Hi,
The shelf life is maintained for the batch material during GR process .IF the shelf life expired how to bring the stock under quality inspection for re-checking?
Thanks in Advance.

    Dear all
    I have a scnerio

    Hi,
You can use batch determination strategy with correct search criteria and create batch search strategry record on customer level.

  • Shelf Life Expired Material will automatically be transferred to block stk

    Hi,
We have purchased a material, RM u2013 XYZ, Qty u2013 5000 kg, Mfg date u2013 01.06.2010 and Expire date is 30.09.2011. The material was received on 25.06.2010. Presently the stock of material is lying as unrestricted type.
I want to know that when the shelf life of the material will be expired, the material will atomically be transferred to block stock. How do I configure the same?
Further, is there any standard alarming system as to know the shelf life of material is going to be expired?
    Regards,
    Amit

The problem is that the section of the program (QA07) that blocks the stock  runs first.  Therefor all "expired" stcok within the time frame specified is moved.  When the program runs the section to create inspection lots, it will only take into consideration stock that is in unrestricted stock.  Since the stocks have already been moved to blocked stock, there is no stock in unrestricted inventory and hence no inspection lots.
In your case, in the section "Batch status change when expiration date is reached"  you need to untick the "Block batch" and remove and values iin "Initial run in days" in this section.
In the section above that tick on "Block batch at inspection date" and maintain a value in "Initial run in days".
This will have the effect of creating lots when the next inspection date falls within the window specified and will move the material to blocked stock on the inspection date.
Keep in mind that this is all working on the "Next Inspection Date" of the batch.  Not the expiration date.  So you should have a process to keep the next inspection date and the expriation date in sync.
To cover yourself and make sure that batches are blocked if the expriation date is reached, set up QA07 to run again immediately after the above job.  In the varinat for this run, tick back on the "Block batch" and set a value in the "Initial run in days".  This will then block any stocks missed in the inspection lot creation process above.
Also see the folowing threads which explain the deadline mointoring program.  There is a lot of info on this process on the net.

    Hi,
In Inventory management there is a which helps you "Set expiration Date Check". This allows you to make sure that the shelf life of the material is checked before delivery.
In Material master, you would need to enter relevant information in the "Plant Data/Stor. 1" tab page (Min remaining shelf life, total shelf life). Also in IMG settings, you need to activate the check for both Plant and movement type. The path is as follows:
IMG Settings > Material Management > Inventory Management and Physical Inventory > Goods Receipt > Set Expiration Date Check. TCode: OMJ5
    Cheers.

  • How to check Vendor issue stock shelf life

    Hi,
As I know, Tcode--MB5M is for checking shelf life for normal stock material.
The question from our user is to check the batch shelf life which has been transferred from our restrict stock to vendor issue retrict stock. MB5M seems not make it...
    Thanks a lot.
    Bryan

    Hi Pankaj,
Thanks firstly. But Tcode-MBLB is for checking the stock in subcontracting.
What I am seeking for is a transaction to check the shelf life of the stock. ( In our system, we use batch management..So the exact question should be that how to check the shelf life of batch which is under subcontracting stock.)
If you try Tcode-MB5M, you would know this tcode is for checking batch shelf life under normal stock, but it could not used for checking the shelf life of batch under subcontracting.
    Thanks alot.

  • Doubts in Shelf life scenarios........

    Hi All,
I have some doubts regarding Shelf life scenarios:-
    1. In material master there are 2 fields in Plant/stor.1  view those are Min. rem. shelf life and Total shelf life.
the field "Total shelf life" is ok. this field means in how long the perticular product will get useless and we can decide it at the time of material master creation for ex. for a perticular material it may be 30 days or 4 months etc.
but how can be decide the field Min. rem. shelf life bcoz as I know its mean How many days are remaining to get the product useless.and we can decide this field, if we know the manufactring date of product and  total shelf life. hence we can calculate it
as suppose total shelf life for a product= 30 days
                       Manufacturing date =  1 jan 2010
                       current date =  20 Jan 2010
so  Min. rem. shelf life   =  10 days
but here in material master how to calculate Min. rem. shelf life, and why its mandatory field, if we put Total shelf life field.
2.whats the use of Rem. shelf life field in po or what will its impact, while shelf life is only provide the impact to GR.
3.In GR,its mandatory to put the date in the field "Date of Manufacture" or we can get it any other ways excluding batch.
4.In GR there are a field "Shelf Life Exp. Date" ,we can get through Date of Manufacture (from gr) + Total Shelf Life (from Material  Master) here again then whats the use of "Min. rem. shelf life" field  shows in Material master and PO.

