EHP4 SPS05 installation on ERP 6.0

Hi,
We are about to start with the EHP4 SPS05 installation on ERP 6.0 quality system which has a CENTRAL and two dialogue instances.
Please can anyone confirm do we need to uninstall dialogue instances after we upgrade the central instances??
As per the document, before dowtime phase starts we need to uninstall the dialog instances and isolate the central instances.
Can i keep my dialogue instances till DOWNTIME phase? Do I need to upgrade dialog instances seperately?
Please can anyone guide me through the exact procedure as to what needs to be followed?

Hello Rozal,
You donot need to uninstall and install the dialog instance again.You only need to stop dialog instance before downtime and restart it after the downtime. Check the following stages from EHP4 installation guide :
Actions During the Preprocessing Roadmap Step

13. Before the downtime [page 72] begins, you stop all dialog instances, stop SAP Management
Console (MMC) and Software Deployment Manager (SDM), stop jcmon and other standalone
monitoring tools, and, if you are running an enhancement package installation in a high
availability system, you stop the Java central instance and SCS instance.
Actions During the Downtime Roadmap Step

5. The installation program asks you to perform the following actions:
n You back up the database.
n You change the database recovery mode.
n You start the dialog instances.
Preparation of SAP System for Downtime (Phase DOWNCONF*)

You are requested in phase DOWNCONF_TRANS at the end of step Preprocessing to perform actions that
prepare your SAP system for the downtime.
Perform the following actions:
1. Make sure that all production work in the SAP system is stopped and no users are logged on to

3. Isolate the central instance.

HA Installation of ERP EHP4 on AIX and DB2

Dear All,
I have to do a HA installation of ERP EHP4 system on AIX and DB2. I have followed the standard inst.guide from SAP but I want more information. Can anyone help me in understanding how to go about installing HA in detail. I would be very grateful if anyone can provide me a guide/document of what and how they have done. Can you pls explain me the steps.
I also have few questions
1. Shall i do a Central installation or distributed installation ( meaning CI, ASCS and DB in one server failover to other; CI,ASCS on one server and DB running on different server which in case of failure will move to other server)
2. I know that OS team will do the cluster configuration but is there any other software to be bought for an automatic switchover in case of failures?
3. Mainly, as a BASIS consultant what is our role in HA configuration? What file systems should be defined and nfs mounted?

I think you did not get basic of HA installation. Its neither central nor distributed installation. You need to install CI and Dialog Instance locally on 2 nodes. DB and ASCS instance on the disk that will move across 2 nodes.

OS team will do file system config so that file system having ASCS and DB should move across 2 nodes. And rest of the file system should be local.
After installation making cluster movement automatic both OS and SAP Basis guy have to work together.

I would say primary role in HA installation is of Basis guy. Because he is the person who will decide what approach will you take to install HA either active-active or active-passive. Its you on whom requirement OS guy will work.

ERP6 IDES EHP4 fresh installation

Hi,
We need to Install ERP6.0 IDES with EHP4 fresh installation.I have downloaded all the IDES software
My Company's Application Components>SAP ERP-> SAP ERP ENHANCE PACKAGE> EHP4 FOR SAP ERP 6.0 / NW7.01
IDES Version-->Windows Server
My question is can I directly Install ERP6.0 IDES with EHP4 with Installation master 'sapint.exe' ? Or do i need to go through solution manager down xml file and etc..
advice the steps..

The answer is simple if you have the correct files from SAP you will be able to install EnhP 4 via sapinst.exe. You should get a hold of the Master Guides and Installation Documents as they would have anwsered this question for ya. No offense!! Good luck with the installation

EHP4 Reday installation

Hi,
What is the ehp4 ready installation procedure.I have fresh system and ehp4 ready dvd's?what is the flow?
i have read where it said
install ehp4 ready(nw component will be in 7.01 and application component will be in 600) + download patches for ehp4 from mopz + install ehp4 with the patches using sapepi.In this after ehp4 ready installation,if i update any one component say sap_appl to 604 is ok? is system is called ehp4 system at this stage? or do i need to update ehp4 for all application components like ea_appl,finbasis,ea-finserv etc?

I am trying to install Solution manager 7.0 ,ERP 6.0. on windows OS.
and Oracle database.
My OS : Microsoft windows XP Proffessional version 5.1 service pack 3 (32 bit)
RAM Size : 2 GB
Could anyone give me the hardware and software requirements for installations of solution manager 7.0 and ERP 6.0. on windows.

Did you have a look at the PAM as suggest at http://service.sap.com/pam?
Vista/Windows 7 are client operating systems and are not supported for ERP 6.0 or Solution Manager or any other backend.

EWM Installation on ERP as an add on

Dear All,
We are planning for EWM Installation or ERP EHP7 as an Add-on. I have few queries..?
1. Can I directly download the EWM Components and install it without xml via saint?
2. what components do I need to install for EWM ?
3. If the installation need to be via xml can i see the ewm add on components in mopz..?

ERP 6.0 EHP4 IDES Installation

Hi,
I installed erp 6.0 ehp4 ides abap on a 32-bit win 2003 server following Note 1379040 - IDES ERP 6.0 ECC 6.0 incl. EHP4. The note suggests to install like a system copy changing label.asc and copying all the export files to EXP1 directory . ABAP is installed successfully.
Now i want to Install java EHP4 IDES. When i try to run it seperately again like a system copy the sapinst screen does not accept the label.asc in export directory.How do i proceed on this. Can i use the same export DVD i used for ABAP. If anyone has does this please let me know how to install JAVA .

So i understand that i have to install java seperately with another set of DVD's. Do you know if i can install this on a 32-bit machine (JAVA 7.01) ? FYI, i installed abap as a system copy cos it was a 32-bit machine.

