BT graphite 1500 - answer phone messages cut short

Does anyone know how to stop messages that are left on the answer phone being cut off in the midde when replayed. I cannot find any hlep in the user guides about how to extend the amount of time given to the actual messages left. thanks

I did some searching for you and found that this is a known issue with the graphite 1500. there is a fix for it apparently. i found this on another forum:
"we are experiencing the same problem with a BT Graphite 1500. There is no info on website about this but after experimenting found a fix. if you press the ffwd skip button down until you see the numbers start to swirl then - you can record a msg yourself which i did for 2 mins. this seemed to kick in the answer phone length and now it works fine…"
So it seems like recording your own outgoing message should fix the problem. if you have already recorded an outgoing message, just try and replace it with a fresh one. Post back and let me know if it worked!

  • BT Graphite 1500 answer phone

Hi, I have had my Graphite 1500 for a couple of years, but have found that despite repeated corrections, the day and time for answer phone messages keeps becoming incorrect. For example, I received a message this morning, Monday AM, but the message was timed as Friday PM. I keep resetting to the correct time, but it goes out again. I haven't monitored how long it takes before things go wrong. I read on another post about a different model that this can because if the year is set incorrectly during set up. But there is no option for the year to be entered.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Could it be that someone switched the answer machine off by accident?
Use the "Ans on/off" button to switch the answering machine on or off. By pressing the "Ans on/off" button you can scroll around the 3 options:
    - Answer only;
    - Answer off;
    - Answer and record.
Let us know if that did the trick.

  • BT Graphite 1500 - answer message sounds like a fa...

    Hi,
After years of using the answer machine in a quad phone set-up, the answer phone is now playing a message that sounds like a fax machine.
There is no fax machine plugged in to the phone circuit and it continues even when the IP fax is powered off.  There has been no change to the home set-up for months/years.
The "fax-like" message plays whatever the setting of the phone:  answer and record, answer only or answer phone off.
Tried resetting everything I can and powering off!
    Any clues?
    Thanks

Are you sure it is the phone causing the problem? could there be something else plugged into another phone socket,
Try unplugging the graphite from the phone line and then call your home number.

  • BT Graphite 2500 answer phone not working

    Hi there
I have just bought a BT Graphite 2500 (3 pack) phone set. But the answer phone won't work. Regardless of which setting I put it on, the phones just keep on ringing and the answer phone just doesn't kick in.
I have a BT line and broadband. I bought the phones from BT in a weak moment when I upgraded my broadband package.
Has anybody else found this problem? Has anybody been able to sort it?
    So far I have:
    - Spent four hours speaking to lots of nice people who work for different parts of BT
    - Read and reread the full user manual
    - Reset the phones, unplugged the base and taken the batteries out for 30 mins
    - Sent the phones back and received replacements
    - Reset the new phones, unplugged the new base and taken the batteries out for 30 mins
    - Been cross
    - Got over being cross.
All I want is my answer phone to work. Can anyone help?

Did you get your problem resolved as we have just purchased BT Graphite 2500 Trio set and our Answering Machine is not working.  We previously had a phone with a built in answering machine and had no problems whatsoever but we just can't get the answering machine to work.  We have followed the instructions to the letter and are now on our second set after taking the first one back due to the belief that this was faulty.  We have also gone through re-setting the phones (we had contacted the help desk with the first set of phones and they had suggested that we do this).  The phones work ok so there is no problem with the line.  Any ideas?

  • BT Graphite 1500 answer machine

the answer machine doesn't allow messages to be recorded.
It answers ok, asks caller to leave a message, then after about 5 seconds closes call and no recording is left.
The answer and record option is on and I have changed the batteries.
    Any ideas?

    Hi phutcherson,
    Welcome to the forum.
Sounds like a fault, how long have you had the phone?

  • Why doesn't this web-based SMS service let us send messages to short-code addresses or extra-long phone numbers?

Hey, every SMS program that runs on a standard computer (I mean rather than a tablet computer) that I've ever seen won't let us send SMS text messages to short codes--such as a radio station at 57500 or whatever. My phone can do it, so why not here? So Verizon, will you please upgrade it so that it will do that?
Also, the same question goes for international numbers (yes, the site would make our account pay for those, right?), where 011 and then a country code longer than 1 digit (like longer than our 1 here) are needed. My phone can do it, so why not here? So Verizon, will you please upgrade it so that it will do that, too?

Haha, OH! I didn't notice that whole "Verizon Wireless" limitation before. Huh.... Oh wait, so you're saying that sending them from the website is free then, huh? That's interesting.
Yes, messaging done on the Verizon site does not go against your allowance.  The phone number you put in is so the recipient will know who it is from and can respond.  If they respond to your phone number, and you get the text on your phone, that would be charged to your phone. I believe if you use a nickname, it will be sent to [email protected] and not go through your phone number.

  • Graphite 1500 and Synergy 2150 compatibility

    Hi Folks,
    Help required. Story and query:
I had a BT Synergy 2150 with 4 additional 2100 handsets. Eventually I had to replace a couple of the 2100s with 2150s and, later still, swapped the whole thing for a Graphite 1500 Quad set up. Following a question from me, the helpful salesperson at BT assured me I could use one of the working 2150s as the fifth handset - and I did! That handset has now failed, so I should like to use another of the working 2150 handsets as the fifth handset - but I have completely forgotten how I can register this 2150 handset to the Graphite base! Can anyone help?
The Synergy set up was all in the instructions but I can find no instructions for registering with the Graphite. There must be a way as I did it once, successfully.
    Any advice appreciated.

