Target/Actual/Planned Costs inProduction Order

All,
Can any one explain with example how planned, target, actual cost are calculated for a production order. and also when exactly these are recorded.
Thanks in advance
Sivaram

Hi Sivaram
Target Costs is Std costs for actual goods delivered
Actual Costs are for actual cost of material and activities for actual delivered stock
Here, delivered stock is same in both only the costs consdiered are diff
The diff between target and actual costs is posted to variance.
Goods movement is done with actual price of raw material generally.  If u hv price contrl S for RM then it is at standards and all variances are only related to quantity.
Actual costs are compared with standard costs of goods delivered to stock and varainces are calculated for the production order
Regarding scrap costs - it should be separate line item.  It depends on many other settings in BOM, Routing, MM and Cost comp structure.  Depending on where the scrap is defined calculations are done
If u have defined planned scrap, and is part of cost comp structure, u can get plan vs actual scrap costs
You can also have scrap as not part of cost comp structure and record only actual scrap costs.
Please assign points if the above clarifies further as a way to say thanks

  • Actual & planned costs calculated while creating Plant Maintenance Order

    Hi All,
I would like to know how the actual & planned costs calculated while creating Plant Maintenance Order (PM Order)
    Thanks,
    Ajay

You need to create an activity rate for 2014 for cost centre 51260201 and activity type NAHG20.
This can be done via transaction KP26, but is usually performed by your Finance team.

  • GR  for a Production order to be controlled on actual /planned cost

    Hi,
When I do a GR for a production order I want to restrict the GR if my actual cost of materials consumed for the production order is less that 80 % of the planned cost of that production order. There is no provision for restricting the above.
When GR is done for a partial quantity of the production order, the system should consider and compare the GR quantity material cost against the same GR quantity Planned cost in the production order. If the GR quantity actual material value is less than 80% of the GR quantity material planned value, then the system should stop the GR to stores.
    Eg:
Production Order for 10 Units of material “X”
    BOM for “X” are Material “A”, “B” and “C”
    Planned quantity to manufacture 10 units of material “X” is: “A” – 10 unit, “B” – 10 Unit, “C” – 10 Unit
The planned value for the material BOM is : “A” – 100
                                  “B” – 75
                                  “C” – 25
Total Value to manufacture material “X” is Rs .200
    Case 1
If only 5 units are manufactured using the production order.
The GR to stores must be allowed only after the system check the total actual materials consumed in the production to produce 5 units exceeds 80% of the 5 units planned material cost.
Planned Material Value               Actual Material Value
    A. 510 = 50                         A. 59 = 4
    B. 57.5 = 37.5                         B. 56 = 30
    C. 52.5 = 12.5                         C. 52 = 10
Total planned material Value is Rs 100            Total actual material Value is Rs 85
The above case shows that the actual material consumed in the production order is more than 80% of the planned materials. So, the system should allow the GR to stores.
It should check only material cost only.
    Case 1I
If 10 units are manufactured using the production order.
The GR to stores must be allowed only after the system check the total actual materials consumed in the production to produce 10 units exceeds 80% of the 10 units planned material cost.
Planned Material Value                    Actual Material Value
    A. 1010 = 100                         A. 109 = 90
    B. 107.5 = 75                            B. 56 = 30
    C. 102.5 = 25                                     C. 52 = 10
Total planned material Value is Rs 200          Total actual material Value is Rs.130
The above case shows that the actual material consumed value in the production order is less than 80% of the planned materials. So, the system should not allow the GR to stores.
It should check only material cost only.
CAN ANY ONE SUGGEST ME ON THE ISSUE
    Regards
    Madan Mohan

    Madan,
Try using the userexit in enhancement MBCF0002.
    (A) Now the Planned cost can be calculated from the RESB table passing the Order no. For all the line items in RESB calculate the planned cost = Price * Qty.
    (B) For actual costs take it from AUFM for mvt type 261. The fields DMBTR will give you the value. Sum for all line items.
Now suppose the GR bing done now is 5. This you will get in the user exit. In the exit check from CAUFV whta was the GR already posted. Say this is 2. So the total GR is 5 + 2 = 7.
    Planned cost for 7 = (A) / Order Qty * 7
    Actual cost = (B)
Compare planned and actual and give yr message,

  • Mismatch between Actaul and Plan cost on Order

    Good Day;
We have the following issue in SAP that needs to be resolved.
When creating a work order it pulls the prices fort he materials from the maintenance planning plant.
The actual prices on goods issue is determined through the supply process which points to a different plant.
These materials is then issued directly to the order.
This results that the price from the planning plant is not updated and then a huge variance is created on the plan/actual cost on the PM order.
Is there a way that we can do the planning still in the planning plant, but use the supply process to extract the plan price from the plant that will be actually issuing the material.
The prices in the planning plant does not get updated as the stock is going directly to the order and not through theplanning plant where the plan prices comes from.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Check the standard price or moving average price in accounting view in material.
plan cost of material is coming from here only.

