Where else to seek tech support?

When you have a software problem & get 0 replies/help here, where else have you people gone for support?  Any other recommended forums as a 2nd favorite to this official Apple support forum?
Yes, I know I can pay Apple or I can drag my large iMac to an Apple store along with cables & XHD for my current issue.
Trying Mac Rumors & Macworld Forums.
So where else do you go?
Thanks.

Thanks, Link Davis, for your reply.
I think you looked up my recent posts & gave me a link that would help me with the big problem I’m having that I detailed in another post.

  • Where do I get tech support for Micrologic AV?

My software is MicroLogic. Trying to install it on my iBook, OS 9.1. (Would have installed on my iBook G4 but MicroLogic doesn't run on OSX.) In attempting to launch MicroLogic, the program asks me to choose a Midi Connection by going to Option: Settings: MIDI Interface Communication. There, according to the manual (p. 49) a Global Preferences dialog box is to appear, with the setttings "off, USB, Modem, Printer". I am to select one. However, when I actually get to this menu of selections, the settings I am offered are "off, USB Unitor Family (not available), Modem, Printer". Why does the window not match what's in the manual? I am stuck right here at the beginning of the process because I can't select the USB port of my computer, which is the one that's connected to my keyboard. Please help me solve this problem or at least point me to where on the planet I can get tech support; since Emagic was absorbed by Apple there doesn't seem to be any such place. Many thanks.

OMS. If you can still find it. try searching for Opcode OMS (open music system) You need it to run usb midi interfaces in OS9. Good luck, I'd seriously consider getting Logic express.

  • Where to get CP tech support?

We have an issue regarding capacity planner host masking.  We have followed the TID's to disable host masking KB 1004482 but the hosts are still masked in capacity planner.
I sent a support request to cp-provisioning but they say to open a tech support request.  Calling tech support sent me in endless circles.  And i cant open it online as its not listed under my available contracts?
This is very frustrating as I must get this planner report for the customer.
Does anyone have an email or phone number for capacity planner support?

you can send your issue to VMware Fieldtools Support: [email protected]
Please include a detailed description of your issue and include your company name. Also attach any logfiles, screenshots other other relevant data to your email.

  • Seeking tech support for my IdeaPad U160

I bought my U160 from China three years ago. Now it generates heat severely. After turning on for one minute, the CPU temperature can reach 120 degree. Now I estimate the CPU heat sink glue may have been done. Therefore I wonder whether I can an instruction for internal constitution so that I can trade the heat sink glue by myself. Also I hope to get the service station contact which is in Burbank or Los Angeles.

  • Has anyone else recently dealt inept Adobe Tech Support?

This an email I sent to this woman's supervisor:
I’m writing to let you know that your tech support person, Anumeha, solved my problem. She was the only one that could! She is an asset to your company.
Give her a raise in pay. Take her to lunch. Do somehing nice for her. Thank you.
That being said, I’d like to explain how the rest of the tech support people I dealt with on Monday, February 10, were not as good as she was. Not even close.
I had to spend my entire day and into the evening before I was lucky enough to connect with Annmeha.
I’ve attached screen grabs off my iPhone show how much time was wasted, until Anumeha. You’ll see that I was on the phone for 356 minutes / 5.9 hours.
It started at 10:31 in the morning and the problem was resolved at 8:00 pm. Three different techs had me uninstall my CC software and then reinstall it and you know how time that takes.
I got so I could tell the tech what folder we were going to next. They would ask me how I knew this. I told them that previous techs had me do the same thing. It was maddening.
What I don’t understand is how no one could fix my problem with Creative Cloud, until Anumeha entered the picture. I have been using Mac since 1987 and Photoshop since version 1 in 1990.
    I understand how computers work.
Once again, my entire day and evening was consumed by Adobe's inept tech support staff. I don’t know what else to say, other that I am very disappointed in Adobe.
Adobe makes the best software, in my opinion, in the world, but I feel that Adobe tech support is not the great tech support it used to be.
Feel free to pass this along to anyone that might be able to help tech support be better.

