Wrong CDP data in Campus Manager

Hi,
we have a LMS 3.2 in a Windows server. In Campus Manager, some CDP neighbours are shown as wrong. In some cases they are shown with their IP address instead of their name (they are added in DCR with their name!!) and in other cases, the neighbour is other device different than the real one.
What is the reason for this behaviour?

Sounds like either a bug, or bad data in the ani database. I haven't seen any topology problems yet in our 3.2 installations, so it could be something in your topology has messed up the database. Make sure all devices have a unique sysName (i.e. hostname+domain name). If not, then you can get similar behavior to what you are describing.

I am running LMS 3.2 and Campus Manager 5.2.1.  My data collection in Campus  Manger for my devices does not complete and runs indefinitely.  It has been hung in the "running" state for the past week and will not complete.  I only way I found to get it out of the "running" state is to reset the ANIServer service and reboot the server.  I have had this problem since I have upgraded to LMS 3.2.  Does anyone have any input of this issue or possible solutions?

The data collection hung again as expected over the weekend.  The ANI.log file grew to 1.8 GB again.  It is to large for me to open it.  I could try to split it up into smaller files.  What should be my next course of action?

  • Campus Manager No Data Collected from Network

Just intergraged CiscoWorks with ACS.  Now when we select Campus Manager | Visualization | Topology Services we get the following error message:
    No Data Collected from Network
1.Devices are not availiable from DCR or
2.You have not performed data collection at least once
When we look at Common Services | Devices and Credentials | Device Discovery the total devices discovered and the devices reachable indicate there are devices that were found.
We could see devices fine before the ACS intergration but now, we cannot see any devices.
    Any thoughts?

The devices (original clients) that I defined are as follows:
    10.0.1.*
    10.0.10.*
    10.0.2.*
I was able to see these clients.  Deleted the above clients from ACS and added:
    10.0.1-10.*
So that I can see the above clients and others (10.0.3.*, 10.0.4.*,etc).
I can still see the original clients only.  The others show up in Devices not configured in ACS report.
What do I need to do?  What did I miss?

Hi iv added iCloud to my iphone5 and by doing so I've now lost all contacts, photos and also my iMessage please can someone help me to restore my phone back to how it was before doing this? I went to backup and chose wrong backup date and I'm now stuck. This is driving me mad PLEASE someone help??

As far as I know you can't delete the primary email address for an iCloud account.  It's assigned when the account is created.  But your neighbor wouldn't have been able to get into your iCloud account without your Apple ID and password.  Are you sure the account wasn't still on your phone when you gave it to him?
You could migrate a copy of your data to a new iCloud account but I would still be concerned that someone else was using my old account, which presumably still has your data in it.
I'm fairly certain that you're going to have to have iCloud support help you sort this one out as they may have the ability to make changes to an existing account that users can't.  Make an appointment with the genius bar at a nearby Apple store and have them take a look at it.  If necessary, they should be able to contact iCloud support for you.

  • LMS 3.2 Campus Manager Topology Issue with C450X-E

We replaced catalysts catOS 6509 by c4503-E and C4506-E in the network.
Since that replacement, 2 links gigaethernet bundled in an etherchannel disappeared from Campus Manager Topology maps (vtp and layer maps).
These links were drawn with 6509 in the old maps but not now with 450X-E.
We have also 235 other switches without any problems.
The links are up and each switch is seeing its neighbour by cdp on each link. No discrepancies found for these links.
I have done a reinit of ANI database by reinitdb.pl -restore and restart a complete discovery and data collection.
    The issue is the same.
Campus Manager Version is 5.2.1 with CSCtd49439 installed
    CMDeviceUpdate Version is 13.0
    C450X-E IOS version is 12.2(53)SG2
In the file "campus\etc\cwsi\portsData.xml"  the links do not appear that means they are not discovered.
In Device Center, each switch is seeing the other switch as a neighbour.
Do someone has any idea on that issue ?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    I have the same problem.
I'm sorry but I'm not used to the TAC and I can't find where I can download the patch.
Can you tell me what is the procedure to get this patch ?
    thank in advance

  • FWSM missing under Campus Manager Device Management

    Hello everyone,
We are running LMS 3.2 with CM, CS, RME, etc. patched to the latest release.
Under Campus Manager -> Admin -> Data Collection -> Device Management -> Include Devices, all available devices have been added. However, our Firewall Service Module (and some other ones) are missing from the list of included devices.
The FWSM is listed under DCR and RME though. It passes and runs inventory collections and SNMP credential checks. The FWSM is running code version 4.1(1).
Is this normal behavior or should it be possible to add it to the list in CM?
    Thank you.

Yes, this is expected.  Campus Manager does not support firewall devices like the FWSM, PIX, and ASA as they do not support CDP.

  • How to create the custom infotypes in Campus Management

    Hi,
Please help me how to create the custom infotypes in campus management.
    Thanks,
    Lakshmi.

