TS3999 Calendar on MacBook Air sync issues.

I have Calander synced to iCloud on both my MacBook Air and iPhone.  When I enter an event on my MacBook Air, connect to the internet and it syncs with iCloud, it changes the event time back to 9am.  It only occurs on the MacBook Air, when entered on the iPhone it doesn't change the time.  Taken it in to Apple Geniuses.... not so Genius as they were unable to fix the problem.
Have already deleted my iCloud account on the MacBook Air and reinstalled everything and this didn't solve the problem.  Anyone have any ideas?

In Calendar on your MacBook Air, click File > Preferences, then click the "Accounts" tab on top.  Make sure you are using iCloud.
If you are, go to System Preferences > iCloud and make sure you are using the same Apple ID as your iPhone and iPad.

I'm an applications developer and also run a part-time videography business. As such, I require more than 3.12GB of RAM. That is the physical limitation of a 32bit system. Pointless to stay on 32bit if you plan on having more than that much RAM.
I'm also not about to pay someone to fix my PC when I can do it myself. I was originally hoping for someone who had experienced the problem before to point me in the right direction so I didn't have to spend so much time trying to figure out what the issue was for myself.
Basically, in the end the problem was caused because right at the point in time when I chose to uninstall, and reinstall; Apple released a new version of iTunes. This version in turn had a requirement of iOS 4.2 to sync with the iPhone. This is a pretty embarrassing for Apple that they would release software reliant on other software before said software was released.
Had I realised I was downloading a newer version at the initial point of installation, this wouldn't have been an issue. I could've easily have rolled back iTunes to the previous version and gotten on with my life.
Another issue is that iTunes is not actually a 64 bit application. It masquerades as one to allow installation on the 64 bit platform.

  • Is there a way to have MSOffice-Mac on my MacBook Air sync wirelessly (and non-manually) with iWork on my iPhone without a third-party app?

I purchased a MacBook Air after hearing that it can sync wirelessly with all iOS devices. I then purchased the iWork office for my college courses and found out that the school requires online students like me to use Microsoft Office for Mac. An Apple phone rep explained that this software syncs in read-only mode with the iPhone. Is there really no way - besides third party software like Dropbox, Windows Live SkyDrive, or Docs To Go - for me to sync my homework between iWork on my iPhone and MS Office my new MacBook?

Go through this article: How to back up your data and set up as a new device or do this:
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your phone to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your phone without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your phone for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the phone for the first time.

  • Problems with Yahoo Mail and Calendar on MacBook air.  Very slow performance.  Any ideas?

I have a macbook air running Apple's latest OS. My system is up-to-date.  Over the last few weeks, I have had a very difficult time accessing my yahoo mail and calendar.  I can access other sites, thus I know my connection is solid.  The problem seems to be limited to Yahoo.  I can access my yahoo account on my husband's PC without any issues.  To be specific, here are the symptoms of my problem.  When I try to open my yahoo mail on the Mac, I get the spinning wheel for several minutes.  I view my yahoo calendar through ical.  Yahoo is not connecting with ical, thus my calendar is empty.  I verified my settings and they are correct.  Also, sometimes after trying and retrying the calendar will connect.  I checked the web and did not find any info about this problem.  I appreciate your assistance.

I have been having the same issue. I can't figure it out. I have tried setting this up my yahoo calendar on my phone and my computer and my iPhone with no luck. It's definitely a Yahoo Problem. At this point I have become enemy to Yahoo Calendar.

  • Mail on Macbook Air syncing too many emails!

I have just bought a Macbook Air and wanted to Sync my Hotmail Emails like I do on Iphone and Ipad. Problem is that it is syncing 20,000 mail messages from the last 10 years. I only need it to sync about the last two weeks or last 50 emails or something like I do on Ipad and Iphone.
I don't want to delete old messages on server because they are old work from university and writing Idid when I was younger for various projects, also messages from friends that I want to be able to look back on when I'm older. I also don't want them on my Macbook becasue they will clog it up and I like to keep things tidy, only things in my inbox which are releant to work and play today.
I can't find any option to regulate the inbox sync, only the trash and delete folders.

Hi, I'm sorry. I don't have an answer. Is there an Apple Store near you? The Genius Bar may be able to help. I hope you find a resolution. Seems like a very frustrating issue.  Good luck.