    Hi oddstick,
We are so sorry for this frustrating experience. I will be sure to pass this on to our Quality Initiative team. Is there anything we can do to help you at this point?
    Let us know.
    Thanks,
    Madison

  • Where is the Tech Support for Crystal Reports

Where is the technical support for Crystal Reports?  I have just been through one of the worst technical supports circles in my entire career - this phone# to that phone# and only to be told you cannot talk to a Tech Support person.  My dilema for anyone that can help - I am using Crystal Report 2008.  I have mapped to a database in MS Access 2002.  I copied the database to my desktop and created a test report.  I can see the fields in the Field Explorer.  I have dragged the fields onto the report and they are visible in Design View.  I can see the data in the fields when I browse the fields.  In the Preview View I do not see any data what-so-ever.  I have not changed any defaults and have not suppressed or hidden information.  The $1M question:  Why can't I see the data on my report?  I never had the problem when I used Crystal Reports v8.

The datasource shows my database.  I believe that is what you meant.  No data.  IT has asked me to ask ? if in the Control Panel DSN if we need some information there.  I don't have a clue - I am just a report writer and not an IT person.

  • No one is helping me.  Where is tech support?!!

No one is helping me.  Where is tech support?!!

    Hi,
There are different ways to view your pictures, catalog view, folder view or collections view.
Catalog is just info on all the images stored in its database, previous import is just that, a quick way of locating the files you previously imported.
Folders is just all the different locations that images are stored for lightroom.
Collections are just collections of pictures based on metadata.
They are all the same pictures just different ways to find them.
Have a look at the lightroom queens free quick start guide, http://www.lightroomqueen.com/free-ebook/lr5/

  • Anyone else haveing a problem with appointments not syncing, duplicate appointments when syncing with Outlook? Also, noticed that my primary SMTP disappeared, and I had to re-establish to send e-mail. Apple tech support was worthless.

Anyone else haveing a problem with appointments not syncing, duplicate appointments when syncing with Outlook? Noticed the problem a couple of days ago.
Also, noticed that my primary SMTP disappeared, and I had to re-establish to send e-mail.
Apple tech support was worthless on both issues.

Hi I am also in the UK, but not with Tiscali and am having the exact same problems. I can also send with wifi, but not 3G. I have tried amending all sorts of settings, including those above and amending the smtp server to the settings for my provider, but all to no avail.
It is thoroughly frustrating, as I cannot send emails unless I have wifi access.
Any further suggestions would be very welcome.

  • Where do I go to update an existing tech support issue?

Spoke with tech support by phone earlier this morning - I have a case number - but where do I go to input more information or update my progress?

I had to chat with support to get a url to access support tickets.  Go figure.  After you log in, go here:

After I installed mountain lion my back button frequently does not work because the prior screen does not appear iunder History.  Apple tech support was not able to fix the problem.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

You don't in the condition it's in. You will either have to get the phone replaced by Apple or pay a 3rd party to repair it.
there seriously should be more than two ways to solve this other wise apple is useless and we will never buy another apple product.
    Seriously? It's physically broken!

  • Where the heck is Apple TEch Support Here?

The number of connectivity issues with Windows appears to me to be significant, and connecting should not be this hard.
I have an original iPod, 2 minis and my daughter a new 4gb Nano - which for the life of me I cannot get connected to windows.
All I can say is that the level of tech support on these boards *****.

Problem no1: I did win my iPod... So no vendor help
Problem no2: I cannot install the software and therefore cannot register online, see here for details:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=273772&tstart=0
Problem no3: My package did not contain any form i could fill and send in to register, there is also no email or phone number on my documentation!!! So even after reading Complimentary Support there is no way for me to get help...

  • Very strange Issue, and cannot find a reasonable solution or Tech Support help / Will PAY for HELP !!

