  • How to maintain a process log

Currently i have stored procedure which over a dblink pulls data from 1 database &
    loads into another database
We want to log the whole process
say the started , ended, status flag, date_time, failure cause, affected rows
i am not looking here for an error log but process log
who can log details about the step by step process involved

You can use the UTL_FILE package to write to files from your procedure, so can maintain a process log file through this package.
If you are using 9i you can use directory objects to specify the location of you files. For earlier versions you need to use the UTL_FILE_DIR init.ora parameter to specify the locations. This needs a restart for the parameter to take effect.
Then, its up to you to code into you procedure what you want to put in your log file.

  • How to Maintain the Pricing Condition Records in CRM

    Hi
I am new to the CRM
How to maintain the pricing condition records in crm for the particular condition type?
    as we do in SD(VK11)
    Thanks

    Hi Binu,
First of all, you could maintain pricing conditions in the following places:
    1. In General Condition Maintenance (GCM)
    2. At the product maintenance level
    3. At the 'Price agreement' tab of Contracts
    4. As manual conditions during order processing at item level
Now, if you want to maintain conditions using GCM, you first have to maintain a condition maintenance group in the customizing where in you can assign condition table and condition type for different counter values. I am assuming that you have done this activity successfully.
When you run the transaction '/SAPCND/GCM', for application 'CRM', your condition maintenance group name and context 'GCM', you will be initially taken to a screen where in you'll have an item area which would be blank and then condition fields would be displayed in a tree on the left.
Here, select the field 'Condition type' and click on icon 'Select records'. You would get a dialog prompting you to enter condition type. Here you can specifiy the condition type for which you want to maintain/view condition records.
If no condition records are available, item area would be left blank. Here, you can choose a condition type using the standard F4 help. Depending on condition types that are assigned to condition maintenance group, different condition types would be displayed in the F4-help using which you can maintain condition records.
    Hope this helps.

  • HOW TO STOP THE PROCESS CHAIN WHICH IS RUNNING IN THE PRODUCTION?

    HI ALL,
CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO STOP THE PROCESS CHAIN WHICH IS RUNNING DAILY AT 5.00 PM. I NEED TO STOP THE PROCESS CHAIN FOR COUPLE OF DAYS AND THEN RESTART IT AGAIN.
cAN ANYONE TELL ME THE PROCEDURE TO STOP THE ENTIRE PROCESS CHAIN RUNNING IN THE PRODUCTION.
    THANKS
    HARITHA

    Hi,
First and foremost let me advice you to be very careful while doing this.
    For Rescheduling
RSPC> chain > Goto > Planning view and
click on Execution tab > select > Remove from Schedule and then in Maintain variant of start process reschedule for the day you require it to run.
    For terminating active chain
You can start from SM37, find the process WID/PID then go to SM50 or SM51 and kill it. Once its done come back to RSMO and check the request, it should be red but again manually force to red and save by clicking on the total status button in the status tab. This shuld ensure that the process is killed properly.
The next step will be to go to targets that you were loading and remove the red requests from those targets.
Note: For source system loads you may have to check if the request is running in the source system and kill if needed and pull it again.
But for BW datamart delta loads u may have reset the datamarts in case u are going to pull the delta again.

  • How to maintain the data in the view cluster

we are doing upgrade, we have one view cluster app_log in this object scwb
and subobjects is swtlo1,02,03 like i have some subobjects in 4.6c we transported the view cluster to ecc6.0 in ecc 6.0 i have object scwb  but subobjects doesn't exist how to maintain the subobjects in view cluster.

    Definition
A view cluster is a group of maintenance dialogs which are collected in one maintenance unit for business or technical reasons. They allow related data in more than one table/view to be maintained consistently.
    Use
Whereas only 1:1 relationships can be processed in maintenance views (except for language-dependent texts), key extensions and relationships of cardinality N:M can also be handled in view clusters. Maintenance dialogs with no key, or partial key-dependence, can also be combined into view clusters.
Grouping dialogs into one maintenance unit has the following advantages for data maintenance:
Navigation: A view cluster contains convenient standard navigation between the individual maintenance dialogs. This simplifies the maintenance of the data in a view cluster.
Consistency: The view cluster ensures data consistency when deleting, copying, saving, retrieving and manually transporting data. For example when an entry in a higher-level view is deleted, , it automatically ensures that all dependent entries in lower-level views are also deleted.
You can first split tables with a lot of fields into various views and then collect them into a view cluster.
Use tabs to format very wide tables with a lot of fields.
    Structure
Navigation in a view cluster is usually based on the hierarchy of the tables/views on which the dialogs are based. A view cluster usually consists of one or more root dialogs and the at most 14 maintenance dialogs which depend on them. A view at a lower level has one or more additional fields in its key compared its higher-level view. Each data record at the higher level has several dependent data records below it.
Each maintenance dialog is an independent unit consisting of an overview screen or an overview and a detail screen, depending on the dialog type. As well as the data to be maintained, the overview screen contains a navigation area, in which you can go to higher or lower level maintenance dialogs.
One-level maintenance dialogs only contain one screen, the list screen, in which all existing data records are displayed in a table. In a two-level maintenance dialog, double-clicking on a data record in the list screen takes you to the detail screen, which displays all the fields in the selected data record.
Generate a maintenance dialog for each view before you call the cluster maintenance (SM34). When you generate the maintenance dialog, flag the key fields which are identical in the view and its higher-level in the cluster, with the maintenance attribute S. The system fills the key fields when you go from the upper to the lower level, with the values of the data record selected in the upper level. Go to the transaction SE54 to define a view cluster.

