Commission on Sales

D/ Friends,
Scenario is that weu2019re selling thru agent. In sales order sold-to-party is agent & ship-to-party is the end customer. Bill-to-party & Payer is also the end customer. Now the issue is that, we want to give commission to the agent in the sales order. How it can be done? Also pls tell VKOA settings regarding commission.
u2022 Iu2019ve searched sap-img site, but it was totally unhelpful (as usual).
u2022 Iu2019ve searched the forum also for 2 days but no solution has worked.
u2022 Is Partner Function has to be created for Sales Document Header or Customer master?
u2022 Any userexit has to be created/ edited?
u2022 Is Partner Function- Agent has to be created as Customer or Vendor?
u2022 What shd be the Ctrl Data 1 for the Cond. Typ- Commission?

Hello,
Currently your Invoice' Accounting Entry would be something like this:
Customer A/c Dr. 100
Sales A/c Cr. 100
Now you want to introduce Commission here But the Commission Amount should not change the Sales & Customer A/c postings. If this assumption is correct then follow this:
Insert two Condition Types in your Pricing Procedure as follows:
1. Commission Payable (always Negative)
2. Commission Expences (always positive)
Create required GL Accounts & maintain VKOA settings.
The rate of both the above Conditions would be same say 10%.
Now your Invoice's Accounting Entry would be:
Customer A/c Dr. 100
Commession Expences A/c Dr. 10
Sales A/c Cr. 100
Commission Payable A/c Cr. 10
Now, as Commission is an Sales Expence, it (Debit entry of Commission Expences) would directly hit Profit & Loss A/c (like other Expences of Rent, Interest etc...)
For the Credit Charge of Commission charge the End-User will have to manually pass an Accounting Entry which would be as such:
Commission Payable A/c Dr. 10
To Vendor A/c Cr. 10
The above entry would clear the Commission Payable A/c & create a liability of Rs. 10 in Vendor's account.
We have implemented the above scenario at a client site & they are successfully using this arrrangement.
As you are already entering Partner Function of Vendor in Sales Order / Invoice, you can anytime create a Z-Report for Commission Payable to each Vendor over a period of time...

    Sales commissions can be configured frm SD if they are simple in nature. This is done through rebates. If the commission and management is complex in nature then it can be done through ICM ( Incentives and Commissions Management )
    The following procedure details the configuration of the Sales commission for Employee. The problems could e at any one of the following steps.
    You need to create a partner function for sales employee, a copy of the standard partner function available in SAP. Then do the appropriate partner determination, that is assignment to the sales document and item partner determination procedure. Next step is to create master data for all your sales employees as Vendors, assign these masters you created to the sales order at item level.
    We can see the orders sales employee wise in VA05 provided we add the sales employee partner function in the index list under sales and distribution, sales, lists, set updating of partner index.
    In the  pricing procedure, we need to maintain a condition for sales employee commissions and choose whether you want to enter the commissions percentage manually or prefer automatic determination. Here we need to get an input from the client as to whether they have fixed or variable commission percentages.
    Create an accrual account key for this and assign it to the condition type in the pricing procedure and remember that the condition type in the procedure should be statistical and not relevant for printing.
    Next step is to make the settlements after the Invoices have been posted and the relevant commissions accrued to a G/L Account.
    Now settlements could be manual as well as automatic. If you choose to make automatic settlements, there needs to be a ZREPORT which makes a vendor payment posting or if the settlement is manual, you need to might be run a BDC periodically to post the invoices for the so called Vendors (Sales Employee)

  • Incentive / Commission to Sales Employee Or Sales Representative

    Dear SD friends,
    I am working on a scenario wherein we have to make incentive payments as a % of sales value to a sales employee .
    I think that we can use rebate agreements to accomplish this.
    I have gone through the SAP Incentive and Commission management application and find that it is too cumbersome for only this scenario.
    If any of you have done similar configurations, kindly help.

