Actionable emails and WorkListApp

Friends,
One quick question.
When I select option "Make email messages actionable" in Notification Settings on Task Screen, the emails have become actionable and responses too are working fine. But I'm not able to see the assigned task in WorkListApp even before I send the Email Response. If the manager wants to approve the task he has to open the worklistapp from the link given in email for worklistapp. This complies me to approve/reject task only thru emails only. I mean if email server is down for some stipulated time, the email delivery and so the responses are getting delayed.
Any idea why the task not coming in WorkListApp when we do login to worklistapp? What may be the solution ?
Thanks.

  • Is remedial action needed if you click a link in an unsolicited 'scam-looking' email and the link went 404?

    Mac Mini 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo; 2GB memory; OS X 10.6.8. Incident occurred while using Firefox 35.0.
    The latest/most current discussions I can find are from 2013 or older. Assuming more than a year is plenty of time for "new" malware or even "virus" that can affect Macs to be developed and distributed, I can either assume that "no news is good news"-- 'no new malware/virus possibilities' for Mac, or swallow my pride and ask the question: Is there any malware or other harmful/malicious computer code--read, something that could steal my identity if/when I do my taxes online this year--currently known to be a threat to home non-business Mac computers?
    I ask because I committed the sin of all sins.....I got an unusual email from a vendor from whom I made one purchase (on ebay, a few months ago), asking me to loan "him" a sizable amount of money so he could "pay his hotel and retrieve his passport" while stranded in a foreign country. A very clear and not particularly uncommon scam method.....another flavor of the "grandma I'm in jail in Mexico" scam......and I'm one who constantly wonders how in the world people continue to allow themselves to get scammed (in my head when reading of other people doing it) by clicking on a link OR opening an 'attachment' in an unsolicited email. It wasn't tagged as "spam" by my ISP's very-good spam filters.....it was in my normal inbox; and, it was from a vendor I've done business with.
    There was no attachment, but there was a link; I hovered the cursor over it; the lower left of my monitor showed the link exactly the same as it appeared on the page. I figured, well, it seems to be to the correct URL (knowing the seller's web address outside of ebay because I had visited it before finding he sold the same items on ebay). So, I clicked the link. Without a second thought. There was no other 'contact info' in the body of the email, so I thought the link looks authentic so I'll just go see if there's any information there about the owner being out of the country or ????.
    The link took me to a Google "404" not found page. It was only there that I noticed the URL/link had an added letter; a stupid lack of attention on my part. The site could not be found because the URL was misspelled. I still was blissfully unaware that I violated my own rule (not to click links or attachments in unexpected email from entities I don't know or aren't currently transacting with). So I just closed the window and forgot about it.
    It was only on waking this morning that I realized what I did.....and started worrying that I may have been directed to a phony "404" page that, without any further action on my part needed, might have contained something malicious that could be passed to anyone who connected to the page. I don't even know if that's possible, and I have so far not seen any unusual activity on the computer. But soon I will want to file my tax return....and I worry about the timing of this unusual-possible-scam email and the beginning of "tax time" here in the states?
    So, in summary: Should I be worried that I fell for some new (since 2013) method of unknowingly downloading malicious software to my Mac? If so, what should I do now?

    I don't even know if that's possible, and I have so far not seen any unusual activity on the computer.
    No, it's not even remotely possible. What you encountered was an attempt to scam you, and a pathetic one at that.
    Identity theft in general is a significant threat to any computer (a term encompassing Macs, PCs, iPads, iPhones...) user. However, that threat most commonly arises in the form of "phishing" and you didn't play along with it. The likely reason the email appeared to have come from one of your previous eBay vendors is that his email address was harvested using any number of methods. The email probably didn't even originate with him. eBay is a rich source for obtaining such information.
    eBay has a fairly helpful guide on the subject: http://pages.ebay.com/help/account/recognizing-spoof.html
    To answer your specific questions:
    Is there any malware or other harmful/malicious computer code--read, something that could steal my identity if/when I do my taxes online this year--currently known to be a threat to home non-business Mac computers?
    No.
    So, in summary: Should I be worried that I fell for some new (since 2013) method of unknowingly downloading malicious software to my Mac?
    No — although Mac-targeted adware has arisen since that time and is a rapidly growing annoyance that can make using your Mac practically impossible, it will not directly cause information theft as you have described it concerns you. Furthermore, it requires your participation to install it in the form of an Admin name and password — and it requires deception to convince you to supply those credentials. • Can't access personal email and therefore can't access internet on 8703e

