Transport between 2 ESRs

Hi,
I have the following problem:
We have a CE 7.1 System running on one computer.
We have modeled and activated some components with the ES Builder.
Now we installed CE 7.1 EhP on another computer and we want to transport our modeled things on the new system.
We tried to do this via the Tools-> Import/Export Design Objects possibility of ES Builder.
Everything gets imported. The problem now is:
1. How can we make the newly imported contents editable without editing the Metadata.properties file in the .tpz file.
2. After editing our models, we can not save  them due to the following error:
Save operation is not possible. Internal error: couldn't find the branch for version with id=098dfslkdjfsdjlds (I have posted a fiction id).
Does anyone know how to deal with this problem or can provide some furthure information.
Until now, I have found only this information:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwesrce/helpdata/en/a8/5e56006c17e748a68bb3843ed5aab8/content.htm
Does a standard way exists to transport from ESR to ESR directly...
Many thanks in advance!
Best regards,
v s

Hi,
thanks for the reply.
I tried this in the following way:
1.export component from old sld, import to new sld.
2. Export design object from old esr, import to new (tpz)
Now, I have the problem that I can't see any model in my new ES Builder and I get the following exception after trying to execute any operation:
com.idsscheer.aris.cltech.common.core.ariscommon.ServerException
and then
com.idsscheer.aris.cltech.common.core.ariscommon.ServerException: null
Am I doing something wrong?
best regards,

  • Transport between different releases

    Hi,
Is it possible to have transports between two server with different releases,
one is on 701 and other is on 700,
    pls advise.
    Thanks

    Hello Irfan,
Transport of customizing between diffeent releases is NOT supported. Also generated objects, which were generated by customizing, should NOT be transported between different releases.
SAP objects may NOT be transported between different releases (e.g. a table in an old release could have less fields than in the newer release and thus such a transport might delete data or if an abap calls a function module and in new release have one parameter more, then you get syntax errors if you transport only one of them from a system with the old release, ...).
So data loss and severe inconsistencies can happen if you transport SAP objects between different releases, or between systems with same release but different support package level or between systems with different addons or different add-on versions etc.
For pure customer objects (e.g. Z-tables, Z-programs, Y-tables, y-programs or objects in customer name space) it might be ok to transport them. But if e.g. your Z-table uses an SAP data element which has maybe been changed in the new release or does maybe no more exist, you can also get problems during transport of your z-table.
Data loss and severe inconsistencies can happen if you transport SAP objects between  different releases, or between systems with same release but different support package level or between systems with different addons or different add-on versions etc.
    Please check the following:

  • Transports between 2 different versions of SAP

We are developing a product on ECC 6.0 (IDES) system and I'm trying to figure out how we can delivery the product to our customers.  We have our own development namespace in SAP.  Some of our customers are on ECC 6.0 and some are still on 4.7.  Can we send a transport that was created in ECC 6.0 to a 4.7 system?
    Thank you,

    Hi,
It is possible to transport between 2 different versions but it is dangerous : you have to know exactly what you are transporting and the dependencies with standard SAP code.
So, it is much safer to recreate your source code in a developement system of the new version and create new transport orders from there...

  • Transports between systems after support package application

Hi gurus, we need to apply a lot of support packages into the development system and I wanna know if in the meantime we need to "freeze" all transports between systems.
This because the systems (DEV - QA - PRD) are in differente support package level. This until we apply the support packages into the others systems
    Thanks in advance.
    Ronald.

Yes, any transport which is taking SAP standard code from DEV to QA to PRD should not move if the systems in landscape are on different support pack level. Because it can happen that SAP has done some modification to that standard code in new support pack.
However, anything which is isolated Z-development (like some z-output report or smartforms) can proceed.
But, I suggest , stop moving transports until all systems have same support pack level.

