* sign in bex report

hi, I have to move bex query result into access. I am trying to import it but it give me error because some cells in excel file contain asterik sign * and values are hidden underneath. I can see the values in formula field when i click on asterick in cell. Any Idea how to change these * to original value.
regards,
w

This is due to mixing key figures with different units of measure.
Use a nodim function to remove UOM, or, better, put the UOM in the rows, this will split the results according to the UOM.

  • Header and Footer in a BEx report

    Hi Everyone,
I have a requirement where I need to provide a space for the user to sign-off with their name and signature at the bottom of the print-out of a BEx report. For this purpose I need to provide a space at the bottom of the report where the user can write their names and sign-off. It should be something like:
    Name: _________________________________-
    Signature: _______________________________
    Date: ___________________________________
Is there some way I can add all this as the footer text in the BEx query?
    Thanks,
    Ram

If the BEx query can use a "structure" in the rows section....
Under last row, add a selection = company code, set it not equal to the company code, & change the description =
    NAME:  ____________________________________________
Then, copy the above row, but change description to =
    SIGNATURE: _____________________________________
Repeat, copy the above row, change description =
    DATE:  ____________________________________
If you want to add blank lines, copy one of these rows, but change description = a period = .
By setting the restriction <> to the real company code, then that row should be blank straight across, except for the description.
A better/more professional looking option is to put the BEx query into a web template, add 3 HTML rows under the query result table, add text per your specs.  Then save web template to the appropriate role/folder to publish it on the portal.

  • Issue with Bex report - key Figures not populating correctly.

    Hi Experts,
I am facing an issue with a Bex report. There are three key figures of data type DATE having "Dec - Counter or amount field with comma and sign" datatype. After executing the query, in the report, for some sales documents the key figure fields are coming as 'X' and rest others are coming correctly in the date format as mm\dd\yyyy.
When i check in the cube, these key figures shows values in decimal format and not in date format. The conversion is happening during execution.
Pleas show me some light on how to identify the cause of getting 'X' for some Sales documents in the report eventhough some are coming correctly.
    Thanks,
    Anamika
Edited by: Anamika Soni on Mar 12, 2010 10:48 AM

    Hi,
The infobject has been defined with datatype "DATE" only. It has also been mapped from datasource to infocube correctly as these key figures are populating correctly for some of the sales documents in the report. It is not like that for all the sales documents the key figures are not converting properly.
Some Sales documents are not converting into the date fields but for some conversion happens properly in the BEx report. This is the issue.
    Please guide accordingly.
    Many thanks,
    Anamika

  • Symbols on Bex Report

    Hi All,
Can anyone help me to explain meaning for the following symbols that displayed in Bex report results
    1. 1234.00MYR

    3.  *
    Thank you

X and   *  are the signs displayed as per the settings that are defined in SPRO
SPRO -> SAP Reference IMG -> SAP Netweaver -> Business Intelligence -> Settings for reporting and Analysis -> General Settings for Reporting & Analysis -> Presenting Numeric values in teh Explorer.
There you will see four option for BEx values to display if the result is :
    Divison by Zero      X
    Does Not exist      X
    Num.overflow        X
    Mixed values        *
    No Authorisation    Blank

  • Search instring value of Variable in customer exit of bex report

    Hello experts-
I have a situation where I need to search the records based on value  of a variable input in selection screen of bex report and according to that i need to show the results in report.
Ex- if we have a material characteristics on selection screen,or material number has 10 digits(eg 1234567809). so the user will only type 2-3 digit(i.e 12) on selection screen, In this case I want only those records to be displyed, for which material has these 2 digits in it .
    Eg would be:
    1234567809,
    3451267809,
    9807654312.
Could you please suggest ABAP logic for the above. Properties of variable and how many variable we have to create.
    Regards,
    Yatendra