    Hi,
Steps to create a HR Infotype:
    1) Go to Transaction PM01.
    2) Enter the custom Infotype number which you want to create (Should be a 4 digit number, start with 9).
    3) Select the 'Employee Infotype' radio button.
    4) Select the 'PS Structure Infotype'.
    5) Click on Create... A separate table maintenance window appears...
    6) Create a PS structure with all the fields you want on the Infotype
    7) Save and Activate the PS structure
    8) Go back to the initial screen of PM01.
    9) Click on 'All' push button. It takes a few moments.
    10) Click on 'Technical Characteristics'. Infotype list screen appears
    11) Click on 'Change'(pencil) button
    12) Select your Infotype and click on 'Detail' (magnifying glass) button
    13) Give 'T591A' as subtype table
    14) Give 'T591S' as subtype txt tab
    15) Give your subtype field as subtype field
    16) Save and come back to PM01 initial screen
    17) Click on 'Infotype Characteristics' ... Infotype list screen appears
    18) Click on 'Change' (pencil) button
    19) Click on 'New Entries'
    20) Enter your Infotype number and short text
    21) Here we have to set different Infotype Characteristics as per the requirement. (Better open another session with some standard Infotype's infotype characteristics screen and use as the reference to fill yours)
    22) Save your entries.
    23) Now the Infotype is created and ready to use.
    24) If you want to change the layout of the Infotype as per your requirement...
    25) In the PM01 initial screen...Select 'Screen' radio button and give 2000 as the screen name, then click on edit.
    26) In the next screen.. Select 'Layout Editor' and click 'Change'.
    27) Screen default layout appears...here you can design/modify the screen..change the attributes of the fields..etc.
    28) Save and activate. (Don't forget to 'Activate at every level)
    Subtype Creation :
Transaction PM01 Goto Subtype Characteristics. Click on Append and then subtype. Enter the name and description of subtype on screen.
Then goto technical Characteristics and maintain the details of subtype there. I.e name of subtype i.e. component name defined in PSnnnn. Subtype table is T591A.
Subty.text tab is T591S and time const tab is T591A.

  • AniServer Campus Manager problem

Hi I recently ran a Device patch update and ever since I have had major problems with Campus Manager.
I figured it was Aniserver related So i have done the following so far:
1- I reinitialised the ANI Database
2 - I replaced the aniserv.properties with the .orig file.
Still the problems exist even if i managed to get the Aniserver started campus manager data collection would have problems and intermittent error messages when trying to access Campus Manager admin pages.
    3 - I decided to upgrade to LMS3.2 SP1
It seemed to be ok with data collection but then when I came in to work today it hadnt run any scheduled aquistions when i went tinto the admin pages I had the error messages again unable to get properties from server.
4 I decided to try a complete restore of the database to a date before the initial device package update.
But I still have problems with the aniserver Failed to run.
    Please Help!!
    Kind regards Dean
    Here is the Ani log

Seems to be working fine now I used the info in the following link to reinitialise the ani.db  https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2083513
Using this alone did not fix it opt/CSCOpx/bin/perl /opt/CSCOpx/bin/dbRestoreOrig.pl dsn=ani dmprefix=ANI
But doing this as well seemed to sort it:
First, set the CiscoWorks Daemon Manager service to Manual, and reboot the server.  When the server reboots, delete NMSROOT\databases\ani\ani.log if it exists.  Then run:
    NMSROOT\objects\db\win32\dbsrv9 -f NMSROOT\databases\ani\ani.db
After that, set the Daemon Manager service back to Automatic, and reboot again

  • Campus manager user tracking problem

Hi We are using LMS 3.0.1 and the campus manager verson is 5.0.2. We have two subnet which are used for the management ip of switch kept in two different geographical areas. I have made the entry of all devices kept in both subnets and all the devices are know device in DCR, RME and DFM. also after data collection the devices are shown in campus manager database. But I am not able to learn the end host details of the hosts connected to one of our segment.
even if the perticular subnet is not appearing in "campus user tracking" as well as the devices belongs to the subnet. but I am getting all end host details from the second subnet.
    please help.

    Hi clarke,
i have updated the cm to the latest but still it did not learn. Later i added the 10.188.7.x ip addresses manually in the discovery settings instead of " *.*.*.* " - ip range. Now i am able to see these devices in topology view > layer 2 veiw as connected devices & not seen in unconnected..
Now i need to see the hostname, ip address etc details of these segments in UT acquisition window.... Secondly in topology view, the core switch is showing in "?" question mark symbol. This device is WS-C6509-E (sup-bootdisk:s72033-ipbase-mz.122-33.SXH3a.bin). I tried to delete this device from common services and added it again, there i selected "ws-c6509", i did not see the " ws-c6509-E".
in Cisco site, the serial number of the device is showing as the device "VS-C6509E-S720-10G"
Can u pls help me on this..
    regards

