Subcontracting: delivery of components directly to subcontractor

Dear experts,
I have the following process at my client:
Via a purchasing process, my client orders components at a vendor. This vendor delivers the components directly to the subcontractor who performs certain activities before sending the new assembled goods towards my client.
The problem I have with this process is how to handle the good receipt of the purchase order and how to make sure the stock is afterwards issued towards the subcontractor?
The subcontracting process is set up as a specific purchase order.
I'm sure you have come accross a similar process in your past. Could you please shed some light on this topic?
It's much appreciated!
M

Regarding your query, " Consequently, the above means that when setting up the subcontracting order, that this order will only contain the parts that are to be shipped from stock (and not the parts that are ordered at another vendor and delivered at the subcontractor). Correct?"
This is not correct as You will make a subcontracting order with all the components tht part to be shipped from the stock and the parts that are ordered at another vendor and delivered at the subcontractor.
1. You have two purchase orders one Normal Po with delivery to subcontracting vendor and other subcontracting PO.
2. On doing Goods Receipt for normal Po it will take movement type as 101 O that is stock provided to vendor.
3. For subcontracting Po you will do MB1b or ME2o for the parts to be provided to the vendor that is 541.
4. On doing Goods Receipt for subcontracting PO the part provided by  the vendor will get consumed with 543 O and that provided from your own stock with movement type 543.

  • FM to create subcontracting delivery lines

    Hi Folks,
We are using one custom function module to create subcontracting delivery lines. Inside this custom FM, we are using ME_COMPONENTS_MAINTAIN function module first to maintain the components and then ME_UPDATE_SCHEDULES_DISPO to create delivery lines for the schedule agreement. Actually the ME_COMPONENTS_MAINTAIN is displaying a screen where you have to maintain the material, wquantit etc. manually. But we dont want that. We need to create subcontracting delivery lines without manual intervention. Is there any FM available for this requorement? Or else can I use ME_UPDATE_SCHEDULES_DISPO directly to create subcontracting delivery lines? I know this query is more functional than technical. Kindly provide your inputs.
    Thanks,

(about halfway down, Stefan Berger's post)
I've not completely tested this yet, but whilst investigating a similar problem, I came across the above thread. ME_COMPONENTS_MAINTAIN has a paramater "I_FCALL" which if you set to 'X' doesn't call the screens, and just runs in background.
You can also see the variable population by putting a breakpoint in the top of this fm, and then running the frontend transaction.

  • EKET-FIXKZ set after partial goods receipt of subcontract delivery schedule

    Dear all,
when booking a partial goods receipt (via MIGO) of the finished product of a subcontract delivery schedule the schedule line becomes fixed (EKET-FIXKZ = 'X'), which hinders the next MRP run to modify the delivery schedule according to the new requirements.
I have tested to change the fixing indicator via SE16 and the next MRP run will then replan the sub contract delivery schedule correctly. But this is no solution.
Is there a way to modify this setting via an EXIT or BADI in MIGO ?
    Many thanky for your help

  • Subcontract PO - suppress components.

    Hello All,
Is there a way to suppress components from printing on a subcontract PO ouput (NEU)?   Our company creates subcontract PO with 250 components.  We would like to stop printing the components when PO's are printed.   I could not see anything obvious on the Material data tab or settings that prevents list from printing on the NEU ouput.

  • Subcontracting POs -- planning components with MRP

    Hi!
I would really appreciate getting your help to resolve the following issue.
Ex: We use subcontracting to get our vendor to produce Part X with components A, B and C that we supply (we may have the components in stock or we may need to buy them externally).  We use subcontracting BoMs.
When MRP runs, it creates a purchase req for Part X -- which is what we want.
But it doesn't create requisitions or reservations for components A, B and C.
MRP creates reqs or reserv. ONLY when I issue my purchase order for Part X.
How can I get MRP to issue requisitions or reservations for components A B and C while Part X is still at the requisition stage.
    Thank you!

    Hi
Have you selected dependent requirements in Material master (MRP view).
please check whether BOM explosion selected for MRP in IMG.

  • Subcontracting Delivery (LB) split through ME2O

    Hi Folks,
When I try to delivery multiple materials from the same PO through ME2O, they get split into multiple deliveries. Lets say I have selected about 10 materials in one transaction, I see that 3 materials go into one delivery, 2 each go into two seperate deliveries while the rest into individual deliveries. This way I now have about 6 deliveries for a single PO.
I want to understand how this split is working and how to avoid?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Sajesh
I have come across same problem which you have mentioned here .
Could I request you to brief me how did you solve this problem .?
Also,  could I request you to interpret your words u201C Requirement date seems be to be reason for the splitu201D.
Which requirement date are you referring to .
I will reiterate that ship to party , schedule line , shipping point are same . but still delivery split has happened  while creating delivery in ME2O.
I appreciate if you reply soon on this .
    Thanks in Advance .

