TS4088 Support won't help

Hi...
I have a MacBook Pro bought mid 2010. The last 2 years I haven't been able to use my external graphic card at all, and further more, every time my external graphic card was initiatet from a program ex. Chrome, my computer just restartet with the error screen on boot up.
I have tried everything
Clean installations from OSX version 10.4 to 10.8.2 without any other programs installed
Changed harddisk with new installations
Testet with all diagnostics available
Installet GFXcard to choose which graphic card to use
Nothing of the above had been any help at all... sometimes the error doesn't appear right away, but it always come back after a few days.
Late last year i found an article on Apple http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4088 mentioning my specific error, and som solutions that might help.. I tried installing the upgrades mentioned in the article, but it did not help.
Regarding to the article, I sent my MacBook Pro into service in Denmark, where I live and bought the computer, after I had talked to apple support, and they told me, that my machine of course was covered.
Now I they tell me, from the technical support, that I have to pay $950 for replacement of my logicboard... regardless of what Apple descripes in their article.. they argument, that they can't reproduce the error on their diagnostic tools.. disregarding my machine can't even boot, without shutting down right after logging in to the system...
First the try to charge me $950 for a new logicboard to fix my machine, after I showed them the article, they now say, it's a software error, and must come from one of my installed programs ??? even though I have told them, that it have the same error on clean installations without any additional software installed...
I feel a bit screewed, first saying it's the logicboard, and want my money, the saying it's software afterwoods...
What to do.. I'm really frustrated and have bought af quite expensive computer, that haven't worked the last couple of years...
How do I get in contact with someone at a higher level in command.. ??

I am also now on my way to a service center to see if my computer triggers their diagnostic software (everything on my side, testing with gfxcardstatus and so on indicates that it's the graphic card hardware at fault).

  • HP Pavilion dv7t-7000 Under Warranty and Support won't help

    I have my pavilion laptop suddenly have power outages.  Verified that the product is under warranty and submitted a case.  The helpful support responded.  Closed my case.  Then proceeded to tell me that I had to go to another site to submit.  The link led me to exactly where they just closed the case and I could see my case I just opened marked as closed.  Thanks for the help.  In an email, this very helpful support person told me to navigate to chat and their directions didn't lead me to any chat.  So I'm left with a product under warranty that HP has cleverly hidden all means of support and actually fulfilling the warranty.

    Problem description: Getting multiple eventid 41 associated with sudden shutdown of computer ("The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."). I initially thought it was disk crash so replaced the hard drives and problem continues. I checked the power supply cord which was facing a recall and that appeared fine (not covered by the recall). Seems this is under warranty and this is freezing me up from doing work.

  • Trial Version of PSE8 crashes and tech support won't help

    I have never used any adobe photo product before and I was stoked to download elements, install an action set from a favorite blog I have been dreaming about, and use it on some of my photos.  I followed the instructions on the blog without any problems and installed 1 set of actions.  When I checked that everything was working fine, I went back to install a second set the same way and the whole thing went downhill from there.
    The program crashes before loading completely.  I have looked for other suggestions to fix this and nothing has worked so far.  I have restarted the computer numerous times, restarted elements and quit all other programs while doing so, deleted the actions that I added, and deleted the mediadatabase.  Am now at my wits end.
    I thought I would just call adobe because they should be motivated to sell their product and that might make them interested in helping me fix it.  Well, that's a joke.  In a nutshell he told me that I had to have a license in order for tech support to speak with me which means I have to go and purchase it.  I am not going to invest money in something that insn't working.  He basically told me to come here and he was certain I could get some help.  I hope that he is right on that account.
    My computer is new.  Just bought it last weekend so there should not be any system problems.  I have Win7 64 bit.
    I assume that if I uninstall this trial version that I CANNOT reinstall.

    If you have never used Adobe products before, then I'd hate to break it to you but they all crash constantly. No news there, just read the reviews on Amazon.  If i can use the editor for more than 10 minutes without a crash then I am happy.  Sad really.
    They might start caring when picasa continues to steal market share, haha until then...
    I am only piping in because you can uninstall and reinstall the product.  Might try that.

  • Uploads failing regardless of configuration, support won't help, tech didn't show up...