  • Automation of transports between DVL and QAS environments

    Hi,
Does anyone know how to automate the transports between the DVL and QAS environment ? When we release a transport in the DVL environment, we would like this transport to be copied in the QAS environement automatically, without having to copy it manually from DVL to QAS.
    Thanks,
    Julien

    Hi
if this is generally about transporting PI content through the landscape then your solution is very likely to use CTS as transport system for PI. Further information can be found on https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/SL/SoftwareChangeManagement
Especially the section 'What is CTS' and 'SAP NetWeaver Exchange Infrastructure (XI / PI)' will be interesting.
If you are already using CTS and the question is if and how the automation can be configured then the answer is: yes, it can and it has to be done in the same way as for ordinary ABAP transport - even for PI content - via a scheduling.

  • Portal content transport between the systems

    Hello,
I am trying to understand the methodology of how the Enterprise portal or any Java systems transport the objects between the landscape like Dev to QA and Prod.
How is the common shared directory / trans - designed and used in Java systems.
Please throw some lights on how this can be implemented..
    Thanks,

    Hi Addy,
I assume you are referring to transporting PCD objects like iViews, Pages and Roles across different environments?
This link might be helpful for your scenario: [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/c5/56599164d0c04cb566ba0e2d7ed55c/frameset.htm]
The "Configuring Transport" section explains the different transport parameter in the Portal, including setting import/export folder across environments.
You can also use CTS to transport portal objects, but CTS is more of an add-on to the standard portal tools.
    Hope this helps!

  • Transports between Sneak Preview systems

I have installed ABAP Sneak Preview SP12 in two machines. Now i'd like to set up a transport path between them, so i can for example create programs in one of them and get them in the other (a laptop I can take with me).
Since i'm no BASIS guy (i'm an ABAP developer) I don't know how this task gets done,
or even if it can get done with the sneak previews...
Besides, i'm getting "Global information cannot be read" (PU823) error message in SE10 in both systems just by going to SE10 transaction.
    Has anyone tried it?
Please post if you did and how.
    Many thanks

Please people, nobody did this? I do not necessarily need to create a transport scheme but to have an easy way to pass developments back and forth both machines. I've found <a href="http://wiki.ittoolbox.com/index.php/Upload/download_SAP_transport_request">this utilities</a> which supposedly would allow to save any transportable order to a file and upload from that file, both activate but i'm not getting them to actually work, because the order file is not found.
I've also read about SAPLink project, would that allow me to do this?
    Please, any help is welcome.
    Thanks
Moderators: Please, move this thread over to the <i>NetWeaver AS, General forum</i> as it seems this one only deals with installation issues. I thought this was the only one for the Sneak preview related issues.
    Thanks

  • Integration between ESR and ARIS

    Hi,
is there a integration between the standalone versions of ARIS and ESR?
    Best Regards,

    Hi,
As far as I know, currently there is no integration/synchronization between ARIS and the ESR. For example, I have to model our BOs according to the models in ARIS.

  • TMS configuration - Transports between clients

    Hi Experts,
I have an ECC system on which I would like to configure 3 clients.  Client 400 for DEV, client 500 for QA, and client 600 for PRD.
I would like to configure TMS so that I will be able to transport directly from 400 to 500 and from 500 to 600.
Could anyone tell me if this is possible and (if so) how it should be done?  Could you take me through the process?
    Many thanks,

    u2022     Improved import controls
If you work with extended transport control, you can import requests into different clients in a system without using  unconditional modes.
When you first import a request into a system, all the objects are imported completely. Any subsequent imports into other clients in the system only import client-specific components.
This makes it possible to set up consolidation routes and delivery routes between different clients in the same system.

  • Auto transport between DEV & QTY

    HI,
I need to configure the Auto transport scenario between DEV & QTY in a three system landscape..
The DEV has two clients such as Customization & Development ..Whatever we release in the customization client it should get imported in the QTY automatically..Please help me out to attain this scenario with your procedure.
    I would appreciate your help
    Thanks in advance

    Hello
    It is easy.
Please consider the following, you customizing need to be part of "development class" / package.
Package is then part of transport layer.
If transport request is release then it will be added to import queue of QTY system.
At QTY you just need to set up STMS transport job, it is done through the stms queue of system QTY, import ALL "big car" and after choose periodic.

