APO- BI Datasource from Planning Area

Hi All,
I need help with APO-BI datasource generated from Planning Area.
In the Dev environment we had two clients:
DCLNT020 (Holds APO part) DCLNT010 (Holds BI workbench).
So a datasource was generated from the Planning area in DCLNT020 --> it was replicated in DCLNT010 --> data from Planning Area was extracted to BI cube using this.
Now we transported this datasource to the Test environment which has only one client (TCLNT010). I maintained the Source to target mapping there such that DCLNT020 -- TCLNT010 and DCLNT010 -- TCLNT010.
However the Transport fails and the error message is:
Cannot replicate DataSource
Errors occurred during post-handling RS_AFTER_IMPORT for ISFS L
If I go to the Test system and try to generate the transported Datasource directly from the Planning area again, it says this DataSource already exists. However I cannot see this datasource in the system even after replicating and refreshing multiple times.
Please provide your inputs as to what might be wrong and hat I need to do to solve this.

Based on the above post it seems to be your maintain two clients in Dev one is for creation and another is for testing and when it comes to test environment your maintain only one client and maintain the DS in one it wont give any impact..
Based on the error

There could be two reasons
1) Needs to replicate the data source once you have imported it to test environ ment and than ran the program "RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL" by giving the name of the source and DS name if its BI 7.0
If its 3.x then have to execute the program :"RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL" By specifying the transfer structure name.
2) RS_AFTER_IMPORT  in some cases its because of improper transport of the update rules.
Solution would be recollect the transport and release the DS transport first and execute the ( 1)Activities and then transport the remaining._

    We are facing an issue of data not loaded to the planning area , realized this after planning book does not show any values in the current week bucket. However the required values show up in the Infocube. Our setup is as below on SCM 7

    Recent transports included selelction variant for the above program and now we see that some Key Figures are missing from Planning area from the KEY FIG assignement tab option from the above RTSINPUT_CUBE program.

    Did you check what all change objects have been selected in your trasport request which is causing this?

  • Generate Export datasource for planning area

    Hi,
    we are using SCM 4.0 version for running Demand planning.
    i have one strange problem. that is, to generate export data source for planning area, there is no option when
    right clicking on planning area(context menu).is this option is available somewhere else?. please give me a clue on how to generate export datasource for planning
    area in version SCM 4.0? or do i need to do some configurations?.

    Hi,
    You may try the following:
    1) From the menu: Demand Planning->Environment->Current Settings->Administration of Demand Planning
    2)From the list of planning areas, double click your Planning Area to display your planning area setup
    3) Then from go to the menu Extras->Generate Datasource

  • Error in generating data source from planning area

    Hi experts! I have an error while making data source from planning area:
    after the screen when i fill in the data source name (Window name: Generate export data source) i have the SYNTAX_ERROR Message:
    Syntax error in program /sapapo/cl_im_extract_ex======cp
    the main reason: the type /BI0/9A0IVWKNDGD is unknown
    what you can suggest to solve this problem?

    Dear Andrey Kudriavzev,
    The reason is the program is trying to use the datatype '/BI0/9A0IVWKNDGD' which does not exist in the system.
    Go SE11 to cross check if it exists. Check dataelement radiobutton -> enter /BI0/9A0IVWKNDGD -> Choose display option. You would need to create this datatype in the system. I feel there must some OSS Note related to this.
    Search for an OSS Note. Raise one if you cannot find the relevant notes.

    Hi Gurus,
            We are in implementation and i had seen that client wanted to see daily data and wanted to delete that data and load next day data.One more point is client even wanted monthly data as well in a same cube and this two facilities should be in single info cube.
    How is is possible?
    for further info we have calday and calmonth time Chart.
    please suggest me some good ideas.

