Thinking of upgrading to a Zen V plus but have some questi

I own a MicroPhoto and very happy with it. The only reason im thinking of upgrading is that I hurt my back which left my right thumb numb so using the touch scroll/enter has become more work then anything else..
There are 2 different MP3 players im looking at buying:
The Zen v Plus or the Sansa e260
My main question is about the video aspect of the video player.
. Is there a file size limit's
2. Does it break up larger files into to smaller parts? The Sansa e260 does this( or did havnt recheck the new updates) into 0min files. Thinking of ripping a movie or 2 and stick it on for long doctor visits.( 2 mroe surgerys for my back)
3. How is the play back?
How is the new joystick for control?
Thanks

Ah - so a few weeks ago I was in the same situation myself. I finally opted for the Creative Zen V Plus (4Gb).
The video is actually pretty good on the ZVP... I have ripped a couple of DVD's and converted them using the provided software. It leaves them in a smaller single file. It tells me the format and lets you choose between wide screen (something of a joke on this little jewel) and cropped screen - meaning you won't see the left and right edges. I was surprised that the 5fps worked so well. I mean - I didn't really notice.
The joystick I have a little problem with. It could be bigger or fatter or something. I occasionally have to use my thumbnail to move it. In contrast, the wheel on the Sansa is easy to use but the play buttons were a real pain to press.
I also note that the SANSA requires a special cable for charging and connecting to your computer while the ZVP uses a standard USB A to Mini cable (I must have thirty of those laying around these days).
I was unaware the Sansa had the feature of chopping up your videos. That's a bummer. On the other hand, Sansa has been talking to the folks at RockBox and that could give them a whole other dimension for their player.
I miss the FM record feature on the ZVP (not that I *ever* used it on my iRi'ver - I'd just like it available). And I miss the OGG playback (which I *did* use).
What it came down to for me were these:
a) The Creative Zen V Plus is smaller than the Sansa (nice)
b) The Sansa has that oddball cable thing going on (bummer)
c) The Sansa's buttons are hard to press (double bummer)
So I got the ZVP. I hope this hel
ps.

  • I am thinking about upgrading OS to Mavericks or Yosemite, but I do not know if my Adobe suites Elements 10 and Photoshop 10 are compatible. Adobe site does not contain this information anywhere.

I should be very grateful if someone can confirm definitively whether Photoshop Elements 10, and Premiere Elements 10 would run on Mac OS Mavericks and Yosemite, to which I am thinking of upgrading to?  Thanks in advance

The suggested Roaring Apps Table is not helpful. It shows both my Adobe Apps as compatible with all the latest Apple OS, except Snow Leopard, which is actually the App I currently use them with!! So this is clearly not accurate. I still need help with definitive answer. Any Adobe Staff out there?

  • Zen Stone Plus wont play some mu

My player is only playing about a third of the songs that is on the player
Does anyone know how to fix this?

I've just started to find out how we can use folders as playlists on the Zen Stone Plus. So I started to create a couple of folders in the root directory of the Stone Plus. However it seems like I cant create more than 4 folders, so that's kinda like saying I can only have 4 playlists. Am I doing something wrong or is there really such a limitation for this mp3 player?

  • Thinking of buying Vision M to replace Zen Micro...have some queries on internal batte

After?wearing my 2-year-old zen micro into the ground, I've decided I want a Vision M. With my old micro, I'd?got through two batteries and was well on my way to a third - the battery just wasn't lasting long e nough?anymore. With the removable battery, I just replaced it, but I'm worried as to what will happen if I buy a Vision M. If the battery gets to the stage when it only lasts about 3-5 hours of play time, what would I do? I don't know if integrated batteries are more substancial than removable ones...if someone could let me know about this that'd be great. Thanks?in advance?=)

I had this same question and did some searching. I found the following site;http://www.anythingbutipod.com/archi'ves/2006/02/how-to-disassemble-the-creative-zen-vision-m.phpI'm guessing this would void the waranty, but I'm also guessing that by the time this was required the waranty wouldn't be a issue anymore anyway. • Thinking of switching but have some questions?

I'm thinking about using my upgrade and get the iPhone...I currently have the Blackeberry Tour....I also have an iTunes account...how do I get the phone up and running?  I always purchased a new phone at the store and they set it up for me.  Will all of my information from my BB transfer to the iPhone?  Can this be done from the store or do I have to do it at my with my iTunes account?
    Thanks!

  • Upgraded to version 5.0 (4099) but have lost internet radio

I have recently upgraded my Apple TV software as homesharing was not working.  Now that I have done the update, I seem to have lost Internet Radio .  Home sharing now works though!

