1 Portal, 2 SRM systems

Hi.
I've given up with setting up for Users to log on to 2 different Clients on the same SRM system from the same Portal.
Can you set up Portals to allow Users to use 2 different SRM systems from the same Portal? I'll worry about SSO later.
To put this in context, I'm not skilled in Portals and need to know if what I request is possible/impossible for a 3rd party Portals resource to undertake.
Cheers,
Matt.

absolutely you can ...... you need to have 2 separate system connectors to do it and clearly since you cannot have one peice of content accessing more than one backend system/client at once you may need to duplicate your content also.
You would also need to find a way to ensure the users know which client they are using at any one time - but if you are using sapgui for example you can see this information on screen.
A portal developer will have no problem with this activity.

  • How do I create a new shopping cart in the SRM system (not portal)

    Hi,
I'm working on a test landscape with Purchase request WF. I want to create a new shopping cart from the SAP system, not from the portal, and this purchase request should go to a manager approval.
I've been told that I need a SRM system.
Could you please tell me what the transaction for creating new shopping cart is? Could you also explain me what to do with this transaction or point to a doc I can learn from?
    Thanks

it is called planned driven procurement scenario in SRM
    ECC box
    1. create a Purchase request
    2. Approve the Purchase request
    3. now check EPRTRANS table . you might have Purchase request number ( if you have already set up done in ECC system for Plan driven procurement)
    4. Run BBP_EXTREQ_TRANSFER job
    SRM Box..
    5. Now you can see your shopping cart for this purchase request (External requirement) in the sourcing cockpit.

  • Two SRM system in the same Portal

    Dear Guru,
we need your support for the following question.
I'm working with SRM 7 and ECC in a extended classic scenario. SRM is available thorugh the portal. For training activity we need to have another copy of SRM and ECC system. It is possible to connect in the same time two SRM system in the unique portal?
    Thanks a lot.
    Best Regards
    Giuseppe

    Hello Giuseppe,
As per the standard , there is no possibility to work on twins SRM system at the same time on Portal. And as Ivy Li mentioned  that all SRM IViews have system alias as SAP_SRM which points to 1 system at a time  . Now as per your saying twins  SRM system with unique portal which will also create a problem as most of the time the portal navigation would be locked. Now again while uploading the WDA package for SRM portal your data's might get effect if you are showing your actual data in your training session. If you find then there could be many reasons.

  • Steps to integrate SRM  system and portal?

    Hi Gurus,
I am working on EP 7.0 ow i got a requirement to integrate Portal system with SRM system.
Kindly send me the step by step approach of the same.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Dharani

    Hi,
In order to integrate SRM system with portal system download two business packages for SRM  BP for SRM and BP for Supplier Collaboration from SDN Content Portfolio:
(https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/contentportfolio) and then deploy these on EP 7.0 server with the help of software deployment manager onto the enterprise portal server. When download these business packages you get online documentation which explains detailed steps.
    Hope it helps.

  • Unable to create a PO in SRM system

During cretion of PO in SRM system we are encountering the following situation:
Prior to that we have configured all the initial settings as below:
"Defining System landscape" on SRM side,(which updates the table BBP_BACKEND_DEST) we have defined it as type ERP_4.0 as we currently have an EhP4 backend .
We are getting the error msg: No customizing entry for "SRICLNT801' in table BBP_BACKEND_DEST when I try to create a PO in SRM Portal.
The following entries in BBP_BACKEND_DEST Table (this table is updated when Defining the System Landscape config) looks as below.
    For Backend ECC Clnt - 801, Log System - ERICLNT801, RFC Destn - ERICLNT801 , RFC Dialog - ERICLNT801_DIALOG,  Sys type -ERP_4.0
    For SRM local clnt - 801, Log System - SRICLNT801,  RFC Destn - SRICLNT801 ,  RFC Dialog - SRICLNT801, Sys type -LOCAL
Any clue on this ?? Its been a while now and i have no idea why is this occuring??

    Hi there,
I had a further look at our database. Please see the following information.
in case of ECC EHP 4.0 the use of PI is mandatory. However, on your
on risk and keeping in mind that this is kind of a modification, you
could change the backend sys-type in table BBP_BACKEND_DEST back to
ERP_3.0; a further option would be to create an implementation in
the BADI BBP_DRIVER_DETERMINE, to call a customer own driver during the
transfer of documents to the backend.
    1) In case you run a EHP 4 in backend, you need to set system
type ERP_4.0 in table bbp_backend_dest, which requires the use
       of PI.
    2) As prerequisite for activitaing LOG_MM_P2PSE_1, you need to have
EhP 4 installed in your ECC system, also the following business
       functions need to be activated:
       ESOA_OPS01, LOG_ESOA_OPS_2 and LOG_MM_CI_2
(please also check the information and documentation about the BF
       in your backend ECC system)
    Hope this helps,