  • Actual/plan cost report

    guru,
in production order,cost------>analysis ,i am not getting actual/plan layout,
    please help

    Hi Guru,
You can get it this combination of Cost Element Plan-Actual, Plan Qty , Actual Qty in the "Cost Trend" layout itself.
Once you choose that layout, then you go to "change layout" again and select "Plant Qty" and "Actual Qty" fields. You will be able to see the above comparison.
If you want it in a report format, go to KKBC_ORD transaction, give the Order number, chagne the Layout once you get the report, select "Plan Qty", "Actual Qty" fields...
Pls revert back if you face any problem...

  • Actual Freight Costs - Production Order

How can we include actual Freight Costs (to be paid to outside Vendor) on a Production Order?
We need to be able to create an Invoice to our Vendor for freight (or other services) but shouldn't this be linked to the Production Order?
Any help appreciated - sorry if this is a dumb q, i'm very new working with Production Orders.
I appreciate any help - Thanks

Maintain control Key - PP02, maintain the external processing details in the operation details view. i.e. maintain price, vendor & other reqd. details
If you do this on a regular basis maybe you can set up an Purchasing Info Record, which you can then assign in the routing operation, thereby each new order will carry this information.
If you're not quite sure, do a test in your sandbox, also search for operation sub-contracting in this forum, you should find a lot of info, also on SAP help.
Revert if you face any specific issue.

    Hi,
There are COOM data source which may suits your needs.
    please check data source
    0CO_OM_WBS_6
    0CO_OM_WBS_3
Base tables are COSP and COSS.
Check about coom data source, if not suitable then go for custom data source.

    please suggest.
    regards

    Hi,
Planned cost is nothing but the Standard values which you give for each opearation in the routing.
The actual values from the confirmation for production order
The following table and fields you can get the values
PLPO, AFVC  - look for setup time, labor time, machine time  fields
AFRU - look for the required fields setup, labor, mcahine time etc
    Thanks and regards

  • Production Order doesn't show planned costs

    Please,  help me!
When I save the order production, despite in configuration is set "Calculate planned costs when order is saved" & when is saving the order apears "Calculating costs" at the bottom of the window  the order doesn't show costs analysis when I review the order in CO02 or CO03.
I am using SAP ECC 6.0
    Thank you!

    Donald,
I think for your Order type / Plant combination automatic calculation of Planned cost is not defined,  you can check this in transaction OPL8, these defination would be in Controlling tab.
Check for Planned cost calc field:
    The following options exist:
0: No planned costs are calculated when saving
1: Planned costs are calculated when saving, if the order has been released and having REL status.
2: Planned costs are calculated when saving.
I think in your case the option or 2 is being used, so you need to perform the Cost function manually for the planned cost for the order to get calculated.

    Prasobh

  • Target cost, planned cost, actual cost difference

    Hi!
As per my understanding , the target cost, planned cost, actual will be calculated like blow:
Actual cost = Actual quanity * Actual price ( standard price or moving average price) existed at the time of goods movement.
Planned cost = Planned quantity * Planned price ( standard price or moving average price) existed at the time of production order release based on valuation variant strategy.
Target cost = Planned Quantity * Actual price ( standard price or moving average price) when calculating variances.
    whether above formulas are correct?
I have one scenario, where in process order, I am not seeing Planned quanity for compoenent/raw material, but target quanity is existed. How it is possible. When I have checked the BOM in process order, the BOM does not contain the componenet.
    regs,
    ramesh

    Hi,
Target Cost = Costs as per the standard cost estimate * Actual Qty delivered.
For e.g. Std cost for one unit of material-x is as follows.
    RM 1 - 10kg * 10 /-  = 100
    Activity 1 - 5 Hr * 50 /-  = 250
If the actual delivery from the production is 2 units, then target cost will update as
    Under Goods Issue, RM 1 - (10kg*2units) * 10 /- = 200
    Under Confirmations, Activity 1 - (5 Hr*2units) * 50/- = 500
    Total = 200+500 = 700
Target cost for goods issue/confirmation of activities will update only when the Goods receipt has been done but not at the time of goods issue or Confirmation of activities.
Target cost for Goods Receipt will update only when the variance has been calculated for the order.