  • Campus Manager User Tracking Report - dot1xEnabled = False

The Campus Manager User Tracking Report has the dot1xEnabled field that is always false.
It was my understanding that the switch will send SNMP Trap Notifications to Cisco Works regarding the status of 802.1x authentication per port.
    We have configured per port:
    snmp trap mac-notification added
    snmp trap mac-notification removed
    and globally
    snmp-server host x.x.x.x  abababa udp-port 1431 MAC-Notification
With no success, so we opened a TAC case, 614376387 and we were told by TAC and the Development Engineers that this "feature" does not work in LMS 3.2 and Campus Manager 5.2.1 and that this feature will be available in the next new release.
I thought I had read on this forum that some folks have this 'feature' working, where this field shows the current status of 802.1x per access port.
Has anyone been able to get this 'feature' to work?  And if so, what versions are you running and what were the 'tricks' to get it working?
    Much appreciated.

The MAC address notification traps only alert Campus to the fact that a MAC address has been learned or removed from a given port.  That starts the dynamic UT process.  With no other information, you will potentially see a new record appear in UT shortly after receiving the trap.  However, that record will not have IP or username data associated with it.
To get the IP data, Campus will poll the CISCO-DHCP-SNOOPING-MIB to pull IP data.  To get username data, Campus will poll the IEEE8021-PAE-MIB of the switch to get dot1x information.  So, your switch must be configured for dot1x, and it must support this MIB (in particular, the objects dot1xAuthSessionTime, dot1xAuthSessionUserName, and dot1xPaePortCapabilities).
Without dot1x, hope is not lost.  If the end host is running Windows and the UTLite tool, then when the user logs in, UTLite should start from their logon script, and send a UDP update to Campus with the username and IP of the host.

  • Unexpected Campus Manager Behaviour

    Hi all,
I recently installed LMS 3.2 (and the latest updates for CM, RME and HUM) and am experiencing some really strange behaviour in Campus Manager.
After running a data acquisition job, the campus manager portal lists 41 devices (as expected), and I see a number of Best Practice Deviations, etc.
When I click on the Best Practice Deviations, it generates the details in the report as expected, however, when I click on the number of devices (the hyperlink in the main CM portal page) I get the message below:
No devices managed in Campus Manager. Run Data Collection and launch  again.
I imported the list of devices from our ACS database into DCR successfully and verified all the connectivity through RME (I'm getting good config backups so I know the DCR objects and credentials are correct), and the deviations and discrepancies reports work properly, however, I'm a little confused as to what I missed in terms of telling CM WHICH devices to manage?
In the device selection, I have it set to Auto Mode, and have selected "All Devices".
However when I go to the "Include Devices" section, all of the groups are empty. Even if I click on "All Devices" the number of selected devices shown is always zero. (ie: it's like CM doesn't see ANY devices in the DCR)
But really strange is when I go to the "Excluded Devices" and click on "All Devices", it shows the 41 devices in the selected list??
I thought I'd pose the question here before getting TAC involved, thanks in advance for any insight you can provide!

Ok Joe, a fresh install on a Wins2K3 server netted me the exact same result.
    ANI logs are attached.
Here's the steps I followed for the install:
    1. Install OS and apply all Windows updates.
    2. Install LMS and reboot as required.
    3. Install Campus Manager 5.2.1 Update
    4. Install RME 4.3.1 Update
    5. Install HUM 1.2.1 Update
    6. Install CSCta13528-1.0 patch for CiscoView
    7. Reboot server
    8. Log into LMS Portal as admin, run Server Setup through Workflows
8.1 Create new system identity (to be used for ACS integration later)
8.2. Setup Device Credential Sets / Policies
8.3. Import devices from Remote NMS (ACS)
8.4 Allocate device to CM, RME, DFM, IPM
8.5 Skip ACS Mode Change (Planned on doing this later)
        8.5 Finish Server Setup
    9. Access DCR from Common Services and delete 2 device entries (there are 2 devices in ACS DB that have AAA entries for both RADIUS and TACACS, "SEC-AP-G_RADIUS / "SEC-AP-G_TACACS" so I delete the RADIUS objects from DCR)
    10. Rename 2 devices in DCR (delete the "_TACACS" from the display name)
    11. Access Campus Manager, try to run Data Collection, task starts/stops immediately (maybe a second or two)
    12. Click on the "5 Devices" in the result column and get the message that there are no devices managed by Campus Manager.
Logs are attached, please feel free to comment if my steps above are incorrect.

  • Campus Manager states devices "not managed"

Hi, I have the following ciscoworks installation:
LMS 3.1.1 and Campus Manager 5.0.5
I have disabled auto mode and manually included my devices which are all in the DCR, i've also checked all the device snmp credentials. After performing a data collection most devices still show up as not managed. Of several 6500's and 7200's only 1 is showing as managed. What can I do to fix this?  thx
P.S the abovementioned devices are in my include list. They are not in the exclude list

It could be that Data Collection is not completing properly.  Post the ani.log after running a Data Collection.
