  • Unable to receive sub-account emails in Windows Ma...

Family members living a distance away have a btinternet main account with a sub account. Both accounts are managed by their Windows Mail and have been operating fine for over 2 years. Last week an error 553 was given. Sub-account emails could be neither sent or received from Windows Mail. I went through the verification process via WebMail for them. Immediately they could send emails from the sub-account again, but not receive. The send and receive reports for both accounts report successful with green ticks. BT has remoted onto the PC and checked out the settings and declared it all working, yet still no emails received. I can see all the emails waiting via webmail. I've checked that emails can be sent to, and received from, another email address. What has changed? Is it possible the verification was incomplete?

    Hi. Welcome to the forums.
There is no particular need to verify any BTinternet sub accounts.
The reason for this error is a settings change by some means or other, even accidental. As there have been mail server issues for a number of weeks now - is it possible your family may have tried to alter their Windows Mail account settings to try to fix the problem ?
Verification has actually nothing to do with receipt of email, so that sounds to be a settings issue.
I would suggest contacting your family to check the account settings again, and make sure that each one only refers to the email address in question, and any primary account details (e.g. that needed for verification) is removed from the sub account..

  • New sub-account email not working

Was to receive a phone call from a support Manager today (8/31/11).
    Did not receive it.
Not surprised. (Will call you back with a solution, promise we will).
My sub-account email address of:{edited for privacy} is not working.
When I try to send to this email, the verizon email servers are giving me an error message: "this is an invalid email address"
When I send to {edited for privacy}it works.
    I guess this "{edited for privacy}" is linked to "{edited for privacy}"?
Try to figure this one out.
    Please fix this!

    jpmd70,

  • Cannot see sub-account emails in My Verizon

I recently replaced my hard drive and now Windows Live Mail is no longer available.  So I'm trying to use My Verizon to check my emails.  The only problem with this is that any emails to my sub-account emails are not appearing in My Verizon.  How do I fix this.  If I can't see my sub accounts I'll have to migrate to another email service like gmail.  Can anyone help????

Your primary account and sub accounts are separate accounts in Verizon. If you want to access your sub account's messages, you'll need to log into that account.

  • Transferring sub account email address to new Broa...

My daughter used an email address as a sub account on my main account. She recently became a new BT Broadband customer at another address.
She used my sub account email address as a BT ID on her new account and can access her account information.
However her email address is no longerfunctioning as an email address, not being recognised as such. consequently she cannot access her emails.
Can the moderators arrange to transfer her email address and emails to her new account as her main email address?
    Many thanks

  • Sub-Account Email not working

Although I've successfully created sub-accounts in the past, this weekend I created a new sub-account but the associated email does not seem to be working properly. I can log onto the the account and access the web email for this new sub-account. However, there is only the introductory "Congratulations on your new account" email from verizon in the inbox. I do not receive any other new emails even though I have sent several from various different addresses. I was able to successfully send emails from the new account (although as of this morning that does not seem to be working either).
I have not set up any block senders, there is nothing in the Spam folder. I tried creating another sub-account with the same results. I'm still under my sub-account limit so should be fine there.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Larry

  • Swapping Sub-account email for Main account email ...

    Hi,
Some years ago when we first set up BT broadband my son entered the details online and set his email address as the primary account. He's now moving on and I'd like to update this to have my email (currently a sub-account) as the main account email. How can this be done? Any guidance greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

  • Vacation Reply For Email Sub Accounts?

Is there a way to set up a vacation reply for my sub account email addresses?  I seem to be able to do it for my primary email address only.  Additional information - the primary is the only one that receives email in Verizon Webmail (the primary and subaccounts all receive email in my iMac OSX Mail).

In order to set up a vaction reply for the sub account, you have to log into webmail with it and set it up there. Logging in as the primary only gives you access to settings for the primary.