SAP ERP ECC6.0 SR3 EHP4 IDES Installation Questions

I have downloaded some IDES SR3 EHP4 installation files from SWDC.
I installed Windows 2003 Server 64 bit, Oracle 10.2.0.4 and Java 1.4 on VMWare.
Now I don't know how to proceed from here because I have some doubt.
1. What Dics Number should I download? Currently I have downloaded 50096277, 51031678, 51036767 UC and Non UC, 51036905, 51036971, 51036972, 51037093, 51037095, 51037622, 51037623.
2. I've seen some post saying ABAP + Java stack cannot be installed in the same SID. If I installed using different SID will it incur additional hard disk space? What need to be done to install both stack in the same machine with different SID?
3. Can anyone provide me a brief installation guide if he successfully installed IDES EHP4 before?

Please check that you would need the following disk for the installation.
Installation master DVD, Export DVD for the IDES,Oracle client ,Kernel DVD, database for oracle DVD(RDBMS) and you shall need the Java software component DVD for the installation.

I think you will have to go with the Mcod installation and the SID fo both ABAP and JAVA should be different .
3. Can anyone provide me a brief installation guide if he successfully installed IDES EHP4 before?
Go to service market place and you shall find the installation guide for the perticular os and the Db for which you are going for the installation.

HA Installation of ERP 6 With SQL 2005 Server Problem.

hi ,
i have two blade server with windows 2003 Enterprise and cluster configure on them as prescribe by the note of Microsoft.
now i have installed MS Sql 2005 Server as said by the SAP Documentation on first node and it was sucessfull . after that i installed ABAP (ASCS) SCS on first node and it was installed too . now i am stuck at the process of FIRST MSCS NODE step
the installation note says :-
7.4.5Configuring the First MSCS Node
To configure the first MSCS node so that it functions properly in MSCS, you have to run the cluster configuration option offered by the SAPinst tool. When you run this option it:
Creates the SAP cluster group
Copies tools to the SAPCluster directory
Sets the SAPService to manual
Makes sure that the SAPOsCol service starts from the SAPCluster directory
this says cluster configuration option but i can't find it any where and i don't know how the %windows%/sapcluster dir creates do i have to create it manually if so then how, the sap document says as follows :-
SapCluster Directory
In an SAP cluster installation, an additional directory u2013 %WINDIR%\SapCluster u2013 is created under the system directory.
This contains all the SAP files required by all MSCS cluster nodes, independently of the MSCS node the SAP instance is running on. The files are database tools and program files (executables) used by the operating system monitor (SAPOsCol).
The directory is added to the path variable of the user <sapsid>adm.

Installation mySAP ERP 2005 on Linux SuSe 10

Hello,
I tried to install mySAP ERP 2005 on Linux Suse 10 with 8 GB RAM and enough harddisk space (6 x 250 GB) as a central system. But the Installations stops always in the "Import Abap" step with jobs:
running 3 , wating 22 , completed 13, failed 0 , total 38
No errors are written to the logfiles and there is no progress in the installation, so I have to stop it manually.
Can anyone help me?

Master Installation for ERP 6.0 SP3 does not has central instance

I have a problem to start ERP 6.0 installation. I canu2019t find right version of Installation Master disk. I attempted to use following object: Installations and Upgrades -> SAP Application Components -> SAP ERP -> SAP ERP 6.0 -> SAP NETWEAVER 7.0 (for MS SQL SERVER) - object u201C51033511_11u201D (BS2005 SR3 Installation Master Windows Server on IA32 32bit), but this master does not show folder with Central and Database Instances to install fresh system.
Folder "SAP ERP 6.0 Support Release 3" in SAP Installation Master contains two child folders only. There are "Rapid Configuration" and "Software Life-Cycle Options".
Could anyone give me any suggesions?

The difference between SR2 and SR3 are the pre-installed support package levels, there´s no other difference. If you install SR2 you can patch up your system to the latest patchlevels and you´ll be on SR3.
I though highly recommend using a 64bit system, you may not be able to execute certain functionality because of memory problems.

if you suggest us to use 2003 64 bit for temporaray .... purpose.
and is there any specified procedure to UPgrade OS.
like... DB should be updated before OS upgradation.
You can run 10.2.0.4 on Windows 2003 x64 nicely and upgrade to Windows 2008. Since there is no "upgrade" (it is the highest version supported) there´s no need to do anything.
The question you have to ask is:
Why do you need Windows 2008? Is there any technical implication?

ECC 6.0 with EHP4 fresh Installation

Hello Gurus,
A fresh ECC 6.0 with EHP4 needs to be installed on Wnidows + Oracle Platform, please let me know which of the following path should be followed?
1. SAP NW 7.0 installation (without EHP1) --> EHP 1 installation --> EHP4 Installation
2. SAP NW 7.0 with EHP1 installation --> EHP4 installtion
3. SAP NW 7.0 installation --> EHP4 installation
The other way to ask this questions is what are the dependencies between NW7.0 (ECC 6), EHP1 and EHP4?
Please let me know which of the above options is feasible and recommended. Please let me know a better option if its not present in the above options.

FIORI installation on ERP

Dear Gurus,
I am gonna install FIORI latest version on SAP ECC 6.0 . Could you please guide me? What should i install firstly, should i upgrade ECC 6.0 via solman MOPZ ? From where should i start for this ?
Here is my component versions, should i update sap_basis for FIORI latest version ? So should i go through MOPZ to update related components ?

If you have Suite on HANA ERP 6.0 Ehp7, you can use all 300+ apps.
Please look at each Fiori apps and find required backend version. SAP Fiori Apps - SAP Library.
