Unable to hard reset N80 *#7370#

After a software update to 5.0719.0.2 have had some issues with operations. I am unable to hard restart the phone with the *#7379# code. It asks for the lock code and I tried the 1111 and nothing happens other entries it returns code error. Any suggestions?

Rather try the good old *, 3 and green phone. Hold these keys down whie the phone is off, then power it up keeping them in until the Nokia logo plays.

  • HELP! - Missing programs after hard reset - N80

    Hello,
N80 on orange with the usual problems. Spoke to Orange who tried to pass me off with the 'over the air' update. Still no joy..
They asked me to do a hard reset (*#7370#) which I have done but I am now missing
    Office program
    Catalog icon
I backed up the phone (before the reset) and also restored this but they are still missing.
    Any help would be grand
    Thanks
    Jason

No tried that one yet....the over the air thing seems a bit of fob off to me (I asked how they would do it and they said Nokia would do it as they have our imei no.s).......they are calling me back next week.....will let you guys know what the excuse is next time !

  • Iphone 4 frozen, unable to hard reset

Background:  Maybe a week or two ago my iphone froze, but I was able to fix that with a hard reset.
This past week my 'sleep'/'start' button stopped working suddenly.  Apple store was unable to do anything.  But since the only issue was turning it off, I decided not to replace it.  I have switched the time to go into lock mode from 5 min to 1 min.
    So....
Today I am using my phone, and it had been idle for 1 min so it locked, and i hit the home button to unlock it, slid the little bar, and then it froze.  I tried pressing buttons or clicking on things.  I tried plugging it into the wall.  No luck.  I tried the hard reset (holding power and home), but as I suspected, it did nothing because the power button no longer works.
Is there a way to fix this?  If I let the battery drain and then plug it back in, will that fix the problem?  It froze at 4:48pm, and it's now 5:08.  It also was at 23% when it froze.  Of course there's no way of telling how long it will take to drain the battery, right?  Because the only thing going on is the screen being backlit/bright.
So will letting the battery drain work?  How long could that possibly take?  Is there something they could do at the Apple store if I went there?
I think I have the latest operating system (updated in november when my phone crashed completely and i lost everything).  I was using the web browser at the time.  And I think my available space was around 30mb.  Had maybe at least 5 apps running.

Try the different method of hard reset here and also watch the video of resetting the phone can be helpful. http://www.itjungles.com/iphone-tips/iphone-4-how-to-hard-reset-on-iphone. I would think you have to charge the phone for a little bit of power before you could start to use it.

  • Hard reset on 7370

I googled 2 evenings to find the hard reset code for the 7370 (RM-70) which is a BB5.0 based phone. Unfortunately no success. The code *#7370# does NOT work.
P.S. The idea is to have a clean start, not to unlock the phone. The phone is not locked an I have a backup with PC suite.

    hi eefidob
How about the "three finger salute"?
Press "*", "3" and *Green Phone" all at same time and then power on, keeping these three buttons depressed until Nokia appears!

  • Unable to Hard Reset Lumia 800 - Phone Won't Turn ...

My phone won't get past the Nokia image when starting up. I have tried a soft and hard reset without luck.
For a hard reset, instruction say that I should start with the phone off but whenever I turn it off, it starts back up again! Maybe this is what prevents me from doing a hard reset?
Any suggestions please? Volume down, power and camera buttons all held down, etc. but no combination seems to reset it for me.
    Thanks

The only time the phone should restart on its won when you turn it off is if it is the charger was plugged in and the phone charging. Sound to me like a possible hardware issue. Perhaps the best thing to do would be to get it checked out at your local Nokia Care Point.

  • Palm Tungsten E2, Unable to Hard reset

I have pushed the power switch and then the reset button on the back. The manual states that the logo should appear and then push the up position on the 5 way tab on the front when it asks if you want to erase  the data.
This does not happen on my palm. The logo appears then it moves to a screen asking fo my password. which is my initial problem as my palm will not recognize my password. I am just trying to get into the palm so I can      re-sync from my computer back to the Palm.  Help is needed.

Sounds like something is scrambled on your phone. A Hard Reset seems to be in your near future...  This will erase your phone, and all the data on it, and then will install all the programs that came on it when brand new.

  • Nokia c7 pr 1.2 hard reset

    Greetings all.
My C7 has been giving me alot of problems so I am planning on installing pr 1.2 via ovi suite and doing a hard reset. *#7370# hasn't worked so this is whats left. Does anyone know if this will delete Maps, Social and Store and the Qt support like it did with the original firmware or will I be fine? I've already sent it to Nokia twice and they didn't seem to do anything. This is a last resort. Thank you for any help.

