Unwanted charges

My stepson's mother allowed my stepson to download an app or two using her debit card. The debit card was red flagged by the bank for suspicious activity and new card issued. Now there is a problem with billing info, but access to itunes store remained as stepson continued to try to download apps and music. $34 in charges, stepson says things he selected to download didn't download. Not he can't download anything from itunes store, even free items, until account is brought current. Is there anything that we can do? We obviously don't want to pay for the charges. My stepson and his mother did not know what they were doing, and obviously did not ask us for assistance with purchases.

    You can also Settings > General > Restrictions > In-App Purchases 'off' to prevent future in-app purchases being made.

  • HP laptop battery plugged in not charg.....

    I bought a HP Mini 5101 from US in April .I had the common problem of charger being plugged in but not charging, I tried all the reboot and tapping the power button etc, etc... None worked, so as long as the computer worked when plugged in I carried on, until now. It has completely died on me now, so help...

    1) if the battery is charged for around 90%(depends on model to model it may be 80% also) its normal to avoid anty unwanted charge cycle. this will help improve battery life.
    2) if the machine is not charging because to used in too hot ambient temprature or its heating up for some reason. option is to let the machine cool down and it will start charging. this is again technology limitation and safety measure.
    if above are not true:  Try this:
    Disconnect AC
    Shutdown
    Remove battery
    Connect AC
    Startup
    Open Device Manager
    Click the plus (+) sign next to Batteries category, right-click All of the "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" listings, and select Uninstall In the "Confirm Device Uninstall" dialog box, click OK. (it’s ok if you only have 1 of these listings).
    Click the plus (+) sign next to System Devices.
    Right-click the “ACPI Fixed Features Button" and select Uninstall. In the "Confirm Device Uninstall" dialog box, click OK.
    Shutdown
    Disconnect AC
    Insert battery
    Connect AC
    Startup

  • Some question about International Travel

    Ok so i know alot of people have question about international travel weather is USA to Canada, Canada to USA or where ever.
    So i just got off the phone with someone from AT&T these are my questions for them. i hope it can help, im confuse myself.
    *1. I travel recently travel to canada a few weeks ago, when i cross the boarder i switch the data roaming ON and it picks up Rogers Wireless, a few days ago i try i again it said NO SERVICE is something wrong with my iPad?*
    NO, consider yourself lucky u didnt get charge for that roaming, your ipad well not work out of the US unless u buy one of our International plans that AT&T has provided. The reason for this is so you wont have any unwanted charge or high charge on your bill.
    *2. If i was to buy a sim card from Canada and pop it in to my US ipad well it work?*
    Honestly that's something you can try at your own risk, it's design for AT&T so by switching sim cards it may affect your ipad such as running slow, virus, crash. You can try it, i dont work for Rogers so i know nothing about them, i work for AT&T so i can only tell you about our plans and i wont lie to you.(I THINK U JUST DID) This ipad is not unlock just like the iphone so it well only work with AT&T.
    *3. If i pop my sim card out and put in an international sim card well it affect my plan at all or in any way?*
    Yes it can, right now your on the unlimited plan if you put in a different sim card and then re-put in ur AT&T one chances are you're going to loose your unlimited plan and have to settle for the newer plan. That's why AT&T has reduce it's international plans so people are more likely to use it. It's a contract we sign with Apple, if u want to use in canada you can always buy an Ipad in canada and use their plan. (***)
    At the end of this conversion i was just more angry with them. All in all she told bottom line is dont do anything stick with AT&T and pay for international plans. So i have to pay over price data plan if i want to use it intertanional? or i have to buy an ipad for each international places i go to?
    Has anyone try or done any of the 3 ive mention and did it affect ur plan or ipad in anyway?