    Hi there, I am having a very large problem, and it will take a while to explain. I spent most of yesterday trying to fix it, but all to no avail. Ok, so I bought a used 8703e BlackBerry on eBay, simply because Verizon is getting rid of their unlimited data plan on July 7 but will grandfather in those who have the plan before that date. Since I only had a regular phone, I needed a smartphone that was capable of having the plan so I could lock in. Unfortunately, I don't upgrade until August, and it would be stupid to buy a real phone before then. Hence, the BlackBerry. Now I activated it ok, and the calls and text messaging work. However, I only have the option to add an Enterprise email account under the setup wizard. I do not have an email setup or email settings icon like everyone says I should. Therefore, I cannot access my service books, and cannot sign the user agreement, and cannot get online. I saw online that this problem might be because it had an IT policy on it. Also, when I called Verizon, they said this was probably the problem. So I went through the steps listed - I upgraded my OS to the beta 4.5, I used the jl_Cmnder, I tried the policy.bin thing. In a way, these actions were successful - they eliminated the firewall that had previously been enabled. But it hasn't changed anything else. I saw that there was an option to create a Blackberry account online so that I could send myself the service books, and I thought that might work now that I disabled the firewall. However, for some stupid reason Verizon won't let you create an account online; it has to be done through the wireless device, which I can't do because I can't access the internet because I can't set up email and agree to the user terms. Ahh! In addition, I have done the Advanced Options - RHT - Register Now thing many times, and it doesn't seem to do anything. I just really need help. Is there a way to manually load the option for personal email on to the device? I think that if I could do that, then I could receive the service books, and all would be well. Thank you for taking the time to read this word vomit, and I anxiously look forward to your response!

    Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
    There is no manual way to add the Personal email configuration to a BB. That is 100% pushed by the carrier, when the proper data plan is enabled. But, if the carrier does not natively support that model BB, they most often will not push the SBs. You would have to do some very tedious things to acquire and install the SBs. Using a non-native BB on a carrier network that does not support it natively is very tricky indeed. I suggest you first obtain a commitment from VZW that they will allow your specific device on their network. Next, see if they support it natively; if they do, then go back to them for formal support...you are paying them for this service and they are not delivering it. If they don't natively support your model, then you will have a lot of tedious work to do in order to get it all working.
    Good luck!

  • Actionable emails with MS Exchange Server

    Using Exchange for e-mail, and my understanding is that we must enable IMAP/POP3 email on our Exchange server to get the BPEL actionable e-mails to work. But my Exchange experts strongly advise against us turning on these types of messages, at least on our main Exchange server. It is a global setting, and apparently one which creates numerous security risks.
    Attempting to configure actionable emails with MS Exchange Server as the email system. Does this require enablement of IMAP/POP3 on the Exchange Server to get actionable emails to work? Specifically, for the EmailAccount/IncomingServerSettings within the ns_emails.xml file, what configurations are required when the email system is Exchange Server?
    I'm looking to confirm or deny this configuration requirement for MS Exchange Server.
    Thanks,
    Tim

  • Is it possible to have 2 mail programmes on my macbook pro? one for business related emails and one personal. I dont want all the emails in one mail programme!

    Is it possible to have 2 mail programmes on my macbook pro? one for business related emails and one personal. I dont want all the emails in one mail programme. At the moment i have 2 personal email address being sent to my mail but because of receiving huge numbers of work emails it would be good to keep them seperate, what is the best way of doing this?

    if i use the one mail programme can it separate the incoming mail from the different email accounts into 2 folders without me having to do it manually?
    Yes, you can.  Nearly all email software can do this.  It involves creating two folders and a Rule for each folder.
    Maybe call one folder Personal Mail, the other Work Mail (Apple Mail calls folders Mailboxes).  One Rule would route all mail from your personal email account into the Personal Mail folder; the other Rule would route all mail from your work email account into the Work Mail folder.  It's actually easy to do, all you have to do is click a few things and the rule is set up.  Once the Rule is written you can also apply it to existing messages already downloaded to your Mac.
    In Apple Mail, Rules are under Preferences > Rules.  Follow the prompts to create a rule like this:
    If = Any
    Account = my Personal account (select the name of your personal email account)
    Perform the following actions: Move Message to Mailbox = my Personal Mail (select the name of your Personal Mail folder (aka mailbox))
    This rule says,  "take any message that comes in from my Personal Account and move it to my Personal Mail mailbox (folder)"
    Create a similar rule for your Work email.

