Template Folder for Approval Process in KM Repository

Hi,
I have the following scenario:
There is a Folder that has been set up with an approval step and approvers.
What i need to do is to copy this folder to another location in the same repository and the approval process.
For example:
In the folder /documents/Sales/ApprovalTemplate/ is defined the following step:
STEP: Content Validation
Approvers: salesApproverGroup
I create a new folder: /documents/Sales/Presentations
Inside that folder I want to copy the folder /documents/Sales/ApprovalTemplate/. That's no problem. But when the folder is copied here: /documents/Sales/Presentations/ApprovalTemplate/ it has no more approval steps neither approvers. Whatsmore, the approval process isn't enabled.
Is there any way to manage to copy folders and copy approval process?

Error in actual template allocation for Business Process

Gurus,
I am facing a strange problem in actual template allocation for business process (T-code: CPAS). When I am doing a test run, the system gives the result with a message "Processing completed with no errors", However when I have unchecked the test run and ran the allocation, system shows me the result, however no posting takes place. The message I am getting is:
"Data not updated due to errors". The details of this error message are:
No information was found
Message no. GU444
Diagnosis
The system could not find the necessary information.
I am absolutely clueless and have no idea where things have gone wrong. I have maintained the activity and cost center properly. The template I am using is also ok.
Request your help on this. Any suggestion would be highly appreciated.

With such kind of error " "Data not updated due to errors". " its very difficult so determine the exact cause of the issue .
Did your selection parameters in CPAS has a tick on detailed list . Please tick the detailed list icon and run KPAS again and let me know if you are getting more detailed error from SAP.

Provision for Approval process

Dear Experts,
I have a requirement "To be able to provision for Approval process by FInance, when role of business partner upgraded from prospect to customer"
I guess this is done through Workflow concept. but I don't have Idea in detail.

About your questions...
1. According to my knowleadge there is no such standard functonality. But I implemented something similar in our company in the folowing way:
- prospect is created in CRM
- when prospect needs to be transformed to customer, salesman issues task with filled questionary
- finance departments receives this task and if it agrees transforms frospect to customer in ERP with VA07
2. If you mean that only certain data should be maintained by certain companies, then only via coding this could be achieved.
3. If you mean that in relatonship you define, to which organization contat person belongs, then I'm not sure. Never tried it. For employees I know it is possible so robably it could be done also for contact persons.
4. You can store documents. But if you want to have special access to this documents, then this would not be the case.
5. Yes. You can use account hierarchies for that.

NEW FOLDER, for word processing, like Page and others?

We're with a new IMac & iWork. We want to start a folder for docs if not also templates. It is for a word processing folder under Page, iWork and new Mac OSX.

When you choose to save as a template they will automatically be placed in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Application Support > iWork > Pages > Templates > My Templates. This folder will be automagically created if it doesn't already exist. Of course, you can save them anywhere, but this folder lets them be seen in the template chooser.
You want to keep any documents you create in your Documents folder. You can create any number of sub-folders, even sub-sub-sub-folders. Many dialog boxes are "collapsed" by default. Click the triangle in the blue box to expand your options. Here are some other helpful (I hope) pictures.

Is it possible to create a hot folder for batch processing?

I know that it's possible to make a droplet for preflight, but is it possible to create a droplet or a hot folder for another batch processes (mine crops the pages)? Or at least make a keyboard shortcut? It's so unproductive to go Advanced>Document Processing>Batch Processing>Run>Close (Adobe spoiled us with custom shortcuts in other programs)...

Executing a workitem from UWL for approval process in ESS/MSS

Hi All,
I am working on ESS/MSS workflows...Everything is configured and also workflow is developed...When i try to execute a workitem from UWL to approve a PCR, i am getting a message in the status bar as "work item exucuted(new processing status:"in process"). But it's not launching the SAP transaction for approval.
Can anyone tell what is the probelm....

History for approval process

Hi out there,
Is it possible to see the approval history of a document?
For example:
File test.txt
- 05/10/08 file created by Mr.X
- 05/11/08 submit for approval by Mr.X
- 05/12/08 rejected by Mr.Y in step1
- 05/13/08 submit for approval by Mr.X
- 05/14/08 approved by Mr.Y in step 1
- 05/15/08 approved by Mr.Y in step 2

There is no standard tool to check this information.
I would suggest that you write your own portal component to achieve this.
Look into KM API's to do this:

Here you see how to access IStatemanagementUtilsResource object of each KM File (method createFolderStmgUtilsResource).

The information "05/10/08 file created by Mr.X " is just a property on the document, so just read the property from km document (KM Property is createdby):

How to Improve inserts into Template table for Query Processing

Hi guys!
I need your advice. How can i improve inserts into template table (/BI0/0P00000010 for exemple)? In my scenario i forced to load data from cube C_X to cubes C_1, C_2 and C_3.
To get a goal i created a transformations and a DTP process with delta upload to each of cubes (C_1, C_2, C3). And that proccess takes about 3 hours! (it doesn't matter 1.000 or 100.000 records). But when i tried to load data with full update (with a filter) a proccess get data takes about 1 minutes.
I traced process and saw that inserting into template table (which create each time when proccess started) take the longest time. How can i improve it?