    Ok so here's a little more info
    I called AT&T again today asking them the same question the guy was more helpful then the one yesterday. Even though he kinda told me the same saying that the ipad need to be unlock. , Afterward he transfer me someone from Apple. The lady told me
    1. The ipad is UNLOCK so dont bother trying to get it unlock.
    2. she doesnt see why sticking in another sim card from one of the apple ipad carrier is a problem. U would just have to sign up activated it like u would when u first got it.
    3. Contact phone company (my case Rogers) to see if they carry the mico sim cards.
    4. She doesnt see why it would affect the current plan u have now.
    So at the end of all that she told me, seem like AT&T is just telling you, you cant do this or u shouldnt do that is simple THEY WANT YOU TO USE THEIR PLANS.
    so with that i said i just want to let everyone know. I'm gonna go pick my Micro sim cards from Canada in a bit and sign up for thier plan we'll keep everyone updated if anything change or how it work

  • App store keeps asking for my credit card info for free apps!??

    Every time I go to get a free app, I keep getting asked for my credit card info to be updated. If it's free, why is my credit card info needed!?? I don't want to get charged, so I cancel out of the credit card request, it's not worth trying to get unwanted charges taken off. I would write to Apple but for some strange reason they refuse to use email for help. So, guess I will just try here.

    Even I do faced same issue on my iphone 5 recently, because I had updated my credit card details while purchasing 'whats app'. Later on if I try do down load free apps, it started asking me verify payment info..I got frustrated and tried to remove apple id and create the same id and reset networksettings, but issue not resolved.!!
    Possible scenarios of it occures:
    1. While creating your apple id you might have given credit card info an dlater that got modified/expired
    2. Once you buy anything by using credit card that info will be updated to your apple id, so it asks every time
    Resolution:
    Just remove your credit card details from payment information
    setting > icloud > account > payment information -- remove ur credit card info , done done
    Then try to download free app, it will only asks for apple password, It will not ask for 'payment verification'

  • Does anyone know anything about U2 being downloaded for free to everyone with iTunes?

    I am wondering about my iTunes account, I heard a whole album was free to everybody with an iTunes account. I apparently got the whole album downloaded into my iTunes account without even realizing it, and it charged me money, so I'm wondering can I get my money back for free because I got charged when this album got downloaded to my iTunes. The album was by U2, and I didn't want to get it or even get charged the money for it, so I'm wondering about this, can someone answer me about this if you know anything about it, thank you.

    Dear Verizon,
    Is there any way that you can be proactive on spam controls for SMS?
    We have been begging for this in this forum for years now.
    I just don't see that this is happening. I have trawled your website and cannot even find a place to report spam.
    You allow us to enter 5 numbers that expire in 90 days, but I have so many more messages from spam phone numbers (not email addresses) than that.
    Can we block text messages from entire area codes? - Nope
    (if so, I need to block area codes  fouronefive and sevenohtwo and twozeronine)
    Can we get text messages blocked with the text: 2end reply STOP
    (I mean, this is really obvious spam folks)
    Can we block messages that advertise Gas cards, Gift cards, get paid for shopping or other such phrases?
    Can we block any message with an eightsevenseven or eightsixsix phone number in the text of the message?

    209 and 415 are area codes close to where I live - I couldn't block all calls from those area codes because I have lots of folks I know and on my contact list with those area codes.  There are lots of legitimate phone numbers in those area codes.
    Text STOP to each one.  (Not sure it would help though).  Are you getting charges for Premium messaging on your bill?  Put a block on premium text messaging (you can call CS to do this); it will block a lot and prevent unwanted charges on your bill.
    Not sure what else to tell you, but don't give your cell # to anyone you don't want calling you.....

    Upgraded from Orange to EE and Deezer was working fine but now saying I have to "go premium" and pay £9.99 a month!!!

    In case you decide NOT to sign for Deezer please make sure that you "disable" the application by launching it's application settings. With this opportunity you may want to disable the EE game app as there were reports of unwanted charges.

  • 5800 Wifi & Facebook Application.

    Currently my phone company doesn't offer free internet on my mobile. So I've been using Wi-Fi on my mobile to avoid getting it, although when using the Facebook application it automatically connects via 02 postpay when I would rather it connect via Wi-Fi.
    Is there any way to get it to do this?

