In WL 6.0, does JSP always recompile?

          If I deploy a .ear file which contains a .war file with JSP's in it, are all the
          JSP's going to be set to recompile? Or will the JSP's that haven't changed since
          the last .ear file was deployed not recompile? It seems to me that the first behavior
          is happening, because every time I deploy a new .ear file, every JSP is recompiling.

The language in the documentation should be clarified; IMO, it is too strongly worded. What's going on is this: java.rmi describes the ideal API, but because of implementation details in the JDK, it becomes necessary for there to be a weblogic.rmi package that mirrors that API. Such methods as, for
example, UnicastRemoteObject.exportObject(..) do not offer an opportunity for alternate service provider to provide support for RMI; consequently, there must be a weblogic.rmi.server.UnicastRemoteObject.
What the documentation strives to do is encourage the use of those parts of the standard API that can be leveraged, thereby making your application more portable. Also, at this stage, we have the best intentions of deprecating the weblogic.rmi API, but there is no hope of doing that until JavaSoft
provides for an appropriate Service Provider Interface for RMI. Thus, and I'm sorry for the resulting confusion, the interfaces and the examples remain.
If you would like JavaSoft to provide an SPI for RMI, I would encourage anyone to communicate this to the contacts at JavaSoft, namely [email protected] and [email protected]

JSPs always recompiling even with pageCheckSeconds -1

I have sent the jsp-descriptor pageCheckSeconds to -1
          indicating that I don't want my jsps to ever be recompiled
          (I include the generated class files in the war and so they
          should never need recompilation). I see from the weblogic.log
          that this setting has taken effect, however, the jsps are still
          being recompiled when referenced.
          Somehow the installed petstore.ear file manages to avoid
          recompilation, but I can't seem to make this work for my ear files;
          the jsps are always recompiled.
          Is there something special done in the distributed petstore.ear?
          If I take the petstore.war and replace any one of its class files
          with a newly recompiled one and put this back in the original
          petstore.ear, then restarting the server and referencing

Hi again. That is a good idea. Check if router can grab an ip from your modem since wireless local connection through the router is working. If it can grab an ip and works fine on wireless, then you might have a problem with the ethernet ports. You might want to try assigning an ip address on the wired connection and see if ip of router is pingable. If really not working at all, possibility that router is not working properly anymore.

Chaning headers in Xcode 1.5 does not force recompile

I have a problem with Xcode not recompiling source files when one of its headers that it includes gets changed. I have had this problem before but I have never been able to fix it. I looked over at IDevGames and people have had the same problem but never got it fixed. It gets quite annoying when you figure out the bug you have been trying to fix for the last hour was a problem compiling. It is easy to fix if you edit one file and then you notice if it isn't compiling, but when you are working on multiple files you don't notice as much. The only fix I can find is to edit the source file that includes the file, but that does not always work so I have to do a clean build which takes up a lot of time. I have Predictive Compiling turned off so this is not the problem. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

No this is not a system header. It is a custom header that is included in the project. It normally works correctly recompiling when I change a header, but sometimes something happens to the project and all of a sudden it will not recompile when I change the header that I am including in my source files. I have tried creating a new project when this happened before but the problem seemed to come back quickly.

Firefox 34.05 does not always refresh screen

When I move from one tab to another the screen does not always refresh. Same happens when I close a tab - the screen will still show the deleted tab. This does not happen all of the time - but enough to be an issue.

