process experts,
I have a BPX question for APO DP process owners, consultants or gurus:
1.- Have you ever seen in any SAP APO customer, that in their APO DP planning books, they chose or designed to update the Final Demand Plan key Figure in the past closed historical buckets with the Actual Sales?
Meaning that that in the Past closed historical Buckets, Actual Sales and Final Demand Plan, look exactily the same.
Meaning that they create a dynamic Final Demand Plan key figure so to speak, yet they did not choose to create a key figure that also keeps the Final Demand Plan as originally entered.
2.- Would you think that doing the above, without keeping any keyfigure in the planning book that actually shows what the Final Demand Plan was in the Past, is a good practice?
The Demand Planner could still retreive the Final Demand Plan from BI reports, yet, dynamically they could never really see it in the planning book.
3.- Do you think the above dynamic key figure would bias the Demand Planner's behaviour to manipulate the future open Final Demand Plan buckets to enter volumes in order sum to a monthly total, independently of what were the over and underachievements in the past (since they are not really visible to him) ?
I would really like your feedback,
    thanks in advance!

    Hello Thanks for your feedback.
I agree with your point, and I hope that i still get more feedback from other Business Process Experts.
I am trying to build a case for my client, to challenge the decision of their initial design as this practice is going to hurt the Demand Management process, if what they intend to achieve is a true "unconstrained demand plan"
    Much appreciated