  • IPhone 4 / MacBook Air Syncing Problem

Hi, For the last week every time I sync my MacBook Air with my iPhone 4, I get the following message
"Syncing will change more than 25% of your calendars, events, or to dos on this computer."
    It's suggesting I delete 1080 entries and modify 43.
I've never had any problem syncing before.
Any help much appreciated - I live 4 hours drive from a Genius Bar and feel ripped off having to pay for over the phone service.

This is the post I was talking about :
You may find that this is because you have not activated iCloud. Apple has decided for some reason to reward its lucky customers by preventing a sync between their iPhones and Mac computers by cable or local wi-fi. You MUST use iCloud. Lucky you. On the bright side, you have 5 free GB to play with, enough for a few files and doo-dads to be backed up. If you want to back up anything more, check prices and start getting used to paying monthly.
    Thanks again for your help.

  • Problems w new MacBook Air syncing itunes w iPhone??

I have a brand new MBAir and trying to sync some new music that was not bought on iTunes.  (Bought on gumroad.com)   Not sure if this is causing my issue.
The song downloaded fine to my computer straight into iTunes.  It plays perfectly well on computer, but will not sync to my iPhone.
    Why is this happening??!!!
Also, not sure if this is related, but I also keep getting the below message- even though I have authorized the new computer!
"This computer is no longer authorized to play purchaed items that are on the iPhone "my iPhone".
Would you like to authorize the computer for items purchased from the iTunes store?"
Help!  I've authorized the MBAir repeatedly, but the same message keeps coming up.
Thanks to anyone who can help!

  • 2013 Macbook Air Sound Issues

Alright so I've had my 2013, 13" i7 8GB/512GB Macbook Air for around 2 months. A while back I began encountering issues where the system's sound would just stop working. This issue applies to outputting through headphones and the built in speaker. I pinpointed the problem to occuring only when I closed the laptop while a program was outputting audio through headphones. Examples of programs this has happened with include Spotify, iTunes, and anything that uses audion in Safari (including Netflix and Youtube). After ths occurs, the only way I have found to fix the problem is a complete restart. I am interested to find other people who have, or who have fixed this problem.
On an unrelated note, I have also found a bug where sometimes when I accidently press the power button once and put it to sleep, the computer will sleep but the backlight on the keyboard will stay on. When I press the spacebar to turn it back on, the backlight on the screen will turn on, but the screen will remain black and unchanging. Again, the only thing that will fix this is a forced restart.
Any help that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Do not sleep your Air (close the monitor with headphones attached) with headphones attached, this is known to affect some Air under Mavericks.
    * this occurrence is being looked into.
Much testing on my own and others as well show that in some instances this occurs in Mavericks.
If you choose you may contact Apple for an appt and diagnostics.
However as said, refrain from having phones attached when you close the monitor to prevent this until it is resolved
Also if you have the APP "BOOM" installed, uninstall it, this can cause same as Ive confirmed.

  • Macbook Air wifi issue

I have a problem with my macbook air. I can find easily my home network, and it usually works ok at the begining, but after some time, 5-10 minutes, it started to works very slow, or just stop responding at all. Than I cant open any page, cant download mail, or anything. Sometime if I move my macbook air to another location it starts to work again for some time, but sometimes that doesn't help either. Sometime it helps to turn wifi off, than on again, but that also works for some time, and than again it blocks. I had mac os x lion, and now I have mountain lion, and same problem occurs. I even reinstall mountain lion, because I thought maybe it's the software issue, but it happening again. Today I changed my router, because before I had one with only B\G, and now I took one with N standard, because I thought this happening because of old router, but it happened today again.
Could this be a hardware issue? Should I bring it to apple store, and what can I expect? Would they give me another one if this is hardware issue, or I would get refurbished one, or they will try to repair this one? I don't know what to do.

With the help of Apple Support this problem seems to be cured.
Here is a summary of the steps that they took me through:-
    In Settings>Network>
Click on Gear Wheel beside +- at bottom of list of network services, select "Set Service Order" and check that WiFi is at the top of the list.
Click on Advanced and select DNS tab. Click on + at bottom of DNS Servers List and enter 8.8.8.8
In WiFi tab check that your preferred network is at the top of the list.
Apply any changes that have been made and switch off.
    Reset SMC and NVRAM/PRAM
Check that there are no channel conflicts with other wifi networks.