    Hello Vineet,
we have tried putting  ' * ' i n place of '=' in drop down screen.
we have also tried customer exit code, please check below.
       WHEN 'ZSEARCH'.
         data: lv_string type string.
         data: wa_test type ZTEST_TOOLING.
    if I_STEP = 2.
         LOOP AT i_t_var_range INTO loc_var_range
                   WHERE vnam = 'ZTSEARCH'.
              CONCATENATE '' loc_var_range-low '' INTO L_S_RANGE-LOW.
              L_S_RANGE-SIGN = 'I'.
              L_S_RANGE-OPT = 'CP'.
              APPEND L_S_RANGE TO E_T_RANGE.
         ENDLOOP.
      endif.
In  this code we have created two variables 1st 'ZSEARCH' which is type of 'customer exit' , and the second one 'ZTSEARCH' type of "user entry/ default value" .
As we need the value provided by user in  ZTSEARCH (user entry), we loop at  i_t_var_range where vnam = 'ZTSEARCH'.
But i_t_var_range doesn't contain  ZTSEARCH variable.
Can you please suggest in customer exit code as well as in selection option.
    Thanks

  • Removing # sign in the Report for Blank Value

    Guys,
I was trying to use the below code VB, but i am getting error like Expected: End of statement.
I am new to VB, do anyone have step by step guide to implement the below macro for Excel and remove the # from BEx analyzer.
Do i need write this macro for each query? I totally dont understand the link.
Kindly guide to run the macro and avoid # in reporting.
Do I need to implement this macro on each end user client server ?
    Removing '#' in Analyzer (Report)
In ODS, there are records having a value BLANK/EMPTY for some of the fields. EX: Field: `Creation Date' and there is no value for some of the records.
For the same, when I execute the query in Analyzer, the value `#' is displaying in place of `BLANK' value for DATE and other Characteristic fields. Here, I want to show it as `BLANK/SPACE' instead of `#'. How to do this?
I had a similar problem and our client didn't want to see # signs in the report. And this is what I did. I created a marco in Workbook as SAPBEXonRefresh and run my code in Visual Basic editor. You can run same code in query also as when you will refresh query this # sign will be taken care. You can see similar code in SAP market place.
I will still suggest not to take out # sign as this represent no value in DataMart. And this is SAP standard. I did convince my client for this and later they were OK with it.
    The codes are below:
Sub SAPBEXonRefresh(queryID As String, resultArea As Range)
    If queryID = "SAPBEXq0001" Then
    resultArea.Select
    'Remove '#'
    Selection.Cells.Replace What:="#", Replacement:="", LookAt:=xlWhole, _ SearchOrder:=xlByRows, MatchCase:=False, MatchByte:=True
    'Remove 'Not assigned'
    Selection.Cells.Replace What:="Not assigned", Replacement:="", LookAt:=xlWhole, _ SearchOrder:=xlByRows, MatchCase:=False, MatchByte:=True
    End If
' Set focus back to top of results
    resultArea(1, 1).Select
    End Sub

    Anand,
This is what I have used in the past and works just fine
    Sub HashRemoval()
        Application.ScreenUpdating = False
        Cells.Replace What:="#", Replacement:="", LookAt:=xlWhole, SearchOrder:= _
            xlByRows, MatchCase:=False, SearchFormat:=False, ReplaceFormat:=False
        Application.ScreenUpdating = True
    End Sub
But I have this as a separate macro that can be called any time.

  • Data load from BPC into BI 7 cubes for Bex reporting

    Hi,
Can we pull BPC planning data into the BI cubes so that Bex reports can be created for combined data from BPC cubes and BI cubes?
Also can we create Bex reports on BPC cubes just like we create for BI reporting cubes?
Let me also give an example of the scenario we face.
We have actuals data in a BI 7 basic cube(Actuals cube). Planning is done in BPC, so I understand  that the planned data gets automatically stored in a BPC cube in BI7 system. I want to load the data from this BPC cube to BI Actuals cube and create a combined Bex report to show actuals and plan data.
    Please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Archana

AS of now, if you report data in the BPC7NW cubes through BEx, you may not get the same result as you get from BPC reports. The reason being BEx won't do the same calculations (for example sign reversals) that BPC client would do. In addition, you won't be able to report the results of the dimension member formulas when you report through BEx. If you have to get data out from BPC cubes to other cubes, you can go through SQE (shared query engine) and that way, yyour results will match with what you get in BPC reports. Once you get data out through SQE into other cubes, you can use BEx to report if you wish.
More functionality will be available in near future to accomplish BEx reporting for BPC data.