  • Cannot Access my Email - sub-account only

For 24 hours I have been unable to access my sub account email from the web, my computer client or my smartphone. However, I continue to receive my primary account email. I have been told it is a widespread problem but I don't see widespread comments here. The message when I attempt login is: "The information you entered does not match the information we have on file." There is no doubt that I have the correct username and password. I have used this account for over 10 years. I checked in my MyVerizon Primary account settings and my sub account is still listed. I called Support and they told me it would be worked on 'soon'.Anyone else have this experience and any solution identified?

All my email accounts (Outlook on PCs, Apple Mail and Outlook for MAC) time out when I try to get email. My Verizon Yahoo on line (I think you call that a primary account) does work, but none of the local accounts can connect.  After support checked my email settings three times and found them to be correct, they said their server was undergoing "scheduled maintenance".  This actually happens to me every once in a while and I go through the same **bleep** with verizon.  Personally I think their server needs more capacity.  I too am surprised that there are not more complaints on here.  This HAS to be a universal problem.

  • Sub account lockout

Your assessment of Verizon is DEAD ON!  They suck **bleep**!  I have now been locked out of a sub account email I CREATED and have attempted to access thru generation of a temporary PIN 9 (YES NINE!!!) times to no avail.  The process diverts to my primary email acct/user name every time and informs me I am "locked out" of sub account due to multiple log in failures. Interesting as the password on my sub account is the same as my primary.  The only way to resolve is to call Verizon which takes a BARE MINIMUM of 1 hour.  I think it is time for a new provider for ALL Verizon services.  Being as you are new, take this as a clear indication that you should run, don't walk, from Verizon.  Seriously consider how your first experience with Verizon has played out.  Best of luck to you!

    Hi MatiBob,
Sorry for the delayed response as I'm just getting your post.  Have you been able to get this taken care of or are you still needing help?  If you do, please send us a private message with your details and we would be happy to help you investigate

  • Sub Accounts Link with Primary Address

Is it possible that a  sub-account email address can be linked to the primary address and the subsequent emails appear at the same time in the Inbox. Thanks for any help.

Yes, you can do that from the Yahoo mail account of the sub address
Options - Mail Options - POP and forwarding
Enter the address that you wish to forward it to.

  • Unable to create iTunes account for MobileMe Family sub-accounts

    Greatings,
I was wondering if anyone else had encountered this problem. I am attempting to set up iTunes accounts for a family member who has a mobileMe sub account on my family pack. The MobileMe account works fine in all other respects except when I go to iTunes and enter the id and pass word I an taken to the screen to accept the terms of service and select the country (Canada in my case) and all goes well until I have to enter the address and billing info. At that point the system says sorry can't proceed try again some other time. several other times later it still won't work.
Is this a limitation of the sub-accounts on mobileMe?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
    M

I was having the same trouble with my MobileMe sub-accounts (MobileMe Family Plan). I went through all the support emails and calls with no success. I fixed the problem by removing the affected sub-account/email address and then re-established the same sub-account/email address. When you re-establish the sub-account/email address it will tell you that you cannot since it already exists - but there is an option to re-establish the sub-account/email address by entering the correct password. After I did this, I could manage the sub-account/email address with no problems whether it was in iTunes or in the management of the AppleID settings.

  • Sub-account cannot send email from Apple Mail

I've tried setting up two sub-accounts to send/receive email but no matter what I try, these accounts error out on sending email.  Looks like they aren't recognized by smtp server.  Is there a different setting for sub-accounts?

I fixed my problem - I deleted my email account on my iPhone, then tried to setup a new account. I had a few problems setting it up. It wouldn't recognize the incoming or outgoing servers and I lost my email altogether for a few hours. Then I changed every setting possible and finally figured out that I had 2-3 "Other SMTP Servers" as well as my "Primary Server". Once I deleted the Other SMTP Servers, my email worked and i'm able to send emails now!
I also think changing the "Server Port" number helped solve my problem also, and making sure "Use SSL" was turned off.