    I'm having issues with my own network running on Business Fios out of Pittsburgh PA. I've done all the troubleshooting I can, and it seems that even when I have a laptop connected with my static IP DIRECTLY to their ONT, uploads lock up, and reset. I've tried FTP uploads to our hosted web server, and the FTP logs show that the connection was dropped and started over again, constantly. This happens with any upload, while connected locally. Verizon can't "find anything wrong" at their end.
    I spoke with support yesterday, and after being told it must be something at my end (even though I’ve bypassed all of my network by connecting the laptop to the ONT, and also tried TWO of their actiontec routers to their ONT – same situation).  I was told “This is what I do for a living” and that’s that – after asking for a supervisor he agreed to send a tech to look at the ONT today between 1 and 5.  No one ever showed up, I’m not surprised.
    Has anyone seen behavior like this?  All I can figure is a cooked ONT or a routing issue on their end, but how in the world do I convince them?  I’m about 2 seconds away from jumping ship for Comcast with static IP’s since my business relies on this being a stable connection, and right now it isn’t.  I’m doing a disservice to my own clients at the moment because I’m having so much trouble uploading files.
    Fios is by far the best technology and it’s been running great here for 3 years – but last week something changed, and it was nothing internal. 
    Any suggestions?

    Download a copy of Wireshark and do a packet capture of an FTP upload (note, this will capture the userid/password of the account you're accessing so you might want to change it first and change it back when you are done -- as well as disclose your IP source address/hosting server).   Then let's have a look see at what might be going on.  PM me if you don't want to post it for everyone to see.  Can't gaurentee a fix, but maybe we can at least figure out where things are breaking down.
    Have you by chance taken this same laptop to another location (preferably a FiOS location, but a Starbucks or other open wifi spot would be OK as well) to see if it results in similar behavior?   Given no other changes on the laptop, if a change of location doesn't change the behavior, then we're dealing with a laptop configuration (yes, I know it's on several laptops) vs a network problem.   At a minimum it will help pinpoint the problem.

  • Suspented Account, Customer Support won't help

    I am always a very easy going and peaceful person but in this situation I am really frustrated.
    To cut things short:
    All of a sudden an informal Skype account of mine went off in the middle of a chat actually. I do not keep details of this account as it is associated with a Facebook profile of mine and anyway it's not my basic account. 
    I contacted Skype Customer Support and among other things I asked why the specific account was suspended, I received no answer whatsoever on that. Instead they got me twice thru a questionnaire procedure where I answered what I could remember.
    Eventually I got an email that among other things says:
    I understand that you cannot access your account that is linked to Facebook, let me give you the information that you will need to know. 
    Upon checking on the answers, I am sorry to inform you that it did not match the answers you gave to us during your registration. We cannot verify the account and in that case we cannot assist you further.
    We apologized for the inconvenience.

    I need to know what I can do about this. It’s me all right, it’s MY account and further more no explanation was given initially. In the meantime people go on sending me messages there and continue to send friend requests, and there is nothing I can do about it! Despair is the word.  
    If Skype customer support cannot verify my word on that, can they at least delete the account so that I can create a new one? I need no explanations about Skype privacy statements regarding verification etc, as I already mentioned that it's not my basic account therefore I didn't have any records as I didn’t think that as important and after all I could not predict what has already happened!!!
    I will appreciate any help on this and not just a usual answer saying "sorry but this is how things work here". This is MY account created by ME and I did nothing to deserve that in the first place!

    I think there's not a lot of experience with subscription problems here -- most of us are existing InDesign users and the subscription model is new.
    Adobe North America is on vacation all this week. I realize support is mostly in India (InDia?) but that probably doesn't help.
    I can't imagine uninstalling and reinstalling is not allowed.
    I would download the trial version of InDesign and install that -- it's exactly the same as the regular version, and I imagine the same as the subscription version. With normal licensing, you can install the trial, wait 30 days, and then punch in a valid serial number without having to reinstall. So I imagine that subscription model is somewhat similar, but again, I can't speak with authority.
    Anyhow, have you tried the standard solutions linked from the main forum page?

    You have nearly run out of disk space.  Either purchase a larger one or start cleaning out the one you have?

  • What to do when Adobe's indifference is "destroying" your business?  Where to contact when normal Adobe support don't help?