  • Form Email and Insert to DB

    I'm trying to get a form both - email and insert into a database the form information.  Below, you can see the code I am using.
    Here is my setup:
    1. I have a form where the action is a file called formmail.php
    2. This file inserts the data into a database and then includes another file called phpmail.php
    3. phpmail.php first looks in a file called zipcodes.php where I've set a number of arrays for various possible zipcodes.
    4. phpmail.php then emails the form data to the email addresses associated with those zipcodes.
    Without the formmail.php step - it works perfectly.
    With the formmail.php step - it inserts it into a database, checks if the email address is formatted correctly, but does not email anyone.
    Do you know why?   Below is the code for the various files:
    formail.php
    <?php
    $con = mysql_connect("localhost","user","password");
    if (!$con)
    die('Could not connect: ' . mysql_error());
    mysql_select_db("phtsystem", $con);
    $sql="INSERT INTO leads (firstname, lastname, address, city, `state`, zip, phone, email, comments, reason) VALUES ('$_POST[name2]','$_POST[last_name]','$_POST[address]','$_POST[city]','$_POST[state]','$_POST[zip]','$_POST[phone2]','$_POST[email]','$_POST[comments]','$_POST[reason]')";
    if (!mysql_query($sql,$con))
    die('Error: ' . mysql_error());

    Scratch that.  It does work perfectly.   It just took the stupid server 20 minutes to send the emails.

  • Problem in setting up Actionable Emails

    Hi
    Hope you are doing fine
    I'm finding problems in setting up Actionable emails in Human Tasks.
    The mails are coming fine, with approve/reject buttons, but when I click on either of those buttons and send the email, nothing is hapenning. The same, when done using workspace is working fine.
    So I think this is something to do with the configuration.
    Before setting up the configuration, I have the foll details
    OutgoingMailServer, port
    IncomingMailServer, port, userName(say ActionableAccnt), pwd (which I'm using for actionable email)
    Here is my setup:
    In email driver notification under UMS
    Sender Address : [email protected]
    Default Sender Address : [email protected]
    provided outgoingMailServer, port, incomingMailServer, port, username, pwd
    And setting in Workflow Notification Properties
    From Address : [email protected]
    Actionable Address : [email protected]
    ReplyTo Address : [email protected] (this is a dummy address)
    Please note that in every emailId entry except the replyToAddress, I've used the same valid emailId [email protected]
    Is this ok? I'm ok even if the replyTo and actionable addresses are same.
    I've restarted the server. But its not working.
    Did I miss something here?
    I've gone through the documentation, some blogs, but could not find any.
    Would you please help me in this regard.
    Thanks in Advance
    Regards
    RaviKiran

    Hello there.

  • Skydrive and skydrive pro now same email and not working

    Hi,
    I have tried posting this on a few of the forums and keep getting sent somewhere else.  Can anyone here help me?
    For the last couple of weeks we have been setting up our new Office 365 during this time we have been using skydrive and skydrive pro without any problems.  Last Friday we set up our Outlook and change our login from onmicrosoft to our
    actual emails eg *** Email address is removed for privacy ***.  We are now able to receive our emails and login without any problem.  However our SkyDrive and SkyDrive Pro are not syncing with our computers.  If we open a file in our SkyDrive
    PRO folder it will not save to our online file.  If we try to login it will go no further than the screen to accept our email login.  You hit NEXT and nothing happens or it says that it does not recognise that account.  If we log into the dashboard
    we can view our skydrive pro but it is no longer able to sync with our computers.  Is it because we now have an email address doing both accounts?

    You'd better post the question to Office 365 forum. I've found the thread with the similar topic on that forum:
    http://community.office365.com/en-us/forums/154/p/185309/547354.aspx
    You can try to re-establish the connection between your SkyDrive Pro to your local copy. Please note that this action will create a completely new set of synced file locally and may take time to load
    depending on the amount of files to be synced.
    1. Right click on the SkyDrive Pro icon from the taskbar > click
    Stop syncing a folder > select the folder you are currently syncing on (or choose all), then click Stop Syncing.
    2. Open a web browser and navigate to the library you want to sync or go to your SkyDrive Pro tab from the blue menu, click the
    Sync icon on the upper right corner of the page to start syncing the file. Then check if your files started to sync in your locally.
    Hope this helps.

  • Actionable emails from oracle BPM.

    Hello All ,
    I am trying to use actionable email notifications from oracle BPM .
    Steps i have taken so far
    1) Marked notification on Human Task as "Actionable items "
    2) Mentioned valid email address in - Select SOA Administration > Workflow Task Service Properties - "Actionable email account"
    Result achieved after doing these configurations
    When clicked on Actions received in email like say Approve (using outlook) , one email reply gets created with id in "to" same as what mentioned in Workflow Task Service Properties .
    Content "reply" of email as below -
    ==========================
    Add comments by editing the text between the brackets in 'Comments' section.
    Comments: [your comments]
    You can also add attachments to the task by attaching them to this email.
    -----Do not edit below this line-----
    Approve : [[NID]] : 7kv0yUvSKkmbKbPn0ohu0I9CwHUfBhuTIAmKc3wwEcWCaJhUj9Qolyhu/ul3OttwnJSavULLMytHnsD7dakQAbzLyZS6C4PAgBO%2BsmgVzFwNGn1LevYmcLnRgKVJlevY : [[NID]]
    ==========================
    My question here is how Actionable emails are supposed to work - should they change the status of task directly when clicked on approve/reject (no log in on BPM)
    or should they notify somebody with status and then somebody should log in and do the change ?
    Anybody used actionable email please help us out here ..
    Thanks
    Rupesh

