Can I switch phone numbers between 2 different phones?

Currently my husband wants my Motorola Droid Razor since he can't stand his iPhone anymore. I was wondering if I could transfer my phone to his iPhone and move his phone number to my Razor. Does it cost anything?

You can do this, and there is no charge to swap devices.  Since both lines are active, you should go to a store and have the rep there do the swap.  Keep in mind that the iPhone has a different voicemail system so neither one of you will have access to any existing voicemail messages on your current number once the swap is complete.

  • Switch phone numbers between 2 different sized SIM Cards?

I have an HTC One and my dad has an iPhone 5. I want to switch phones with him but the iPhone 5 has a nano sim and the HTC One has a micro sim. Is their a way i can just switch phone numbers on the sim card? for example I have my phone number on my can I transfer it to my dads? and vise versa.

Contact your carrier to have them give you appropriate sized sim cards with the correwct numbers and services.
Alternatively, you can cut the larger sim card down to the correct size, and place the smaller sim card in an adapter to make it larger.

But contacting your carrier would be the better option.

  • Can I share addresses lists between 2 different iCloud users?

Does anyone know if I can share address lists/books between two different iCloud users?  I know you can do this with a calendar, but I would like to do it with addresses too.

    Yes.
Go to Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars
Add a new account if type iCloud, and username/pasword for the secondary account you want to access their contacts.  Turn off all but Contacts, and you wll now be seeing their contacts on your iPhone.
Now in your contacts app, under Groups, there is a new section of contact from the new iCloud account you just setup.  If you have the contacts app open (even minimized) you may have to force it closed and re-open to sync in the new contacts.

  • I have iphone 4s, wife has iphone 4 and I want to switch phones. She works and I am retired. She needs Siri. How can I switch phones so all data is switched correctly?

I have iPhone 4s, wife has iphone 4. She works, I am retired. She needs Siri. How can we switch phones and get all data, contacts, calendars, etc to switch correctly?

First make sure both iPhones are using the lastest iOS 5.1.1. Secondly make sure all of your data is backed up in separate iCloud accounts one for each user. Make sure that you are all of the options in iCloud are on. Then you have to switch the sim cards.

This page will take you though the steps of backing up data and then restoring the data on both iPhones. Make sure to read everything before you start the process it is fairly straight forward.

You can use iTunes to restore or the iCloud option. I find that iCloud is much easier to setup but it requires wifi.

  • Can I switch phone numbers between two iPhones?

I have ordered a 3GS, replacing my wife's 2G model. She will now get my 3G model. Do we have to change phone numbers or is there a way to move my 3G number with the 3GS and vice versa. It would be much better if that was possible.

I also wish to switch phone numbers between phones. I just got off the phone with AT&T customer support. You can handle this over the phone. Need to have the two phones in hand at the time. I got through to customer support today with less than one minute on hold. I was quite surprised. AT&T must have really staffed up for the release.

  • Swap phone numbers between two different accounts.

I currently have two phone plans and two phones. One is on my mother's account and the other is a new phone I just started on my Fiance's account. They are completely separate from each other. My mother has a plan she own's and my fiance has a plan she owns.
My question is; is it possible to swap numbers between the 2 phones? I want the number from my old phone that is on my mother's plan to be on my new phone that I just got. My mother plans on letting the other phone run out of contract and cancelling the line. I know I can swap the sim cards, but that would put my new phone on the wrong plan.

Why didn't you perform an Assumption of Liability (AOL) to transfer your original line from your mother's account to your fiancé's account?

  • Can I switch phones if I am not the account owner?

I am planning on switching phones short of when my contract ends because I am frustrated with my current phone. I am planning to buy a phone off of ebay, but I'm wondering if I will be able to activate the phone successfully (under the same account) even if i am not the account owner (my dad is)?

In addition to the information provided by mdram4x4, you can power the current device off, and then dial *228 send and then choose option 1 on the new device to activate it.

  • Can you copy purchase history between two different iTunes accounts?

So I have music from two different iTunes store accounts that were purchased on two different credit cards. I want to buy and album & I have 7 of the songs from it, but it isn't showing up as purchased, because they were purchased on the other account. I don't want to pay for those songs again, so is there a way to copy the purchase history between the different accounts so I don't have to pay for them again?

    No.

  • Can I share Attributes/Variables between 2 different Class Driver Sessions?