    I have tried to get help 2 weeks using Adobe customer service. I have chatted with supervisors and normal staff “million times” and only one time I have talked with normal phone support. Phone support promised follow up the case and call me back next day between 9-10 am but nobody called. Many times chat support have swear that someone from phone support will call me back but I haven’t get any call. Every time chat support just apologize and say that we understand that you are frustrated. Every time chat support says that someone will get back to me by email / phone asap. No emails or calls as they have promised.  I have got 2 times email and emails including something which not help anything, when I contact again to the chat support they just apologize and say that someone get back to me again. But nobody get. Last 3 days they have said that I have to just wait, my case has transferred to the upper level. But same time they promised that someone from upper level will contact me urgently… they will call me and send email. No calls/no emails. Yesterday supervisor from normal chat support promised that someone will call me night time because this is only time when “upper level team” is working. But again… last night I did not get any call. Nobody sent even email.
    Now my question: What I can do if normal support don't help... case is transferred to the upper level but I don't get any feedback from there– can I call somewhere, can I email somewhere? I can’t just wait. My product is expiring next Tuesday, Adobe Creative Cloud last update deleted all files and folder from my computer and changed my storage size to be 2GB, it was before 71GB… and I can’t renew my CC subscription because on my account has some “error”, it’s not accept my credit card payments.
    I already had to cancel my yesterday meetings because did not have presentations to show, all gone. For one meeting I went without presentation and try to explain something, you know what happened.
    Next week is most important week in company history and now we try to do here all presentations from the beginning because Adobe don’t give any helps! This Adobe’s indifference might cost for us millions. Case is not easy to explain shortly but main question is… can I call somewhere? I am living in Thailand. Normal phone support / chat support not work in this case.
    Or is the only choice post all conversations in social media and let everyone know how Adobe works. Maybe people start to share my posts and Adobe starts to get very negative publicity and maybe someone will contact me then. I have unbelievable comments etc. from the customer service, if I will post it Adobe / support looks really foolish.
    Note: don’t never trust that your files are safe in Adobe Cloud. If you don’t take safe copies every minute you might be dead. Everyone who is using Illustrator and use linked file know also that most of links not work when you copy files to the other location, if your Illustrator file includes 100 pictures, maybe you have to link all again and this takes time. And if you have 100 files which all have 100 links...

    Unfortunately, not an answer... but wanted to chime in that I could have written this! Because I have had the exact same experiences over and over and over with Adobe. "Indifference" is definitely the right term. Been promised so many times that someone will call me back and no one EVER does. I've had maybe 2 very good phone support experiences out of maybe 20 awful ones. Phone tells you to go to chat... chat tells you to go to forums... and forums have never once answered my questions even when they told me they would have an expert review my post and answer it. I have so much wasted time invested with Adobe. Now, my account is cancelled due to non payment. My fault, been a rough couple of months. Well, there was no obvious place to post payment to "continue" my subscription. So I get on chat, and they send me a link to the payment portal. I enter my info and I get "Sorry, we're experiencing technical issues. Please check back soon." I tell chat this and they tell me to check back later, that all their tools are down. I asked when, and of course they don't know. Always the same. This was just tonight. 2 hours later.. still can't pay my account.
    I've written to management with direct contact info to a particular manager. Never heard a word back. I dream of the day when someone launches a design suite like adobe's or better... but also with awesome customer support.   • Neo2 that won't - Help Appreciated

    I've got a NEO2 Platinum with AMD 3500+ in an Antec Sonata (380W) case.  Machine has been working fine for the past 4+ months.  All of a sudden it won't boot past the inital post screen.  I've cleared the cmos and removed any extra components and it still hangs with the D-Bracket signaling that it's at the Init Floppy Drive Controller (#2 Red, all other Green).  The memory shows good, CPU seems OK per the displayed  bios screen.  With the only problem indicator being "Bad CMOS checksum - Defaults loaded".  It says to hit F1 to continue or Del to enter setup.
    This is a brand new system as of 12/2004.
    The system has a single WD 80 gid hard drive, 1 gig of corsair XMS ddr400, ATI Radeon 9700 Pro, Plextor 716A burner.  System has been run at nominal setting (no over-clock).
    I'm at a loss here.  What should my next step be?