  • How to maintain year of experience required for a position?

    Hi All,
There is a very requirement for a position like "3 years of experience as Executive" I dont know how to maintain this requirement in SAP. Right now we have created a qualification named "Executive Experience" with a time scale assigned to it with a validity period of one year so HR dept must change the scale evey year. It works but it's not best practice. I know if there is a way we can use employee past and current work history to determine the level of experience and also how to define this requirement in position profile.

    Hi Dilek,
I maintained all those thing. But i have to do the selection process on the basis of position with year of experience. While doing the selection process via Position or Qualification its picking up the exact applicant. I created a career as 3 years as you said so that the minimum year of experience for that position is 3 years. Then where i can give the year of experience for the applicant? Even though i maintained the previous employer details as 2 years the system is picking up the applicant. Logic wise how to do this?
Please help me to sort out this problem.
    Thanks in advance,
    Magesh S.

  • QM & PM Calibration Process Configuration

    Hi
I wanted to configure a calibration process. I have made the settings for PM and QM integration but unfortunately in our implementation QM is not in scope but I need to do the QM settings which will be required for calibration. Can anyone provide me a configuration document for calibration process which contains the settings for QM as well as for PM.
    Thanks a lot for help.
    Thanks & Regards
    Vineet

    Dear  Vineet,
In  QM SPRO you have to assign  inspection type 14which is for  inspection in plant maintenance. Also you have to maintain number  range for this. most of  work in calibration  belongs to PM only.
    Following is the flow:
    1) IE01 : Create test quuipment.
    2) QDV1: Create sampling procedure for plant mentenance.
    3) IP42 : Create maintenance plan for equipment.
    4) IA01 : Create equipment task list.
    5) IP02 : Assign task list to maintenance plan.
    6) IP10 : Schedule  maintenance plan.
    6) IP30 : Deadline monitoring of maintenance plan.
    7) IP24 : Viewing schedule for calibration with order released.
    8) QE71 / QE53 : Calibration Result recording  and UD.
This is the way i have mapped  the  calibration process.
    Hope this will help you.

  • How to Maintain SLA in Complaint transaction

    Dear all,
How to maintenance SLAs for CRM complaints transaction.
    Scenario:
our client wants to store Complaint processing time in SAP. if complaint is coming through phone..it has to be addressed with in 1 day, if customer directly comes it has to be resolved with in 1 hour like that....
can we map this in complaint transaction..How to configure this in SAP CRM?
We are not maintaining Service Contracts per each customer in our system.
    Your suggestions are highly appreciated
    Thanks & Best regards
    Raghu ram

Hi Ram, Thanks for the response but it is not clear to me. Please help me to understand the scenario in following concerns.
    1. When you say 'Service Master' is it a Service product master which need to be created for SLA's in CRM system?
    2. How to maintain duration details on basis of specific status in the transaction?
    3. If the given duration exceeds for a specific status...how to escalate it to next level?
    4. Is there any way of mapping this scenario instead of maintaining SLA as a product in the transaction?
Kindly suggest...Your help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Doubts on calibration process

    Hi,
I AM DOING CALIBRATION PROCESS FOR THE FIRST TIME. The process i followed is:
    IE01:Equipment
    IP11: Maintainence Strategy
    IA05: Task List
    IP42: Maintainence Plan
    IP10: Scheduling Of plan
    IP30: Job Planning
Above this i have assigned Inspection type 14 to PM order type for calibration.
    My doubt is:
    1) Is the process that I am following is correct.
    2) If yes, then after I schedule the orders by IP10, Do i need to relese the orders manually in IP10 or do the orders are made & released automatically when I execute IP30. Please let me know what is the process.
    3) If i reject the MIC in result recording does the order still get the status of TECO as it gets when i accept the UD.
    4) Do the maintainence orders get generated automatically after executing IP30 automatically.
PLease respond, I will award points.
    Regards
    Ashish Khurna

    hi
Following is the pre requisite for calibration orders.
Maintain the inspection type 014 in customising (done by QM consultant)
Assign Inspection type 014 to order type PM05 in customising.
    Maintaing the following master data:
    Create Master inspection charecteristics
    Maintain sampling procdedure
Tasklist with inspection point as 300 for equipment
    Assign inspection charectersitics to operations
Maintain catalogs for results recording / usage decision
    Create Maintenance Plan
    Schedule the maintenance plan
    Calibration orders would be generated
release and inspection lt will be created
Check through Tcode QA32 and process the inspection lot - results recording, usage decision
    Trust this may help you.