  • Calculate commission in Sales Order during milestone billing

    Hi,
    During milestone billing of a customer project, my client wants to track commission for engineers doing work on a project
    but i'm not sure how to go about it.  This is my scenario:
    I have a fixed-price project of $200
    The work is allocated to different engineers like so:
    Engineer A  is allocated 20% of the work on the project.... $200
    Engineer B is allocated 30% of the work on the project .... $300
    Engineer C is allocated 50% of the work on the project .... $500
    The milestone billing is like so:
    Bill the customer 25% during Phase 1 of the project (before any actual work is done)....$250
    Bill the customer 50% during Phase 2 of the project ....$500
    Bill the customer 25% during Phase 3 (final phase) of the project ...$250
    During the lifetime of the project, the customer may get billed BEFORE any work has been done.
    Or vice versa, the engineer may have done the work but my client hasn't billed the customer for that work.
    However , if the engineer has done work for a particular month, my client needs to give him credit for the work that he has done (i.e. give him commission and pay him for it) EVEN if my client hasn't billed the customer for that work.
    ex:
    Month                               Bill customer                                             Allocated work (to Engineers)
    June                                 $250 (Phase 1)                                        Engineer A does 20% of work....$200
    July                                  $500 (Phase 2)                                        Engineer B does 30% of work....$300
    August                              no billing                                                  Engineer C does 50% of work ......$500

    The problem is that i can only calculate the commission for an engineer during billing. BUT what happens when i haven't
    billed the customer yet? I still want to give Engineer C credit for the work that he has done in August so that I can pay
    him for his August work.

    Hi SAP Gurus,
    I am having a requirement where an agent of company supplies an end customer and on sales he gets some commission on sales.
    so how to configure this process in SAP. I have gone through all the earlier postings in all the portals and tried most of them, but unfortunately non of the suggestions worked out. So if any one had configured such a requirement then kindly let me know with your business process. I am trying to get the commission paid to an agent through standard Rebates, but we can not enter an agent as Rebate recipient. If you have gone for development, even kindly inform me.

    Thanks for your valuable suggestion. 
    I have done as per your suggestion earlier as well, but at the time of rebate creation, I am getting the below error.
    "Customer belongs to customer group Z001 and thus cannot be the sold-to party".
    Z001 is the newly created account group (copied from 0003 - Payer). I assigned the agent, whom i created with reference to Z001 account group and assigned to the sold to party of 0001account group.
    Is there any standard settings, I need to do before creating rebate.

      Hi i need to maintain sales rep field in sales order. To enter sales rep name or his employee id in sales order like we enter sold to party in sales what i need to be done, do i need to take ABAPER help or is there any standard functionality. But i know that i  have creat Partner funtion for sales rep and maintain at sales header level.
    other doubt is to assign commission for sales rep what are the setting need to be done.     We are tyring to capture one scenario where there are 10 sales representative in a retail store,
    When sales happen, depending upon which sales rep helps the customer, he would get some commission on the total sales value.
    This we want to achieve it through the POS simultation (Tcode-WPUK),
    How the sales representative is created ?( through PA30 or through the XD01 with account group Sales Representative)
    Is this sales representative same as the one shown in picture??(Screenshot-WPUK)

    I am working on ECC 6
    Here is one typical scenario where business is refered by agent.
    And sales order is created for customer. We need to calculate commission for sales amount.
    we have customer as a sold to party / ship to party / bill to party / payer.
    We have Agent as a partner with partner function as Agent (ZA)
    we have assigned this partner (agent) in the customer master.
    customer and agent both have seperate reconciliation account
    In pricing, condition type ZCOM is created for commission. ZCOM will calculate commission.
    My question is how to make amount in ZCOM hit reconciliation account of agent and not customer???
    please guide .

    Even I am working on a similar requirement / Business Process.
    The key issues that I am facing are:
    1) The condition type that I made is with Condition class A - discount & surcharge. It is altering my net value even though I had put the condition type at the end of the pricing procedure and had put relevant "from - to" for both Net value 1 & this condition type as well. If I make it statistical, then it does not alter the net value. But then how I will be able to hit the G/L account if a condition type is made statistical. Please advice ?
    2) How this Agent Commission will be shown in Accounting Document as we want the customer account to show / pay the full amount i.e Net value + Taxes. And the Commission Accrual Expenses A/c to show debit and the Agent A/c to show credit.
    Request you to please provide your valuable advice on this.

  • Commission calculation on the basis of sales

    Hi All,
    I want to map the following scenario in canadian payroll. please help me to find the document to support this scenario.
    The sales person(s) are paid in two ways:
    1.  Base pay by the hour
    2.  Greater of base pay by the hour or commission (if sales for the hour is
    greater than target (target can be any number, depending on store and day of
    week ... target could be $1000 between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM.  But between
    5:00 PM and 6:00 PM (peak hour) this could be $4000 - $6000; If sales
    person sells $6000 during peak, than that hours wages is the commssion wage
    which could be $60 for the hour and the base pay could be $10 for the hour.
    So the higher of the two is the $60 figure.