I actually solved this problem by looking at another post.  I changed the location to the US in the settings menu and the ATV updated itself showing the new menu layout as well as Internet Radio which is now working.  I have no idea why changing the location works but it did the trick.

  • Should I upgrade or wait? I purchased, but have not installed.

I purchased Lion, but have hesitated on installing it because of the problems I have heard about. Does anyone have an opinion?

To answer this, you should consider these questions...
How dependent are on your Mac?  If it has problems, does this affect your job and livelihood?  Can you afford to have to put some time into managing little problems?
If you have 4GBs of RAM or less, please read this thread - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3238726
Are there compelling reasons why you should rush to Lion?
How easy would it be to revert to Snow Leopard if things go wrong?  (Can you easily replace the system disk or restore an internal disk to its prior state?)
Do you have a good, safe backup procedure in place now in case of nasty happenings?
These questions will probably allow you to decide.
In my case, I have two Macs, an iMac used for my key, but not income-earning work, which is still on SL.  I don't want things to go wrong on this system.  And a MBP, which is now on Lion.  If it messes up, I know I can pop the Lion system disk out and put the SL system disk in.

  • ZEN V Plus: bookmarkin

I'm considering getting a ZEN V Plus but have a question req. bookmarking.
I'm listening to many + hour podcasts (usually radioshows).... can the ZEN V make bookmarks within a MP3 file or maybe remember the last location automaticly?
    /B

    Thanks for the replys guys!
I'v decided to order a ZEN V Plus as a "sidekick" to my 20GB ZEN Sleek because of the far smaller size which is more convenient when I workout or cycle
I found out that the Sleek has the same bookmarking features (doh!) which works fint.. no problem here.
Although a better implemented auto-resume would be nice - sometime the Sleek restarte tracks which is annoying if you forget to set a bookmark manually.
From I can also read orther placed the cold-boot time for the ZEn V is about the same as previous players which there is no excuse for. Creative should really look into this which affects the user experience... especially no reason for this on flash based players!!
Anyway.. I expect to post a ZEN V review soon

  • Zen V Plus under Windows 2

?Somebody bought me a new Zen V Plus, but unfortunately I'm using Windows 2000. Windows XP doesn't have enough new features to interest me and I'm concerned more about stability anyway, so I probably won't upgrade my OS for a few more years. In the meantime, I'd like to use the Zen in some way. Even if I can't load all the supporting utility software from the accompanying CD, there should be some way for me to be able to just copy files from my hard disk to the Zen's file system and play them. That in itself would be a quantum leap over having no MP3 player at all.
However, the V Plus does not look like a little hard disk to Windows, so I can't use Explorer to copy the files. As far as I have been able to learn, the V Plus uses flash memory and Media Transfer Protocol (MTP), which is supported in Windows Media Player 0 (which is only supported under Windows XP).
HOWEVER ... Microsoft recently released a Media Transfer Protocol Porting Kit -- see http://msdn.microsoft.com/windowsmed...s/default.aspx -- to add MTP support to WMP 9, the last one that worked under Windows 2000. But it's not easy to set up. After installing it and reading the Readme-Redist.txt file, you run MTP9x-2k.exe, which installs the following files:? - %windir%/System32/drivers
    ?? - wpdusb9x.sys (Windows 98SE or Windows ME)
    ???OR wpdusb.sys (Windows 2000)
    ? - %windir%/System32
    ?? - mtpiusb.dll
    ?? - mtpsmgr.exe
    ?? - mtpistb.dll
    ?? - mtpsp.dll
    ? - %windir%/Inf
?? - wpdmtp.inf? But then you have to edit a .inf file to describe the attributes of your player. This is beyond my technical ability.
Am I right to think that I can get basic MP3 player use from the V Plus just by installing the MTP Porting Kit, or do I really need to upgrade to Windows XP?<
If the Porting Kit will work, can anybody help me write a .inf file that will be correct for the V Plus?<
    Thanks for your help!

I really wish I could help you but I am in the same situation about this driver. I dont know whether to cry or eat my own mp3 player :[, cause in order to use it'sI?even bought an external har dri've to install xp and then realised is not even possible. So?I guess the solution?are:?to create a backup of your important documents and install windows xp,borrow a friends computer?or resell your mp3 player because you can not even charge it whithout the drivers intalled. But I wont give up :]Message Edited by elenka on 0-9-200703:33 PM