I am designing a Simulator of Instrumentation following these steps:
    1) re-programming, re-compiling, and re-building the DLLs from the advanced class simulation drivers included in IVI Driver Toolset 2.0 using LabWindows/CVI 7.0;
    2) then i create a VI in LabVIEW 7.0 which calls an IVI Class Driver obtaining the desired simulated output data.
My problem is that I need to share variables between different DLLs in LabVIEW.
I want to simulate a circuit which consists of a battery and a resistor. I've got 2 instruments: a DC Power Supply and a Digital Multimeter.
The DC Power Supply acts as the battery providing a certain voltage level, and the Multimeter measures the Voltage and the Current in the resistor.
I've designed a VI in LabVIEW which uses 2 different sessions: one which calls the class driver IviDCPwr, and the other one which calls IviDmm.
I wish to be able to access the attributes from "nisDCPwr.c" in the file "nisDmm.c".
For example, to write a line like this:
    Ivi_GetAttributeViReal64 (ViSession vi, ViConstString channelName, NISDCPWR_ATTR_MEASUREMENT_BASEV, 0, &reading));
inside the source code "nisDmm.c" of the advanced class simulation driver.
The problem is that the only ViSession accessible from nisDmm is the handle from the Digital Multimeter, but not from DC Power Supply.
Would this be possible? Is it "legal"?
I've tried another approach through the declaration of external variables, but unfortunately I get a run-time error in LabVIEW.
The only solution I've found is using auxiliary files going between, through the functions included in the Low Level I/O Library .
Nevertheless, the solution proposed above would result much more convenient, faster and safer in my application.
I hope everyone has understood my question, and anyone can help.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR TIME!!!

    Doesn't anyone have an answer?
    Or any proposal?
    Or even a clue?
    THANKS!

  • This makes no sense - Can't switch phone?

There's a bit of history behind this so to get proper context here's what has happened so far
    1) After 14 months, my original moto droid died so VZW sent me a replacement pre-owned....that didn't work. They then sent another one.....that also didn't work. And then ifnally they sent me one that....kinda works.....whatever
    2) To solve the whatever, I went and bought a sony Xperia play back in June off contract through a third party and the phone ACTIVATED AND WORKED FINE. No issues, the switch was painless.
    3) I lost the phone when I moved in the beginning of July and reported it as lost/stolen (I'm in Flint, MI....lost things are typically stolen). However, it was returned to me about 2 weeks ago.
    4) All attempts to reconnect the device by myself have failed. I contacted verizon customer support on multiple occasions and each time they said there was something they could do but it never worked. F
    5) I have tried to find live chat support instead of phone support because I was told repeatedly that it is easier to do with both phones off during the switch so this time, I wasn't going to be on any phone at all....however, your live chat seems to only be there for sales and not actual help...
    6) I attempted to email tech support for what could be done but when I went to email about a phone not working the VZW website blocks you from being able to email and says to call instead....Let me repeat - If you want to email verizon about a phone not working you are forced to CALL them.
    7) Finally, I got my answer today after my 4th or 5th call to customer service. The person I bought the phone from had it activated on their account for a brief period to test the phone. They deactivated it on their line before sending it to me and I activated it on mine. But because their account fell into bad standing, I am now barred from reactivating the device. Their ebay account, which was active for well over a year and had several hundred good reviews mind you, is now deactivated so I can not contact them.
My problem is this - The phone I'm trying to activate was active on my account which has been in good standing, since I started, for almost 2 years. Why does the previous account's standing have anything at all to do with me? I have the phone. I am in possession of it. I paid for it. What can I do to transfer my account to this phone?
Also - why is it so hard to contact customer support? My current replacement droid for my original one has spotty connection. How am I expected to contact tech support/customer service if it dies?

I would definitely recommend you contact eBay about the issue and let them know! As an eBay seller myself, I attempt to make sure all the products I'm selling are in good condition and will be able to be used by someone else. It is awful and rude to sell a product such as a smartphone that is gravely important and have it not work. The reason it's not working with your account is because the phone was previously activated on the seller's account. (One phone at a time rule*).  In order for you to start fresh and new you need to get in touch with someone from eBay and have this seller reprimanded for causing you so much trouble. I myself have considered purchasing tech items from eBay and Amazon and as good as the seller's ratings may be, that does not qualify them to be able to sell to just anybody. Unfortunately you received a "lemon" phone - AKA it doesn't work like they promised.  Once the seller has been contacted by eBay customer support, your next step will be to go to Verizon and tell them exactly what happened.
I bought the phone I have now from Wal-Mart and I promise you I will never do that again. Within 3 months, the phone was completely dead. It may be cheaper and it may sound great but 3rd party sellers are NOT recommended by me personally. It's nothing personal against you I'm not trying to discourage your spending choices but trust me, you do get your money's worth if you buy direct. Plus, if something is wrong with the phone Verizon can't really help you out because they have no clue what software you're running on or how up to date it is. Just some friendly advice from someone who has done it before. Hopefully this will not happen to you again. I know first hand it can be quite frustrating and I empathize with you. Hope this works out for you! ;D