    Hi Raj,
    You can use SAP BW to create reports for the user. You have the option of using an external BW system or the BW system that is coupled with the APO server. If you have an external BW system, then it is recommended that you report from there. As you may know APO is an OLTP system and thus is configured for such. The external BW system will be configured for OLAP access and thus would be much more suitable for reporting purposes.
    You may want create a SAP RemoteCube so that the data in your report is "as fresh as possible".
    Here are the steps if you will be using the BW component in the APO system:
    1) Create an export datasource for your planning area. (Transaction /n/SAPAPO/SDP_EXTR)
    2) Create an InfoSource and attach the datasource your have created in step 1. (transaction RSA1 Modelling tab)
    3) Create a SAP RemoteCube and attach your InfoSource and SourceSystem to that.
    4) Create a BeX query and a BeX report (either in Web or Excel).
    If you will be using an external BW system here are the steps:
    1) Create an export datasource for your planning area in the APO system (Transaction /n/SAPAPO/SDP_EXTR)
    In the external BW system:
    2)replicate the datasource your have created.(transaction RSA1, Modelling tab, sourcesystems->choose the APO system->Right click->Replicate DataSources).
    3) Create an InfoSource and attach the datasource that you have created in step 2. (transaction RSA1 Modelling tab)
    3) Create a SAP RemoteCube and attach your InfoSource and SourceSystem to that.
    4) Create a BeX query and a BeX report (either in Web or Excel).
    Note that a RemoteCube is only suitable for few users only. If you will have many users, you need to create a Basic InfoCube instead.
    In your BeX query, you can choose the granularity of your report. If you want your report to be aggregated to monthly level then be sure to include the 0CALMONTH InfoObject.

  • Delta load from planning area to third party system

    Hi All,
    Generally we sent full data load from DP planning area to back up cube in BW system..But suppose we are to send delta load from DP planning area to third party BW system, then what changes we need to do on the DP planning area side so that we send all the changed data from livecache. Can this be done in a standard way?

    Hi Tarun,
    It's not possible to extract delta loads from the APO planning areas. The delta loads are only possible with standard BW objects,  and planning area is not a BW object.
    SAP doesn't provide the functionality to have delta loads when you use export data source based on the planning area.
    PS: From backup point of view, anyway having delta load would not make much sense. We take the backup as a snapshot of a particular time, and if restoration is required, based on the request numer or the date of extraction, we restore the relevant data from cube to the planning area.

  • Request shows in Red status after extraction of Data from Planning area

    Hi Experts,
    I am extracting data from DP planning area to APO BW Info Cube. It was working fine but from last few days after extraction we are getting Red status of that request. However whatever data packages we are extracting we are getting same in to Info Cube also. But only status of that request is in Red.
    I gone through step by step analysis I found "Data selection succesfully finished?" statement in Red status & rest are in green. When I gone through the details of this statement then I found Missing "Message:Selection Completed" in yellow status.
    Any Idea? How do i resolve this issue?

    Hi Sujay,
    Check the logs obtained after the extraction.
    This only will tell you fare idea for you to proceed further
    to resolve the error that has happened.
    Also check whether the extracted data is correct by
    random sampling of extracted data

    iam working in an Implementation project for SCM in BW prcisely working with APO Bw..
    For that I have taken historical data as a flat file and loaded it in to the external BW Infocube and its fine...
    Second step I have created generate export datasource on topr of BW infocube and replicated in to Bw and used this export datasource as datasource for APO BW Infocube which is inbulit BW System from External Bw..
    also I have created tranformations and data is loaded in the BW cube in APO system.Also Included Version charecterstics..
    When I try to fed the APO Cube data to planning area Iam gettinga the following  warning itsnot an error:
    1.Key figure copy: InfoCube - planning area (DP) 01.01.2010 to 31.12.2010-- Successful
    *2.No data exists for the selection made (see long text*
      Diagnosis:Data could not be loaded from the Cube for the selection you made. Check whether the Cube actually contains data that is relevant for your selection.
    For the second point I have time charecterstics filled in the infocube which Iam feding to a Planning area like 0CALMONTH,0CALWEEK,FiscVarnt,0CALMONTH
    3.Characteristic assignment: No data copied --- Message

    As I understood, you have loaded data from external BW cube to APO BW cube and now loading planning area from APO BW cube.
    I hope your settings in /SAPAPO/TSCUBE transaction code would be correct and you have selected the correct planning version with correct cube.
    Check if Data in APO BW cube is available for reporting or not and data is avilable for given selction (if any but I guess you are not giving any).

