Cost centre wise budgeting

Can any one explain how to do budgeting cost centre group wise?

I have a question.
The purpose of the cost centre is to control the cost at different levels. If the budgeting is not done at the cost centre level but at the cost centre node than is it better to make the node as the cost centre instead of the multiple cost centre below it.
E.g in the present scenerio the budgeting is done at cost centre node level. There are 7 cost centre below this node. Now one of the cost centre is taken as the representative and the major expenses as Power and Direct labor are put in this. Other petty expenses are directly put in the respective cost centre.
Is this a good pactice. Also at present they are not having full CO implementation. They do not have the assessment and distribution cycles.
Please suggest that if there is large no of Cost centre than what will be the impact when complete cost centre accounting, Product costing, PA and PCA will be implemented in ECC 6.0.

This issue has been answered several times: you do not have a budget control on cost centres, but you can do a workaround.
a) create statistical ordersand assign them to relevant cost centres
b) budget those orders
c) create a validation in CO not allowing posting to the cost centres without providing internal order
Thus, you will have a budget control on cost centre level.

Check in T Code MB51 for 201 movement,by mentioning the plant and the date ranges,Execute and if you are unable to find the
cost center in the report means,click on change variant and include the required fields.
at table level check in MSEG and for 201 movement type.

How to add budget cost centre wise ?

I have created 5 dimentions and various cost centres with in each dimentions.
dimenstions are as follows.
1.Product
2.Employee
3.Department
4.Zone
5.Branch
Now I want to enter budget by profit/cost centres defined within this dimentions and then wish to see various reports like Balance Sheet / Profit & Loss Report by filtering on Dimension.

When you talk about size, you refer to segments of general ledger accounts? ..
If so, the logic of the budgets will allow this because this is precisely geared to the general ledger accounts.
Otherwise, it is not possible to my knowledge, filter under a different concept.

I have an option which i am guessing is in T.Code-7KE1 you can give ur controlling name> give the layout name>version>from period>to period>fiscal year>co.code>profit center>account number>free in Entry down>select in top 2nd buttion period screen (F6) and ENTER so now you can give ur budget cost element wise for each and every month.

AFAB - Ordinary Depreciation Distribution Cost Centre wise
Dear All
I need to distribute ordinary depreciation values for each cost center wise in GL.
I have setup,
1. Cost Centers in Asset Masters
2. Create GL account with cost element without assigned default cost center
3. ACSET configuration for Cost Centers (KOSTL)
When I processed AFAB that given an error as
Account 5012117 requires an assignment to a CO object
when assigned default cost center to cost element then AFAB is running and depreciation value accumulated one cost center in GL.
Please advice to over come this problem.

1. In ACSET, did you choose "Depreciation posting" or "Acquisition posting" against KOSTL
You should choose both i.e. Create 2 entries for KOSTL in ACSET
2. In ACSET, hope you have checked the check box in the last column

Cost Centre Budget monthly spread not available
Hi All,
Under financial ---budget setup--budget
I can select a GL account and cost centre (cost acc/distribution rule) and enter an annual budget. However I cannot get the window to open up so I can divide the annual budget month wise. This is available for the main account budget not the cost centre budget. Is there anyway to distribute a cost centre annual budget manually into monthly amounts. Each month will have unique amount so predefined method cannot be used to divide.

I am afraid that predefined distribution methods are the only way to divide an annual budget month wise. In addition to that, as you point, predefined distribution methods can only be assigned to an account and not to a cost center.

Cost Centre Limits & available balance as per budget - during PR Process
While creating PR, the user wants the following view after entering the Cost Centre
Total utilised / availed amount as per budget
The available balance amount as per budget
Is it possible? Is there any options / views are available to view this facility?
I suggest that it can be possible only view the Commitment Item separately through
GL Balance view FS10N by Cost Centre wise. The concerned user is meant for
MM activities only.
I think Creating PR is the standard transaction. If the options are not available, shall we develop?

I have put original budget on a WBS thorough CJ30.. Now i want to put budget for a particular cost elemtent monthwise for that WBS. How can i do this?

Cost Element wise Budget is not there in SAP. these are the possiable soluation for your Quarry.
1. Cost Element wise Planning is Possiable, but is different from the Budget.
2. But a valadition for Each Cost Element to Internal Order link, then Create a Budget for Internal Order. in this way you will get
Internal Order Budget based on Cost element.

I have a number of users who recieve a budget report. The query in the report is restricted by a variable on Cost Centre. There is an authorisation logged against the user in RSECADMIN for cost centre so when the report runs it knows they only have authorisation to view budgets for that specific cost centre.
However I want to design another report that shows overtime spend for all cost centres. If I give the users authority to view overtime spend for all cost centres the budget report restriction fails e.g. they have now got access to all cost centres and see all budgets.
Is there anyway around this?In that case it is very simple and yes you can separate both authorizations.
In RSECADMIN built two authorizations:
Aut_1:
Cost_center: only the cost centers the user should have
0TCAACTVT: 03 (display only)
0TCAIPROV: <The_InfoProvider_the_query_restricted_by_only_some_profit_centers_in_here>
0TCAKYFNM: * (all key figures)
0TCAVALID: * (Valid for ever)
Aut_2:
Cost_center: * (all cost centers)
0TCAACTVT: 03 (display only)
0TCAIPROV: <The_InfoProvider_the_query_restricted_by_all_profit_centers_in_here>
0TCAKYFNM: * (all key figures)
0TCAVALID: * (Valid for ever)
Give both authorizations to the user. When the user opens the query built on the InfoProvider that exist in Aut_1, the system will retrieve the Aut_1 authorizations values, therefore, only some Cost Centers.
When the user opens the query built on the InfoProvider that exist in Aut_2, the system will retrieve the Aut_2 authorizations values, therefore, all Cost Centers.
This is because, the systema builds union on 0TCAIPROV characteristic. If they are different, then, different values are granted as you wish.

and activated committment management. But while passing expense entry more than 10000 system is not giving error/warning message.

There is no availability control for budget in cost centres. The budget serves purely for reporting purposes.
However, you can pull a trick, by creating statistical internal orders, linking them to relevant cost centres, making budget configuration for those I/O and, then, creating a validation in OKC7 not allowing posting to the relevant cost centres without those I/O.