No, you will not lose anything if you update your device. But if you want to be 99% sure that you will not lose any apps or files, then just back-up your stuff before updating.
P.S. Avoid installing unnecessary apps so that you don't face so many problems with your C7.

  • Any problems if I hard reset on E61i

I am having troubles with some sftwr installs on a new E61i and I think I might need to do a hard reset with *#7370#. The sftwr can't seem to connect to, or find, a wifi access point. But I'm using my personal wifi connection all the time on the handset for surfing and emailing. It runs great - very fast and accurate.
I have all of my contacts / messages / email info backed up from the handset.
Will I be in danger of losing any factory settings or applications from doing a hard reset? I do not want to "bick" this brand new handset!
Any advise would be very welcome. Of course, I haven't done the reset and I won't until I have a clear understanding of the dangers.
    Thank you!!

Oh, when I mean takes everything, it doesn't take application that are in the firmware, just those you have installed yourself...

  • How to format and hard reset N79? *#7370# does onl...

    Hi!
I tried to format my Nokia N79 with *#7370# but all applications and contacts ect are still there. Is there a way to complettly reset and format the phone?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I did this on my phone and most of the problem was being fixed by doing this, but doing this is just easy crazy.... I still have the phone lock issue.... the nokia says the default phone lock was 12345 unless changed.... My phone lock was never been changed but that 12345 never work.... I had tried this hard reset but phone lock was never been reset....
@gooran - here are the steps with that green button, asterisk, and 3 then power on
    1) switch-off your phone
    2) press and hold these three buttons: green call key, asterisk(*), the number 3 key (def). Make sure don't let go of these three keys unti you had pressed the power key for seconds
    3) your phone may display formatting/deleting, or no display at all, as what haPpened to me, it has no display but others say it would have display....
    4) switch-on your phone and you're done!

  • E72 Hard Reset - unable to restore backup

Due to some trouble with the camera getting the focus right, and general low performance of my e72, i had to perform a hard reset on the device (german fw v. 53.x.1).
I made 3 backups of all date via Ovi Suite 3.1 before. After the reset, the device runs fine again but I am unable to restore all data. In fact,
    - Messages (SMS)
    - phone settings
    - applications
    - calendar/notes (which is synced by outlook, so not a problem)
are missing! When I only restore the messages, I receive an error from OVI. It runs fine with Nokia PC Suite Content Copier (it says 100%), but the messages are still not restored.
In Content Copier, I don't even see a check box for applications and phone settings! Has it been disabled for e72 devices?
I have done the procedure on an old e71 and n82 befor and it just ran very well, everything was restored. Why does the e72 make such trouble? Is there a possibility to recover things another way out of the *.nbu file??

    Okay, this Prog helps-a-lot:
    http://techie-buzz.com/mobile-news/browse-nbu-files-with-nokia-backup-explorer.html
there are no settings / programs saved in the e72's backups - WHY??
at least I'm able to recover the messages.

  • HP Envy 15-j126TX Unable to turn on, hard reset does not work, warranty just over

Dear all My HP Envy laptop was working fine every day, doing its job well till today.I tried to turn on the laptop by pressing the power button, but nothing happened.Removing the battery, using only the AC charger, switching power sources and hard resets all don't work. What the problem looks like:- laptop does not turn on when power button is pressed- charging port emits a red light when battery is in, white light when only relying on AC power.- screen does not turn on at all, no fan sounds either. To make things worse, HP has been asking me to extend my warranty for about a month. I declined. The warranty end date (1 year) was approximately July 14. Today is July 15. I hope this is not the case, but it seems that HP has produced a computer designed to fail on the exact date that warranty ends. I would greatly appreciate any help as I depend heavily on my laptop for school and work purposes.Thank you!

  • Nokia 6133 hard reset?

I have a Nokia 6133 and I am unable to get past the white loading screen because I have too many text messages (over 6000 in the phone). I am 100% sure this is the problem. I need to do a hard reset on the phone or I will end up having to throw it away (since the local repair center wants $50 just to flash it which is what the phone is worth) which would be a shame because it works fine otherwise. I've tried the three-button-reset I've seen floating around (hold *, green call button, and 3 at the same time while turning the phone on), and I've also tried the *#7780# and *#7370# codes but they didn't work. Any advice?

It's probably still worth taking it to the NCP and paying the $50 to have the phone re-flashed. Don't think of the value of the phone, think of what you'd have to pay to replace it. That would certainly be more than 50 bucks.
The 6133 is a great phone otherwise. You just have to be careful with its memory resources, and 6000 messages is a lot of messages in anyone's books. There are rarely more than 50-60 in mine at any given time.