               This is something which you have to co-ordinate wth your SD consultant, As per my knowledge as your SD consultant to check whether they have defined sales employee as partner function, so that sales order is generated against the sales person with date and time. Inorder to update in HCM you have provide necessary details for ABAP developer to develop a custom programme to update employee comission as per the sales order data.

    there are two ways:
    1. near-realtime, which is easier. Use SQL queries to get the information from real time tables from ICM. The information is not really realtime, since it is updated in 5-10 seconds interval.
    2. CTI monitor, which might be challenging. Use the CTI interface of ICM to 'subscribe' for all/selected events, including state changes and then do your calculations. It's realtime, but again, programming it may take a while.

    Here is some more information.
    Specifications:  You are to write an application that determines the commission earned for sales agents.  You must verify that the sales amount that was entered is indeed numeric.  If it is not, display a message box with an appropriate error
    message, select the text, and allow the user to re-enter the data.  The Sales amount must be numeric and must be greater than or equal to 0. When a valid numeric sales amount has been entered, calculate and display the commission (10% commission). 
    The application should also accept the sales agent’s first name and last name.  When the calculation for the commission is calculated, also display the label “Commission for first name last name” as entered in the textboxes.
    If there is no name entered, display only the word ‘Commission’.
    If either the first or the last name is entered… display the phrase ‘Commission for ****’ using either the first or last name.
    When both the first and the last name are entered, display ‘Commission for Bill Gates’ where Bill is the first name and Gates is the last name.  ~ really any first name and last name should work!!
    Consider logical tab sequence and data alignment.
    The Clear button should clear all data (entered and calculated).  The Exit button should Exit the application.
    Set appropriate accept button and cancel button.  Set appropriate access keys.
    When a first name, last name or sales amount value is entered, clear all calculated display areas.
    Use the standard Microsoft naming conventions for all controls.
    Include appropriate comments in your code.

  • Sales commission handling

    I would like to know in general, how to handling the sales commission. For example, the salesman will get 5% commission for sales order A. In financial side, how to capture those commission expense. Is it add this commission in the invoice condition price? Thanks!

    Create Commission Agent in XD01 with your own Account Group starting with Z.
    Attach in the customer master of Sold to Party created in XD01 with Account Group 0001 the Commission Agent you created with your own Account Group starting with Z.
    Raise a sale order through VA01 and check the partner functions. For Sold to Party the Commission Agent should appear in the Partner Functions.
    Hence Commission Agent will be by default attached to the customers as partners. They will flow to the sale order partner levels.
    If an order is to be delivered through the dealer, then the partners will reamin in the sale order as it is. If not they will be deleted from the sale order partner functions.
    For the purpose of commission payable, we will have rebate agreements in place. Rebate Agreements work on the combination of Customer, Material and Pricing Conditions. We need to maintain 1:1 relationship and can create a rebate agreement and settle the agreememt after the end of the validity period.
    We will use the customer specific rebate condition and this will get activated in the billing document and FI accrual accounts gets updated.

  • Sales Commission Rollups

    We have a sales cube where we put in sales commission % for sales depts (all bank departments dimension) for region (where bank operates, primarily national).
    % are entered against 0 level regions.
    Problem is when users pull percentages for parent time members ( such as quarters) the percentages for months addup. So for e.g if I have entered 2% for Jan, Feb and Mar, Quarter 1 % is showing up as 6% since months roll into quarters in the time dimension. We want Quarter 1 to show a percentage that is either inputed or calculated based on formula.
    What could be the solution ?

    @TimG: correct, I cannot change the consolidation levels to ~ for the reason you mentioned.
    What we want to see at the consolidated levels is this:
    When looking at intersections of zero level members for all dimensions: we just want to see the commissions entered.
    When looking at intersections of zero level members for a time dimension rollup such as quarter, we want to see sales commission % data as the month (this is where TIME BALANCE solution would work).
    BUT when looking at sales commission % for a consolidated region, consolidated department for a quarter, we want a formula applied. In other words, when looking at a region which involves a region or department that is NOT level 0, we want to apply a formula.
    Any ideas appreciated.

    requirement is to allocate the sales employee commission based on the per kilometer the transport travelled from company to customer place. We have the field in route where we maintain the distance, can i use this field to calculate the commission per km.

    Actually the need is that company is transportation services business and pays the sales team commission on the basis of business generated.
    The commission paid to the employee is based on the distance that the truck travels says for eg, per km Rs.3 as commission, as the earning for the company is also in terms of Per Km rate.
    Each employee who brings business will be paid commission.
