Apple won't replace my iPhone 5.

I recently got my iPhone 5 replace no longer then 4 monthsbecause the start button didn't work. I went to a Apple store, and they replaced it without any question. Now, my newly iPhone 5, the SIM card keeps disconnecting from my phone, so i made an appointment at the Genius Bar. They asked me what happened, and i told them "The SIM card keeps disconnecting, i turn the phone off and on about 5-7 times a day, and for the past 2 weeks or so, i left it disconnecting because it was too frustating to turn it on/off again" They said they will take it apart, and see if the phone was working properly. About 10 minutes of waiting, they came out and said "Looks like your SIM card slot, cercut had been disconnected. The replace cost would be about 350$ with tax". I though if it was the device problem they would replace it? I mean its only been 4 months.

A warranty replacement inherits the balance of the original warranty or 90 days, whichever is longer. If I had to guess, I'd say the original warranty has expired.

  • Apple won't replace my iPhone and wiped it completely saying it would fix the problem but it hasn't..

So basically I took my iPhone in to be fixed. It's got a problem where the wifi won't switch on nor will my Bluetooth. Knowing I only brought a new iPhone about 4 months ago thought that's ok I'll get it fixed or a new one.
How wrong was I? Not only were they rude to me and talked down the me. They also completely wiped my phone convincing me it would fix the problem. Well it didn't. I actually left the store crying as I had no contacts, photos, or apps.
They refused to help me any further without me buying a new phone. They said that when I got my new phone from them to replace another broken headset I only got 90 days warranty. They said I signed for it. In my opinion they should make it clearer and tell you this.
I am disgusted at the way I've been treated and think that for such a big company they really don't help themselves.
Just wondering if anyone could help shed some light on this?

OK. So the phone you took them was an out of warranty replacement for a phone you had previously... Is that correct? They told you the truth. The out of warranty replacement has a 90 day warranty. (if the phone it was replacing was physically damaged, the OOW replacement will inherit the balance of the original warranty if it's longer than 90 days.)
If you were backing up and syncing your phone on a regular basis, as intended, you can restore all of your information exactly the way it was at the time of the last backup.
If you're unhappy with the way you were treated, go back and speak to the manager or call Apple and ask to speak to customer relations.

  • Can the Apple watch totally replace my iPhone?

Can Apple watch totally replace my iPhone?

No, it can't. The Apple Watch is an extension the iPhone.
You need an iPhone to set up the Apple Watch. Without the iPhone this is what you can do with an Apple Watch once it's set up:
Use Apple Watch without its paired iPhone
Although you need an iPhone to do most things with Apple Watch, you can still do several things with Apple Watch without having an iPhone in range.
Play music from a synced playlist on Apple Watch
Use the watch, alarms, timers, and the stopwatch
Keep track of your activity (stand, move, exercise) with the Activity app
    Track workouts

my canadian iphone 4S screen looks yellow and its looked to rogers, will apple singapore can replace my iphone 4S screen for free coz its under warranty for another 6 months... i'm in singapore at the morment so what is the best thing i should do ?? will they send my iphone to canada for the repair or do i have to wait till i fly back ???

    No.
You would have to send your iphone to someone you know in Canada, then that person would have to get the iphone to Apple.
Apple will not accept a shipment from outside the country.

If your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad is Broken
Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
ATTN: Beginning July 2013 Apple Stores are now equipped to do screen repairs/replacements in-house on iPhone 5s. In some cases while you wait. According to Apple this is the beginning of equipping Apple Stores with the resources needed to do most repairs for iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches that would not require major replacements. Later in the year the services may be extended as Apple Stores become equipped and staffed with the proper repair expertise. So, if you need a screen repaired or a broken screen replaced or have your stuck Home button fixed, call your local Apple Store to see if they are now doing these in-house.

  • IPhone 4 (bought in December) power button is stuck. Apple won't replace it. Why?

    Well that's exactly it.
I have an iPhone 4 that was purchased in December of 2011. I took the phone to the Apple Store to get it looked at, and they won't replace it for free. They are asking for $150 for the entire phone to be replaced, which doesn't make any sense.
The phone doesn't have any type of physical damage, it hasn't been dropped nor hitten. What can I do? If this is how Apple is going to treat their customers, I would rather take my business elsewhere. I've purchased multiple Apple products, this being my fourth iPhone and I've never had a problem before.
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you,
    Ditoh1

  • Swollen battery in Applecare that Apple won't replace

I've got a Macbook Unibody which is still covered under AppleCare, and I discovered that the battery has swollen and became slightly bigger, enough for the battery cover not to close properly. The battery has only 200 cycles and is still on 84% capacity, and I have AppleCare until November 2011, so I thought it was a battery defect and took it to my local Apple reseller. (no Apple stores here yet )
So, after two days I was told that they had checked my Macbook and found the cause for the battery to swell up: there was a lot of dust on what seems the output of the processor disippator (a place I wouldn't be able to reach myself to clean, as I would have to disassemble it), and that dust caused the processor to become hotter (even though I hadn't noticed it) and that too much heat caused the battery to swell up.
But the funny thing is: Apple won't authorize the battery replacement, because they say it is not a battery defect, as it was caused by the processor heating because of the dust that got there by "normal usage" and I couldn't clean by myself. They told me I should have got there by the time I noticed my laptop becoming hotter than before so they could have cleaned it, but now it was just too late.
So I was left with the laptop and the swollen battery again, after I refused for them to charge me for the battery a little bit more than the price that I could get it from the Apple Store.
Does anyone have any experience with swollen after normal usage batteries? Will the battery swell up more if I keep using it? Is there any way I can try to convince Apple to give me a new battery? (after all, batteries aren't supposed to swell up, aren't they?)

