Webserver issue

Please assist, there are several times that we face this problem where the server instance fails when we do restart due to some session still active. This will sometimes cause the server to hangs, not responding and also socket closed. Is the any way that we can encounter this problem? For your info, we did a restart once a week. Is there any settings that can be adjusted to encounter this problem.
FYI, we are using iPlanet version: Sun ONE Web Server 6.1SP6 B05/07/2006 12:33
error logs:
[03/Oct/2007:00:50:29] warning (19187): HTTP3039: terminating with 2 sessions still in progress
[03/Oct/2007:00:50:29] failure (19187): CORE3189: Restart functions not called since 2 sessions still active
[03/Oct/2007:03:31:15] failure (19187): HTTP3287: connection limit (4096) exceeded, closing socket

How do you restart webserver? WHy do you need to restart WS? Those error message are normal and indicate the where the problem happen. I did see any real issue here. Can you reproduce server hang? If so, please provide test steps.
BTW, you may upgrade your instance to SP8 because there are a lot of fixes since SP6.

  • Issue in loading images from Apache webserver in JSF image tags on WLS 10

I have configured the apache webserver2.0 for passing on the request to weblogic 10.0. I have images in apache webserver. In my application on weblogic i am using JSF f. In JSF for <h:graphics> tag i am not able to load images from apache webserver. issue we found out that it prepend a context url on it.
pls provide if u have any solution for it.
Edited by neerajr at 11/16/2007 3:33 PM

    Hi, Neeraj,
Are you actually telling <h:graphicImage>? As per html_basic.tld, the "uri" attribute is context-relative.
Using "value" attribute instead of "url" attribute may be helpful. Something like
              <h:graphicImage id="fooImage" value="http://www.foosite.com/image/foo.jpg"/>
This should work on WLS10.0 if you are using the JSF library bundled in it.
              Thanks,
              -Fred.

  • Problem in Opening Workflow Interface.

    Hi,
    I have installed Stellent 7.5.1
All the components are working fine, if i'm trying to open Workflow i'm getting pop saying this message
"unable to start the application workflow. Failed to response from host Server returned HTTP response code:502 for URL"
Can any one suggest how this can be solved.
    Thanks

Are you referring to the Workflow Admin Applet?
If so do the other Admin Applets fail in the same way?
This is most likely a TCP/IP or webserver issue

  • Session Stickiness

Can anyone advise if I can do this with Vshield?  I am getting thins from a developer hosting on some servers in our data center.
We need to maintain session stickiness for users as they switch back and forth between http and https.  Is it possible to do this with a method other than IP hash?  We would like to avoid IP hash because of concerns of it not working for companies with multiple gateways/proxies and/or mobile users who may switch networks during a session.
    Thank you in advance
    Todd

    Hello,
If they are talking about a web server session, then that is entirely up to the web server unless you are using vCNS load balancing, then I do not think so. Session stickiness between protocols I do not think is supported but this is something you will have to test. The best thing to do in this case is attempt it, and see if things work as the developer expected. If in the webserver, that is a webserver issue, in the LB, then a vCNS issue.

I hosted my website on my local webserver (Window Server 2008), and when I run it on

  • Issue While sending data to Webserver

    Hi All,
I am facing an issue while sending data to a webserver. My scenario is SAP(Proxy) to XI to Webserver. It is an asynchronous scenario. The same communication channel and same WSDL is used to send many Interfaces but when I am sending data for a particular Interface I am facing the issue "SOAP: response message contains an error XIAdapter/HTTP/ADAPTER.HTTP_EXCEPTION - HTTP 400 Bad Request"
    Few points for reference -
    1. I am sending valid data to the webserver(Confirmed by the webserver guy).
    2. The WSDL is the latest one and the same WSDL is used at their end to receive the data.
    3. The schema I am using to send the data is also the latest ones.
    4. The same payload when sent through SOAPUI tool reaches the web server.
    5. The same communcation channel is used to send data for all the messages. All other messages are reaching the webserver except this message.
Can anyone please provide me some solution for this issue.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Sarat

SInce you are using only one receiver channel for all WSDL operations, I hope you are setting SOAP action for each message type (operation) using dynamic configuration during mapping or at module level(in the soap receiver channel using DC bean).
    >> 5. The same communcation channel is used to send data for all the messages. All other messages are reaching the webserver except this message.
Cross verify again all the design and configurations. check the MONI for Dynamic configuration header for this particular message if you are setting the same during mapping.
    >> 4. The same payload when sent through SOAPUI tool reaches the web server.
Finally you can use some Sniffer tools to verify the requests that are being sent from XI and you can compare with SOAP UI tool request which is sending correct request in your case.

  • Permissions issues with WebServer

We host our own website on our Xserver (v. 10.4.something). There are two of us who add folders and files to the website, but we often run into permissions issues. If a file is created on the server itself, logged in as Admin, we're fine. But if one of us FTPs in (often easier than physically walking over to said server to move the files manually), then whatever directories we create and files we place are defaulted to read-only for every other user.
Is there a way to set our user account permissions or WebServer permissions to automatically be read-write for the groups we belong to?
    Thanks
    -Rita

You could probably use inherited ACL's for this? If you enable ACL's (requires reboot in 10.4.x server, 10.5.x has ACL enabled by default) then you can use server admin and specify ACL's as desired (Including inheritance or otherwise). This way you could set it as such that specific groups / users or even everyone has whatever access you need for directories and files based on the settings you specify.
    HTH.