  • Loading data from APO-BW cube into DP planning area

    Hello,
    Please explain to me how to load data from an infocube within APO into the DP planning area.  So far, I generated the data mart, created the update rules for the DP planning area (cube) and replicated data sources.  The problem that I am having is that when I create the infopackage, there is no data targets on the data target tab.  How can I get the data targets to display?  All the other actions appear to be set up correctly (confirmed by BW experts).  Can data be loaded from an APO-BW cube directly to the DP planning area cube?

    Hi James,
    Loading of data from an InfoCube to a Planning Area is done using transaction /SAPAPO/TSCUBE (program /SAPAPO/RTSINPUT_CUBE). You just specify the InfoCube, target Planning Area, Selection condition, Infocube Key Figure to PA KF mapping, etc).
    Have you tried this transaction already?

  • Planning area data not updated in infocube in APO system

    Hi all,
    User is uploading a flat file using addon program to an infocube 1, from this infocube data for  sales forecast KF is getting transferred to a planning area KF using standard program RTS_INPUT_CUBE.  I can see the updated data in Planning book (which refer the same planning area) data views. In planning book the sales forecast data is also getting copyied to second KF 'Arrangement FC' and its correct.
    Now there is a infocube 2 (second) which is getting data directly from this planning area (infocube also contains both KFs). But When i checked this infocube 2 , the updated data is availabe in Sales forecast KF , but arrangement forecast KF is having old data only and user is running query on second KF , so he is getting wrong report.
    Since there is no data flow for this infocube 2, and it is getting data from planning area, I feel its remote infocube.
    I have also found the datasource for this planning area but don't know how to move further to find why data is not updating properly? Please help on this.
    I have information that 2 weeks before data was properly updated, but this time data is not updated,
    system version  is SAP SCM 4.0

    it is advisable to run the background jobs when the planning books are not being accesses by the users to prevent such inconsistencis. Hence i would advise you to run the jobs durng non-working hours. and if you have a global system, then you may restrict to run the jobs based on regional levels.
    in addition, it is also a good practice to run consistency jobs before and after your have completed the background jobs. i hope you are using process chains to execute the sequeuce of jobs. if yes, then you can add consistency check jobs in the process chains.
    some of the consistency check reports are :
    /SAPAPO/OM17 - liveCache Consistency Check
    /SAPAPO/TSCONS - Consistency Check for Time Series Network
    /SAPAPO/CONSCHK - Model Consistency Check
    and so and so forth..
    you can find these conssistency jobs under APO Adiminstration --> Consistency checks in APO.

  • Planning Area datasource Parallel processing

    Hello Experts,
    Have anyone worked on using a parallel processing profile in a data source.
    We are extracting the data from planning area for backup and extracting to BW for reporting purposes. To speed up the process, we have an option to implement parallel processing for the datasource related to the planning area.
    Does this really work without any discrepancies in the data extracted?
    Please provide some pointer on the concept.

    Hi Raj,
    In our project we are using 8 parallel processes with Block size 1000.
    Regarding question 2: Ideally, yes both the iterations should result in same number of records, but data packets will be different based on Block Size. Please check whether you are referring to data packets or records.
    Also if you have the check box marked in one of the iterations, the number of records may vary.

  • Diffrence in data between the datasource and planning book

    I have loaded the historical data from an infocube into my planning area then i generated the forecast. In our planning book we have provided some keyfigs like market intelligence etc.,. i have written a macro to add the baseline forecast and market intelligence and saved into a seperate keyfigure, i have defined the macro as a default macro and the macro execution is at "details only". everything is working fine in my planning book.
    After extracting the data from my planning area into a datasource, the data is not matching between planning book and the datasource <b>only for the keyfigures which i have written macros.</b>
    Please let me know where i have gone wrong and what are other settings to be made to replicate the same data into my datasource.

