To Define Business group in HRMS

Hi,
I am new to HRMS module.
I like to know how to create a Business group
If any one could share the "Oracle HRMS-The fundamantals" guide that would help me a lot
Regards
Ramesh Kumar S

Hi,
Follow the steps below:
1. Logon to HRMS Responsibility
2. Navigate to Work structures => Organization => Description
a. Enter a Business Group Name
b. Select the Type fi you want (But there is no significance for Org type- this is only for reporting purpose)
c. Select the Location from LOV (Location Addres willbe displayed automatically)
d. By default 'Internal' will be selected. Save the record
e. Select 'Business Group' from LOV under Organization classification region.
f. Select 'Enabled' check box. Save the record.
g. Select 'Others' and select 'Business Group Info' from LOV
h. Provide the appropriate info for business group info.
i. Select 'HR Organization' classification if you want to assign any employees for this organization. save the record.
Now assign this BG to profile values as follows:
Setting the profile to a value of 'User' as opposed to 'Payroll & User' will restrict the Inventory user from accessing any Payroll information if Oracle Payroll is installed.
· HR: Business Group = {the users Business Group name}
This points the responsibility to the appropriate Business Group. When multiple Business Groups are defined, you must associate each responsibility with one and only one Business Group. A responsibility can not see organization data from more than one Business Group.
Hope this helps you to understand.

    Hi,
Cany any one tell me what acutally is a business group in HRMS module. How to create new business group.
Kindly suggest me how to implement simple HRMS module.
    Thanks,
    Mannu

    Dear Mannu
Oracle Define the Business Group as a Complete Set of HR data for operations and processing.
By default we get one BG with ORacle Apps. If you want to have a Business Group of your own then you need to set up your own BG.
Go through the Implementation Guide of any Legislation for more details and clear steps of implementing HRMS.

  • Deleting Business group

    Good Evening everybody
I faced the following problem today .
i defined a organization with a business group calssifaication and i filled the information wrongly,
i deleted this organization and the system didn't stop me , and then i defined another organization with a business broup and i filled it correctly .
the old organization is not appearing in the organization window , although it still exists in the database by querying the table  PER_BUSINESS_GROUPS
so i have 2 business groups one of them is unwanted.
what should i do to delete it ????!

    Dear Vignesh
in the old business group i filled Business Group Information as the legislation code : Saudi Arabia , and the currency : SAR
and because of previous problem i couldn't define the new business group as a Saudi Arabia Business group , so i put it as United States Legislation with USD Currency .
should i have to end-date the new one also and define business group legislation as Saudi Arabia and the currency SAR?
    thank you !

  • HRMS APP-PER-52803:Your business group does not match your security profile

I see this as a common problem, please guide me as to what should be done to rectify it.
While opening \Payroll\Description, it gives message as under:
HRMS APP-PER-52803:Your business group does not match your security profile
    Regards
    Nemo

    Hi,
I feel that "HR: Security Profile" option is not set properly, BZ of that screen is errors out.
Please check the following Profile Options
HR: Security Profile -- Enter the sec profile name which is business Group name
HR: Business Group -- Your Business Group Name
Note: If you set the HR: Security Profile optional first, then system will sets the HR: Business Group profile option too automatically.
I hope this will solves your problem.

  • Define a new business group

My company has been divided into two so i would like to define a new business group for the sister company.
My question is in what ways will the defining of the new business group affect the creating of the new payroll and elements for the sister company.
Is it possible to use the same elements that were defined for the company initially or is it that i will have to define all the elements all over again for the sister company?
The reason why i am asking is because there will be no change in the allowance and/or deductions that will be performed on the emps that are in sister company and the actual company.
    all comments are highly appreciated!

    Hi,
Is your business already decided that you should go for a new BG for your sister company??
If you are planning to go for a new BG, then you have to do setup/implementation for your sister company from scratch.. You have to define all the elements all over again for the sister company.. It's to be treated as a different entity now as it is detached from Parent..and this is required for better reporting purpose..
Since you informed that your sister company is going to follow the same set of rules /approach like parent company, then why don't you keep both business in same umbrella ..I mean BG..
In this case your sister company implementation is going to be treated as a rollout or an extension to parent...
Now choice is yours to decide where you want to stand.. :)
It's indeed a nice question, please wait for few more suggestions from other Business Gurus.. :)

GRE/Legal Entity is required for :
From Functional Point : Legal requirements/ Tax etc
From technical Point : Used to get soft coding keyflex id used in assignment. Mandatory if no value give all segments as blank and generate a new coft coding keyflex id.
    HR Organization :
Functional point : Used to Identify a Organization as HR organization. Unless you do so you cannot assign indivisuals to this org basically if you have employees working for this organization then it shoud be HR Organization.