Hey Frnds Ovi Store Is Working.............yupppyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Finally it installed on my c7 and n8 too......
What should hv to do(for those whose ovi is unable to install):
    * just Format your phone via *#7370#
    * And after that no need to install any qt etc software, just check for SW update in your device.
    * And it will show an update of ovi store about 15 MB .
    * Thats it.
why it was not showing an update before?
ans. because i hv installed qt 4.7 and qt webkit.so SW update wasn't showing any update.
I will request admin to move this thread to Solution section...

  • All-In-One C4780 screen is stuck on a loop. How can I hard reset the printer?

I have a C4780 and am running Windows 7. I have had the printer for 2 years and never had a problem until recently. I have been unable to print for months because the touch screen on the printer is stuck in a loop. I first noticed the problem because I could hear random beeping and printer movement from the other room. It was doing it all on it's own. There were no changes to the computers, wireless or anything. I had just used it 2 weeks prior to print a passport photo and it worked fine.
It thinks I am trying to print from a memory card and asks me to insert the card. Then it thinks I am trying to print a passport photo. Then it thinks I am scanning and asks me to place the photo face down. (etc, etc) If I try to hit cancel on any of the screens, it moves on to a different task it thinks I want done. If I try to follow through with the task it wants to do, it cancels it on it's own and moves on to another task. It will also move through the screens and tasks without me around. It moves so quickly through the screens that when I do try to get to a certain screen, I sometimes can't, because the printer has taken off in a different direction of screens all on its own.
All software is up to date.
I have tried turning it off, unplugging it, waiting, plugging it back in, turning it on.
I have tried unplugging it while it is on, waiting, plugging it in and turning it on.
I tried a semi-full reset by pressing bottom left 4 times. It was actually really difficult because the printer kept changing screens randomly while I was doing it. I finally got it to do the reset. It got to the "now printing alignment page..." screen and then just moved on to the main screen. Never printed the page. Shortly after that it started doing the screen loop with wireless settings. And now it is back to doing a loop through all the screens again.
It seems to be pushing buttons on its own.
Does anyone have any idea of how I can fix this? Is there a way to do a hard-reset on this printer? Restore it to factory settings? Or doing you think there is something physically wrong with the touch screen where it is actually pressing buttons on it's own?

I'm having the same problem, including paper running through the printer randomly. I believe I completed a semi-full reset that (so far) has stopped the paper going through the printer. And, the random changes on the touch screen seem to have stopped too. But, the touch screen still lights up and goes dark randomly, whcih leads me to believe that all is still not well.
I too would like to try and hard reset if one is possible on this machine.

  • How To Hard Reset N8

Just to help people who have reported problems re-setting the N8, apparently there is a button combo to reset, Kudos to AAS
    http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/news/item/12185_Another_three_finger_salute_do.php
Text below has been added by Nokia:
Important information from the official N8 FAQ
    (http://europe.nokia.com/support/search?page=1&fullcontent=true&cat=support&cnt=1&qt=n8+reset)
    You
should not use the "three finger" reset (pressing volume down + camera key +
menu key and pressing power button) to hard reset the Nokia N8-00 device. Doing
this will delete some applications (Ovi Store, Ovi Maps, some preinstalled
    widgets) which cannot be restored.
If the device needs to be reset, try the following methods
instead of the "three finger" reset:
Press down the power button for 8
    seconds.
Restore the factory settings by selecting Menu
    > Settings > Phone > Phone management > Factory settings >
    Restore.
The "three finger" reset should be used only
as a last resort if the device cannot be booted up in any other way.
    If
successful, the device can be used after the reset but some of the applications
are missing. The device needs to be taken to a Nokia Care point for reflashing
to get the original applications back in the
    device.

Just in case someone needs to reformat the Nokia N8, a Forum Nokia blog post describes how to do this. Excerpt:
How to Full Format your bricked N8?
Many guys here face the "brick" problem after trying to play with FontRouter. So I have to find the way to recover it and at last I found one. (And I have to warn you here that DON'T USE FontRouter ON YOUR N8 OR YOU WILL BRICK YOUR DEVICE)
Here is the method to full format and make bricked N8 come alive again:
    1) Turn off your phone
    2) Hold "Volume Down + Camera Key + Menu Key" and press power button until your phone shake
    3) Wait until screen show properly... and welcome back!!
Please note that I found these problems after doing full format:
    1. I lost Ovi Maps. However, you could reinstall it by download it here
    2. I also lost Ovi Store 2.0 and I can't reinstall it since it always show "Unable to install".
So please DON'T do full format if not neccessary or actually I must say that DO IT ONLY AS YOUR LAST CHOICE.
