Unity/Mailbox Transfer

What I'd like to do is once an incoming reaches the voice mail prompt have the option for the caller to press a digit and be transfer outbound to a cell or home number. I'm not sure of the terminology that would be use for the title for this.

Hi Lyle,
This is call the "Alternate Contact Number"
Enabling Callers to Transfer From Subscriber Greetings to an Alternate Contact Number
As a convenience to callers, you can set up Cisco Unity so that callers can transfer to an alternate contact number by pressing a key during the greetings for a particular subscriber or a group of subscribers. An alternate contact number can be the extension for an operator or another subscriber (such as a supervisor or coworker), or any other number where the subscriber or another person can be reached.
You can use the Cisco Unity Administrator or the Bulk Edit utility to specify the key that callers press to transfer and the number that they transfer to. You can specify the same key and alternate contact number for multiple subscribers, or you can specify a different key and/or alternate contact number for each subscriber. Subscribers can specify the alternate contact number by using the Cisco Unity conversation or the Cisco Unity Assistant. (Note that the option to specify an alternate contact number appears in the Cisco Unity Assistant regardless of whether you have specified a key that callers can press to transfer from the subscriber greeting.) The alternate contact number is limited to the numbers allowed by the restriction table for transfers that is associated with the subscriber who specifies it.
When you enable the feature, you may want to specify the key(s) that can be used to make the transfer and leave the alternate contact number unspecified, so that subscribers can specify the number themselves. Until an alternate contact number is specified, Cisco Unity ignores the key set to transfer the call if callers happen to press it during a subscriber greeting. Because neither the Cisco Unity conversation nor the Cisco Unity Assistant indicate the key that you specified to allow callers to make the transfer, let subscribers know the key so that they can include the information in their greetings. When transferring a caller to an alternate contact number, by default Cisco Unity releases the call to the phone system. Alternatively, you can configure Cisco Unity to use the subscriber's active transfer rule settings, including call holding and call screening options.
To Enable Callers to Transfer From Subscriber Greetings to an Alternate Contact Number
Step 1 In the Cisco Unity Administrator, go to the applicable page:
•To modify the template that you will use to create subscriber accounts, go to any Subscribers > Subscriber Template page, and find the template that you want to modify. Then browse to the Caller Input page.
•To modify an existing subscriber account, go to any Subscribers > Subscribers page and find the applicable subscriber. Then browse to the Caller Input page.
Step 2 Select a key from the Caller Input Map or from the keypad.
Step 3 In the action section, click Send Caller To and then click Alternate Contact Number.
Step 4 In the Number to Dial field, enter digits 0 through 9 to specify an alternate contact number up to 30 digits in length. You can also enter:
•, (comma) to insert a one-second pause.
•# and * to correspond to the # and * keys on the phone.
Do not use spaces, dashes, or parentheses between digits. Begin with an access code, if needed to make an external call (for example, 9). For long-distance numbers, also include 1 and the area code.
Step 5 Indicate whether to lock the key to that action.
Step 6 Click the Save icon.

  • Any experience of BT mailbox transfer?

Hi, does anyone have experience of a BT mailbox transfer?   We want to cancel a BT total broadband account in one property and "move" the 2 associated email addresses (and the 2 mailboxes on the BT server: each containing an inbox, various sub-folders and sent box) to align with an existing BT infinity broadband account in another property.  Today 2 helpful people from an obscure corner of BT (the 'dial up technical help' people) said they would be able to do the mailbox transfer. But yesterday I spent nearly 4 hours on the phone with BT - received lots of confusing and conflicting advice from many different departments but no clear and good answer.  Today I was finally recommended to speak to 'technical dial up' department who gave me the good news.  Just want to be double sure that today's info isn't too good to be true!  Would also be grateful for reassurance from anyone who has been through a 'mailbox transfer - did it work?  Thanks

If things do not go to plan, then
If you would like to contact one of the UK based BT Care Team who moderate this forum, they should be able to help you.
They can be contacted using this link BT Care Team
They normally respond by phone or e-mail, within three working days, however you should get an immediate confirmation, with a tracking number.