So, without going into great details that cannot reasonably be explained, the scenario goes a little like this:
When editing a PDF, and with nothing else open on the computer, Adobe Acrobat Pro XI tends to "hang up" and become unresponsive. The only plausible solution is to force command and restart Acrobat in hopes it will open correctly the next time. Sometimes this works, other times - nope .. Does not resolve the problem. So - can anyone recommend a solution? I have contacted help and they had to to delete a Adobe Preference file, and this seemed to work while I still had them on live chat. Once offline, it happened again.
Here is the really weird thing, I thought that I fixed the issue (as I am doing this for my boss on his Macbook Pro) and was able to quickly edit a PDF .. but when I handed the computer over to him - literally in only 2 minutes - he proceeded to edit the same document and was not able to. He got the never ending rotating circle of death
So - that is problem #1
Problem #2 is with the inability my boss has to use CC offline. I have personally reconnected to our CC account and verified all settings, and when I perform my tests at the office, everything seems fine and all programs work as should. However, he is now on business travel and says the "Trial Expired" keeps popping up. What is going on? This is literally frustrating him and me with what little knowledge I can assist with resolving the trial expired issue. How many days can you be offline with CC? Tech support says up to 99 days .. Clearly 4 days is ridiculous and I am not able to duplicate the scenario when I have his computer but what would it work for me and not him?
I just need to resolve this whole Adobe Acrobat issue as to finally get it resolved and fixed once and for all.
BTW, called in outside computer help from a local company - and the computer guy was working to get it fixed, but it seems even with live chat or phone support - it has now been escalated to Tech Support 2 .. This make any sense or logic? I believe he has uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat and now it is only creating more issues. I think he tried to install a trial version and activate the subscription but it failed.
Any HELP? We are desperate and I'll even pay via PayPal to get a resolution to this problem if any recommendation leads to a solid solution. Guaranteed !!

Actually I also noticed that usual heat with wifi and game play.. However this was extreme heat. I wasn't able to hold it for long time and had to drop it.
So can that bulge can be ignored and should I start using it back again. Though that bulge appeared after that heating issue.
Beside the hardware, safety would be my bigger concern. Perhaps because I have heard few incidents with mobile phones where battery generated heat and caused some defect in bodies and continued use resulted in a blast in battery causing physical harm.
So if its advised to try it by charging 100% and monitoring backup time or any other advise.

  • How can I get some Tech Support?

I am new to the world of Apple. IPod drew me in. Since I upgraded to iTunes6 the investment appears to be a bad one. I have tried to seek support on the Apple Dicusssions. The best advice someone could offer was buy a Mac. Not the best advice to offer a Windows user when frustrated with lack of Apple resources.
Is there a paid support I can access? I don't mind paying if someone for sure knows what they are doing. I imagine most of the folks on the Discussion Forums are voluntary Apple Users. Where are the Tech Support people? I wish someone could ask me some intelligent questions and offer me a diagnosis to the problem, atleast.
Many users in their kindness I must admit attempted to help but quickly dropped this hot potato.

    Here's the update:
I was able to get iTunes launched (with the help of Tech Support) in a very unsafe environment. I owe it to those who may need this after me. It will get you going, but you will be extremely vulnerable to internet virus assaults. Please do not use this approach, until you have exhausted every other available solution for your issue in the KB.
There are three Steps 1) Uninstall 2) Disble and 3) Reinstall.
UNISTALL Uninstall iTunes using Windows utility Add Remove Program available in Control Panel.
DISABLE Disable all third party System Services and Startup Items using using MSCONFIG utility as described in Service Document http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302538
    RE-INSTALL Re-install iTunes6 + QT7. Launch it under the Selective Startup Option.
It worked ! You realize among other things at this point you have your Antivirus and Firewall disabled. When I started my computer in the Normal Startup Option, iTunes fails to work again. So I have ahead of me the long and ardous task of ruling out the service that is causing conflict with iTunes6. Then work with the software vendor to arrive at a solution.