    Please note that system never execute the macro while extracting data from planning area to infocube.If you want that data to be saved it is
    necessary to copy the values to a "non-calculated" liveCache keyfigure.
    Each time, you will reenter in the planning book, the new value
    calculated will be displayed, it won't be the real current value
    from the livecache, it is not inside until you saved.
    If you don't save this result, this  is only visible on the grid but not
    in the planning area and livecache.
    Everytime planning book is opened the values for keyfigures which is calculated from macro are re-calculated. If you save these values and
    immediately afterwards extract the data, those numbers will be the
    same. However, maintaining new values in the planning book without
    saving would result in "differences" ...
    A DEFAULT macro is also launched while starting the Planning book.

    i am using apo dp version 5.0 .We are trying to adding a new key kigfigures in our planning object structure and planning area .
    so,we are trying  take a back up of our Planning objects structure and planning Area .
    1.How to take the back up of MPOS and Planning area  ?
    2. How loading back the data in to the same MPOS and Planning area after adding some keyfigures to MPOS and planning area.?
    I gone  thru the www.help.sap.com but i did not understand properly .
    I would really appreciate if somebody clearly eleborate  the procedural steps .

    Hi Kriss,
      First let me clear you some points.
    1. MPOS always contain characteristcis only not the key figures.
    2. Planning area always contain Key figures.
    3. When you create planning area at that you have to assign MPOS & Storage bucket Profile. So Automatcially Characteristcis, Key figures & Time charcteristics realetion mentained.
    Come to your point.
    1. Before creating data source which is depend up on Planning area, you should sure that your basic structure get finalized say, MPOS, Planning area & rest configuration setting. So if you think there will be some extra key figure required after finalizing planning area then in that case you can creat some extra key figure & adding to planning area before finalizing it. So that you can use these key figure in future also.
        What ever data you want to extract from planning area you required whole data extraction process. So whenever you create data source depend up on planning area then automatcially all the info Objects( Char. key figures, time char. ) come in to data source by default. So further you have to replicate it in to APO BW & create rest data extraction process depneds up on data source. So automatcially all the info objects come in to an Info Cube & your extraction process will wrk fine.
    2. Relignment can effect on data transfer from Info Cube to Planning area becz previously your charcteristcis values are different & you had taken back with those characteristcis values, now if you did relignment then charcteristcis values are suppose to be changed, so while loading data from Info cube to Planning area your charcteristcis values will not match & data will not load for those char. values only.
        See, Data always stored in to planning area ( Live cache) against characteristcis, Key figures & time characteristcis. Data is not stored in to MPOS.

    while loading data from planning area to backup cube , for the key figure ( result of a macro),the data in planning area is not matching with PSA as well as with cube.
    At the same time Data is matching at total level but not at disagregated level. And many times it disagregate in equal Proportion in cube/psa.
    Pls its urgent.

    make sure you have replicated the extraction of the data source. This is needed to ensure your backup cube gets the current data as in the planning area
    if you got to /SAPAPO/SDP_EXTR then you can see this button
    you can set this up as a program scheduled to run before the updation of your cube
    As for the disaggregation, test at what level you are choosing your characteristic? ( i suppose you can choose the level)
    Are you extracting at a detailed level or at the aggregated level
    Is your macro saving the data into a Keyfigure or is it an auxilliary KF or something?

    Iam taking the backup from PA to ODS ,then ods to cube.
    In the ods update rules keyfigures->overwrite.
    I have all history data in my PA and i have taken the backup of that PA to ods and all 17 months results are same as in the PA,but last months data is not same .Its different in ods and PA.
    But when iam taking teh same backup from PA to Cube directly ,iam getting all months data correctly.