  • Generate transport between systems

    Hello experts:
I need to transport a report from one system to another, how can I do this?
And there are several transport request, is necessary to transport all of them or just the last?
Thank you in advance for your help.
    Best regards,
    Miriam

    Hi Miriam ,
I hope there is no transport path defined between the devlopment servers you are talking about. These are two different systems which have no connection in between.
In this case you need to get the data and co files from the sap trans directory and move the objects into the new development server manually.
You need to add the paste the K and R objects into the data and co file folders.
Then in smtp_import you need to manually add the request ( there is a option of adding the request manually ) and then you need to transport it.
It will get ur report from any other system into a entirely new system.
Hope this solves ur question !!

  • Billing issue in case of stock transport between different company codes

    Hi all,
In my project there are 2 different company codes - C001 & C002.
    C001 has plant K101 & C002 has plant K201.
I am trying for the cross company code stock transfer. The plant K201 issues a stock transport order to plant K101. Now I created a delivery using transaction code VL10G & the system created a delivery successfully.
I did the picking & PGI using transaction code VL02N successfully.
Now I am trying to create a billing document in VF01 taking the reference of the delivery number created above but the system issues an error log stating

    HI ,
you just check the Billing type which is assigned for that Delivery type and also check what type of billing document it is i.e., in T.code VOFA
1)Check SD document category ,whether it is invoice or Proforma invoice,
    2)check copy controls

In customizing of MM-PUR Assign Delivery Type and Checking Rule   the document type of the STO is assigned to the delivery document type.
Check if you assigned NLCC or just NL.
NLCC is for cross company while NL is for transfers within one company code.

  • Transporting Between two Business Connector 4.7

    Hi,
This Question is related to Business Connector 4.7 Sorry I don't know where to post so I am doing it here.
we have two Business COnnectors one is for Dev and Prod, actually Dev is the new one we added recently, now we want developers to develop on Dev, my question is how can we move that from Dev to Prod.
Any input or document will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Chander

    Hi Chander,
I think all you need to do is the following.
    1) Logon to the new development bussiness connector server via the administrative UI
    2) From the admin screen on the left tab click under Packages -> Publishing
    3) You will be taken to a screen the has available releases ...click on Add Subscribers
    4) you window should have the following path Packages>Publishing>Add Subscriber
    5) Choose a package. enter the following:
Host Name: ( your production bus. connector server ip
Host Port : ( your production bus. conn. server port ( default = 5555 )
        Transport : HTTP
Remote user name: (your production bus conn user name )
remote pw:              ( your production bus conn pw )
    6) Click on add subscriber ( provided you have entered the correct un/pw and have acces to the server..you will get message that server is now subscriber to package
    7) Click on return to publishing ( path should read Packages>publishing
    8) Click on create release
    9) under the package you set as a subscriber to production click on create release
    10) enter package release information - click on create release at bottom of screen
    11) return to publishing - path should read Packages>Publishing
    12) you should now have a link send release to the right of your package
    13) click on send release - from next screen click on your subscriber (production bus conn ).
    thats it...

  • Transport between BI 32bit OS and BI 64bit OS

We are in the process of migrating our current 32bit BI 7.0 to 64bit .
While migrating it will happen that our ie. Dev will be migrated to 64bit , but we may have development that we need to migrate to Prdn thru QAS that will both be @ 32bit OS.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks
    Maria

Ok, yes, in SQL going from 32 to 64 can be done also using detach/attach procedure as per note 666805 but it is just a matter of taste.
I don´t think you will face any problem at all in mixed environments using SQL server, Oracle is more complex and don´t have any problem (my personal experience). Remember that comunications won´t have nothing to do with 32 or 64 bits, also transports are import procedures so if you do move SQL doing export/import procedure, a transport for sure won´t have any problem either.
Just keep all systems at the same SP level, kernel will be different but if you keep tp and R3trans at similar levels you won´t have problems
    Good luck