  • Create Purchasing Contracts on SAP SRM system

    Hi all,
I need to know how can I create purchasing contracts on SRM system: I must do it only through web portal or can I create them through SRM Transactions? What are the transactions which allow me to do this?
    Thanks in advance, best regards,
    Maria

    Hi Maria,
In addition to what Masa has replied, the system does not allow the transaction to be processed in GUI once it is classified as Easy web transaction.
BBP_CTR_MAIN is the transaction for Processing contracts. You can maintain the transaction using SE93 txn code.
If you click on display button you can see that the transaction is classified as Easy web transaction by activating the radio button.Once this setting is deactivated the transaction can be processed in GUI.
You can test the transaction by clicking on the Test icon on the menu bar.
Hope this makes you more clear.
    Award points for helpful answers.

Now, Under the 'Supplier Portal Administration'->'System Integration' Workset, There are 4 iViews which talks about the JCO, Integration to BP.
    1. JCO Client Maintanance
    2. External JCO connection configuration
    3. Application maintenance
    4. System type configuration
I searched for documentation in tthe sap.help.com, sdn, service.sap.com but nowhere anyone mentioned the step-by-step details.
Could anyone please let me know how integrate Backend to BP of Supplier Collaboration 2.0 with JCO's using the BP iViews.

  • What is the best approach to capture TBOM's for a SAP SRM system/functionality?

    Hello SCN Community,
It would be much appreciated if somebody could share some information about the following....
What is the best approach to create TBOM's for a SAP SRM system? The SRM functionality is basically consisting out of multiple ABAP Web Dynpro's that are connected as a process via a SAP Portal (as is understand it). The entrypint to the SRM functionality is via the SAP Portal.
Do I first have to create a link to the Portal via an SAP Web Application link in SOLAR01 and then start recording? Will it record only the portal objects or also the ABAP Web Dynpro objects?
Do I have to list all the separate ABAP Web Dynpro's in SOLAR01 and use those as a starting point?
I am myself more familair with more classical SAP ABAP ECC systems and transactions.  I could hardly find any information on the use of BPCA and the required TBOM's in the area of SRM.... Any help would be much appreciated!

  • SRM system copy

    Hello All,
One of our IT partners has got an SAP SRM implementation and we need to set up our own SRM system as a copy of the partner's SRM system.
How can we do this? What system copy approach we can follow? Will DB restore work?
During the copy will it ask for any hardware/software keys?
Do we need to seperately buy the licenses ?
Our OS/DB is going to be different from that of the partner.
Please give me a high level idea.
    Regards
    Arun

    Arun,
Check below sap notes, links & details.
SAP Note 547314 FAQ: System Copy procedure
    SAP Note 89188 - R/3 System copy
    System Copy and Migration
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/b055e88d-f040-2a10-e390-862b4aedb339
    System Refresh
How can we do this? What system copy approach we can follow? Will DB restore work?
You can do this by homogeneous system copy. Yes DB restore method will work.
During the copy will it ask for any hardware/software keys?
No it will not ask for any keys(Homogeneous system copy not sure about heterogeneous system copy)
Do we need to separately buy the licenses ?
    No
Our OS/DB is going to be different from that of the partner
The copy of an SAP system to another hardware is called a system copy. If the target system will run on a different operating system (OS) and/or a different database system (DB) than the source system, then this is called a heterogeneous system copy or OS/DB migration. Check below link for detail
    https://websmp108.sap-ag.de/osdbmigration
    Note 82478 - SAP system OS/DB migration
You can download system copy guide from below link
    https://websmp203.sap-ag.de/instguides.
Homogeneous System Copy:-During the system copy you use the same operating system and database platform as the original
    system.
Heterogeneous System Copy:-During the system copy, you change either the operating system or the database system, or both.
Heterogeneous system copy is a synonym for migration.
System Copy :-Duplication of an SAP system. Certain SAP parameters might change in a copy. When you
perform a system copy, SAPinst installs all the instances again, but it uses a copy of the source
system database to set up the database.
Database Copy :-Database-dependent part of the system copy.
    Hope this helps

  • SRM Master data - Starters(New employee) and leavers(existing employee) process and updates to SRM system

    Hi Team,
What is the process when New employee Join the Organization and how it updates to SRM System?
What is the process when existing employee Leaves the Organization and how it updates to SRM System?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Rameshwar.

