Enterprise multiserver option missing during install

Hello,
I've been asked to install Coldfusion 10 Enterprise on a server.
We have a Coldfusion 10 Enterprise upgrade key.
I'm having a hard time to find a place at adobe.com to downlaod the install file.
Finally I downloaded the trial, hoping it would also be the enterprise version after entering the key.
From previous installation documentation of our Coldfusion 8 and 9 servers, during installation, after the screen where the serial is eneterd, I expected to get a screen where I can choose 1.Server configuration 2. Enterprise multiserver configuration or 3. J2EE configuration.
With the downloaded ColdFusion_10_WWEJ_win64.exe I only get the choices Server and JEE.
Do I have the wrong download, or is the Enterprise option left away in the Installation wizard?

Welcome to Adobe Forums.
Instead of JRun, Tomcat is embedded with a stand-alone ColdFusion 10 installation. Previous versions of ColdFusion installer allow you to create multi-server installations whereas ColdFusion 10 installer lets you only install stand-alone installation. After installing ColdFusion in stand-alone mode(server configuration), you can create multiple instances and clusters, provided you have an Enterprise or Developer license.
So in CF 10, you will only find 2 options : 1.Server configuration 2. J2EE configuration.

OWB10gR2 on RAC without Enterprise ETL option

Documentation says that "Without the Enterprise ETL option, you can install the Warehouse Builder repository in a Real Applications Cluster environment for the limited purposes of executing in that environment". What means "limited" ??

I'm probably not really the person you want to hear from, but I have had some experiences in this area that I can share.
I have purchased both the Enterprise ETL and Data Quality options, but while I was negotiating with Oracle on licensing (which took several months) we almost went live with 10.2 without using the options. Honestly, the only really important feature that I had to have was the Configurations. We run 2 separate data warehouses for 2 of our businesses, but both share a common set of code. The configurations allow you to set target specific configurations against the same mappings, tables etc which simplifies deployment significantly for me.
Scheduling has a major shortcoming: you cannot set runtime parameters and unfortunately, I am unable to use it even though it came at quite a price.
I have been through a fair bit of pain with bugs too. I have 5 custom patches resulting from bugs and have 2 more Sev 1 SRs currently open, waiting for patches. Having siad that, considering the scale of changes in 10.2, they have done pretty well for a first release.
If you are using an earlier version of OWB, my opinion is you will be fine with 10.2 without the options. There are some nice features that you will no doubt find useful in the options, but they do come at a price if you have many users or CPUs.

Install Enterprise CA option is greyed out

I'm having issues with the "enterprise CA" option being grayed out during installation of the ADCS role for a 2008 R1 Enterprise Edition server (for a new Ent. Sub. CA). The account I was using had Enterprise Admin rights in the root domain
and Domain Admin rights for the child domain that the CA will be installed into (I don't need root domain admin since I have enterprise admin, right?). The server is already joined to the domain. I verified Enterprise Admins have full control for
Public Key Policy container and all child containers. I have not tried to re-create this as another CA (2003) is online within the same domain/forest - I would prefer not having to do this if at all possible. I tried moving the capolicy.inf out
of windir in case it was getting in the way. I believe I have the firewall cleaned up - is there an official resource that documents how to configure the firewall for just the CA? I'm not installing web services or anything else - this is a dedicated
box.

Missing make files during install

During install on Slackware Linux
recievd error message that it could not
find ins_oemagent.mk and ins_odg.mk

Never mind. I misinterpreted the process. I was thinking there were multiple source rpms.
There is only one src file currently and you just compile that:
rpmbuild --rebuild /rpmbuild/SRPMS/R-3.0.1-2.el6.src.rpm
that creates a number of RPMS. But you only install one of those:
such as:
rpm -i /root/rpmbuild/RPMS/x86_64/R-core-3.0.1-2.el6.x86_64.rpm

Boot Camp is missing after installing windows 8.1

One year ago i installed Windows 8 preview on my macbook air with Boot Camp and it has been working perfect until now.
I downloaded and installed Windows 8.1 full version directly from microsoftstore, but afterwards Boot Camp driver was missing from Windows (from Notification Area and Task Manager->Startup). Then i cant switch back to OS X.
Need help!