    Operating Unit :

  • How to setup Business Group with Global Legislation?

    Hi All,
We are exploring possibility of creating International Business Group with no Legislation Code for our client. The client has operations in multiple geographies.
I found following document in Metalink
How an International Business Group be created with no Legislation Code? [Doc ID 851711.1] It mentions "Global legislation must be installed in order to set up a Global Business Group. The business group is created just like any other, but with Global legislation selected. You will need to use Global responsibilities to access it."
When we tried to create a business group with Legislation Code as 'Global" we did not find any such Legislation Code in dropdown of *Business Group Info classification.
Has anybody implemented Global Legislation before? Any information on Setup Steps, Challenges faced, bugs and issues faced with other modules especially OTL would be appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Amit

I wasn't aware there's any such thing as 'Global Legislation' in HRMS and I think the Metalink Note you mention is misleading. There are multiple concepts here being mixed up.
    hrglobal and Data Installer
Oracle deliver legislative seed data through hrglobal and Data Installer. When a DBA runs this they pick the legislations they wish to install. That includes legislations such as US, GB and all legislations where Oracle HRMS deliver seed data (Fast Formulas, balances, etc). One of the options here is 'Global', which ensures that common seed data used across multiple legislations is installed. This process does not create new legislations - it just creates the seed data used by those legislations. 'Global' is not a legislation - it just means that the relevant seed data (Fast Formula, balances, etc) is typically delivered without the legislation_code column being populated.
    Business Groups and Legislations
A Business Group is intrinsically tied to a Legislation Code - they have a one-to-one relationship. When you define a Business Group you have to pick a Legislation and that list of Legislations comes from fnd_territories_vl. The list in fnd_territories_vl has nothing to do with hrglobal or Data Installer. There is no 'global' territory.
    International HR & Payroll
If you are implementing HRMS in a country where Oracle HRMS do not deliver any specific legislative seed data or functionality (ie, the legislation isn't listed in Data Installer) you have the option of using International HR & Payroll. This allows you to install generic seed data into the legislation of your choice, which is again a list from fnd_territories_vl. Again, there's no concept of 'global' legislation. Information on that is available here:
International HR and Payroll [ID 261452.1]
    International Implementations
Customers, like yours, who are rolling out Oracle HRMS to multiple countries have a big choice to make: single or multi Business Group. If you opt for one Business Group you create employees in multiple countries all within the same Business Group. That Business Group is tied to just one of those country's legislation codes - which you go for is up to you but that's generally the Legislation Code of the International HQ. The problem with this approach is that you can't leverage the legislative-specific functionality for each of the other countries.
If you opt for multi-Business Group you typically define one Business Group for each country so that you leverage the legislative-specific functionality for each country. This is generally more popular but doesn't suit everyone: you can have problems with employees transferring from one country to another, etc.
    Global Structures
Oracle HRMS has forced you to tie a Business Group to a legislation code for many years. As mentioned above, this causes a number of problems. To mitigate those, Oracle have delivered a number of enhancements that help you model global businesses:
    1. Global Organization Hierarchies
    2. Global Security Profiles
    3. Global Overseas Deployment functionality (nickname GOD/GOLD)
    4. Cross Business Group profile option
    5. etc
    I hope that helps.

  • URGENT - New business group

I created a new BG, and LE,SOB ETC...., but my operating unit is still under old BG.
CAN anyone help me out , how to c new BG

    Hi,
Once you define the Business Group, you have to assign the Business Group to system profile values.
    Profile values are:
    1. HR: Business Group
    2. HR: Security Profile
Then come back to HRMS responsibility and define the Operating unit. Now you can see your Operating Unit under your BG.
Please go through the 'Multi-Org Structure' document to get the clear idea about it.

  • Individual Business Groups

We have existing financials running with a Business Group (not the set up BG).
Now we are implementing HR & Payroll. I know we should use the same business group.
But is it something worng, if we define a separate new BG for HRMS implementation (Though we have sparate BG for Finacials & HRMS, the SOB is one & the same). What kind of impacts will it have considering the transfer to GL, approval process in Financials, etc.
    Thanks.