  • ZEN V PLUS - 4 gig - Only Holds 250 songs - Locks

I am able to transfer photos, songs, and videos. I can listen or view them with no
problem. The problem is the # of songs that I could get on the player is not right!
I have the Zen V Plus, 4 gig. I try to transfer songs to the player but it the
transfer progress always stops when there are about 250 songs transfered to the
player. The 250 songs are about 800 mb in size so that should bot be an issue since
    the player is 4 gigs.
I have tried to drag and drop, add media, and use the "Fill Up Player" with the same
    results.
Around the 250th song, the progress bar % stops moving. I press cancel and nothing
happens. I let the computer take it's time and 40 minutes went by... the bar is still
there with no new %. The problem is the player is still docked.
Since the player is docked and is still in "Transfer Mode" I have to unplug it, go
into recovery mode and "Clean Up".
When the player reboots the Re-Building Library is show with a progress bar. This
stays up and looks like the player is frozen.
I now have to reformat. All of my stuff is gone from the player.
I try to add songs and again... around 250 the progress bar sto
    ps.
I used the Zen Media Explorer and Windows Media player to transfer the songs. All
    stop around 250!
I have the new firmware installed.
    The PC I have is:
    Windows XP Media Edition
    P-4
    2 gigs of ram.
Again, I am able to upload songs, photos, and video and it plays no problem! The
problem here is I can't upload more than 250 songs. The total number of songs I want
to transfer is about 900 and is .2 gigs. The player is 4 gigs and there is a lot of
    space when I transfer.
    Thanks

Was just curious, was trying to establish whether it is a possibly DRM bug (on licensed) music or some other kind of bug with the unit. I have moved 450 songs total to my daughters Zen V Plus with out a problem, but its all ripped music from her music collection. So was thinking it might be a DRM issue of some kind. (Microsoft has released a ton of patches for DRM issues related to the transfer of music, am in the process of trying to document them all and post it later tommorrow.)?On my daughters Zen V plus I have all here music organized into folders:Artist->album->songI organized them that way on the PC before I copied them over. (MP3 Files, not WMA's)?I don't have a large enough collection of purchased music off the web to do any testing to see if it breaks when trying to transfer DRM protected music.
Could be something like a folder limit for number of files in one folder? Not sure, just trying to throw out ideas to help track down the problem, and help people get it solved.

  • Zen V Plus: Software barrier against installing US firmware on european devic

Well well... After the "display darkening devil" caught me, I just decided to buy a new player because I need this thing frequently when I'm on the road. Now I've got a Zen V Plus but there is a DIFFERENCE. "Sure, the FM Radio!" True, but there is another one. I was able to use US Firmware (the one without the 'e' at the end) on my Zen V (without PLUS) when the display was still functional. But now I get "Upgrade Failed!" error - so am I right that the PLUS version checks for EU devices and denies installation of US firmware (NB: The US version lets you make the thing a bit louder, because it does not have to comply with brain-dead EU rules system.)

I have a ZVP, and you can change firmware between US/EU/Asia versions. There is no restriction.
In order to remove the EU volume restriction, you have to delete the existing EU firmware before upgrading, otherwise the (e) does not go away. I guess it is stored in a different part of flash which is only cleared when you delete the firmware, rather than just running the upgrade executable file.
    ***WARNING***
DO NOT delete your firmware unless you can successfully update the firmware without deleting. Try it first and make sure it works BEFORE you delete the firmware. Otherwise you could end up with a ZVP shaped paperweight...
For info on how to delete firmware see the 'Recovery Mode' sticky at the top of the forum.

  • ZEN V (Plus) Track Detail View bitrate b

I have noticed, that bitrate of VBR MP3 files is shown incorrectly in ZEN V (Plus) Track details view. It looks like the bitrate shown is actually a bitrate of only FIRST MPEG frame not average of all track.
You can easily test this by looking tracks bitrate in Winamp file info and then look at the shown bitrate of the same track in your ZEN V (Plus) player.
I think it is a bit annoying bug and really hope that this bug will be corrected soon.
    What do you think?
P.S. My ZEN V Plus firmware version is .0.03eMessage Edited by Bytec on 2-05-20062:08 PM

Hold down the "Back" button. A list of options will come up. The one at the top ("View All") is what you want.
For future reference, a lot of things seem to be done by holding down that button

  • Zen Nano Plus transfering DRM licensed WMA fi

Hello, I have a new Zen Nanao Plus and have no problem transferring MP3 files to the device, I have also purchased licensed WMA albums off Tesco and can play them no problem on the PC but they will not transfer to the Zen no matter what, cut and paste, drag and drop you name it...what am I doing wrong? Could someone from Creative advise Thanks

I don't think Creative software tries to convert a DRM file--you can't anyway. I have used Nano Plus Media Explorer for all my files (use it mainly as I use the psuedo-playlist function) and it moves over WMA DRM files that play fine. I use the smartfit (or whatever they call it there-have the preferences set up to shrink everything to 64KBS WMA) in that application and it works fine, ignoring DRM files. My files are a variety from Napster, MSN, Yahoo. All work fine.