Applying all update\patches during 'install software update' step

Hi,
I have created software update group (around 10 updates\patches) and deploy it to 'unknown computers' collection. Ts 'Install software update' step scans through and only installs 2 updates out of 10. I have kept deploy property as 'required' while publishing
on 'unknown computers' and 'install software update' has 'All Software update' selected (other option is mandatory update'). I want to have all the 10 required update to be installed . any idea what should be the settings on 'deploy' prperty for software group
that install all the updates in the group during 'install software update' step? Any pointers will be appreciated

Yes , they need a reboot and reboot is happening automatically. I believe, once reboot is done, other patches should take over with installation. I don't see any information for another updates that are part of same software group. For these 2 succefully
installed updates log has below that indicates they reboot and finish.

Mandatory and optional components during installation of PP and DS of JDEE1

Hi all
I am trying to install Deployment Server and Platform Pack of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne in two different machines.
I have downloaded from edelivery.oracle.com the folders for oracle database and the guide.
On the guide I am reading that for the Platform Pack
Enterprise Server:
Mandatory: JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Foundation
Optional: ES Production, ES Prototype, ES Development, ES Pristine
Database Server
Mandatory: System Database:
Optional: Production Databases, Prototype Databases, Development Databases, Pristine Databases
I have checked up only the mandatory components during install and now I see that the platform pack has not installed any database.
Am I doing anything wrong? Do I have to check up any of the optional components?
Does the Platform Pack work correctly without any database?
The same questions please even for the Deployment Server.
Please help me on this.

do you try to install from a Network share ?
If yes copy the .exe to the local disk of the Server and re- run the Installation routine.
First the package gets extracted to your profile of the user which is logged on the Server. In the TEMP directory directly.
After the package is extracted copy the TEMP dir. from the user to somwhere else (f.e. C:\) and from there run the "setup.exe"

Enterprise CA option not enabled in Windows 2008 R2

I am making new installs of Win2008 R2 for Domain Controller and for separate CA. On the CA-Computer I cannot get "Enterprise CA" option during Install. Greyed out. I have seen the error in c:\windows\certocm log stating "Enumerate_..._no_install_Rights".
I performed "whoami /user /group" and included in the list are Enterprise Admin, Domain Admins, and schema admin. I logged in as domain administrator, to no success; as local CA-computer, to no success; and as created user (ca-admin) making him
member of domain admin, enterprise admin still no success. I saw the thread where WINS was mentioned, and I entered the DC as WINS, still no success. Any other suggestion? This is a new lab forest, with one DC and one other win2008R2 for
CA and one win-7 as client. If I logon the DC and perform add-Role AD-CS on the domain controller, Enterprise CA option is enable, but not from the separated CA-Computer we want to use. Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Just a guess but are you installing the CA on a w2k8R2 Standard edition?
Enterprise CA needs to be installed on a w2k8R2 Enterprise edition, also you have to be enterprise admin as changes on the configuration (forest wide) part of AD are done.
Enterprise CAs (vs Standalone) can be installed on any edition of Windows, the difference between editions is the number of ADCS features and components that can be enabled!

I stand corrected.
The only time I had this is when I was not a member of the enterprise admin group (mind this was not a single forest).
If you do try remember to log out of the server and in again before you start the install.
Also just check that you can do nslookup for the domain you have choosen...nslookup <domainname>
This should return the DC IP you have set up

Enterprise Manager is Missing?!

I have a problem that I can't figure out. I install Oracle 10g on Windows XP Professional. Enterprise Manager is missing... The only program under "Application Development" is SQL Plus. The only programs under "Configuration and Migration Tools" are Database Configuration Assistant, Database Upgrade Assistant, Locale Builder, Net Configuration Assistant and Net Manager. Enterprise Manager was selected during the installation. I went back the second time and did it again, still not there... does anyone know why this might happen? Thank you!

I am also facing a similar problem. I have installed the oracle 10g on window xp professional on my laptop on a wireless network. After installation i was trying to start the enterprise manager from explorer with url http://local_hostname:1154/em . But i could not get the em home page.
After going through Oracle Database pre-installation documentation.
I installed the Microsoft Loopback Adapter.
In Documentation , After installing Loopback Adapter it ask to change file
c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file to make following entry
IP_address hostname.domainname hostname
My question is .
What domain name can i give. I have personal use laptop and can i define a domain name on window xp professional . Currently it under workgroup name and it dosent allow me to change domain name.
Might be because of not able to set domain name i am not able to start the enterprise manager.
Can oracle10g can be started without setting the domain name ?

How to replace ENTERPRISE Server Option by BB Internet Service Option?