The problem here is that you are relying on a third party's service. Swollen batteries are not all that uncommon. While people sometimes have difficulty getting a replacement if their warranty has expired or if their battery has gone beyond it's standard cycle count, in your case neither applies. In almost every case that this has happened where the cycle count was low and the machine still under warranty, Apple has replaced these batteries. You may not have a local Apple store, but you should give Apple a call:
    http://www.apple.com/support/contact/phone_contacts.html
Explain your situation to them as well as the unhelpful support from your local reseller. Typically, they can mail you a new battery.

  • Apple won't replace my ipod battery

Ive had my ipod mini for around 9 months now and the battery cuts out after around half an hour of playing time. It comes back on but soon cuts out again. I sent it back to apple and they have just sent me it back today telling me that the ipod is satisfactory and that they won't replace it. Does anyone know if you can get replacements from a local apple store??
      Windows XP

they don't advertise this program properly. they will only replace the battery if they deem that it needs to be replaced. my battery has been sucking (my mini's over 2 years old) and they refused to replace its battery.

  • Apple won't replace dead pixel?

    Hi,
somebody told me that Apple will not replace your iPod if you have a dead pixel, you have to have a few dead pixels for them to replace it.
Does anybody know if this is true, or had any experience with Apple Returns and Repairs with a dead pixel?
Its just that I had a dead pixel on my iPod video, I sent it back to them, and now they sent me an email telling me that they couldn't find anything wrong with it and they are returning my original iPod back to me.
So I don't know whether I should send it back to them again if they are just going to return it to me again.

    Thanks for your help dude.
Think you just saved me some time sending it back again.
Not that it will change anything but I want to moan anyway...
on a tiny iPod screen a dead pixel is alot more obtrusive than one on a large Mac monitor.
I guess I'll have to hope a few more pixels die on me before my warranty expires.

  • Should an Apple Premium Reseller replace my iPhone if it is faulty?

They told me they do not do this but my chat assistant told me otherwise?
The top of my screen has come off a little and my chat assistant told me that I can visit Western Computers, and they can sort everything out for me.
When I went, the man had a quick look at it and said sorry we don't replace iPhones in here.
I am super confused, do I have to go to an Apple shop or should Western Computers be providing me with a new iPhone?
    Thanks,
    James.

None of us would know.  Sorry.  You need to either resolve this with who you bought the phone from or speak with Apple.  We're just users here like you.

  • How much do Apple charge to replace your iPhone?

Basically my iPhone is messed up, the buttons are pushed in slightly, they still work but yeah. the phone will randomly vibrate when it's on silent. the text tone will stutter badly, the new screen which was fitted hasnt been placed on properly so dust gets in and not only this but i have the feeling there is internal damage as well. now instead of going to a repair shop etc. I got told Apple will either repair it or replace it with a new (same model) phone and because the warranty has ran out, I was just wondering how much they will charge?

That is why I said keep an open mind...you have to evaluate just what you are willing to accept and what is the most cost-effective thing for you to do.  We're all fellow users on here and can just give our experience.  But do keep an open mind, consider what they are willing to work out with you and do what is in your best interest.

  • Is it true that apple won't ship the iPhone 6 until 4 weeks from now?

a t-mobile rep. told me that because apple has a lot of pre-orders they won't send their phones till 4 weeks from now even the people that ordered mid-night thursday.

    Welcome to the community.
We here are users like yourself, not Apple. We have no way of knowing the answer to your question, or any like it. You cite a service provider's rep. He probably knows much more than anyone here.

  • Apple never accept replacement for their yellowish screen on my new iphone5s

I bought iphone5s few days ago and I reallized that my screen is yellowish. Applecare also agreed with yellowish screen on my phone.
but finally, Apple said it can not be replaced because yellow screen is not hardware failure..
I should see yellow color only instead of white for 2 years!!!!!!
Can you agree that? Anybody there to help me?

If either of you purchased the iPhone directly from Apple within the last fourteen calendar days, you should be able to return it for refund, though that policy will depend on the country you're in. If  you purchased from an authorized reseller, that reseller's return policy if any will apply.
If you're outside of any return policy, then if Apple Support says that they won't replace the iPhone, there's probably nothing you can do. Only Apple can make that determination and if they've refused replacement, I'm afraid that's the end of it. You can try calling Apple Support and asking to speak with Customer Relations and see if they can help, but if they can't, then you will have hit a dead end.
Note, however, that the yellow tint often fades across the first few weeks of use, so even if Apple refuses a replacement, you may find that matters improve over time.
    Regards.

  • Will Apple stores in Germany replace your iPhone if there is internal hard drive problems from a phone from the US. I am studying abroad and won't be home until December

Will Apple stores in Germany replace your iPhone if there is internal hard drive problems from a phone from the US. I am studying abroad and won't be home until December

You can try, but the iPhone warranty terms state that Apple "may" restrict warranty/service to country of original purchase...key word here is "may".
    Good luck.