    Finally got a second to sit down and play with the system...  and managed to get her working again.  Looks like the USB keyboard was part of the issue.  I luckily had an old PS2 keyboard in the closet and I plugged it in after clearing the CMOS by removing the battery.  After reboot, it hung in the same place, however, with the PS2 keyboard, I could hit the DEL key and the system jumped into the bios.
    I reset the bios to fail-safe and rebooted.  This time the system booted up normally.  I did a quick check of the system and then re-booted and updated the bios setting to something more appropriate.  Still pretty tame settings though.  A second reboot and the system came up fine.  I then plugged the USB keyboard back in and XP installed it.
    The final reboot - pulled the PS2 keyboard out and everything is back up and running.  Don't know why things got hosed...  maybe it was all the DOOM 3 that I played the night before.
    Anyway...  thanks for the thoughts and support.  Always helps to have a sounding board and folks that have some good experience to share.

  • Need speaker repair.... Creative won't help at all.

    Yeah so I have a gigaworks s700 and the center channel connector on the subwoofer is wiggly. I think it just needs soldered back on but there is no easy way to get to it without taking a whole lot of stuff apart and ripping glued pieces apart. So I'm not inclined to go digging through it when it still functions as a 4.1 system just fine. After multiple emails to creatives "Customer Support" I am still stuck. Aparently they like to tell us that the product is at the end of its service life and they totally turn their back to it which is the total opposite of customer support.
    So creative won't help and I am leaning towards never buying Creative again.. which pains me to say it. If I have to put up with this lack of support with any more of their products I will scream.
    So anyways.... if ANYBODY has an 800 number of creatives that has PEOPLE I can talk to that are preferably english speaking with minimal accents and does not charge me 2.99 to see if my cables are plugged in right, I would be grateful. Also, I am willing to PAY to have this woofer repaired by a professional if Creative has such a thing. Any info from anyone is grately appreciated. Thanks!

    Dude, get out your screwdriver, pliers and the soldering iron.
    Even if you're not handy at all, you still got a much better chance of fixing the thing than waiting for official support.

  • The headphone jack malfunction Creative won't help me w

    I have a Zen Micro 6GB with a headphone jack on life support. I've tried contacting Creative for the location of a repair depot, but since it's paid for and the warranty's finished they've quit responding. I guess I'm on my own now, and it may not be a "Creative" solution that replaces the Zen. Supposing every company abandoned their customer after the warranty ran out. Wouldn't YOU try another brand Their website offered NO "creative" solutions, or direction to where you could get an otherwise good product once they had your money and had a replacement model to sell you. Well, I'm now looking at home repair, because unless I cough up for a long distance call to someone who may or may not have a repair solution for me, this puppy goes into the drawer with the other dead battery-operated devices, the electronic graveyard.     Jonz,?I also am a newbie and I joined to look for people with your Zen Micro headset problem, so I could pass on the help I got. When you read below, you will know why Creative won't help you--Too much to admit!!!. The below web site provides guidance on how to probably fix the problem you have. I just fixed my daughters after finding this fix. When you open up your Zen, you won't believe how cheap the soldering is on both the Headset and the USB connection points. It appears to be generic the 6GB Micro. So, its not IF your Headset won't work, its just WHEN. These are not electrical connections, but rather connections that keep both Headset and USB pieces from moving on the circuit bd. There are 8 total. On my daughter's Zen, one of the four on the Headset module was just sort of laying on top of its mounting point, letting the Headset connector move a lot on the board, as if no solder was installed at all. The other 7 looked they were just glued down--waiting to come loose. Two things not mentioned in the fix.
    . When you take the metal casing out of the plastic cover, you may encounter two small cotter pins (not mentioned in the article). Instead of finding where they came from, I just reassembled the unit without them. No problem. 2. One of the Heaadset solder points (for me the one that was completely loose) is mid-on-the-board in between the?Headset and USB?connectors.
    The soldering iron adaptor I had would not?reach the point without melting all the Headset plastic and?possibly frying the Headset connection beyond repair. Had to buy a Radio Shack circuit board soldering iron?for about $8 with a narrow shaft and?long tapered point to reach the point. Fix went perfectly. Good luck.

    You might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
    You might then need to log out of your account on your phone by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then log back in so as to 'refresh' the account on it.
