Strange Nokia X3 problem

I brought a Nokia X3-00 a week ago. Today, I Configured it to use the GPRS internet.
While the internet is working fine in the phone's default browser. Opera isn't working, not the one supplied with the phone & not the one I just downloaded from Opera's site.
The E icon just keeps flashing for a while & then "Unable to connect to the internet" dialogue.
What I've tried:
Configuring the Opera Application's access level. Didn't help.
Any solutions?

  • Nokia 820 problems

Just bought two Nokia 820s, one for my wife and one for myself. Awesome phones except for a couple of issues. First, the GPS and Nokia Here Maps. When I am at home the maps show me in the right spot but reports (showing the address) that I am 3 houses down the street. When I am at work, the phone shows my position correctly but reports that I am in the Elementary School across the street. Hmmmm. gMaps does not have this problem and seems to have more detailed maps about my city and roadways. So it is a Nokia software problem? I like the Here functionality better, but the accuracy and detail are missing compared to other map services so I have to keep more than one app on my phone, using precious space. Second, I would really like to be able to sync my phone calendar with my google calendar and tasks. Right now I have to use third party apps so I have more than one calendar app (I prefer to use the one on my phone with live tiles!!!!) and more than one task app, etc... and more than one travel app. Also it would be nice to separate the people I want in my phone book from the people I have on social accounts (I will NEVER be calling most of the people on my facebook account, but there are people I call on a regular basis and I hate scrolling through or having to search a gajillion people to find who or what business I am looking for) and still have them listed, just seperately.
Thanks for listening and I sincerely hope these issues can be addressed.
    chris

Were you running gMaps on the same phone? If so then that would suggest the innacuracy in probably in the mapping data. This being the case, you should report the error to the map data provider using the link below.

With regards to synching with google, this service was stopped by google .

Some devices may need to have their software reset in order to see the latest benefits, or to resolve other potential problems. - Ensure you have the latest version of Nokia PC Suite. - Backup your device memory to your PC using Nokia PC Suite - Copy your files (music, videos, documents, images etc) from the Nokia N91 hard drive to your PC (use of USB mass storage recommended). - Copy any original SISX, Java, etc. installation files for your applications, themes, etc. from your Nokia N91 hard drive or memory card to your PC. (Do not simply copy over the installed directories/files.) - If your device has an internal hard drive, format your Nokia device’s hard drive by selecting Tools > Hard drive > Options > Format hard drive > Quick format (instructions are also in user the guide). - After the device has completely started up again, reset your device memory by selecting Menu > Tools > Settings > Phone > General > Orig. Phone Settings and entering 12345. - Restore your device memory from your PC using Nokia PC Suite by selecting Backup from the PC Suite menu and then selecting Restore. - Copy any hard drive or memory card contents from your memory card or PC back to your clean hard drive or memory card. - Re-install your applications/themes. "Start-up Failed. Contatct Retailer"
If Nokia Care fix this problem then can the data be retrieved completely from phone book, wallet etc...?
    Please share your experience....

Unfortunately there is no way you will be able to get the information from your phone saved. In order to have that done the phone must be in working order.
The phone might however still be repairable and if Nokia cannot fix it for you then perhaps you can try a general cellular repair shop. If the problem is hardware related they might be able to fix it with out you losing your data stored on the phone. If they have to reload the firmware then you will loose everything on the phone unfortunately.
Knowledge should be your Advisor when you need help.

  • I have a strange 3g data problem.

I have a strange 3g data problem.  At home I have zero 3G connectivity even though all bars are showing and says "3G" and wifi is "Off" ... unless I am on the phone and then magically the 3G data connection works perfectly!!  Does anyone have any idea what is happening?  Also when I bring my phone to my dad's or my friends house the problem disappears!! Is this a hardware or a AT&T network problem? os is 4.3.3
Also called ATT and they said there was no problem with the network and that it was a hardware issue.  Also restored the phone several times but the problem did not go away.

OK, no trouble shooting. The first thing I'd attempt is restarting in Safe Mode. If you still don't have luck try doing both a SMC and PRAM reset, it wouldn't hurt to do the SMC reset a couple of times. If still no luck let us know.
    SMC RESET
    Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and all peripherals.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
    Release the power button.
    Attach the computers power cable.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
    PRAM RESET
    Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

  • Nokia Maps & problem with '#' button

It looks like my '#' button changed its working in the Nokia Maps application. The pressing causes unpress and vice versa. So, when I release the button, it keeps zooming out until I press it again. Strange, because it works incorrectly only in this application.
Maybe someone clever could give me a hint to solve my problem?
I can observe it in the newest version of Nokia Maps and hard reset doesn't solve my problem.
    Please for some clues.

