How to configure WebLogic to use TopLink?

I am using BEA Workshop to develop a webservice and I am having some issues to make it work. Basically, I am using Toplink plus JAX-WS. The main problem is how to get the EntityManager from the context in order to persist the data into database.
Here is a piece of code, hope it can help to understand the issue:
Context ctx = null;
     Hashtable ht = new Hashtable();
     ht.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,
               "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
     ht.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL,
     "t3://localhost:7001");
     ctx = new InitialContext(ht);
EntityManager em = (EntityManager) ctx.lookup("persistence/LogicalName");
Thanks!
Diego

Thanks for the info mkeith!
Maybe this can give you a better idea of what I am talking about. I changed a few things based on the tutorials that oracle provides:
I keep getting the following exception when I try to deploy into weblogic:

  • How to configure sendmail to use multiple LDAP servers ?

    Hi everybody!
    I have a sendmail running on Solaris 10 and a LDAP server(192.168.1.9) also running Solaris 10 OS. I have configured the sendmail the following way:
    bash-3.00# ldapclient list
    NS_LDAP_FILE_VERSION= 2.0
    NS_LDAP_BINDDN= cn=proxyagent,ou=profile,dc=email,dc=reso,dc=ru
    NS_LDAP_BINDPASSWD= {NS1}*********************
    NS_LDAP_SERVERS= 192.168.1.9
    NS_LDAP_SEARCH_BASEDN= dc=email,dc=domain,dc=ru
    NS_LDAP_AUTH= simple
    NS_LDAP_SEARCH_REF= FALSE
    NS_LDAP_SEARCH_SCOPE= sub
    NS_LDAP_SEARCH_TIME= 30
    NS_LDAP_CACHETTL= 43200
    NS_LDAP_PROFILE= default
    NS_LDAP_CREDENTIAL_LEVEL= proxy
    NS_LDAP_BIND_TIME= 10
    I also have another LDAP server (IP 192.168.1.10). It is configured as a replicant of the 192.168.1.9 LDAP server.
    The question is how can i configure sendmail to use both LDAP servers ?
    The man pages explain how to configure ldapclient to use ONE server and what if want to use two or more? All the settings and the profiles the same.
    Thanks in advance =))

    Hi!
    To add LDAP servers to the Solaris ldapclient, you might use the ldapclient command:
    ldapclient manual -v -a defaultServerList="servera.yourdomain.com serverb.yourdomain.com"
    But this is only failover, AFAIK the Solaris ldapclient does not perform loadbalancing by itself.
    But I am not sure about your sendmail programm. Normally, sendmail has its own configuration
    and can be configured to use LDAP e.g. for aliases etc.
    Regards!

  • How to configure Firefox to use OpenVPN?

    summary: I'm running OpenVPN from a Debian client through a Debian jumpbox/server. After I [start the server, start the client] most IP-based applications (DNS, ping, ssh) seem to work from the client, but client's Firefox cannot connect to http://www.whatismyip.com/ (or any other URI). How to configure Firefox to use the VPN? or otherwise fix the problem? or further debug it?
    details:
    I have a laptop running debian_version==jessie/sid with Firefox version=33.0 which needs to access a compute cluster. The cluster formerly required only an SSL VPN (enabled by a Firefox plugin) to access, but now has several additional requirements, which I seek to satisfy by running the SSL VPN through a jumpbox running an OpenVPN server. The jumpbox is running a "vanilla" Debian 7.7.
    I have been using the laptop successfully for a few years without network problems. Currently I have the laptop connected by wire directly to an ISP-supplied modem/router. With `openvpn` NOT running on the laptop, I see:
    * `ifconfig` shows no entry='tun0' (just "the usual" entries for 'eth0', 'lo', 'wlan0'), and shows the expected client IP# bound to 'eth0'.
    * I can `ping` my jumpbox/server using its real IP#, but cannot `ping 10.8.0.1`
    * I can `ssh` to my jumpbox/server using its real IP#, but cannot `ssh 10.8.0.1`
    * `nslookup www.whatismyip.com` gives correct results
    * browsing to http://www.whatismyip.com/ shows my client's IP# (as also shown in `ifconfig`)
    Both my client/laptop and server/jumpbox setups are quite generic OpenVPN-wise, and are almost exactly as described on the Debian wiki
    https://wiki.debian.org/openvpn%20for%20server%20and%20client