    Hi Rupesh
    1. First in Task Properties you check the box Actionable Email which you already did.
    2. You also need to configure some valid email addresses and set email details like email server name etc. From EM Console, soa-infra -> Right Click -> SOA Adminstration -> Workflow Notification Properties. In this first in drop down box, select Email. Then in 3 fields below give valid email addresses something like:
    From Address: [email protected]
    Actionable Address: [email protected]
    Reply To Address: [email protected]
    These email accounts should be valid and exist in your email exchage server.
    Now in the same screen on the top click on the link named "Go to messaging driver page" and on that screen on right side click the buton under Configure Driver and give email details like outgoingmailserver, incomingmailserver, the incoming mailid, incoming userid etc.
    Only after doing this, you can Approve/Reject (Take actions) directly from Email.
    Refer the online docs for more details.

  • Editable actionable email

    Hi,
    I have created BPM process that contain a few human task flow.Every single task flow need to be  approved by project manager before proceed to the next step.
    Currently my task flow will sent actionable email to project manager to notify about the task. Project Manager will able to see the form which contain all the data that have been key in by user  and will able to add their own comment when click on "APPROVE" or "REJECT" link in the email. I think this is the default behaviour for Actionable email.
    My question:
    Can we make form that display in actionable email be editable? For example, have drop down list in the email, so that Project Manager will able to update the data without go into  BPM workspace. Right now, all the field inside actionable email  will become readonly eventhough inside the bpm workspace this field is input text.
    Can anyone help me or give any suggestion on how to do this?
    Thanks in advance.

    We are tracking the same issue on Human Task Notification service issues on 10.1.3.3

  • Modifing actionable email body

    I am able to configure the actionable emails in the BPEL. So as soon as the task appears in the human task, the email is sent to respective user's email id with the actions in it.
    User just has to click on the action and the email will be sent to SOA server to take particular action.
    Now the problem is i want user to see only few actions in the email.
    e.g. my human task is having multiple outcomes like approve, reject, cancel and request for information.
    Now by default, actionable email will have all the actions in it.
    i wan to restrict it to only Approve and Reject.
    However i do not want to remove other options (outcomes) from BPEL human task.
    How do i do this?

    Vikrant Korde.

  • Calling an actionable email from process task OIM11g

    Hello Experts,
    Is there a way to call an actionable email from process task, meaning can i trigger a workflow on demand from process task.

    You are correct in the actionable emails, you just need to be creative.
    This is my suggestion:
    Create a Modify Application/Request request data set for your Active Directory workflow.  When your scheduled task runs (assuming it will be only once a day so that you don't have multiple being sent out), generate a new request with code, and in the request dataset, set the value to the 365 days in the future.  You can then create an approval policy either using the default manager approval, or custom soa composite.  Regardless, you want the approval task to go to the manager.  If you have enabled the Actionable Email Notifications (UMS Messaging i believe), then the manager will get an email for the approval and at the bottom it will have two options, APPROVE and REJECT.  The manager can click the link and it will process the request based on their response.
    If they approve it, the date is updated, and they get extended in AD.  If they reject it, the request is rejected and it never gets updated.

  • Configuring BPEL Worklist Actionable Email

    Hello,
    I have created a sample work flow and included a User task in that. I am trying to make the email notificaton as actionable one and configured the ns_emails, wf_congif and pc.properties file accordingly. When i initiate the task, I do able to get the email notification with the Approve and Reject options in the email. but when i click on that an email is going to the from account but the task initiated is still in pending status.
    I have tried the above approach in the following versions:
    SOA 10.1.3.4 -- mail (web mail -- yahoo)
    SOA 10.1.3.1 -- mail (MS Outlook)
    Could you please let me know where I am lacking or do i need to still set any settings for this.
    Thanks in advance,
    Siva.

    CAn you please post wf_config, and ns_email.xml?
    just want to check that the actionableEmailAccountName has been set correctly
    Also you don't modify the email in any way do you?
    cheers

  • Configuring BPEL Actionable Email

    Has anyone configured ns_mails.xml to use gmail account?
    I have gotten the actionable email to work with other accounts but not gmail. It seems that it cannot recognize the "Inbox" folder. The error log states that it cannot find the Inbox folder. Does gmail uses a different name for the "Inbox". I've tried [Gmail]/All Mail, All Mail, [Gmail]/Inbox but no luck.