    Hi Beau_Block
    Welcome to the Community.
Have you referred to the userguides for both phones, I'll be honest this isn't something I am overly technical on, but if you have mislead the userguides you can access them here.
    Synergy 2150
    Graphite 1500
Hope they help let us know how you get on.

  • Mail Subject getting cut shorted

    Hi frnds
In my mail subject i see that the subject is getting cut shorted like
"Contract Title 5600000422 Actual Spend is now 91" . I am only getting this message in subject but the original is some what bigger than this .
Is there any limitation to that .
    Thanks
    ROhit

    Hello Rohit,
There was actually a limitation in previous releases, for external mails it is 50 characters. Check note 975947, it will solve your problem.

  • IPod Acting Strange When Connected To Windows / Songs Also Cut Short

    Hi,
I am using the latest iTunes version with Vista and have an 80Gb iPod Video.
In the last few weeks, I rebuilt my PC from scratch.
I currently have some problems with my iPod and would be most grateful if someone could please assist me. Here’s the details….
Whenever I connect my iPod to my PC, I get a Windows message popping up asking if I want to “Scan and Fix”. Any ideas why this is happening and how this should be resolved? I also find that when ejecting the iPod in iTunes, I still can’t remove it until I go into Explorer and select Safely Remove. Could this be a driver problem – how can I be sure to be using the correct driver for my iPod?
Also, when the iPod is playing (not connected to computer), some songs are cut short. There doesn’t appear to be any pattern to which ones cut. They play ok in iTunes.
Finally, is there something (apart from un-ticking the Enable Disk Use check box in iTunes) that you need to do to get an iPod out of disk mode. Mine was in disk mode a few weeks ago, but since then I have done a restore and the check box is no longer ticked – does a restore / reset take the iPod out of disk mode? – (I originally put it in disk mode to try and do a defrag). Since the iPod still appears in Windows Explorer, I was wondering if it is in fact still in disk mode (even although according to iTunes, it isn’t).
I have tried all the reset stuff, but still no joy!
Many thanks in advance for your help!
    Cheers,
    Neil

Have relogged this - things changed a little last night!

  • Cannot Send Text Messages to Short Codes?

I keep getting account updates from someone's bank account. The short code 454545 is sending me text messages for pretty much any account activity for this person. I've tried texting "Stop" or "Help" (as instructed by the messages sent to my phone) and I get a "Send Failed" notification for my phone. I've called the bank to stop the texts, but I'd like to fix the actual problem.
This problem exists for all of the short codes I've tried. 32665 (facebook), twitter, all of them. How do I fix this problem?

    Yosef,
I do not have premium messaging blocked. I checked in the My Verizon site,
plus I am able to receive messages from short codes. It's just that
whenever I try to send a message to a short code, it fails.

  • Imported movie is cut short in timeline

I have a mp4 video file that I need to edit. When I import the file into Premiere Pro CS6 the file cuts off about  1 sec before it ends. The mp4 movie file is 15fps with 44.1kHz audio. I created a Custom preset with the same settings. When I drag the movie into the timeline it says the settings are not the same so I select to match movie. The end of the movie is chopped and I can hear the last bit of audio. I can play the movie just fine in Quicktime Player - just not in Premier since it gets cut short. I've tried to drag out the end of the clip in the timeline but it's as if there's nothing else there -- even though I hear and see it in QT Player.
I first noticed this when playing the external mp4 video in a Flash movie with the FLBPlayback component. I thought that perhaps the 15fps rate was the problem as the Flash movie was set to 24fps. I changed the Flash movie to 15fps - published - and still it's cut short.
I can't understand why both Flash and Premiere are cutting the movie short but Quicktime Player is not. Any ideas that might help me figure out what's going on?? Thanks.

I made a typo in my op. I meant to say "The end of the movie is chopped and I can't hear the last bit of audio."

  • IOS 7 downloaded fine but I can't back up restored. Tried 3 times. Tried turning off iCloud. Now I can only receive texts and phone messages. I cannot make calls, retrieve phone messages or send any texts. When I try I just get a blank screen. HELP

I initially tried to do this at 11:39pm last night. I cleaned up my apps, backed up to my computer and then took the plunge. It downloaded fine, everything went ok until I tried to restore backup. I received a message that there was an error in iTunes and iPhone could not be restored. I tried this three times giving up at 2:00 am. I tried again at 7:30am. No fix. Now I can open up phone and browse in safari. I can get notifications that a text was received or a phone message left but I can't receive or make phone calls, retrieve phone messages, or access any text features. Also I have NO purchased apps. I use my phone got work and this has ruined my day - please help!!

I would start with going to O2 with the phone and making sure it's set up properly - maybe the SIM they gave you isn't quite right or their network isn't acknowleding it like it should.
Seeing as you've tried restoring to factory settings and resetting network settings, I'm assuming you've tried restoring the phone as new, just to see if that helped at all. If that didn't help, you definitely need to get in touch with O2 and work things out with them.