  • MacBook Air WiFi issues

Ok, I recently got a MacBook Air 2013 that it currently OS X version 10.8.3 and it's great except for its absolutely attrocious WiFi problems. For example, after awakening from sleep, the MacBook almost always requires my password for my network even though I have the "remember this network" box checked. More than often, when I enter the password for my network, it will keep saying invalid password, even though I know the password is correct. The only way for me to fix this is to shut down the MBA and reboot it. Simply restarting doesn't fix this password issue.
Sometimes when my WiFi is working, the pages on all my browsers won't even load and the "webpage not found" oage shows up. And so I turn WiFi off then on and the problems I stated above reoccur. Is this an OS X problem or the MBA itself? This is absolutely ridiculous and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    J_BB,
Check which model wireless router you're using (Netgear, Linksys, Motorola). The device type (WRT-54, etc) will be on the side or back.
Google your device model & type to determine its LAN gateway IP; most use 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1
Enter this address in your browser's URL window to access your device's main settings page. If prompted for a username and password, you can find the defaults by googling. You should personalize these after you are done making changes for security purposes.
The default username and password should be on the same page you searched that brought up your model & type. If not, there are pages devoted to collating such information (google is your friend).
For most devices, your SSID (Service Set ID), or the wireless network name which is broadcast, will be the name of the router. Check out these links for a commonly used device (Linksys WRT-54G) - you can click through items as though you are making actual changes:
    http://www.supportshots.com/linksys_wrt54g/basic.php
The option to change channels is under the 'Wireless' heading
    Save settings when you're finished.
    Good Luck!

  • Lion Macbook Air installation Issues - Won't Install

I sucessfully installed Lion on my iMac, then I downloaded it with my same user id from my macbook air (1.4ghz). I proceed with the installation, it claims to finish and then reboots. The Lion App store icon then sits on my dock and the computer is still running Snow Leopard at least it seems to be. However, when I go to about this mac it says 10.7.
This is a mistake since the machine is still physically running snow leopard, there is no mission control, no air drop, etc, AND the lion icon is still in my dock waiting to install!
I have repeated this process countless times and keep getting the same results.
    Please help!

did you mean to say 'this problem has been SOLVED' ?
i'm having the same issue.... and always presumed the downloaded lion install was fine since it does image checking, etc.
either way.... i'll be giving it another download and try again

  • TS4552 Macbook Air Camera issues with Skype / Hangouts / Gotomeeting not recognizing built-in camera after OS X 10.8.5

    Hi,
Unfortunately the given answer in the support page http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4552s is lame and unacceptable for us as new macbook air users.
Not only Skype does not recognize the camera. Google hangouts or gotomeeting applications don´t identify the built-in camera either.
We bought this machine to be always connected to our friends, family and co-workers, and the fact of not being able to take advantage to the most common video-calling apps is just dissapointing.
As a brand new mac user, I havent had the chance to back up the previous version of my system, and my mac distributor/seller doesnt accept any return/change because hardware is running fine with FaceTime...
Skype or Google say its an Apple issue... and Apple says its Microsoft or Google. Meanwhile we are having a lame experience as brand new mac users, and Apple should pay attention of that.
We hope Apple understands it needs to be fixed right away. We wait nothing but the best from Apple, so I really look forward to listen a prompt solution of this
    Thanks!

Salopala86 wrote:... Apple pay attention to this bugs ...
You can send your comments and suggestions directly to Apple via Apple MacBook Air Feedback.  You will not likely get a direct answer, but you can be confident that the relevant Apple people will see your input for consideration in future updates and product offerings.
You can offer feedback for Apple products other than your MBA via the Apple Feedback page.

  • New Macbook Air - display issues after waking from sleep

I have a 1 day old Macbook Air 13" (2013) --- when I wake the machine from sleep, the display shows horizontal / vertical bands for a couple of seconds before clearing up to show the desktop. Please see attached picture. This doesn't happen 100% of the time but I've been able to repeatedly replicate this at intervals. Does this seem like a hardware problem or an OS related issue? Thanks.

    SMC reset
    Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.
Since you just bought it, contact Apple about making an exchange within 14 days or repair after 2 week period.