  • Creation outbound delivery based on subcontracting purchase order

    Dear experts,
I have the following flow: I'm creating a subcontracting order with a number of component in a BOM. I need an outbound delivery for each subcontracting order (and I'm likely to have multiple subcontracting orders per vendor per day), with a link in the delivery of both the FG (to be produced by the subcontractor) or at least the subcontracting PO. I've already looked at the ME2O transaction but this one seems to consolidate everything to one delivery per vendor, without a link to the PO.
An aditional requirement is that we need to be able to do a mass-creation of the deliveries,
    Thanks in advance,
    M

the delivery of components to a subcontractor has no relation to a subcontract order in core SAP.
Such feature is only possible with the new AD_SUBCON enhancement  if I am not mistaken

  • Third party PO issue

    Hello Friends,
    I have scenario as below:
I am purchasing packing material X (with value say Rs 5)from a vendorA & deliver it directly to vendor B ,from whom I am purchasing material Y (say value Rs 100) & which is packed in material X.
The client wants to receive the material back material Y packed in X , and pay him only Rs 100 , but the value updation of this should get as Rs 105.
If required I can make a new material master for the packed material received from the client.
Kindly guide me in mapping this scenario.
    Thanks in Advance

Yes, it is again third party processing but with a difference, no item category, no account assignment category and no sales order is required. In subcontracting process normally components are delivered from the companyu2019s warehouse. But sometimes to meet some business specific requirement, a purchase order is placed to vendor with instruction that the components to be delivered at an address of subcontracting vendor instead of the companyu2019s warehouse address. On receipt of the purchase order, the vendor will deliver the goods/components directly to subcontractor address.
    Purchase Order for Components
Under this process a standard purchase order with a different delivery address is created. In the delivery address dialog box the vendor number is entered and the SC vendor box is checked. Checking the box is the deciding factor for the components that these are posted to subcontractor stock at the time of goods receipt.
    Goods Receipt of the Components
On receipt of the confirmation from the subcontractor that the components have arrived at his address, goods receipt can be entered for the purchase order. On entering the goods receipt, the components are posted directly to the stock of the material provided to vendor at plant level. Quantity and value are also updated at plant level.
    Goods Receipt for End Products
On receipt of end product from subcontractor, a goods receipt for the subcontract order is entered in the same way as for a standard purchase order. But this good receipt will be again different from the good receipt for a standard purchase order as it covers following two types of goods movements.
Goods receipt items for the materials supplied by the vendor Goods issue items for the components
Valuation The goods receipt is valuated at the subcontract price (services charges) plus the value of the components consumed.

  • THIRD PART SCENARIO

    Dear All,
I am very much new in third party scenario.Pls help me in the following:
    1) In what cases does the third party scenario happens?
    2) Through MM-Purchasing what is the one full cycle of this scenario i.e. from whereit starts and where it ends including the t/codes step-by-step?
Any type of help willbe highly appreciable.