  • Can I switch sim cards between 2 iPhone 4s?

My dad just bought a white iPhone 4 and he said he'd give it to me if I gave him my black one. Can this be done?

Yep, the SIM cards can be swapped without issue.
Keep in mind the SIM card only contains your AT&T subscriber information, and will only switch over the number associated with the phone.
Your Contacts, Apps, Music and all other content will not carry over with the SIM.
You can however restore the iPhones through iTunes and choose to restore from your respective backups to swap the info over.

  • Can I switch sim cards between activated iPhone 4 and activated iPhone 4S?

I have an iPhone 4 16Gb full of music.  I just received a new iPhone 4S which I've already activated.  I want to give my wife my iPhone 4 but I want to keep my telephone number.  Can I just swap the sim cards?  Are there any issues?

The first iPhone 4 was mine.  My wife doesn't have a phone at all.  It's on AT&T.  I've only had it for a few months and have upgraded it to IOS 5.  When the iPhone 4S came out, I decided I wanted one.  I decided to order a 4S for myself and give my wife my iPhone 4.  I received the 4S today and activated it with AT&T.  They are currently on separate plans, both on my account and at the end of the billing cycle I plan to put them on a "Family Plan".
Are there any other pertinent details that may have a bearing on whether I can swap the sims or not?  The goal is simply for me to keep the original phone number from the iPhone4 by switching it to the 4S.  If it's going to be any hassle at all, I'll just give my wife the 4 as is and tell my company my new phone number.  It's not that big a deal to me.
My ultimate goal is to ditch my land line and change my wife's iPhone number (whichever one it ends up being) to the number we currently have on the land line so she can keep getting calls from her friends, which amounts to 99% of the calls we get at on the land line.  I only get calls from her on my cell phone so changing my number is not a big deal.

  • Can i switch my computer to a different apple ID

I just bought a MAC mini, The problem is  I now have multiple apple id's.
I had an old one for my iTunes that I forgot about because my PC went down several years ago.
I purchased an iPhone and used my e-mail address for the apple ID. I have been able to
recover my old apple ID that was not used for a long time. expect now I have all my purchased music
on the old  ID saved on the cloud (by assuming Apple set it up for me while the id was not being used).
When I tried to play the music from the cloud from my old ID, I got a message that stated
"This computer is already associated with an Apple ID"
"You can not download from a different apple Id for 90 days"
Also there was a transfer button available which I did not select.
    What did that  mean?
Does this mean in 90 days I will be able to get my old music on my new MiniMac.
    Thanks for any help.

You will have to wait 90 days. See:

  • Can I switch my phone number between two lines(not just between phones)?

I have 4 months left on my current plan. I would like to take advantage of current holiday sales to get the droid razr for cheap. I am considering adding an additional line to my plan to get the upgrade. The problem with this is that I either have to use the new number and let my other contract end or continue on with my current number and pay for 2 lines for the next 2 years. I noticed that verizon lets you switch the phone number that is associated with your line. Would I be able to add an additional line to my plan and then switch the numbers between these two lines? Essential line A has number A and ends in 4 months, line B has number B and ends in 20 months, and I want to make it so that line B has number A and then only pay for line A for the next 4 months. Is this possible?

Verizon does not allow you to switch numbers since they are tied to your contact. However, there's a work around, because Verizon does allow you to port a number from another carrier to overwrite the existing number without changing your contract. So here's what you need to do:
    1. Get the Razr cheap like you wanted on a secondary line;
    2. Wait for 4 months so your main line contract is up;
    3. Port out your main line number to another carrier, for example, Pageplus;
    4. Wait till your bill cycle is passed and port that number from Pageplus to Verizon, overwrite the number on secondary line.
After step 4 you will have your main number back on the line with the Razr.