On my 8700 there is the ENTERPRISE Server option installed.
As I want to vsend and receive emails from different email account without making use of the BB Enterprise geature I would like to get rid of the Enterprise-program installed and replace it by the Internet Service option.
I wonder whether this would be possible.
Can I replace Enterprice feature by the normal Internet Service?? and how?

The options you are presented with when you start the email configuration wizard are controlled by virtue of the account type you have with your carrier. Given what you describe, it sounds as if you have perhaps on a generic data plan (or perhaps no data plan at all) -- that is normally not sufficient to grant you access to the Blackberry Internet Service that is hosted at your carrier. To enable Personal Email configuration, you must contact your carrier and request what is often (thought not universally) called The Blackberry Data Plan. Whatever it is called, you need a plan from your carrier that grants you access to the enhanced Blackberry services that they host - and you must pay them to access those enhanced services. Once you have that proper account, you will have Personal email as a configuration option (note, though, that Enterprise will not be "replaced"...rather, Personal will be added to the screen).

Ok. I could finde out the Problem.
I uninstalled VMware witht RevoUninstaller and deleted all Vmware sysfolders and all regKeys.
Important note:
The first Installtion was on the 2nd Hard disk on my PC. These Harddisk was Connected via USB3 Port. VMware was successfully installed, and via the standart installation procedure the ISO files could be installed in Vmware, but the problem persist with
WIN2012RT server.
After a new installation of VMware into the Local C: Drive. The Win2012RT.Iso could be installed. With this procedure

Well, my two-month-old MBP has no qualms about booting from a no-name external USB HD I put together...
Given that is is a common point of failure, I would imagine a large Apple Store should keep a stock of HD's on hand.
Now since you're a bit desperate and the genie pops up til Saturday and you seem to be the enterprising kind, let's try an experiment: if you have room enough in the external HD and assuming it isn't a Time Machine volume, why don't you plug it in, stick the Install CD and see if the installer lets you select the external drive as the install target. If you can install Leopard on it, on top of the backup without reformatting, and the Mac can boot from the drive afterwards, at least you would have some functionality restored and would be able to pull your stuff from the internal HD. Apple says booting from USB drives is not supported but that does not equate to not possible; some brands do work. Risks? Always. You can always lose your backup. Like I said, a challenge for an enterprising gal....
Next time around, consider having a bootable external clone at hand for rainy days. I keep three myself...

How to install XE and specify the SID (instead of XE) during install

I would like to use Oracle 10g Express Edition for development purposes but I already have an existing project that requires a specific SID.
I tried following some instructions on asktom.oracle.com on changing the SID but it was disastrous and did not work.
Ultimately I have to rip XE off and reinstall everything because it was so mucked up.
I would like to reinstall XE but during install specify the SID just like I can with Oracle 10g R2 Enterprise Edition.
Can someone please tell me how to do this, and Oracle if you are listening, can you modify XE so that the SID can be specified on install? This one thing is a deal breaker for me and am considering falling back and using postgresql for the initial release of this product instead of Oracle to clients. I am sure many of them would upgrade to Oracle Enterprise edition if I were able to release a product based on XE first.

At the time of installation , you can't change SID XE.
After installation, you can add another service name

Quicktime errors during install, uninstall, or run. No error code. It just says it encountered an error and must exit.

I located a previous response that satisfied my issue. Below is the process that allowed me to use quicktime.
The "fatal error" in this context has (recently) been indicating trouble with old, misplaced QuickTime componentry lurking about in your system.
(Whether or not the message is a symptom of that problem seems to depend on what version of old misplaced stuff is lurking and what version of QuickTime proper we're trying to install or uninstall ... but in recent times, there's been an uptick in fatal errors being caused by that.)
So let's try investigating that possibility first.
First we'll adjust some view settings on the PC.
1. Open My Computer from the desktop or Start menu.
2. In the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
3. Click the View tab.
4. In the "Advanced settings" pane under "Hidden files and folders" make sure that the "Show hidden files and folders" option is selected, and the "Hide extensions for known file types" option is unchecked.
5. Click OK.
Now in "My Computer" open Local Disk C: (or whichever drive your operating system is installed on).
Open the "Windows" folder.
Open the "System32" folder.
What files or folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the file or folder name? (In a standard installation of QuickTime, you should see precisely two files ... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.)

How to disable loud speaker beep during install

Is there a way to disable the the speaker beeping during install? Or at least lower its volume? Its extremely loud. Ive already removed the pcspkr module, but the beeping is still present.
(I reinstall arch often and this is why I'm asking )