    Hi Himanshu,
I mean if a goods are recived under the expiration date and min shelf life is also ok.
First of all no business will allow to receive already expired date into the premises.
but goods are issue at that time when date has been expired,so how this scenario is run/maintained.
At this instance system will throw an error while Goods issue " Goods expired , kindly check expiry date".
    Hope this helps.
    Regards
    Utsav

  • Check shelf life date by customer when goods issue

    Hi
Since each customers will required to have different remaining shelf life of the product when deliver to their store such as 7-11 may required 100 days, Tesco Lotus 150 days so the manufacturing and trading companies of foods & beverage needs to control shelf life of their product by customer.
In general , shelf life is set in material master - storage view so it's not attach to each customer - anybody know how to apply it?
    Pls help
    Regards,
    Chanchana

    Hi,
You can control this via batch determination. Using condition technique, you can set the desired length of remaining shelf life for each of your customer (I mean you can create a condition record for each of them with the suitable parameters).
    Please check these links:
    http://www.renet-web.net/2008/09/05/sap-batch-determination-made-easy/

(As per my best knowledge you won't be able to consider remaining shelf life during planning.)

  • Shelf Life not to be entered in MIGO

    Hello,
I have a setting in which, system is asking me to enter the shelf life expiration date in MIGO. My Client do not want to enter the Shelf life in MIGO.
My client wants that the Shelf life expiration date should be entered in MSC2N and also wants that the shelf life entered at the time of MSC2N should be checked from Material Master.
System is not checking for Shelf life expiration data from Material Master.
    How can I achive this.
    Regards
    Prabhjot Singh

    hi..
have u assigned the batch class in material master classification..and assigned that class to batch in MSC2N ..?
i think it is asking because u have done some config in SLED in Batch Management..please check it once again..
    please revert back..
    thanks..

  • Shelf Life Capturing

    Hi all,
    Please find the scenario below....
My client stores a Raw Material (in Kgs) in COLD Storage, which they use it for Discrete Manufacturing. This Raw material has its own Shelf Life.
When ever they take it out for Production, they want Quality Inspection to be done. The point is, they will not take out the exact qty required for Production. While returing the remaining Qty to Cold Storage, they want to carry out Inspection again.
Also, they want the system to dynamically monitor the percentage of loss in Shelf life due to the Temperature difference (for the remaining Material). So that when the shelf life nears the Expiry date, they want to do the Inspection and consume as much as possible.
Please guide me as I am new to QM.
    Thnx in advance
    Sam

    Hi Sam,
As truly said by Jan, You should the inspection type 08 - Stock transfer inspection. (If it don't work pls revert)
    For the Second requirement.
It is not possible to monitor the loss of Shelf Life in percentage. But you can define it this way.
BY IMPLEMENTING THE RECURRING INSPECTION CYCLE FUNCTIONALITY OF QM
    - You need to define a land mark for the recurring inspection in days for each material. E.g. 10days. Define this value 10 in the Material master, QM view, field is "Inspection interval".
    - Activate the inspection type 09 - Recurring inspection of batches.
    - Now schedule a background job that triggers the recurring inspection lots with inspection type 09.
    - To define the background job follow the below mentioned steps
    * Run Trx QA05, Click on Create vriant.
        * Name the Variant, Click on the CREATE
        * Select Full Screen,
        * Now system will lead you to the same screen as QA07. Here Assign the values as per your requirement.
E.g. If you are planning a job for a specific plant then enter the plant.
Enter the initial run in days should be that value that system picks as radius to select the batches.E.g. if you enter 10 as run in days, so where ever the program "RQAAAS10" will run, it will post those batches in Quality for which the the next inspection date falls in the orbit of next 10 days.
Select the Radio button "To Inspection Stock at Lot Creation"
By selecting this radio button.... If you choose this option, batches whose next inspection date lies within the opening period, are posted from the unrestricted-use stock to the inspection stock. At this transfer posting, a new inspection lot is created for each storage location. If a corresponding inspection lot already exists and if the next inspection date is reached, the transfer posting is also carried out and the existing inspection lot is changed accordingly.
Now go back and selecte option yes to the message populate having text as "Leave value maintenance: Save values?"
Then name your variant logically, set the appropriate values for variant, if required.
    Save.
Now It you will be back in QA05, where you will be able to see the Variant you have just created.
So now click on the SCHEDULE button and schedule it for periodically.
Now what system will do is it will create an inspection lot according to your Job, and the stock will fall in quality according to their next inspection date.
Now complete the inspection lot processing, while you will perform UD, system will set the next inspection for Batch, form the date of UD + the value there in the "Inspection interval" of QM view.
And for next time onwards it will generate the 09 inspection lot at the new next inspection date for that batch.
Above all was about to meet the
they want to do the Inspection
    only now to
    consume as much as possible.
You must define the batch determination strategy and batch determination rule accordingly. It is define in COB1,MBC1 And for Rule CO70.