It will require some efforts to investigate it so I propose to open a support ticket with Microsoft (through portal).
Your first question interest me and I am not sure if you are doing proactive or reactive real time reporting. You can try with
HBase for storing and retrieving data. HBase known for providing good read and write speed. If you are not comfortable writing HBase syntax then you can add an abstraction layer i.e. HIVE. It might take little more time when you
query HBase from Hive.
If you are doing real time analytic, then you can choose from Strom and Microsoft Azure Stream Analytic.

Time inconsistency for approval process

This is strange.
The time to improve a new book has been improved dramatically from a few month to a few days. My latest book was approved in two days.
However, i uploaded revisions for two of my books and they are still in review for almost three weeks now, no tickets, just sitting there.
Anybody have a similar experience?

Creation of Approval process folder in KM

Hi,
I have created a folder in KM content for the approval process under the document directory. The approval process, the notifications in UWL, emails everythign works fine. I then created a 'KM content navigation iview' for displaying this particular folder. Now the problem is I dot get the 'Submit for Approval " menu item in this iview. This menu item is normally under Selection->Approval->Submit for Approval in the KM content view.
Any ideas on how to get this done ?
All I need to do is to create a folder for approval process so that the users can create any document and submit for approval. I want this folder to be displayed via an iview where the user can submit for approval process.

I worked on a similar thing.
You just have to choos ethe right layout set for ur iview.
Modify the AdminExplorer Layout set.In AdminCollectionListRenderer choose StatemanagementMassGroup as the Mass command group.
Go to Iview 's properties and change the layout set to ur's new customised one.
I hope u know how to modify the layout set.

Skipping ' submit for Approval '

I am setting up a document workflow process in KM . I have a requirement as follows ..
Once a document is uploaded into the folder ( which is assigned with set of approval steps and
users ) , I need to send all the documents in that folder for approval process with out Approver admin manually clicking ' submit for Approval ' button . Is this possible by configuration or we need to write some extra code .

Hi Aneez,
yes you will need to write some extra code. The concept would be like that:
1. you will have to implement an eventlistener which will be called, if a document is created or uploaded.
2. this event listener has to call the API of the statemanagement service in order to submit the document.
3. For each repository of interst, you can register your event listener using the getEventBroker method.
There you have to specify the events, you are intersted in.

Please keep in mind, that this is only a scatch how it may work. You have to ensure, that the statemanagement is enabled for the parent folder of the resource. Otherwise, the transition may be null or not executable.

How to set up approval process for test case in SAP solution manager?

Hi Experts,
We need to setup a 2 level approval process for test case documents in SAP Solution Manager.
e.g. If test case document is uploaded for transaction "MM01" then first it will go to Reviewer1. Once Reviewer1 approves it , should go to Reviewer2.
Adn finally once reviewer2 approves it , it will be complete.
What are the required configurations and steps for approval process setup? It will be helpful if screenshots and detailed steps are provided.

Submit for approval in KM - automatically?

Hi guys!
When I create document in folder, where Approval process is enabled , I have to click on "Submit for approval", when I want to send document for approval.
Is it possible to send it for approval automatically? SO I create document and it is automatically sent to approvers inbox..

I think without coding no way.
You can create a repository service which will listen to events like <b>ResourceEvent.CREATE_CHILD</b>. When the event is caught the repository service will submit the resource for approval. For more info about repository services just search the SDN (or let me know).

Automate approval process

Hi All,
Here is the scenario..
when we upload document(s) into a KM folder which is enabled for Approval process, we want to skip the first step "User clicking on submit for approval" button for starting the Approval workflow, whenever we create documents it has to go directly to approval workflow.. any ideas on this...

Approval Process Not triggering?

Hello,
I have created a simple Approval process in which request should go to the Beneficiary manager through JDEVELOPER. I have also registered this Approval process with OIM.
After that i have created two Approval policies..
REQUEST LEVEL--
This is Auto Approved.
Approval Rule :: Template Name equals Provision Resource.
Set Priority : 1 (Request Type=Provision Resource)
OPERATIONAL LEVEL --
Approval Process attcahed at this level.
Approval Rule :: Template Name equals Provision Resource.
When i am creating a request for a particular resource the request is getting assigned to XELSYSADM by default (as per the Developers Guide for OIM 11g, if no approval policy is attached with the template the default Approval process gets trigerred and the request gets assigned to XELSYSADM.)
Can somebody help me by telling why the Default Approval process is getting triggered and not the one which i have attached at the Operational level?
Am i missing Something?

As i have mentioned earlier, it is configured such that the appropriate approval process is triggered when a request for particualr resources is requested.
There are multiple tasks in each one of the approval process.
The approvals were triggering well 2 days ago and suddenly there seams to be a problem in the approval triggering.
The approval process was not edited / updated for any of these resources. Wondering why suddenly OIM does not work well for the approval triggering???
here the problem is none of the configured approval processes are triggering. Its not just one approval process but all 12 approval processes (including standard approval) are not triggering when the request is raised.
Appreciate your help till now, please suggest me how to make OIM trigger the approvals again!