  • Unity Connection Transfer calls across ICT

I am working on a system where they have a unity connection 8.6(2) server that has a system call handler configured for external voice mail access. They would like to be able to have the users call in and enter the extensions of users on a remore CUCM cluster and be routed across the Inter Cluster trunk to the remote cluster. I have the system setup to allow the caller to enter the extension of users not associated with a mailbox and I have configured the transfer rules to allow the pattern defined for the extensions. However it still fails.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Michael

    Michael,
Ensure the CSS assigned of the SIP trunk (if using UCXN SIP integration) or voicemail ports (if using SCCP) has access to a partition that the route pattern pointing to remote cluster is assigned to.

    Chris

  • Issue with Unity's "Transfer to alternate contact number" is not able to connect calls?

I'm not have any luck  configuring the
Unity 7.1 call action "transfer to
alternate contact number" being able to complete the call transfer.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi Robert,
I would check the Calling Search Space assigned on the Unity
ports to ensure they have access to call the Alternate number
    in question.
    Cheers!

  • Error in Unity Supervise Transfer

    Hi all,
Currently, I am trying to enable call queuing on a subscriber account through supervise transfer but cannot make it work in Spanish.  At the beginning, I considered this as a misconfiguration issue but turning the language into English made it work. The fact is that Unity tries to transfer the call and prompts this  well, "wait while I transfer your call", if the call is busy, we would expect, "extension YYY is on the phone now, if you would like to hold press 1, to live a message press 2,..." (that works perfectly in ENU language). However, in Spanish prompts "The system cannot complete the call in this moment, try again later" after trying to transfer the call.
I am working with CCM6.0 and Unity 4.2 and have searched some similar TAC case but had no luck.

  • Mailbox Transfer

    Hello,
I want to switch back to apple mail. I am currently using Microsoft outlook 2011 for mac. I would like to transfer all my mailboxes including the attachments present in them, my address book to vcard and also the contacts to ical. I have tried to import through the import option in apple mail but it doesn't show outlook 2011.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks for help.

How to Import mailbox from Outlook 2011 into Mac Mail Lion
Export From Outlook 2011 Mac & Import .eml Files Into Apple Mail

  • Mailbox transfer from Apple mail to Windows Outlook 2010

There were thousands of emails in Apple mail email client. I sorted out and maild mailboxes for different types of emails. I separated work-related eails and other stuff related emails and made mailboxes for each. Now I want to move the work-related emails
to my windows laptop in Outlook 2010 email client.
I did try to sync the emails via Imap but the synchronization fails every time I try to sync the emails. I have double checked everything many times before synching but it always fails. Now I am sick of doing it as there are 10k plus mails and the sync is always
    failing.
Is there any other way to transfer the mailbox from apple mail to outlook 2010. It would be very helpful of anyone can guide me to transfer only the work mailbox folder as syncing via Imap starts downloading all the emails including the others.
I just need to transfer the work folder.
Helpful solutions will be really appreciated.

    Hi,
The easiest way to transfer data from Outlook for Mac to a Windows-based Outlook client is to upload to an exchange server. To do this, please refer:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2649169/en-us
However, if that option is not available use one of the methods listed in the link below:

  • HT4889 Mailbox Transfer from OSX 10.2.8

    Hi
Can anyone tell me how to transfer old mailboxes in Apple Mail 1.2.5 v533 created on an old iMac with OSX 10.2.8 to my new iMac?  I do not need these to be active, merely to preserve old messages, so conversion to a documant format would work for me. I transferred one archive mailbox folder to my new iMac (OSX 10.8.5) but cannot open it to save its contents.
    Thank you
    cblauth

The easiest way is to make an IMAP account and copy to server mailboxes on the IMAP account.
Then that's portable with all e-mail programs.

  • Unity - caller transfer from 1 VM box to subscriber phone RNA/RB routing

I want to call subscriber A, when I get the VM greeting, dial a subscriber B's extension, but on subscriber B RNA/RB be able to leave VM for subscriber A.

Call transfer and screening settings control how Cisco Unity handles your incoming calls from callers who did not dial you directly. Transfer and screening settings apply only when calls are routed to you from the main greeting recorded for your organization, directory assistance, or a similar automated call handler that your Cisco Unity administrator set up to assist callers who dial the main phone number for your organization. This means that when an outside caller or another subscriber dials your extension to reach you by phone, your Cisco Unity transfer and screening settings do not apply.