    One simple and safe option (on my 5800):
    Tools - Settings - Connectivity - Destinations - Options - Default Connection - Always ask
    Or you could put your relevant access points into Tools - Settings - Connectivity - Destinations - Internet (if they aren't there already) and prioritise them (open the aforementioned "Internet" folder, select "Options" and then "Organise" ) so that your WiFi connection has a higher priority than O2 Postpay. Then set the Default Connection access point (as in first paragraph above) to "Internet". However, this method means that if a high priority access point (eg your WiFi connection) cannot be found, a connection with a lower priority (eg O2postpay) would be used, with possible unwanted charges accruing.
    (There is also the option of setting only your Facebook application or device browser default access point to "Always ask" or (prioritised ) "Internet", but one of the first two choices above would answer your question without undue complication for other applications.)

    I am very unhappy with the way the problems I have had with my account have been dealt with.  I have had continuous promises of my account being credited for the mistakes that bt have made for charges.  The mistakes have been continuous from my first bill and taking service from BT which was over 4 years ago.  Recently i have been accidentally, again, cut off for my broadband and charged 2 x £50 charges for Bt to have the pleasure of doing this.  I have had incorrect customer service advice which has resulted in extra charges being made on my account for late payments and cut off fees, I have continuously complained about these and they have not been addressed.  I have had no call backs and my account has been left without amendments when ever I speak to customer services they say that has been done now and will show on your next bill, or pay the extra £40 or so error and it will be credited on your next bill, I am on benefits and a single disabled mother to three children, one of whom is disabled and retarded.  I have struggled to meet your demands but I have finally had enough and wish to take this complaint of my account to a higher level. I hope someone will contact me about this matter and a solution and also compensation for my time and stress which has affected my familys safety at times being without service.  i demand there be someone look into the horrendous service I have recieved and also my contract to be looked at so that I may leave BT without any charges made for release from wrongly applied contracts for my BT broadband and BT phoneline and call packages which i have been chained to without asking for them to be renewed.  I look forward to hearing from you asap

    £120 data charges on o2 whilst in mexico data roaming turned off, advisor says its a characteristic of i phone 6 , when it cant get wifi it can sometimes switch back to mobile data ??? i don't think so but happy to stand corrected

    When you set up S2G where did you select as your current location and have you updated that location now that you're in Saudi. What International code are you calling ? The US or a local call in Saudi ?
    Your cellular must still be connected otheriwse you wouldn't be able to even call the access number and you're getting billed for roaming by AT&T.
    You should use the Skype app over wifi to get the best Skype rates, but be aware that VoIP is blocked in many middle eastern countries and you need a subscription to a VPN service to get around the block.

  • How do you preview/delete unwanted texts to avoid charges every time one is sent?

    On all of my cell phones before getting the iphone 4, if I received a text message I had a chance to see a small preview or at least the sender in order to accept or delete it before incurring a charge for opening it.  It appears that iphone does not have this feature and any sent texts automatically get opened and I am charged whether I wanted it or not.  Is there a way to activate this functionality or am I just at the mercy of whoever sends me texts and verizon gets their 20 cents from me everytime?  This adds up over a month and I end up paying for messages I do not even want to be getting and I seem to have no control over this unless I block all texts.  This doesn't solve my problem because I do want to receive some texts from those I do want to communicate with, just not the rest.  Almost seems fraudulent, verizon could be sending customers texts from outside sources and each time they earn 20 cents if the customer doesn't pay for an unlimited texting plan.

    You will be charged but if it is something you don't know you can get a credit for them. After that you can block them.
    Or you can do usage controls and set people you want to allow to text you. I think it's so much a month but there's an app bundle that includes it if you like the other apps to make the price worth it. If you only do controls it is $4.99

  • Unwanted and never used Adobe cloud but being charged $10.54 per month since August

    I just became aware that I have been charged $10.54 per month since I tried Adobe photo shop and Lightroom "free trial" in August.  I didn't realize this "free trial" was going to be converted to a month to month membership.  So basically I've been charged $50+ for services I've not used and didn't even know I had access to.  I decided after trying these programs, they were too advanced for me.  I've cancelled my membership today.  Is it possible to have any of this money reimbursed, especially for Dec since I'm not using this programs.  I'm very disappointed in this situation and feel taken advantage of.  I've received emails from Adobe Cloud that seemed like advertisements and I deleted them.  I don't even know what Adobe cloud is or how it is used.  Please advise re: reimbursement requested.