First thing for one legislation it is advisable to use one BG
Please let us know why you are planning to create the Separate Business Group and is there any specific business Reason for that..
If you define a separate business group then all your transaction will reside in this New Business group only. You cannot use the employees in the new BG for any PO approvals or other transaction in a Different BG
Yes you can see the employees across BG by enable cross Business Group
Also Oracle recommends to have one BG per legislation
    Thanks

  • Same Org as Business Group and Operating Unit cannot be migrated via isetup

    Hi,
I have tried to migrate the setup of an organization which is classified as both Business group and Operating unit.
When it comes to Operating unit API, it errors out with the following Warning message.
I request the iSetup Team to clarify whether there is any restriction in iSetup that the same org as BG and OU cannot be transferred.
If yes, then how to migrate the same...
The above situation happens for the org classified as OU and IO. In this case the INV org API give the warning message.

  • How to create a new business group in production instance?

    Hi All
How can I create a new Business Group in Oracle Apps in a production Instance where there wont be any HRMS responsibility. Do I need to create a new Business Group through Inventory responsibility ? Any documents about this issue?
    Thanks and Regards
    M.A.Rahman

why do you need to create a new business group? To implement HR? If so, linking a HR responsibility to your user, is one of the few steps to go anyway.
How you did it on the test environment?
Why not link a hr resp to your user temporarily, and disable it later.
I'm always afraid to answer this kind of questions, since the real requirement is not described.

  • Renaming of Business Group, Legal Entity, Ledger & Inv Org

    Dear All,
We are using Oracle EBS R-12 and would like to rename the followings as our company name has been changed.
    * Business Group
    * Legal entity
    * Ledger
    * Operating Unit
    * Inventory Organization
We just want to know that is there any issue after change the name of above?
    Regards,
    Abdul Hafeez

    Hi
For the Business Group, Operating unit & Inventory Org. You can rename the organizations name no problem from the define organizations form query for the organization you want to rename, rename it and save.
For the ledger you can update your ledger name no problem. GO to accounting setup manager find you ledger update accounting setup> update journal processing> rename your ledger> Finish.
For the legal entity GO to accounting setup manager> Legal Entity (T)> Find your legal entity> View details> Update> Rename your Legal Entity name. Do the same for the legal establishment.

  • R12 Existing Business Group with Global HR

    Hi All,
I need your help in following:
We currently have Two Business Group: 1) US 2) ASIA & both of them have one GRE
We wanted add more GRE into ASIA business group with Ledger. First part is only for HRMS and may be in future we can make use of other modules.
Underneath ASIA we want GREs like : 1) Korea 2)Japan 3) China and also Ledger for these GREs.
I have seen like Adding Secondary Subledger to existing Primary Ledger but there option like Journal,Subledger.
So question would be what option should/could we use for future use if we add seconday subledger to existing primary ledger.
Can we any way do this if we want to use any modules like AR/AP etc. using seconday subledger.
    Thanks in advance
    Prashant Pathak

You can have any number of Secondary Ledger attached to the primary. However the options like Journal,Subledger etc will decide how your subledger transactions will be represented in your Primary and Secondary Ledgers. For example, if you choose the option to be Journal, and you have a different Subledger Accounting Method for your primary and secondary, a single transaction in AP will have 2 representations, one each for your primary and secondary.
You can do this for the subledger modules like AP/AR etc.
    Hope it helps.

  • Multiple Cost Allocation Structures in Single Business Group

We are curently looking at solution design of creating multiple Cost
allocation flexfield in single business group environment.
    Purpose :
Based on organization structure (18 companies) , the finance
consultants proposed multiple COA structures with different
valuesets , wherein values sets will be specific to the companies .
This was suggested inorder to aviod tedious job of defining
    validations and post production support.
This has impact on payroll solution design wrt to cost allocation FF ,
where in we have to define multiple structures to map to Accounting
    FFs.
Woudl like to check if oracle payroll supports this kind of setups.
Note :The implementation is for UAE localization.
    Rgds/Lavanya

If Finance System has multiple COA structures with different valuesets , wherein values sets will be specific to the companies then they will seperating cosing on Various OU Level.
As my understanding, you have to create multiple Business Group as per multiple COA structures .
    Thanks