  • How can I set up Unity mailbox to deliver messages to email mailbox?

Unity Newbie!  Where do I configure a voice mailbox to deliver messages to user's email mailbox?

    Andrea,
The previous post simply alludes to the fact that Unity doesn't have a built-in mailstore - instead it relies on Exchange (or in some cases, Domino).  Unity can be set up in a Voicemail Only configuration or Unified Messaging configuration.  If you have Unity, AD, and Exchange installed all on one box then this is usually indicative of voicemail only.  In other words, your Unity server is also a domain controller and Exchange server in a standalone domain used just for itself.  When you create subscribers, an associated AD and Exchange account are created but within the domain associated with Unity (not the domain users log into so the users are only aware of the phone login credentials).  In Unified Messaging, your Unity would be a MEMBER of an existing AD domain and would integrate with a corporate Exchange server or cluster.  In this configuration, the account associated with a subscriber is the account they use everyday - in other words, their voicemail resides in their Exchange inbox that they connect to via Outlook.
My guess is that you have voicemail only configuration today but are looking to do 1 of 3 things:
    1) Unified Messaging - voicemail is actually integrated with your corporate Exchange and all voicemails natively reside in the inbox
    2) Mail Relay - voicemail messages are relayed from the existing Unity to an email address configured for a user
    3) Integrated Messaging - user can configure an IMAP folder in their email client and have access to voicemail from within a separate mailbox in the client
Which sounds like your requirement?  If you have more questions, just ask.

  • Unity Connection transfer to external number plays music on hold continuously.

We found an issue when transfer external calls out of Unity Connection (9.0 and 9.1) that the Music on Hold continuously plays and never connects the call.
The outgoing calls are going out SIP.  The call does get placed and does connect to the external number but it is promptly dropped as the transfer does not complete.  The calling party only hears hold music.
Through testing we found that this only happens when the call goes out SIP.  We also found that the issue is resolved when changing the Transfer Rules from Release to Switch to Supervise Transfer.
Would we need to change each User's Transfer Rules to Supervise Transfer or is there another way to release the transfer?  Is this a bug?

    Hi Jennifer,
Your issue seems to be as below.
Problem 2. Call is Connected and then Disconnected
The call is connected and then it is disconnected. The call transfer is successful when an internal extension initiates the call whereas the call fails, if the calling side is from PSTN.
    Call Flow
PSTN>H323 GW>CUCM>Unity Connection Call Handler (Any Caller Input - Transfer to Alternate Contact Number)>External Number or CTI RP with CFA to External Number.
    Core Issue/Call Flow Analysis
Here is an analysis of the call flow and the common problem for a failed call transfer:
The First call leg is a H323 Fast Start, from the Gateway to the CUCM. CUC receives the call and transfers the call back to CUCM. CUCM in turn places the first call on hold and initiates a new call to the PSTN.
The second call leg is a H323 Slow start. Finally, when the call is answered, the CUCM or the Gateway does not send H245 capabilities. This causes a timeout and the call is disconnected.
    Solution
By default, Wait for Far End H.245 Terminal Capability Set (TCS) check box is checked. As a result, CUCM expects the far-end H.245 TCS before it sends its H.245 TCS. If this checkbox is unchecked, CUCM must initiate capabilities exchange.
In order to resolve this problem:
Uncheck the Wait for Far End H.245 Terminal Capability Set (TCS) check box.
    Or
Make a change on the gateway so that the gateway initiates capabilities exchange.
Enter these commands in order to configure a change required on the gateway.
    conf t
        voice service voip
       h323
              h225 start-h245 on-connect

  • IPhone mailbox transfer

    Hi all,
How do I transfer the contents of the Sent Mail folder and Inbox from my 3G iPhone to my new 4s? I have some mesages there that exist nowhere else and I'd like to preserve them.
Ultimately I'd like just to copy the entire folder(s) over to the new phone. Having a really hard time getting any info on how to do this.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks!