The https://www.mozilla.org/plugincheck/ is not always accurate or reliable (needs to be manually updated) as Adobe has not been keeping the Adobe products versions to check for updated on that page as the recent Flash updates on December 9 has shown.
It is however accurate when it says versions in Plugins panel of Addons Manager is outdated.
There is Adobe Reader 11.0.10 though it seems like Adobe still provides 10.1.4 at http://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions/ yet newer versions are at http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=10&platform=Windows

James, why does the Firefox addon page link to the 9.5 "blocked for your protection" page instead of the 10.5 blocked page? Is that a mistake/failure to update on Adobe's part? First off they are not even pop ups....your crap blocks everything and don't save user names &/or passwords when you have it checked. Also in your tutorials about solving this issue says it has the word "OPTION" .......no, it never says option to allow you to bypass it and etc. Only thing is says is "ALLOW" . That would be nice , but the problem is it will not allow it from then on. It only allows it right then and then you have to refresh...after that to open again it blocks it again.....HOW STUPID?!!!!!

Are you using "Clear history when Firefox closes"?
In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":
*do not clear the Cookies
*do not clear the Site Preferences

Media Encoder CS6 does not always "Use Previews"

I've attempted several transcodes using pre-rendered timelines in Premiere Pro. Media encoder does not always use the preview files despite the appropriate box being checked. Any suggestions what I can look for? I don't see that I am doing anything different between the times it works and the times it doesn't.

Been having the same problems all week. And am got a generic, not-at-all-helpful response from my initial inquiry with support, then absolutely no response to my follow-up requests. There seem to be a fair number of people posting this problem, so not sure why we're being ignored.
Was able to eventually download the episodes manually via the 'purchased' link, but it's about 10 more steps than normal.
Also noticed that itunes isn't recognizing my purchases at all, not just season passes. If I go to a page of a show where I buy episodes individually, it doesn't show which episodes I have previously bought like it used to.

There are times lightroom 4.2 (and before) does not recognize already imported raws and does not gray them out. These are backed up cards and folders of of raw images. Why is the "do not import selected duplicates" check box not working???!!!

Why does Bridge always sort images by rating instead of by date modified?
This drives me bonkers. Everytime I look for an image I've been working on, I go to Bridge and I'm always presented with the images sorted by rating instead of by date.
Then I click on the microscopic sized, extremely tiny arrow that allows one to choose 'sort by date modified' and I resort them to find the file I need. So that's always 3 extra clicks to find the image.
WHY can't Bridge sort images by date modified and STAY that way every time I come back?

I know I could just keep the recent files rated the highest, but still, I'm wondering if there's a way to make it work the way I'd like it to work?

By default it does stay at the latest selected sort order so this could mean it is due to your install.
First of all try to reset the preferences for Bridge, hold down option key while restarting Bridge and choose reset preferences. This sets it all to default. First try if the problem is solved then set prefs again to your own custom wishes.
Also check and repair permissions for the OSX itself (Apple has disk utility in the utility folder for this job, and there are other 3th party applications)
And be sure to have the latest update for Bridge. (Bridge CS5 should be 4.0.5.11)
In addition to the method Tai Lao pointed you already to there is a third option, use right click mouse button in content window and the pop up menu has also the sort option at the bottom of the row

I realize this is an old thread but I'm having the same problem after upgrading my software today. Kinda surprised there are no solutions at all with 88 views. I have an iPod touch btw, not an iPhone, but it prob wouldn't make much difference in this case.
The thing is, I get the screen(s) looking EXACTLY as I want on iTunes...just perfect (which is what I believe everyone else is experiencing as well). When we go to sync tho, it does whatever it wants to do. After syncing, all the apps are there, it's just that for me, it puts them in some type of random order. I have 72 apps and this is absolutely ridiculous!

New (1.5) add(*) method does not always equal to getContentPane().add(*);

Just came across something people might not be aware of,
The add(*) method provided in 1.5 does not always produce the same result as getContentPane().add(*)...
Setting the contentPane (of a JFrame) to a JTabbedPane should mean that when you "add" a component (using the add(somComponent)) you get (according to the documentation) a tab whose text defaults to c.getName(). However, when you call add(someComponent) you get no tab text....changing the call to getContentPane().add(someComponent) brings it back...

The AVG Safe Search add-on has caused this for some, if you have that one try disabling it.