Is it just a problem in the maps application? It sounds rather odd... the button may be sticking, so I'd recommend getting it to your nearest Nokia Service Centre as soon as possible

  • NOKIA C6 PROBLEM

Hi.I am having problem with my nokia c6-00 device that i have bought the past two weeks.i think this has something to do with voice dialling.it starts by displaying a "speak now" message ,i dont say anything then it automatically makes calls from my dialled contacts.this strange thing has been irritating all the people on my contact list and exhausts my airtime.it also dials even if i am busy doing some other things on my phone like browsing and playing music

    Hi,
It sounds like you are accidently activating the "voice commands" by accident as Speak Now appears on the display and then as you don't say anything it is picking up any background noise and comparing it to a name in your contacts list and as it is just random noise it selects any name and dials. As i dont actually have your model of phone i cant say for sure but once in a while it happens with my phone and its always becaause i have pushed the voice commands button by accident. Have a look at your instruction guide and check how voice commands is activated (usually a long press on some button).
    Hope this helps

  • Nokia 2630 problems

    1. I have set an alarm for 24/11 on 23/11 and the alarm sound was heard on 23/11 after I had selected Save and went through the options.
    2. I received a phone call, and I couldn't hear anything from the caller; also the phone started behaving strangely because it was vibrating for no apparent reason and I had to switch it off and on again, after which it seemed to be working fine.
Has anyone encountered similar issues before?

try a factory reset the code is 12345 if the problem persists take it to a nokia care point

  • Nokia 6500c problem caused by an update

    He,
I was wandering if anybody here could help me with my problem. Let me tell you what happend:
I wanted to update my phone, a nokia 6500c, by downloading and installing some software. So I started PCSuite and downloaded some software. When it was done I started installing and I followed every procedure of the installer. About halfway the instalation the installer said there was a problem and 'the instalation failed'. I thought by myself, never mind, my phone works great without that software. So while the program was shutting down, I pulled my phone out of the USB Cable and noticed it wasn't on anymore. 'Strange...' I thought. Because I knew it was on like 2 minutes ago. I started with by pressing the 'on' button of the phone. Nothing happend...
Maybe the battery was empty? So I tried to put it in the recharger. And while I was watching to my phone I noticed that each half a minute the screen gave light. But I didn't went on. And now I still can't turn the phone on.
    Anybody knows a solution?
    Thanks,
    McFlavus

take your phone to your nearest nokia care centre for them to look at. seems like that the installation of nokia pc suite or software update has stuffed up your phone. always remember to Safely Remove Hardware for your phone in windows, or trash can in Mac OS X, otherwise with improper removal you can corrupt your phone, which seems to be the case here.

  • Nokia E50 problem

Since yesterday I've been having a strange problem with my Nokia E50. The problem is as follows:
When an SMS message arrives, I don't hear any sound (even though it is set in the profile). In addition the "1 new message" prompt does not appear on the screen. The only thing that warns of a new message is the blinking light on the keyboard.
This problem happened to me twice. The first time, I had to load the latest version of the Nokia E50 software. It fixed the issue for half a year. Now the same problem happened again. Is something wrong with my phone?
    Thanks,
    Darcorn

Have the same problem with a N73. It seems that the phones branded by a certain network do not receive FW upgrades because the original software is modified to suit that perticular network requirements.

  • Nokia 5610: Problem in adding new contacts using P...

    Dear friends
I'm having a strange problem in uploading contact number using PC-Suite. Phone is connected via Micro USB link with PC. Once connected, I select "PC Suite" mode in Phone.
    1. I use Nokia Contact editor to add new contacts in phone. Once I give necessary details in the contact editor then I save it. First time it gets stored successfully. Once again when I select "Create New Contact" and try to save it , it fails!!
Then In phone, I have to select Menu-->Settings-->Connectivity-->USB Data Cable--->PC Suite. Then only it allows me to save the newly created contacts.
I have to repeat this cumbersome procedure every time I create a new contact.
In an all I'm able to save only on Contact at a time.
What could possibly wrong with that.
    2. PC Suite shows only name of those contact, which were added thro' phone. It does not show contact number.
    Xpress Music Rulez
    Codingt the creativity

I have absolutely the same problem.
What's worse is that when I updated the phone software, I lost all of my contacts fromm the phone memory.
I hope there's any easy fix to this issue or I may have to chose another phone manufacturer in future as I find this untenable.
    Great music player, shoddy software.

