  • Controlling Document Not Getting Posted

    Dear All,
We have a peculiar scenario of Controlling Document not getting posted. Any pointers on wat could be the issue will be highly helpful.
    Scenario:
We have an interface which posts an accounting document.
    Dr. Expense
    Cr. Balance Sheet.
The Cost Center is supplied thru the interface and FI document and Profit Center Document is posted without any issues. However, CO document is not generated, not sure wat could be the issue. We have performed the basic checks. Also, for the same expense account, we observe some postings have gone into CO where are some didnt'. The difference between documents posted with corresponding CO and documents without corrsponding CO posting is only the "Transaction Key". When we maintain blank Transaction key.. the system posts CO document, when transaction key is "WRX" for that specific GL the system doesn't post.
Not sure why Standard SAP behaves like that. Please advice wat items i need to check to resolve
    this.
    regards
    Diwakar

    Hello,
Make sure in OBYC, for key WRX, you have maintained the GL accounts.

  • Controlling Document not posted upon GRS of PO with account assignt type A

My company is going to upgrade our SAP ERP system from version 4.6C to ECC5.
In version 4.6C, when a Purchase Order (PO) is created and assigned to:
    (1) project wbs element
    (2) asset
Upon GRS, the following accounting documents are normally posted:
    (1) Accounting document
    (2) Profit center doc.
    (3) Spec. purpose ledger
    (4) Asset transaction
    (5) Cost accounting doc.
Following, if I want to view the Actual Cost line items posted for the project wbs element in mind, I am able to view the details via transaction CJ74.
However, in ECC5, simulating the same scenario as described earlier, i.e. a Purchase Order (PO) is created and assigned to:
    (1) project wbs element
    (2) asset
Upon GRS, the following accounting document is NOT posted:
    (1)Cost accounting doc.
(which in ECC5 is termed Controlling Document)
As a result, I am unable to track the Actual Cost line item of the wbs element via transaction CJ74.
This is because in normal instances, a corresponding CO document posted for the FI document posted upon GRS. What I understand is that CJ74, pulls data from CO tables and because CO tables aren't updated, I can't view this statistical cost postings.
I would appreciate if anyone could advise the following:
    (1) Why this occurs in ECC5
    (2) How to rectify the problem
    Thank you.

    Hello,
Make sure in OBYC, for key WRX, you have maintained the GL accounts.

  • Exchange rate problem in controlling document

    Hi Friends
I have posted CJ45 (over head run) and posted documents in cost center and pca.
we wanted to know which exchange rate was taken for posting in different currencies (Controlling area and PCA).
Can any one please help me any table where can we find co document posted amount with exchange rate considered?
    Advance thanks!
    GK

    Hi,
Controlling Document can be checked in Table COEP (CO Object line item table).
    PCA: Table GLPCA
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,

  • Exchange rate for controlling document.

    Hi,
We have 3 currencies in total, 1 local  2 other currencies in USD. During posting system automatically converts local currency amount into USD based on exchange rate available. suppose if this USD amount is manually changed during posting and posted, controlling document (cost center document) is still considering the exchange rate available in system and not manually changed amount. This is leading difference between FI and CO in USD amount where as Local curr amount matches. I checked all the controlling settings.. versions etc to avoid this, but couldnt succeed. Can some one advise if this is standard behavour ? can this be changed by some customisation ?
    thanks

    HI
Yes this is the way SAP works.  You need to reconcile with local currency . However if you want to reconcile with other currency too , you can use the same rate which is being used for transfer of the data into CO. You may have Audit issue in such case , however currency re valuation will take care this aspect too .

  • Create a controlling document

    Hi all,
does anyone knows who can I create a controlling document using a function module o tcode transaction?
I've created a FI document using FIDCC2, but no controlling document is generated, so I need to create it.
    Regards.

    Hi,
Well, if you fill COBK, that actually will be manual creation of CO document If you have no other choice, you can try it. But I guess, you will have to fill COEP as well, and then you will have problems with totals tables. I'd be reluctant to do this...
Try to analyze the situation why the CO document was not created in the first place... Refer to note 158781.

  • Legal Control : Document Type Mapping not Maintained

Getting an error SAP GTS :Legal Control : Document Type Mapping not Maintained ,while creating order in feeder system .
I checked the configuration maintained SAP Global Trade ServicesSAP Compliance ManagementGeneral SettingsDocument StructureAssignment of Document Types from Feeder Systems-Assign Document Type at Feeder System Group Level
Similarly I checked for item category.
Please let me know what further configuration have to be maintained for correcting the error.
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi,
The document type mapping is required in R/3 system too. You have to maiatain order type say OR/TA in R/3  below path
IMG--> Sales and Distribution --> Foreign Trade/Customs --> SAP Global Trade Services - Plug-In --> Control Data for Transfer to SAP Global Trade Services --> Configure Control Settings for Document Transfer --> SDOA.
Note: If you maintain OR in R/3, you will have to maintain same in GTS. if you maintain TA in R/3, same maintain in GTS.

  • Which table field stored the exchange rate for controlling documents?

    Hi,
May i know which table field stores the exchange rate used for a controlling document?

    Hi,
The exchange rate is not specifically stored in CO. In table COEP, the data in transaction currency, object currency and controlling Area currency is stored. You can derive the exchange rate from here.

  • SAP not making Controlling Document at the time of MIRO

    Dear Guru!
I have a very peculiar problem which I believe is an error in SAP.
My problem is that at the time of implemenation of MM the company doesnt have a store. so company ask the consultant to override GRN process and process everything through invoice and all the stock will be charged out to a cost center.
Now when the invoice of Cost Center (MIRO w/o GRN) is process, SAP doesnt create a controlling document and because there is no controlling document, the company cannot get the cost wise detail.
Now my question is, if I cannot get a cost center wise data, how can I get that entry. Can I do any entry to get that data or what should be a solution I can tell to my company.
    Regards
    Shah

    Hi,
First of all the Controlling Mudule have to be activated. Now you are charging all your stock to cost center, so first of all you will have to use the Account Assignment Category K in Purchase Order. Yoou will also have to configure the Account Assignment Category in configuration. You can configure it via OME9. In this setting, Set the only Invoice Reciept Indicator, because you are not making MIGO Docs.
Now another condition is, you will have to charge all your stock to particular one GL Account so you will make the Cost Element for that GL as Cost Element Category 1. Now that Cost Element have to be assigned to OKB9 and cost center will be assigned there. Do not tick Profitibilty Segment because you are not going to create the document for COPA. So this is the general configuration for Creating CO Document.
Main thing is, you must check the Controlling Area Settings twise.
I hope it found useful to you.

    Jigar

  • Edit Controlling Document

    Experts,
I need to make changes to a controlling document - I see the document i need to make changes in KSB1. When i double click on it, it actually shows me a material document and the movement type is 261.
So what does movement type 261 mean ? and coming to the change, i need to change the functional area of this document. It is blank, where as it needs to be 3 - How do i do that ?
All answers would be duly appreciated and rewarded with points.
    Thanks,
    Nandita

    Hi,
U can assign the functional area in the GL master then automatically it will pick from GL for that
    particular entry.
Functional area is also having same functions of Cost center it is mainly used in the cash and fund flows.

Can any body tell me how to switch off Controlling Documents.
Because our requirment is when there is any invetory positing system should not created Controlling Documents.
    Thanks in advance,

don't create the GL accounts that the inventory movements are posting to as costing elements. you won't get any CO documents then.
