Serial Entry API in warehouse Mangement

Hi
Can any one plz help me. I have one requirement in receipt screen in warehouse management responsibility. Business requires a upload button in serial entry screen .when they upload the attachment through the upload button , then serials will automatically populate in serial entry screen. is there any API's to populate the serials in serial entry screen automatically?

Significance of 'p_entry_type' parameter in element entry API

Hi all,
May I know the actual working significance of 'p_entry_type' parameter in element entry API.
I went through TRM but can't find the understandable answer.
basically my problem is my API is not creating element entries, so thought that it may be because of this parmeter.
All other code is I think right.
pleasee help.

I 'm loading data for element entry. Which API i have create first.
ELEMENT_ENTRY_API or ELEMENT_LINK_API.
First i did, element_entry_api. If is saying 'Element link doesn't exist.'
When i'm trying to create element_link_api, it is saying 'This element link is not mutually exclusive.'

Thanks to all for your suggestions. I did that corrections. I got the following error.
ORA-20001: The assignment is not eligible for the element.
You may not grant the element Mobile Allowance to assignment number 4287-3 on 07-JUN-08. The assignment is not eligible for the element on that date. Eligibility is determined by the element link. In order to be eligible, the link criteria must be met by the assignment at all times during the life of an element entry.Salary API.

Serial Communication API

Can anyone recommened any API's that can be used to read and write to Serial ports? I have looked into Java Communication API but this is depricated and I would prefer not to use it. I have also tried RXTX but this is a little buggy.
Any others out there? Would prefer a Windows/Linux multiplateform solution but if not just a Windows one is fine.

Yeah, I know that's what you 'should' do, but a user doesn't always do what you expect they 'should' do. So if a user does pull out the USB cable before the application is shut down and the COM port is closed, then the error appears. Isn't there a way to catch that exception?

Serial entry window doesn't show up

Hi,
I have an application in TS 3.5 In fact i copied this application from a previous one. When i run a test, the serial input window doesn't show up. What is more when the main seq reaches end, it goes to cleanup, then postuut and then runs main sequence again immediately. But i want the operator to enter a serial number and initiaize the test. I never faced this problem before.

What process model are you using? Has it been modified?
Does your sequence file include the PreUUT callback sequence in it? If so then you will not see the default serial number input dialog if you are using the Sequential Model and the TestUUTs entry point.
The serial dialog box is part of the PreUUT callback. If you open your process model and then open the PreUUT sequence in there you should see two steps (assuming no one has changed it). One displays the dialog and the other sets the serial number.
If your sequence file (not the process model) contains a green sequence called PreUUT then the one in the process model doesn't get called.
A good litmus test for this is- Open a blank sequence file. Run it using Test UUTs. If you see the serial input dialog then your model is good to go and the issue is with your sequence file. If you don't see that dialog then something has changed in your model.

can any one telll me the steps involved in the return process in Warehouse Management.

Everything starts in inventory management.
once the goods movement is posted in IM, then you get the stock into the interim storage type in WM. at the same time you should get a transfer request which need to be converted into a transfer order to move the material into its final bin.
In case of a customer return:
CSR will enter a return order.
then a return delivery is created.
Then post goods receipt is done in reference to the delvery.
you get stock into the interim bin
convert the TR to a TO and confirm the movement.
then in inventory management a transfer posting is done to change stock status from return to own stock.
at the same time you get a transfer posting request in WM, which you can process with LU04 transaction, to get the status in IM and WM in sync.
finally or somewhere between in this process the CSR issues a credit note to the customer.

To number serially entries in a table

Hello everybody,
I have a table, where I group for the ID.
<?for-each-group:current-group();./ID?> Now I wont to number my table entries. So I use
<?for-each-group:current-group();./ID?> <?position()?> So far it works fine.
Then I exclude a group where id=discoun
<?if:ID!='discoun'?> The entry with the ID=discoun will be not shown in the report. But the number of the entry will
be omitted. So it can occur, that I get the following order:
1 reduction
2 additional charge
4 premium
My problem is, that the number 3 will be omitted. The entry premium should get the 3.
Does andybody know how could I face this problem?

I got a further requirements on the report.
In the same table I need to show just five rows per page in the report. If the are more then five rows in it table, the next fife rows
should appear on the next page. Do you know how could I solve this problem?

We have done Physical Inven Warehouse difference posting ,and the difference qty is posted to the storgae type 999 ,we have not done Inventory management posting .
Will it possible to recverse the physical inve doc at this time. Phyiscal inv doc line status is "Cleared"

Hi Kumar,
As I understand you, the inventory difference in WM has been cleared (LI20) already. In this case I think you should clear the difference in IM (LI21) also and after that you should do another inventory process (WM & IM) to set the proper stock levels in SAP.
Just my opinion, I'm not WM expert.

Yes , you can definitely use dynamic bins for a material.But every time you need to specify the dynamic bin
numbers while perfoming the warehouse operations.
For understanding purpose would like to know the business requirement or reason for the same?