On your mac, there are different mailboxes listed in the left panel.  One, "On my mac" are folders that are on your mac only, they are not part of the email account folders.  Any folders "on my mac" will not sync with other devices.
Also, many email accounts are POP account (not Exchange or IMAP).  Folders that you have on your mac in a POP account are local to your mac, not part of the account.  So again, these folders cannot sync with other devices.

  • Unity Call Transfer with announce from IPCC

I'm trying to setup a script in IPCC for Meetme users to call into, enter in a PIN number, and be sent to the correct Meetme conference. I've got all of that working just peachy. I was hoping to also be able to use Unity's call transfer with announce functionality using a call handler. Unfortunately through testing and also verified in documentation, the call transfer functionality is ignored for forwarded calls (calls not handled by the unity auto attendant or directory handler).
Can someone enlighten me on a workaround for this? Basically I want the caller to come into IPCC, enter their PIN, IPCC shoot the caller to a Unity call handler which prompts for the user's name, then Unity announce that person's name to the conference and then finalize the call transfer to the Meetme conference.
I've tried all sorts of combinations using CTI route points in call manager, modifying direct and forwarding route patterns in Unity etc. No dice so far to get the call announce working. Many thanks in advance!

I appreciate all the responses. I was able to get this to work, my dunce hat was on and my Unity forwarding rule was sending to the greeting of the Call Handler rather than the Attempt Transfer.
The powers that be at my company wanted to assign a different MeetMe number to each department in order to reduce the risk of multiple people trying to use the same conference line at the same time. I did not like the fact of having to setup 20 cti route points in CallManager, and then 20 call forwarders inside of Unity that then sent to 20 separate call handlers. I found a way to bypass the cti route points and call forwarders by having IPCC send the call directly to Unity.
The trick to bypassing CallManager CTI route points that simply forward to Unity, and setting up call forwarders in Unity is this:
    1) In IPCC, use a consultive transfer instead of a call redirect. This allows you to first dial the main voicemail number and then dial the specific voicemail box once you are in Unity.
    2) On your call handler in Unity, simply specify the extension number of the call handler (I used the same number as the MeetMe line), and also set the forwarding number.
    So I've been able to change the process from Caller->IPCC Script->Callmanager CTI RP->Unity forwarder->Unity call handler->MeetMe to simply Caller->IPCC Script->Unity call handler->MeetMe
As for my IPCC script, I used arrays to handle my plethora of conference lines, it greatly cut down on the size of my script.

  • CVP to Unity Mailbox issue.

    Hi,
I am having a problem with calls going to the correct voice mailbox after coming from CVP when the call originates on a CTI RP.
When the call comes in on a DN associated to the CVP Routing Client, the call goes to the correct Voice Mailbox.
    The call flow is:
    1) Call hits a dial-peer in the gateway
    2) Call goes to CVP
    3) ICM executes a script associated to the DN.
    4) The call will end in a Precision Queue.
    4) If no agent is available the call will then be routed to a Unity pilot number, to be routed to a Voice mailbox associated to the number.
I do this by using Call Routing Rules, that matches the calling number. I've used set the user.microapp.override_cli ECC variable to the dialled number to ensure the CLI matches the calling number for the routing rule in Unity.
The above call flow works correctly and the call goes to the correct Voice mailbox. If I do same and it is an internal call with the caller dialling a CTI Route point the call ends up at unity but is not associated to the correct Voice mailbox.
I assume the user.microapp.override_cli ECC variable does not work when the call comes in via CUCM, is that correct?
If that is correct, how do I make sure the call goes to the correct Voice mailbox?
    Thanks,
    Bruce

I mean in unity connection Advanced --> Conversation section enable option Use Last (Rather than First) Redirecting Number for Routing INCOMINGCall

  • Unity supervised transfer hold music

In the cisco document http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps2237/products_qanda_item09186a0080093c13.shtml it states that Unity places a call on hold and uses the audio file specified in the device pool that contains the voicemail ports. I have a fixed audio source that I would like to play but it only lists items from the music on hold audio source section.
    Currently using 8.5 Unity.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    What's your CUCM version??
That's an old doc, and it has been some time since they removed the audio source option from the device pool config.
Now it's under Common Device Configuration. The other 3 levels for audio source config, remain the same.