  • Comes With Music / Nokia 5800 problems downloading...

I've just got a new 5800 with Comes With Music and I'm having lots of problems! Hopefully you can help?!
Problem 1 - the main problem! Downloads don't add to phone's music library
The main problem is with downloading songs directly using my phone. Songs I download (using the mobile, not the PC) don't get added to my music library, and refreshing the music library dowsn't help. If I go to the music store, select 'options' and 'downloads' I can see a list of all the songs I've downloaded. If I select 'open' I can play the songs (one at a time), but they don't get added to the music library. If I press 'delete', I'm told 'File not found'. When I connect to my PC, I can't see these songs using the Nokia Music software, so can't transfer them to the PC. All very strange. Any ideas for how I can get these songs to add to the library?
Problem 2 - Nokia Music software
This is just irritating rather than anything else. When I plug my phone to my PC and use Nokia Music, the little phone icon has the caption 'Nokia N95'. But the phone I've connected is a 5800! My old phone was an N95...
At first this meant I couldn't sign up to CWM using my pin, because I was told it isn't compatible with this phone. So I had to sign up using the phone rather than the PC, and then use the log-in details on the PC to access music. This has worked and means I can download songs to my PC and transfer them to my phone, but it was a pain to get there.
Problem 3: Nokia Music website doesn't work
To add insult to injury, when I look for some help on the nokiamusic.co.uk website I'm told I need a new flash player. So I download the new flash playe, and I'm still told I need a new flash player. Brilliant. Incidentally, at the bottom of the page it says"Click here if you're quite sure to have Flash Player installed" which is gramatically a lot of nonsense.
I've always got on well with Nokia, but frankly I've had a nightmare week trying to get this new phone up and running and I'm very disappointed with them. The help-line isn't much use either. Anyway, any help on the above would be really greatfully received.
    Ryan

    Hi!
For your first problem, are you accessing Nokia Music Store on your mobile through the webbrowser or via the application in Music Menu? If you are using the web browser, try using the application.
If you are using the application already, have you tried with different access points? (i.e. WLAN, different operator interet access points) Also make sure that you have a memorycard in your phone which is compatible with the device, might be worth trying to re-format it and then try again?
For your third problem, have you tried to access nokia music store through Nokia Music program on your PC? (Click on Store tab). And which browser are you currenlty using to access it?
    Cheers,

  • Nokia Camera problem

so nokia camera for some reason is closing on my 930 when I use the camera button or the screen when i try to take a picture and returns to the start screen.
it isn't a hardware problem as the other camera app still works fine. anyone else had this? have I accidently done something stupid? any fixes?

Thanks for posting your concern, JacknifeUK. When did it start to happen? Did you notice any strange behavior prior to this issue? Have you already tried uninstalling and re-installing the Nokia Camera app? BTW, did you set the said app as a default camera? To check this, go to Settings > swipe to Applications > Photos+camera. Are you also having the same issue when you change it to Microsoft Camera?
    We'll wait for your response.

  • Nokia 301 problem - service messages / balance enq...

I bought a Nokia 301 mobile for one of my relatives at Christmas and am having such problems with it on Sainsbury's Mobile.
I popped the SIM card in, expecting the internet setting to be sent by text - but nothing. Then to make matters worse, every time I call to ask for a balance - it displays text as a service message that is completely unreadable!  Like it is full of nonsensicle characters.
I'm just lost as to what's wrong with it. Even if I could find the internet settings but Sainsbury's website is useless. The balance enquiry is a real problem though - could it be a SIM card problem?
    Any help much appreciated!!

    Adam14 wrote:
it also seems strange that these settings aren't text when I put the SIM card in.  Other network SIM's I have put it, these settings are all on automatically.
Receiving those settings automatically is not normal especially for big carriers like Vodafone. Not sure about Vodafone UK. Actually, your carrier could change one tiny piece in their global settings and a Nokia would work instantly. Anyway, Sainsbury’s says: ‘If you don’t receive the settings within 24 hours of activating your SIM, text WEB to 40127 for free’.
    Adam14 wrote:
I am just dialling the usual number of *#1345# but the text that apears as a Service Message is just crazy characters like Ω.  I have never seen this before.  The same when I call *#100# for my number - just rubbish text.
OK. That is USSD. Because you cannot do anything wrong, like a wrong setting, this is a bug. Here in Nokia Support Discussions, we cannot fix such a bug. Therefore, you should report to the mentioned parties because only those have a chance to fix that bug. Not a solution but as a workaround, please, check your balance via the computer-voice at 40775.
