  • Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Remote prob

I have had this problem ever since I bought the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum.
My creative remote works fine but the<!--StartFragment --> External I/O Module accepts any sigal from any of my other remote controls. So if I want to change anything else in the room like the tvchannel or increas volume on the amplifier, the audigy thinks that i want to change someting like mute och start mediasource player.
At first i thought this was normal but now I cant find anyone else with the same problem.
Everything works fine except for the remote problem. Is this enough to get a new Audigy 2 ZS Platinum?

JRe: Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum - Speaker issues not covered by FAQs0 I'm afriad that the CMSS3D option did not work? ? I still cannot get any speakers to play out of the rear of the soundcard.
As I said before, the goal is to try to get sound to play out of both the headset and the speakers attached to the rear of the soundcard simuntaneously.
The headset is plugged into one of those devices in the front that is in a 5 & /4" bay that has the individual knobs for adjusting volume for the headset and outbound levels for the microphone.
The speakers are plugged into the back of the soundcard and do not play any sound in any of the sockets, starting from the firewire port and counting 3 over.
Any suggestions? I? thought it might have something to do with the setting of the speakers from control panel - > Sounds and Audio Devices -> Advanced and picking the right choice there. No luck however. Same for the Creative Speaker Settings as well.
I'm at wits end and I'd be very thankful to whoever can resolve this for me. =)

  • Audigy 2 ZS Platinum - Remote Control not work

hello all.. Sorry for beating a dead horse. My installation on a P4 3.0 ghz machine of the Audigy 2 was flawless. All hardware diagnostics that have been run have been successful. Everything works. I updated all drivers. Everything is functional on the unit.....but...the remote control doesn't work.
When I got to setup the remote control and it asks to select a transmitter (rm-500) from a drop down list, it shows rm-500. but it the drop down list for the receiver is BLANK? I've tried several suggestions from the forum but it still doesn't work.
Have I missed something or is it quite possibly just a dud unit that I have to take back.
thanks for all suggestions and ideas...

OK, let's see, you have a device that is still under warranty. You properly installed said device. You put batteries in the remote but it does not work no matter what you try. It seems to me that you have only one option and you mentioned it in the penultimate sentence in your post.
    Hope it's not a long dri've.:smileyvery-happy:

  • SB AUDIGY 2 ZS PLATINUM - REMOTE NOT WORK

I've installed the SB 2 ZS Platinum into my new system and everything is working correctly except for the remote. I've removed the plastic strip from the battery compartment but when a button is pressed nothing seems to happen. I would expect to see a light on the front of the remote illuminate but it does not. Perhaps there is no light that illuminates when a button is pressed!!!! I would at least expect the volume controls to have an effect on the volume. Nothing happens. I have power to the face plate and the headphone jack and volume control do work. The IEEE 394 port is also working. Any suggestions?

  • Audigy 2 ZS Platinum remote fighting Logitech DiNovo rem

    Hey,
I have had the 2ZS for awhile now and it's worked great. I just purchased Logitech's Bluetooth DiNovo keyboard and it also has a media controller function. Can I get the two to work together? The DiNovo took over and the 2ZS remote doesn't do anything now. Has anyone ran into this or am I blazing a trail here? Lemme know...
    Thanks in advance,

hi, I am wondering if i connect the optical digital output in the front of the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum to my Logitech <B>Z5500</B> optical digital input, will i be able to get sourround sound when i play CD or mp3 files? If it works, do i need to change some settings? Or is there a way i can get sourround sounds through the <B>Z5500</B>? If i cant get sourround sound, never mind. thanks alot.

The 4 pin connector is plugged in and the larger 4 pin connector is plugged into the power supply but I've got a spare power cable just like it that I want to try and I can't seem to unplug the smaller connector. Is it even possible to do this?

  • Help Needed : Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro Hub doesn't w

