Hello Experts,
I have to create about 450 PAs, and PA-PSA combination of about 600 entries.

    Obra,
Is there an existing Personnel Area to copy? If not, search though SAP web sites for direction. If so, go through the IMG as you have.
Double click the activity u201CCopy, delete, check personnel areau201D.
Press the u201CCopyu201D button. Press u201CEnteru201D.
Provide the Personnel Area to be copied.
Provide the Personnel Area to be created.
Press u201CContinueu201D. Press u201CEnteru201D three times.
    Then SAVE.
There will be a delay while the system copies the record.
    Press the u201CEnteru201D button.
    Press the green u201CBacku201D arrow.
Double click the activity u201CPersonnel areasu201D.

Enter the newly created u201CPersonnel Areau201D, and then press u201CEnteru201D.
Select the Personnel Area, and then press the u201CDetailsu201D button.
    Change the appropriate fields.
Press the last button on the tool bar that resembles an envelope.
    Maintain what is required.
    Then SAVE.
The navigation path supplied earlier also leads to Personnel Subareas, Employee Groups, and Employee Subgroups. These may already be defined. If not, you need may help brainstorming the ultimate requirements for the future. One of the things to consider is whether or not you are now or will be using the Payroll module. Personnel subareas could be used to define the shift on which an employee works if youu2019ll have people doing shift work. Employee group and subgroup fields sound like a good place to define direct and indirect employees.
Navigate as follows to assign a Personnel Area to a Company Code:
Enterprise Structure > Assignment > Human Resources Management > Assignment of Personnel Area to Company Code
If you are running payroll in the US, Personnel Area is the basis for accumulating wage and tax information by legal entity. The Tax Company Code is SAP terminology for the legal entity. To assign a Personnel Area to a Tax Company Code, navigate as follows:
Payroll > Payroll: USA > Tax > Tax Companies > Assign tax company to personnel area
You may find the following Wiki helpful, although it doesnu2019t directly relate to creating Personnel Areas. The URL is:

  • Personnel Area Config

    Hi Gurus,
I need some good info on how to go about creating personnel areas, (and importantly), what are the important configuration involved in creating them.
A good link or some good material on it through email would be awsome.
    Thanks,
    Vivek

    Hi All,
Thanks a lot for the links, though I have gone through it before.
Could you please help me with this:
Suppose I copy a Personnel Area from an existing PA. What could be  the possible checks and manual config I would need to do to ensure smooth functioning.
For example, in payroll rules, would I need to go through every rule, and check if any hardcoding for personnel areas is done? What could be the other possible thing involved?
This answer would be really helpful.
    Thanks,
    Vivek

  • Personnel Area & sub area Creation

    Dear Gurus
Currently We have to create personnel areas for my client which belongs to manufacturing sector.
They have their  , corporate office in y place, registered office in x place , two plant locations which is situated in two other places. my question is should i make these four as personnel areas?
    subarea as department?

    Hi,
See this enterprise structure should be framed in such a manner that they doesn't sabbotage your system as they are the building blocks.
You can create them as follows in any of the manner .
Example 1: Here Corporate and Plant are treated separately for future requirements for e.g in company 1111 more corporate offices like branch & registered offices are to be mapped and in plant more plant locations need to be added , so in future if someone wants the complete data of corporate and plant then they can fetch it based on Personnel Area.
    Company Code : 1111
    1)  Personnel Area : 1000 (Corporate) ---> Personnel Subarea : 1000 (Corporate Office 1) , 1001 (Corporate Office 2)
    2 ) Personnel Area : 2000 (Plant ) -
    > Personnel Subarea : 2000 (Plant Location 1 ) , 2001 (Plant Location 2)
Example 2: +Here Corporate and Plant are considered as different locations of same company and henceforth are clubbed under one personnel area.
    Company Code : 1111
    1) Personnel Area : 1000 (Company) ---> Personnel Subarea : 1000 (Corporate) , 1001 (Plant).
Similarly you can opt for second company also . It mostly depends on how you want to group them as many of groupings are based on Personnel Area/Subarea in PY (Payroll) , TM( Time Management) and other HR modules.
Hope this answer will be useful.

  • Create new Personnel Area

    Hi Gurus,
Need some help with creating a New personnel Area on HCM module.
I know how to define and assign a Personnel Area. But need some further infomation on any other nodes that need to be modified when creating a new PA.
    Any help will be welcome.
    Keshini

    Hello,
Personnel Sub area has to created in Personal Arae(While creating PSA system asks you under which PA),that is the assignment also.
Then Employee Group & ESG has to created.
Finally Assignment of Personnel area to Company Code & Employee sub group to Employee group.
After creating Enterprise Structure, you have to clearly define you Organization str with PPOC_OLD or PPOC.That will complete your Complete organizational view in reporting strwise also.

  • New plant created, how to create/configure personnel area & sub area for it

    Hi Gurus,
I am very new to SAP HR, our clinet has plans to open a new plant for their organization.
Now we need to create a personnel area and personnel sub area.
Can you please explain how to configure the Personnel area and sub area through SPRO for the new plant?
Also, is it neccessary to assign the newly created PA and PSA to already present employee subgroups?
    Thanks in advance.
    Akash.