    I then see the following on my client:
    * `ifconfig` shows a new entry=`tun0`, which looks correct
    * I can `ping` the server using either its real IP# or `10.8.0.1`
    * I can `ssh` to the server using either its real IP# or `10.8.0.1`
    * `nslookup www.whatismyip.com` gives correct results
    ... but I get no connection if I open a new instance of Firefox and browse to http://www.whatismyip.com/ :-( "Looking up www.whatismyip.com..." succeeds quickly but the status line continues to display "Connecting to www.whatismyip.com..." until the attempt times out. I also get the same behavior (connection timeout) if I open a new instance of Chrome, or if I browse to http://www.whatismyip.com/ with a Firefox opened prior to starting OpenVPN. FWIW I get the same behavior browsing to any URI, including (e.g.) Google.
    This is a major problem for me! For the SSL VPN to work, I need to start a Firefox and run it (since the SSL VPN's vendor only supports it on Linux via a Firefox plugin) to access a particular remote-access website. Furthermore I need the SSL VPN to run through the jumpbox/OpenVPN. (Don't ask, it's a long, sad story ...)
    Is there something I must do to configure Firefox to use the VPN? Or is there some other way to fix this?
    Alternatively, what should I do to further debug the problem? It just seems odd to me that the other services work (e.g., `nslookup`, `ssh`) but Firefox does not. That being said, both Firefox and Chrome fail in this usecase, so the problem might be generic to web browsers.
    your assistance is appreciated, Tom Roche <[email protected]>

    You're kidding. You have to go through that rigamarole just to put your bookmarks on your own server? Where's the simple FTP option?
    Also, the above-linked article has a broken link. The link to the weaveserver (which is what you have to set up on your own server) is no good, and there is no obvious replacement. There are plenty of Weave-related repositories here:
    http://hg.mozilla.org/labs
    but it's not clear what you need.

  • How to configure sap to use gmail as smtp server?

    Hi experts,
    I need to know how to configure gmail as my smtp server. In the scot transaction I don't see anywhere where to specify whether it is a ssh connection, ports for secure smtp, username, password.
    Does anyone know how to configure sap to use gmail as the smtp server?
    I've seen some similar threads about this, but they are of no help. Although they are classified as answered, in most cases the reason they are answered is because the person who made the query dropped the cause trying to make it work. I'd like to know for sure is this is possible or not.

    Hi Camilo,
    You can't set up gmail as your smtp server to handle this. gmail is an email server which generally are based on POP protocol. now for SAP to send mail to gmail, you would need one SMTP capable server which can relay those message received from SAP to configured email address.
    As of WAS 6.10 SAP kernel supports SMTP without more components. i.e e-mails can be sent (or received) from the SAP system to each SMTP-compatible mail server. see SAP note 455140 for more details.
    Hope this clarifies your doubt.

    Hi Dheeraj,
    Sequence Object should be created in Database and specify the type of sequence that will be used in toplink to create sequence value.For example,sequence objects created in database needs to be configured using Native Sequence.
    For more information refer to the below link.Use JDeveloper Toplink Wizards for declarative programming of Toplink native Sequencing.

  • Repost : How to configure weblogic client in IBM JRE

    Still haven't gotten this to work.
    I'm trying to get a java client (Lotus Domino 6.0.1 java agent) app to
    connect to
    Weblogic 6.1 sp3.
    Both (Domino / weblogic) run fine separately (on different machine both
    win2k sp3).
    Domino is running with IBM JRE version :
    java version "1.3.1"
    Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.1)
    Classic VM (build 1.3.1, J2RE 1.3.1 IBM Windows 32 build cn131-20020710 (JIT
    enabled: jitc))
    I put weblogic.jar in the app's classpath but when i try to get an
    InitialContext, I get the stack trace shown below. Anybody know how to
    solve this this error?
    Or how to configure a weblogic client (which normally expects a SUN JRE) to
    use the IBM JRE.
    Thanks.

  • How to configure weblogic log file?

    HI
    How do i configure Weblogic server log file to log weblogic related information as well as my application?
    I need to maintain one log file for weblogic and my application.
    Thanks,

    Then glassfish instance is either not configured yet or installed somewhere else. Try looking under your user's home directory like C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\glassfish\domains\domain1\logs

  • How to configure weblogic as a SAML2 Service Provider

    Hi,
    I have to configure weblogic 11g to work with an external IdP, which is in fact the Dutch SurfConext for the Dutch Education Sector, so I used their metadata (https://wiki.surfnet.nl/display/surfconextdev/Connection+metadata)
    I configured the weblogic server mainly following https://blogs.oracle.com/blogbypuneeth/entry/steps_to_configure_saml_2.
    I have configured a SAML2 Authenticator (Sufficient) and SAM2 Identity Asserter (in that order). Then on the machine I configured the Service Provider tab under Federation Services and the SAML2 Services tab.
    But although I turned on the debug for saml2 at the configured managed server, I don't see any logging when I tried to reach the webapplication. I used the sample destination app from the blog. The application that I have to secure this way has an own login-page. When trying the sample dest webapplication URL I get the 403 forbidden error, but no logging on saml2.
    I search google around several times, and I feel that I should configure something in the web.xml and/or weblogic.xml. But I actually can't find the settings. I assumed that the web.xml of the sampl dest app (where auth-method is set to BASIC and realm-name myrealm) would do. And if that works that the actual application should be configured the same.
    What needs to happen is that when I try to reach the base URL of the web app, the browser gets rerouted to the IdP-'Where are you from" page, where the user can choose his/her college/university/organization and then login. After logging the Idp (SurfConext) should route the browser together with the SAML token to weblogic where the user gets routed to the actual main page of the webapp.
    So I feel that there is some configuration to do to get the webapplication secured via the SAML2 Identity Asserter. Either in weblogic (correct URL) and/or in the web.xml.
    Can anyone help me on the steps I apparently missed? And maybe ask me the correct questions to get me on the right track?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Martien

    Apparently I wrongly repackaged the zip from the blog into a war file. There was an faulty extra level of directory structure in the zip.
    I created a new war file from the bottom up, with own jsp's. And that worked.