  • How to maintain LCM job integrity while promoting?

    Hi
    Question/Issue:
We are trying to find out how to maintain job integrity while promoting using LCM? This is from a process security perspective that "only tested and approved items should move from QA to PROD"
    Use Case/Scenario:
We are using BO in a three scale landscape (Windows Server). DEV, QA and PRD are all are in a same network. LCM is installed on BO DEV.
I create a job having report objects to move from  DEV -> QA. This job can have multiple iterations ie. to incorporate changes in the DEV and move to QA for testing. Once the final version is tested in QA, only the "tested" objects should move from QA -> PRD.
Two ways to do the above is:
    1. Copy the existing job which promoted items from DEV to QA and then change the Destination to Production. This will ensure object integrity because only initially packaged & tested objects will be present in this job (and no new untested QA objects can be added and "piggy backed" promoted to PROD)
    Problem with this approach:
When i make a copy of the existing job, it does not allow me to change the source system but only the destination. Which means I'll essentially be moving DEV objects to Prod. However, we should not move objects from from DEV -> PRD. Ideally, LCM should allow to copy the original job and also change the source system to QA so that the original job is just "updated" to pick originally promoted DEV equivalent objects from QA).
    2. Create a New job in QA and manually choose equivalent DEV objects that were originally promoted using previous DEV -> QA Job.
    Problem with this approach:
This breaks the "promotion process" from a security perspective because we cannot ensure "only the tested objects are promoted to production". There is a chance human error or malicious intentions that the new job can be modified to include untested items or different version items.
So, would like to know from LCM Product Management whether:
    - Is it possible to change the source system of LCM jobs?
    - To maintain the interity, is it required to create two jobs
    DEV -> QA - Job1
QA -> PRD - Job2 (With same objects as in Job1)
Please suggest. This is relavant from ITIL Security Management process point of view. (Information Security Management System)
    Thanks.
Edited by: Deepb on May 4, 2011 7:21 PM

    Hi there,
@Maheshwar: I am afraid, you can't change the source only the destination when you copy a promotion job.
I have a problem to understand the underlying issue fully. How do you - let's say - mark the reports which have been tested (successfully?) in QA? And also how do you know which haven't been tested yet? You cannot see that in the LCM nor in the CMC, am I right?
One option would be to create a new folder in QA where you save the tested and approved reports and you only promote that folder into PROD. Ultimately this would change the folder structure between DEV and PROD but this wouldn't be a problem at all. The approved documents would have to be saved into the new folder whereby they get a new CUID. Hence from DEV to QA the report has got CUID = ABC and after testing it would be saved into the new folder and its technical name changes to CUID = DEF and you transport that one from QA to PROD.
You would have to create a new promotion job in to accommodate that. No copy of your first promotion job would be possible in that case. Also you would need a good naming convention to separate all your promotion jobs because they are all on the same BO server.
Does that make any sense to you?
Happy to hear your thoughts on that!
    Cheers
    Sven

  • In scope of planning ( md01), How to maintain MRP areas in scope of plg?

    Hello PP members,
In scope of planning ( md01), How to maintain plant or MRP areas in scope of planning ?
What is the transaction code for maintaining plants or MRP areas in the scope of planning
I tried transaction code SAMP, Also went to SE93( Maintain transaction) for any related transaction codes for maintaining plants in scope of planning, it wasn't much help
    Thanks for your time,
    Thanks Again,
    Suren R

    Hi,
we can use Total planning(MD01) for a single plant or use scope of planning to control whether total planning is to be carried out for single plant/sevaral plant/ for one MRP Area/sevaral MRP areas/ combination of plant and MRP Areas.
    Steps :
1.Group together the plants which are to be planned in spro in --->Define scope of planning.(OM0E)
    2. Define the scope of planning as 999 for ex and give description.
    2. Now select that and Specify the sequence in which Plants and  MRP Areas are to be planned,
3.Goto new entries and enter the plant as 1000/MRP Area as 1000 with counter 1 and plant as 1100 with counter 2 and save.
4.Execute the total planning either as online job or as background job.
5.The planning run has to be always started with paralle processing.
In SPRO in define parallel processing in MRP enter the destination for parallel processing for ex your server name and enter the no .of sessions as 1 and save.
6.Tcode MD01 enter the scope of planning group and selet the parallel processing and enter.
    7. All the materials to be planned in the plant / mrp area will be planned now.