  • SQL error when I execute a Bex report

    Dear All,
I have a customer exit for an important BeX report. When the report runs, it throws me the below error.
"ORA-01795: maximum number of expressions in a list is 1000"
I understand this error and I refered note 568768 after going through the earlier forums. Everyone is suggesting to ask the Basis people to increase the tablespace and empty some filesystem and all. The Basis team at my end had a thorough check of the system and told that there is no such problem. Below is my customer exit ---:
    WHEN 'EMPL_OP1'.
        IF i_step = 2.
READ TABLE I_T_VAR_RANGE INTO loc_var_range WITH KEY VNAM = 'EDT_RFI'.
          select /BIC/CPS_EDATE /BIC/CPS_EFSQ /BIC/CPS_EMPL /BIC/CPS_EMPST
          from /BIC/ACPS_JOB00 into table it_job
          where /BIC/CPS_EDATE <= loc_var_range-low.
          LOOP AT it_job INTO wa_job.
            CLEAR l_s_range.
                l_s_range-low = wa_job-/BIC/CPS_EMPL.
                l_s_range-sign = 'I'.
                l_s_range-opt = 'EQ'.
                APPEND l_s_range TO e_t_range.
            clear:wa_job.
          ENDLOOP.
          refresh it_job.
        ENDIF.
The problem is occuring only in the line "APPEND l_s_range TO e_t_range" and there are no errors before that. That is - when 'e_t_range' is getting displayed. I never faced this problem for other reports and I am surprised why it is showing only records less than 1000. If my result set contains 1000 or greater records, it is giving the above dump. Guide me to optimise the code. I am sure someone might have faced this issue and were able to solve it.
    Cheers........!!!!!

  • BW - Alternative for # (hash/pound)sign in bex query output to Microstrategy

    Hello team,
We have a requirement to display BEx report output to the reporting tool Microstrategy. They are accessing the BEx query as the source. The issue we are facing is :- when there is no value for a characteristic, it displays a # sign in the report. This is the normal behavior of SAP BW. But Microstrategy is not able to access this pound/hash symbol and they want us to display a blank space instead of # sign. I was wondering whether there is any alternative for displaying blank space instead of hash/pound sign???

    Hi Jerry,
Yeah, I think that's the only way to maintain it..
    OR
How do you load data to your MASTERDATA object? You can just include "SPACE" value in the EXCEL file (if your datasource is a FLATFILE) or make a "SPACE" value in the transformation level..

    Loed

  • Concatenation of Data from 4 infoobjects into a single cell in Bex Report

    Hi,
I have loaded ODS with the description data. The source system for loading the ODS is the flat file. The ODS data should be a replica of the flat file.
In the flat file, there is a description field corresponding to a particular ID. This Description is greater than the standard 60 char length. So, I had to split the description while loading the flat file using single line routine in the Transfer Structure.
So, while loading different  the data, I split the description field data from the flat file into 4 infoobjects and the flat file data was loaded into the ODS.
Now, from the reporting point of view, I need to display the entire description data from the 4 info-objects into a single cell in the Bex report.
Please suggest a solution for this.

  • Shortened Fiscal Year and its impact on BI back end and Bex reports

    Hi All,
Our client is making some changes to the fiscal year period.
Becuase of some business requirements, we will have to shortened the fiscal year.
Can you please suggest - what are the watch points when we do this?
                                            - what will be the impact to BI back end and Bex reports?
    Thanks,
    Nisha

    Hello Nisha,
Since the fiscal year (Infobjects - 0FISCYEAR and/ 0FISCPER3) is compounded with fiscal year variant, therefore maintaining the correct variant in BI will automatically take care of showing the data correctly.
So there are two things to be maintained in BI:
    1) To see that the variant definition.
    2) If you need to display the text of the fiscal periods, then the correct texts.
Let me know if you need more clarifications.

  • Creating Chart in BeX Report

I have few questions regarding creating Chart in BW Report. One thing I need to make it clear it's a simple BeX Report not a WAD report.
    (1) How should I create a chart in the Report?? Should I have to create it in the Excel Sheet once I run the report?
    (2) Do I need to create the chart everytime manually once I run the report or is there any way we can save it and everytime we open the Report it should display the chart automatically !!
    (3) When users drill up/ drill down or group data in different views, the Chart should be dynamically changed follow the change in data set. Is it possible to do that??
    Thanks,