  • How to configure memory snapshots used in /HMUSA?

    Dear experts,
    Does anybody know how to configure memory snapshots? I want to call the /HMUSA and have a look at the snapshot using the Memory Inspector. But I would like to get a itemized list of the memory used, for example for the TTAB buffer I would like to know which process or transaction has used certain amount of memory in this buffer. Thanks in advance.
    PS: I am using a system for test purpose and I am the only one using this system (it's not a system used in a real company, and I have an administrator account).

  • How to configure weblogic 451 to use Nes 4.1

    Am trying to use iPlanet 4.1(NES as webserver) and redirect all the
              request to weblogic(451), am using solaris 7, service pack 13.
              i have configured a servlet to respond requests in port 80 in
              weblogic, and in iPlanet(NES) have configured, in a server instance the
              file obj.conf to use the NSAPI plug in .
              ··························obj.conf·····················································································
              Init fn="load-modules" funcs="wl-proxy,wl-init"\
              shlib=/opt/Weblogic/libsp13/libproxy.so
              Init fn="wl-init"
              <Object name="weblogic" ppath="*/myservlet/*">
              Service fn=wl-proxy WebLogicHost=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx WebLogicPort=80
              </Object>
              this server instance is listening for request in port 8080.
              htpp://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080/myservlet
              Some fails in NSAPI plug-in configuration on NES, because the request
              never obtain a retrieve.
              NES never send the request to weblogic.
              Need i configure another file that obj.conf?
              Any suggestion to fix this problem?
              Thanks in advance.

    Hi
    1. You do NOT write any code for Session Replication. Its not worth trying also though possible in extreme ways.
    2. Session Replication means, I guess if you have more then one server like a Clustered Domain. For this you just create a Clustered Domain with one Admin Server and more then one managed servers. Then you add some load balancer infront of this cluster like Apache HTTP Server. All your requests go to apache which redirects to back end weblogic server. It will do load balancing, failover, session replication. There is absolutely nothing to do or configure. By default session should be replicated across all the servers in the cluster.

  • How to configure https connection using a http proxy in weblogic server

    Hi,
    I have a proxy in Aqualogic Service Bus that points to a https external service. Our development environment internet access is supported by a http proxy server. The ALSB proxy fails to connect, with the following error message:
    <con:fault xmlns:con="http://www.bea.com/wli/sb/context">
    <con:errorCode>BEA-380002</con:errorCode>
    <con:reason>
    Tried all: *1 addresses, but could not connect over HTTPS to server: sitenet43.serasa.com.br port: 443*
    </con:reason>
    <con:location>
    <con:node>RouteTo_ConsultarSerasa</con:node>
    <con:path>request-pipeline</con:path>
    </con:location>
    </con:fault>
    I've added the following parameters to jvm args:
    -Dhttp.proxyHost=10.128.0.50
    -Dhttp.proxyPort=3126
    -Dhttp.proxyUser=<someUserName>
    -Dhttp.proxyPassword=<somePassword>
    Accessing the page in Internet Explorer or Firefox is working fine. Somebody knows any additional configuration to this case?
    Thanks in advance
    Rogério Cruz

    In osb you can configure a HTTP proxy server. Once this is done all BS http/https requests will be through the configured proxy server.

  • How to configure weblogic 8.1 server for connecting to Oracle8.1.7

    Hi all,
    I m am A.Rama Krishna. I want an information regarding the connection to
    Oracle8.1.7 from weblogic8.1 Application server. I did every thing that I can
    do as mentioned in Documentation. But the datasource object is not available in
    JNDI tree. And also one more thing, after creating the connection pool with some
    name, I have to select the server to which I have to bind it by clicking "Target
    & Deploy" option. All the active servers in my domain are displayed there with
    a check box beside it asking me to choose all those severs to which I have to
    bind the connection pool. Once I check the server and click "Apply" button, a
    message like "Error on the page" dispalys on the bottom status bar. How to fix
    this problem. Please advice me some thng. I created all the connectionpool and
    Data source objects during the creating the server in the new domain with the
    help of Wizard.
    Thanx in advance
    Regards
    Ram

    Rama,
    If you have created and deployed a connection pool and data source via the
    WebLogic Server console, you should be able to access it from the Workshop
    IDE.
    If you configured the connection pool and datasource during configuration
    time, can you login to the console and check if they have been created and
    deployed successfully ?
    Can you also provide more information on what your are trying to ? Are you
    trying to create a db control which use this datasource ?
    Thanks