    Hi all,
I got a wierd problem with my SB Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro. The external Hub is VERY unstable, I mean that I own my SB card for two weeks now and I have the following behaviour:
    * Midi IN on external HUb doesn't works. "SB Audigy 2 ZS MIDI IO 2" is not visible on all MIDI applications (but "SB Audigy 2 ZS" yes!)
    * CMSS light on external Hub doesn't turn green when I turn CMSS on
    * OSD doesn't show and sound volume does not change when I change volume from the external Hub button.
    * Remote control doesn't works but red light flash on the external Hub when I press a button on the remote control.
    * FYI the optical out is always red which seems to say that the optical out is working correctly (but I haven't tested it because I have nothing to connect on it)
For complexifying the problem I succeed in making all this stuff works only TWO times (in tow weeks) by reinstalling drivers and NOT restarting the computer. In this configuration, all the previous points works. I means that I can connect my midi keyboard to the Hub and play music thought the MIDI IO (and "SB Audigy 2 ZS MIDI IO 2" is available when everything works), I can use the remote control, OSD is showing etc ...
I have really no idea why it was working only two times during these two weeks and I reinstalled the drivers and all softwares at least 5 times, rebooted the PC 30 times, etc ...
Does anybody encoutered and solved the same problem ? Does my Hub must be changed.
For your information, I have checked the internal configuration of my soundcard and everything seems to be correctly connected (including alim). I have also connected correctly the Two AD_Link cables. I have Windows XP SP2 on Intel 3Ghz with GB memory on Soltek QBIC system. No antivirus loaded.
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance.
    UPDATE :
I had the support by phone yesterday and for the moment they have no explanation on what's going on ! I will try to phone again to the support tomorrow for advancing. For information they proposed me to do the following tests:
    - Does the optical out light is red when my hub doesn't work - the response is yes
2- Does I have installed correctly the Hub alim - the response is yes
3- Does I have installed correctly the connection cables between hub and card - The response is yes
For information my analysis is that is doesn't comes from the software as when the hub work the CMSS light turn green during the boot of windows XP, moreover in computer science the behavious is most of the time reproductible. So from my mind it could comes from the following point:
a- PC Alim not powerful enouth
    b- bad connection cables
c- hub is not working and need to be changed

    Jminardi,
I think I am in agreement with conclusion b or c. Although there are a couple things to check, first off go to Device Manager and go to view/resources by type. In here look and see what the IRQ assigned to the Audigy 2 ZS is and see if it is sharing with anything important like the video card. If so you might try another PCI slot just to sure there aren't difficulties caused by this. If everything checks out you might want to call tech support back and try to arrange a repair on the external box and cables.

  • SB Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro stutter during DVD playb

I've just recently installed the SB Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro into my PVR. I am connecting to my stereo system via the SPDIF connector using a coax cable. I've set, via AudioHQ, to pass through any Dobly Digital and DTS signals to my amp therefore the Audigy card is doing no decoding of any kind for digital signals.
The player I'm using is the latest VideoLAN player available (v0.8.4a) and have also set the player to use SPDIF output. When I try to playback my DVD's using VLC, the audio stutters constantly. I know it's not a DVD problem because when I switch the player back to normal stereo, the audio comes through fine.
My amp also detects the signal properly as it goes from Dolby Pro Logic to either Dolby Digital or DTS depending on which audio track I use from the DVD.
My system has a P4 3.0GHz CPU, GB RAM, 200GB HD (partitioned 0GB for OS, ~80GB for PVR recording, 0GB swap), with XP SP2. My swap is system managed and the OS has set it to ~.5GB.
Has anyone experienced the same or similar problem? Any help would be appreciated as I've banged my head against the wall all weekend long trying to figure this out.
    TIA...

  • Audigy 2 ZX Platinum + Audig

I have installed about a year ago on my PC a second sound card and now I have:? Audigy 2 ZX Platinum with external box - Default Sound Card Audigy 2?I use them because I have a small home studio so I plug in all my instruments and it allows me to record in real time with effects several instruments and mics. They are working in perfection!?The only problem I have is that the remote is no longer working with the external box. It's not a battery problem... I think it's some kind of conflict due having another sound card installed. Is there something I can do so I can use the remote again?Thank you!

  • SB Audigy 2 ZS Platinum and Norton UnEr

    Hi all...
I have built a new computer with the following specs:
    ASUS P5WD2 motherboard
    Pentium 4 650 processor
    GB memory
    2 300GB Seagate SATA dri'ves
MSI ATI RX800XL PCI-E video card
    SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum
    WinXP SP2, fully updated
I have installed Norton SystemWorks 2006 and SoundBlaster software. Unfortunately, they are not playing nice with each other.
First, I discovered that the SoundBlaster software affected Norton AV Auto-Protect, as stated here elsewhere on the forum. For my system, I corrected this problem by finding two settings that were turned off after installing the SoundBlaster software. Clicking Options on the main SystemWorks screen, then Norton AntiVirus, you get a screen with numerous checkboxes. Under Auto-Protect, Advanced there is a checkbox for Load Auto-Protect when Windows starts that (again on my system) became unchecked all by itself. I checked this and also checked start auto-protect on the main options menu. All of this seemed to fix the problem.
Second, I cannot use Norton UnErase when two SoundBlaster files are loaded at boot: RcMan.exe and SBDrvDet.exe. With these two files loaded, Norton UnErase is not usable at all. Without these loaded, all is well.
These two files are for the remote control and for the dri've bay controller that attaches to the sound card.
Has anyone experienced this? Anyone know a workaround? Anyone know how I can load these two files and not have issues?
    Thanks to all...
    George

    George,
Try uninstalling all your Norton applications and follow by cleansweep your sound card software/driver. The steps to cleansweep your sound card can be found with this Knowledgebase article SID72. After you have done both, install the sound card driver/application first using the installation CD. Ensure that the sound card is function fine. After which, install your Norton software.