    Hi,
    In third party scenario,
1.Create Sale Order with item category TAS,
2.After MRP Run PR will get generate with Item category S, appropriate A/c
    Assignment category
3.Covert the PR in to PO, PO will gets created with Item Category S,appropriate A/c
    Assignment category
4.Vendor will despatch the material directly to Customer
5.In your plant do logical GR or post MIRO directly
6.Customer will make payment to you
7.You have to make payment to the vendor.
In case if you want to use third party scenario in Sub contracting Enter the third party vendor in Sub contracting Po item detail deleivery address tab and mark him as SC vendor.
Vendor will send the components directly to Subcontractor. But, You need to do migo for Finished Good.
In addition to above please find some more stuff related to this below:
    THIRD PARTY SCENARIO
In third-party order processing, your company does not deliver the items requested by a customer. Instead, you pass the order along to a third-party vendor who then ships the goods directly to the customer and bills you. A sales order may consist partly or wholly of third-party items. Occasionally, you may need to let a vendor deliver items you would normally deliver yourself.
    Process Flow
The processing of third-party orders is controlled via material types. Material types define whether a material is produced only internally, can be ordered only from third-party vendors, or whether both are possible. For example, a material that is defined as a trading good can only be ordered from a third-party vendor. However, if you manufacture your own finished products, you may also want, from time to time, to be able to order the same type of product from other vendors.
    Processing Third-Party Orders in Sales
Third-party items can be created automatically by the system, depending on how your system is set. However, you can also change a standard item to a third-party item during sales processing manually.
    Automatic third-party order processing
If a material is always delivered from one or more third-party vendors, you can specify in the material master that the material is a third-party item. During subsequent sales order processing, the system automatically determines the appropriate item category for a third-party item: TAS. To specify a material as a third-party item, enter BANS in the Item category group field in the Sales 2 screen of the material master record.
    Manual third-party order processing
In the case of a material that you normally deliver yourself but occasionally need to order from a third-party vendor, you can overwrite the item category during sales order processing. For a material that you normally deliver yourself, you specify the item category group NORM in the material master.
If, as an exception, you use a third-party material, change the entry TAN to TAS in the ItCa field when processing the sales document. The item is then processed as third-party item.
If address data for the ship-to party is changed in the sales order in third-party business transactions, the changed data will automatically be passed on to purchase requisition and also to the purchase order ,if one already exists. In the purchase order, you can display the address data for the ship-to party in the attributes for the item.
You can only change the address data for the ship-to party in the sales order for third-party business transactions, and not in the purchase order.
    Processing Third-Party Orders in Purchasing
When you save a sales order that contains one or more third-party items, the system automatically creates a purchase requisition in Purchasing. Each third-party item in a sales order automatically generates a corresponding purchase requisition item. During creation of the requisition, the system automatically determines a vendor for each requisition item. If a sales order item has more than one schedule line, the system creates a purchase requisition item for each schedule line.
Purchase orders are created from purchase requisitions in the usual way. For more information about creating purchase orders, see the Purchasing documentation. During creation of the purchase order, the system automatically copies the delivery address of your customer from the corresponding sales order. In a sales order, you can enter purchase order texts for each third-party item. When you create the corresponding purchase order, the texts are automatically copied into the purchase order. The number of the purchase order appears in the document flow information of the sales order.
All changes made in the purchase order are automatically made in the sales order as well. For example, if the vendor confirms quantities and delivery dates different from those you request and enters them in the purchase order, the revised data is automatically copied into the sales order
You process third-party items by creating a normal sales order. In overview for the order, you can then overwrite the default item category (TAN in the standard system) with the special item category for third-party items: TAS
    Billing Third-Party Orders
If relevance for billing indicator for the item category has been set to B (relevant for order-related billing on the basis of the order quantity) in Customizing, the system includes the order in the billing due list immediately. If, however, the indicator has been set to F (relevant to order-related billing on the basis of the invoice quantity), the system does not include the order in the billing due list until an invoice from the vendor has been received and processed by the purchasing department. In the standard system, item category TAS (third-party order processing) has been given billing-relevance indicator F.
In the first case, the third-party order is considered to be completely billed only when the invoiced quantity equals the order quantity of the sales order item. In the second case, each time a vendor invoice is received, a customer invoice is created for the quantity in the vendor invoice and the order is considered to be fully invoiced until the next vendor invoice is received.
If you have activated billing-relevance indicator F for item categories in Customizing, billing can refer to the goods receipt quantity instead of the incoming invoice quantity.
You can control whether the invoice receipt quantity or the quantity of goods received is relevant for billing in Customizing for copying control for billing at item level.
FOR YOUR PROCESS Individual Purchase Orders WELL GIVE THE RIGHT SOLUTION
Individual purchase orders are used when your customer orders goods from you that are not in stock and must be ordered from one or more external vendors.
    Process Flow
During sales order entry, the system automatically creates a purchase requisition item. The purchasing department creates a purchase order based on the requisition and the vendor ships the goods directly to you (unlike third party order processing, where the vendor ships directly to your customer). You then ship the goods to your customer. While the goods are part of your inventory, you manage them as part of the sales order stock. Sales order stock consists of stock that is assigned to specific sales orders and cannot be used for other purposes.
Third party order processing is as follows:
    Assume three companies X, Y and Z
    X - The company,
    y - The customer
    Z - Vendor
When ever X gets a PO from Y to supply some goods, X has an option of either manufacturing those goods or procuring those goods.
If he is procuring the goods, there are two methods that are generally followed:
Method 1) After receiving the PO from Y, X creates a sales order against Y.
Now at the same time he also creates a PO to a vendor Z to produce the goods
Z produces the goods and supplies to X
X receives the goods from Z
Then X delivers the same goods to Y.
    After that X invoices Y and Z invoices X.
Note : Here there is no direct/ Indirect relation between Z and Y.
This process is known as Trading Process. and the Material here is created with Material type HAWA.
The other method is a Third party order processing method:
Here the glaring difference is that instead of Z supplying the material to X and X in turn supplying the same material to Y.
X authorizes Z to supply the material to Y on his behalf and notify him once the delivery is complete.
Now Z supplies the material to Y and acknowledges the same to X.
Z will send a copy of delivery acknowledgement and invoice to X.
After receiving the delivery confirmation and invoice from Z, X has to verify the invoice and this process is known as invoice verification and is done in SAP through Tcode MIRO.
The next step for X is to create an invoice and submit to Y
Only after the invoice verification document is posted then only X can create an invoice for Y.
This is the business flow that is followed for third party order configuration.
There are few steps that have to be configured to enable the system to function as mentioned above.
    Step1)
If you are always following a third party process for a material then you have to create the material using item category group BANS.
The procurement type should be marked as External procurement (F) in MRP 2 view of the material master record.
if you are not always allowing third party order processing then u can create a material master record with item category group as NORM and the procurement type should be marked as ( X) meaning both types of procurement ( in house manufacturing and external procurement).
    Step 2)
the item category in the order should be manually changed as TAS.
For that you need to configure the item category determination
Order type + item cat Group + Usage + High level = Item cat + Manual item cat
    OR + NORM + + = TAN + TAS
    OR + BANS + + = TAS
    Step 3)
make sure that during the item category configuration for TAS you need to mark relevant for billing indicator as F
    step 4)
The schedule line category for this type should be CS.
make sure that you mark subsequent type as NB - purchase requisition in this schedule line category as this will trigger the purchase requisition order immediately after the creation of the sales order and the PO to vendor is created against this purchase requisition.
Revert back in case any doubts.

    Ashok