    Shyamal

  • Doubt about. shelf life in Info records

    Dear all,
Please clarify my doubts on the following:
An info record will be automatically created when the infoupdate field is ticked in the PO.
    1) Will the price stated in the PO be populated in the Info records as well? I have tested in QA environment and noticed that the price was not populated even though the info record was created.
    2) If an existing info record already exists for a material and I have changed the Min rem shelf life in the Material Master, will this change be automatically updated in the info record or do I have to manually update it?
    Thank you.

    > 1) Will the price stated in the PO be populated in the Info records as well? I have tested in QA environment and noticed that the price was not populated even though the info record was created.
Price Cannot be Populated from Purchase Order to Purchase Info Record. You have to Manually Update it.
    > 2) If an existing info record already exists for a material and I have changed the Min rem shelf life in the Material Master, will this change be automatically updated in the info record or do I have to manually update it?
This also to be Updated Manually

  • Shelf life monitoring - user exits

    Hi Experts,
We are trying to implement shelf-life monitoring for certain material types. Before i place my question, i'll try to explain the scenario as clearly as i can.
For one plant and a fixed number of storage locations we're supposed to display an error message "Enter Production Date" if it is not entered while goods movement is performed (issues, receipts or transfers) (MIGO,MB01, MB1B). Whether the materail is being issued to or received from the required storage locations this message needs to be shown.
To effect this I have implemented the user-exits EXIT_SAPLVBMD_001 and EXIT_SAPMM07M_001. The logic that I have used works fine for the case when the receiving storage location is one of the storage locations to be checked, but when it is the issuing storage location that the problem arrises- the issuing storage location's value is not captured in the exit EXIT_SAPLVBMD_001 and since the conditions fail the exit is not processed at all. Further, only the exit EXIT_SAPMM07M_001 satisfies the conditions that we wanna check. As a result of this, the message "Enter production date" does appear but the field to enter the date is greyed, i.e. the transaction doesn't allow me to enter the date.
I would like to know if I included MSEG in the Importing tab of the function module by checking the pass value check box, would i get the value of the issuing storage location in this exit as well? If this wont work, then I'm clueless to proceed with my requirement. Please spare me your opinions. Helpfull answers will be amply rewarded. Thanks for the patience you have shown to read the whole scenario.

I hvae found a work around way for this.

  • Minimum Shelf life expiry date

I have set up minimum shelf life expiry in customizing ,material master as well as system messages, when I do GR and entering the expiry date the warning message for delay does not appear, the system says the document is ok

    give facts.
have set up minimum shelf life expiry in customizing ,
you mean you activated SLED check per plant and movement type, right?
    material master
what did you enter in which field?
    as well as system messages,
What did you do with which system message?
when I do GR and entering the expiry date
    What date did you enter?
the warning message for delay does not appear
    Which message do you expect.

  • Shelf life

    Hi all,
    1) consider a material A whose shelf life is 6 mnts form date of GR with full properties. after 6 mnts the material can still be used with some less properties for another 3mnts.
    how can i map this?
    2) is it possible to map shelf life without maintaining in Material master?
    Regards,
    Shruti.

    Hi Supriya,
First of all answer to your second question: No
First Question: Generally this type of scenarios are handelled like as follows. Lets I have Materail A with shelf life 180 days. upto 180 days it has got full properties, as you say. After shelf life expiry, if I want to still use that material with the less properties. Then in that case I would go for some other material, say Material B.
After shelf life expiry, I would transfer material A to material B and maintain new shelf life expiry as 90 days.
This way we may map the scenario. Industry usual follow the same practice.
    Hope that helps you
    Sachin