    Hi Rameshwar,
The process and approach may differ organization to organization.
However, let me tell you what process we follow -
    1.     Whenever the New employee or User joins organization it is automatically updated in the Idm (Identity management system). Hope you are aware of this application.
    2.     The User who wants access to SRM as the end user will apply for the specified roles (Portal roles for Portal access & SAP roles for shopping) through Idm. The Idm is connected to the SRM system and whenever there is a addition / change/ update in Idm it will also update the SRM system.
    3.     Only for SAP Approver roles we have WORKFLOW setup in Idm.So that the user is created in the SRM system with specified approver roles only after approval is completed in Idm.
For Requester role there is normal workflow.
    4. Once it is approved, the user is created in the SRM system and we can check in SU01D
    5.     This is User creation centrally. However, if you have admin access you can also directly create in SRM using SU01 transaction.
    6.     Once the user is created with specified roles, we need to manually put the user in PPOMA orgnaization strcuture.
    7.    Same procedure is followed when the employee is left the organization.
    8. Throught IDm we remove all the authorization to SRM. however the user gets deleted in SRM but the Assignment still remains in the PPOMA. Which the consultant has to delete it manually.
    9. Hope this process helps you in some way.
    Thanks.

    Snehal

    Hi Tejas,
    Thank You for ur response.
I am deploying on SRM server with WAS 7.0 so I guess that is not the reason. If you can notice in the error it is trying to find some container which it is not able to find. Do you have any hint what this container is??
Also i would like to know what is the content of the SRMMDM20SP02_2_BP_SRM_MDM.sca. Does it gives us a UI like the Configuration UI?? If so can u please send me the link via which i can access it coz i didn't find any such link in the documents.

  • Creation of backend contract from SRM system?

    Dear Experts,
I am bit confused with the scenario of creation of backend contract from SAP SRM system? It says in few cases, based on the BAdi 'BBP_DETERMINE_Logsys', the system creates a backned contract directly in a backend ERP system. Why do we need when we have central contract?
We can meet the same requirement through central contract where we will authorize only purchasing organizations of a backend system and block the contract for local sourcing in SRM?
Secondly, How to find a contract / scheduling agreement created in a backend system when a central contract is distributed to the backend system?
    Thanks and regards,
    Ranjan

    Hello Ranjan
    question on contracts?
Note 1476307 - Importing parameter not filled in BADI BBP_DETERMINE_LOGSYS
in classic scenario , The Business wanted to create a contract from cockpit or via BID
    this BADI helps
    Symptom
You have implemented BAdi BBP_DETERMINE_LOGSYS to control the system in which contract is created in following scenarios:
    1. Creation of contract from an accepted quote / bid.
    2. Creation of contract from a requisition in SOCO.
In the method IF_EX_BBP_DETERMINE_LOGSYS~CONTRACT_LOGSYS_DETERMINE of the BAdi implementation, importing parameter IT_ORG doesnot have any values.

  • Automatic Replication of Vendors from SAP R/3 Backend System to SRM System

    Hi All,
I am searching for any existing standard configuration in SRM V 4.0 System for replicating Vendors of selected Purchasing Organizations from SAP R/3 Backend System to SRM System.
I have checked in the SPRO  settings of SRM System and found/could make out from the documentation avalable in help itself, that there is a standard configuration by which you can automatically replicate the Vendors created in SAP R/3 by activating the following in SPRO: By putting a tick mark against the Check Box existing against "Create New Vendors also"  under Vendor Synchronization with Make Global Settings I hope.
If the above statement is correct, then I hope we have to schedule a job ,since the above configuration is based on a job based execution which should run at least once a day.
In that case, which would be the relevant job which has to be created WITH A VARIANT in order to filter the Purchasing Organizations desired for.
Please help me out since we have to implement this asap. And if the above solution is not at all feasible, then please do reply at the earliest.
Awaiting for your early reply .

  • Determine linked SRM system in ECC

    Hi All,
I need to be able to determine the linked SRM system from ECC in order to call a function module in SRM to return the URL for SRM to ECC to allow a workitem in ECC to contain a link to SRM.
Table BBPC_RFC_DEST seems to hold a link but I've never seen this table used, does anyone know what this table is used for? The config help says:
Definition of RFC Connections for Resource-Related Billing

In this IMG activity, you define which connected SRM Systems are relevant for resource-related billing.
Enter the logical system and the RFC destination.
    Requirements
The connected SRM System must be Release 5.0 or higher.
but would populating this table alone activate something else?
Alternatively does anyone else have any other suggestions for retreiving the URL for SRM from ECC other than creating a custom table to hold the information.
    Regards
    Chris

    Hi all,
perhaps I need to clairfy my question.
I know how to find the URL in SRM, my requirement is to be able to work out the URL of the linked SRM system from within ECC.
I have a couple of ideas such as call a function mdoule in SRM to read the user arrtibutes which will give me the URL for system. To do this I need to first determine the RFC destination for the linked SRM system, I think I can do this by populated table BBPC_RFC_DEST in ECC. However I sdon't know if popualtign this table in ECC will have any other implications?
Does anyone know what the implications of populating table BBPC_RFC_DEST in ECC arE?
or does anyone have an alternative soltuion for determining the URL for the linked SRM system from within ECC?