    Hi,
You can create PA & PSA thru
    spro : Enterprise structure - Definition - HRM - PA & PSA
spro : Enterprise structure - Assignemnt - HRM - PA to CC.
There is no direct relationship between a plant and PA&PSA info.
You can either create PAs inline with your plants or not.
It depends on your firms's enterprise structure.
There is no assignemnt between PA & PSA and employee groups.
You need to only assign newly created PA to company code.
    Regards,
    Dilek

  • Form fields appear normal on my computer, but are too large on client's computer

I recently created a fillable PDF using Acrobat Pro for a client. I have done this many times before, and never had any issues with formatting.  On my computer, the fields appear perfect, but on the client's computer they are too large and obscure the surrounding text.  Please see the first screenshot for reference. Notice the large white form field on the left side.  He has viewed the document both on a Mac (in Preview) and on a PC (Acrobat Reader) and had the same problem.   The following is a screenshot of the same file on my computer:
On my computer, the name field appears to fill normally.  Does anyone have any idea why this is happening, and what I can do to fix it?
    Thanks!
    Jeanne

That person is using Preview and not Adobe Reader or Acrobat. Preview's support for PDF forms is dismal and it should not be used. It actually corrupts PDF forms (and other PDFs) in a number of ways, so that particular file should not be used again. If they don't want to install Reader, there's not much you can do.

  • Create personnel subareas

    Hi experts,
I just enrolled the course SAP HR module and hope you won't think my questions too stupid.
I tried to create my personnel subareas from SPRO's enterprise structure. This was what I wanted to do:
    Personnel area: 0000
    Personnel subarea: 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06 (all under personnel area 0000)
However, I kept getting an error message: "01 doesn't not exist in (check entry)" when I tried to create personnel subarea 01.
Do you know what was the problem and how should I fix it? Thanks in advance.
    Catherine Sum
P.S. Sorry I just finished my third SAP HR class, please give me step by step instructions if possible.

    Hi Catherine
    Are these defined in V_T001P
Before you can use the HR system the way you want to you have to ensure the IMG (SAP Implementation
Guide - transaction SPRO) is completed
It is possible one of the IMG steps will require you to check or update V_T001P
    Best regards
    Stuart

  • Posting Document Split by Personnel Area

PC00_M99_CIPE transaction has default posting variant SAP and this variant splits the posting document by based on company code.
Is there anyone who can guide me how to create new posting variant which uses the Personnel Area? Is this possible?
    Thanks in advance!

during the posting you cannot do a split.
    base is company code.
if you need a split based on personnel are you can only do this via ppmod.
because how should it look like after the posting

    Hi,
are there any function module to get admin for certain personnel area?
i want to used it in workflow,
to make rule agents for employee within personnel number "A", this workflow will go to admin for personnel area "A"
    thanks

    OK, here's the case.
in our company, we assign people to be the administrator.
    each personnel area has administrator.
    for example
    - PERNER 34010-34050 are in personnel area 4700, with the administrator is user ABC
    - PERNER 34051-34100 are in personnel area 4800, with the administrator is user EFG
so, when employee with personnel number 34010 create travel request, i want the workflow to send notification to admin/user ABC to either approve or reject the request.
    how to do this?
    thanks

  • HR - PERSONNEL  AREA

    HELLO PPL,,,,
I WANT TO CREATE A STRUCTURE WHEREIN ONE PERSONNEL AREA IS IN INDIA AND ANOTHER PERSONNEL AREA BELONGS TO A DIFFERENT COUNTRY GROUPING AND BOTH BELONGS TO THE SANE COMPANY CODE.... BUT I AM NOT ABLE TO DO THIS... CAN WE DO THIS.. OR IS THERE ANY OTHER METHOD TO DO THIS..

    Hi,
In the Enterprise structure the Com Code is linked to PA and PSA
You can create 2 PA under one com code
You need to check the PY. Area linkage to PA also
Now if the Com details are different it is advisible that you create 2 different Co. codes , Also
the statutory details for India and Foreign location will always be different
It depends on your requirement if the employees attached to foreign PA will have Indian Payroll only.
In that case you can have single com code with 2 PA and the mandatory details for the foreign PA can be customized in Z reportering for MIS purpose.

  • Idoc type for personnel area

    Hello Everyone,
Could someone please let me know Idoc type for sending personnel area details.
We want to send Idoc whenever a new personnel area is created / changed in SPRO.
    Best Regards,
    Priyanka Gupta.

    Hello Priyanka,
Use the standard idoc Message Type HRMD_A for master data and then you can included the following code in FILTER_VALUES_SET method of the BADI implementation by T code BD64
    CHECK OTYPE = 'P '.
    *SELECT * FROM PA0001*
INTO PA0001 WHERE PERNR = OBJID
    AND BEGDA <= SY-DATUM
    AND ENDDA >= SY-DATUM.
record is valid today, no authorization check*
    EXIT.
    ENDSELECT.
    IF SY-SUBRC = 0.
    FILTER1 = PA0001-BUKRS. ELSE.
    CLEAR FILTER1.
    ENDIF.
Note: the record you are testing for has your desired company code PGPB.