  • Port issue while rebooting Webserver

    Hi guys,
    I have weblogic8.1,pt8.44 and HRMS8.8 on Solaris 8 and oracle9i.
I have verisign certification installed on webserver and when i'm rebooting the webserver i'm getting the following error:
    <Emergency> <WebLogicServer> <BEA-000351> <
Unable to create a server socket on Channel Default for port: 443. java.net.Bind
Exception: Address already in use Perhaps another process is using port 443.>
443 is our SSL port.Although the webserver is running, but the verisign or internet link isn't working.
When I check netstat -an | grep 443, i'm getting the following values:
    Local Address Remote Address State
    xxxx.xxxx.443 xxxx.xxxx.52405 Close_wait
    xxxx.xxxx.443 xxxx.xxxx.36086 Close_wait

    xxxx.xxxx.443 xxxx.xxxx.4723 Close_wait
I know this is a solaris problem, if any anyone has faced this,Please reply

    Hi Guys,
The issue has been solved. I have cleared the hanging ports by using lsof. Now, after rebooting the webserver I was able to access the verisign link.

  • Suggest me for the Issue on Sun webserver 7.0

    Hi All,
I should not call it as issue.
In our project ,we have configured reverse proxy on two sun webserver 7.0 servers ,each webserver will serve each sun application server. The reverse proxy configuration is working fine and it is serving sun application server comfortably. But the issue is,
Sometimes one of the Sunapplication servers is going down and based on reverse proxy configuration the webserver is redirecting the requests to the server which is already down.
How can I configure sun webserver to redirect to another application which is alive.
    Looking for your valuable replies.
    Thanks in Advance

  • Issue with Sun Webserver 7

    Hi
I am facing issue with sun webserver7.0. I installed 64 bit version of sun webserver 7 on solaris 64 bit machine.
I added my NSAPI extension to it. And it works fine.
The problem i m facing is things are not consistance.. Like i configure my connector(nsapi extension) and request pageof that extension some time it comes and sometimes not.
when i restart web server things starts working fine. until my connector restart when it adds extension to it.
Also seen cases where the same page can be opened in IE cannt working in firefox.
i tried all possible cases. I still not able to figure out issue is in my connector or their is issue with web server 7 for 64 bit.
    Thanks in advance.

I don't know about this but I will try.
    1. Web Server's Web Container supports jsps.
    2. Can you use simple redirects in obj.conf for the rest to forward your requests?

    3. Or Can't you use reverse proxy to forward your requests?

    4. I don't understand what you extensions do, if you want to simply register a file extension, can't adding new entry in mime.types work?

    Thanks for the reply.
curretnly i see from logs we have servicepack 6 for iplanet6.0 in my box. If i upgrade with new servicepack can i use JDK1.6? because i don't see that kind of statement with even in any of the documents. The documents only talk upto 1.4.2
secondly upgrading to newer version,I think for this we need to take new licences and is there will be a cost factor for 7.0 upgrade.Because i see the free download is only for 60 day evaluation. For upgradation i need to talk to my management for getting approval i need to atleast show them we cannot do it with the existing 6.0 server with SP6.
I use the default value intially, and i was getting the StackOverFlow error. Some sites suggested in increasing the stacksize value for remedy to StackOverFlow error. So i increased it in an increments of 1MB. And thought this would be the peak value and stopped over there.

  • Webserver setup issue

Attempting to activate Apache webserver. what I've accomplished so far:
Checked Web Sharing - changed httpd.conf file to change root from Library/Webserver/Documents to User/username/Sites - created index.html file and saved to Sites folder. I've also confirmed that I have administrative rights to all folders/directories involved. Problem - when attempt to open index.html in Firefox, the html file content does not show up. I know that the webserver is working however because when I remove index.html from sites directory I can see "Index of" with other files/folders listed. Attempted to change the name of the index.html file as well. Saw the renamed file in "Index of" listing in the browser, but when I clicked on the link, there were no results on the new page when opened. I'm using Textmate to create html file and saving it as a html file.
Any idea why the page is not rendering html content?

I didn't changed anything in httpd.config other than Documentroot and <Directory> to reference Sites folder vs. Webserver/Documents folder.
Regardless, I think you've messed something up there. I can't see any other explanation. If you have a backup that includes the config file(s) you edited, you need to try reverting to an old version from before you made those changes. Go back to the default settings and see if you can get your HTML working in the /Library/WebServer/Documents/ folder. Once you've done that, then try moving the file to your user Sites folder and try accessing it using:
    http://localhost/~username/
Once you've got that working, try editing the config file to change the root.
    Also, earlier you said:
    This is output from http://macintosh
This is not a valid URL for accessing the site on your machine. You need to use http://localhost instead.
