Invoice reference field XBLNR inadequate
Hi
Has anyone found and/or implemented a Business Function from an Enhancement pack that has compensated for the relatively short length of the invoice reference field XBLNR?
I am not interested in modifying it for ourselves. I'm only interested in standard SAP.
We are currently on ERP 6.06 with ECC-DIMP.
Thanks, Marg
OK, i would suggest check OSS on this field, because if this happens for the same document number, than it is a program error (I guess), if it was working fine earlier, and not working fine now, than could be chnage in customizing (if the fill of this field is customizable at all), or a change in the functionality (either standard, or user-exit)

Invoice reference field on Customer line item
Hi All,
When a billing document is released to accounting, on the customer line item display (FBL5N), the invoice reference field has the FI document number in it.
But if we actually look at the Customer line item on the FI document (FB03), the invoice reference field is blank.
Not sure what is happening over here.
Any inputs on this..
Thanks,

User exit for (reference field) XBLNR check in ML81N
Hello,
We would like to implement a duplicate check on the reference field: XBLNR in ML81N. This would be to prevent users from posting duplicate service entry sheets.
Has anyone done it with SRV* user exits?
Thanks,

Hi Friends,
In FI, Invoice document is generated with doc type RV. When invoice is done for a service order the system is copying the invoice number in reference field[bkpf-xblnr] of the RV document. However, when invoice is done for a delivery related order the system is copying the Purchase order number in reference field[bkpf-xblnr] of the RV document.
The requirement is that Reference field should always get updated with the invoice number.
How does Sap populate the reference field. Why and how is it picking up different values for different billing types?
Is there any config in spro where we can mention which field has to be picked up in reference field?
Is there any other oss note or exit in this regard?
Thanks & Regards
Ajay

How to populate invoice reference field (bseg-rebzg) in accounting document
Hi,
I am working on a scenario in which first a billing document and its corresponding accounting document (say A) is generated.
Then if there ia any correction, we create a credit memo request. From this credit memo request we create a credit note.
After saving this credit note another accounting document (say B) is created. This new accounting document has "Invoice ref." field blank (BSEG-REBZG). However, I want to display first accouting document's number (i.e. A) in "Invoice ref." field.
I tried to change the reference number field in user exits (called during credit note creation) but it didn't help and accounting document didn't get created.
Can anyone please suggest how this can be done?
Thanks in Advance!!
Kind Regards,
Priyanka.Hi,
I really doubt that the number of invoice document get stored here. This is only filling up with "V" in our system for the credit memo accounting document referencing to an invoice document created with reference to billing document.
Please read the help on this filed.
In the standard system the field is used for:
Credit memos which refer to a particular invoice item
Subsequent invoices for an invoice item
Partial payments for an invoice item
Partial clearings of down payments.
In the first two cases mentioned, the terms of payment are copied from the cross-referenced invoice item into the item currently being processed. This ensures that items due on the same date are paid together by automatic payment.
A special rule applies to credit memos which have a "V" in this field. The due date is determined in the same way as for an invoice. If the field is empty (containing neither a document number nor a "V") the due date is the baseline date for payment.

Ajeesh.sHi Ajeesh
This is SAP recommendation that you when you are posting Cr Memo, this field must be populated as V
Thats the best practice

In credit memo entry how do you get a list of invoice for which the corresponding credit memo has to be made. Normally when we click F4 in the invoice reference field we get a message input list is not available. I want to get the list of invoice when i press F4 in invoice reference field. Is it possible?
...wasteful...
you need a search help - that's no problem
but you need a table with all invoice-no. and a dialog or interface. Who shall maintain this table?

Invoice Reference Number in Line item of Credit Memo
Hi Experts
I tried getting a specific and relevant answer to why we enter "V" in invoice reference field of a Credit Memo?
On going through the SAP Help text - A special rule applies to credit memos which have a "V" in this field. The due date is determined in the same way as for an invoice. If the field is empty (containing neither a document number nor a "V") the due date is the baseline date for payment.
I understand this relates the credit memo to an invoice but how SAP determines the invoice from which it will pull the payment terms for this credit memo?
Is this V concept applicable only in case of MIRO Invoices or otherwise too?
Thanks in advance.
ArjunArjun,
We have 3 ways of credit memo use for REBZG field:
1 - REBZG = Invoice -> You credit document will fetch payment term, payment method and due date from invoice.
2 - REBZG = "V" -> The credit document works as individual invoice. The due date is calculated by Bseline date + Payment terms.
3 - REBZG = " " -> The credit memo is opened to be used in any other invoice as discount. Baseline date is the due date as default.
Your questions:
* There are no reference for invoices in cases number 2 and 3.
* This is apliccable for invoices from all transactions.

Partial Payment (with invoice reference) for Invoice-based items
Hi Gurus,
I'd like to make partial payments to credit memos while "Include partial payment" is activated. However, if i activate "Include partial payment, partial payments for invoice-based items are no longer possible (partial payment amount is displayed only, and full amount is automatically applied).
My credit memos were posted via BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST. I've read that when using BAPI, invoice reference field is automatically populated with "V".
Can you please enlighten me what is SAP's logic behind this. How does SAP determine invoice-based items? And is there a workaround so I could still make partial payment while it is activated? Thank you.

Invoice reference for residual payment
HI experts
I observed if I receive the payment from customer Rs 10000 for the invoice Rs15000 through residual payment then system creates new line item for Rs 5000 and this will be shown as open item and all others will be clered items.
Here my issue is for new line item system is not storing the original invoice details in invoice reference field. How to maintain source invoice details to residual new line item.
Pls advice me
Thanks in advance
SnehaHi,
Anil is correct. All the details you entered in your incoming payment document when you posting your residual payment, will be displayed in the new line item created after that. My practice last time is that I will maintain the original invoice number at Reference field as suggested by Anil and entered my PO or SO number at Document header text.
If you don't wish to lose all the original details, you can use partial payment tab instead of residual. Partial payment will post the incoming payment without clearing any item. Then you can clear it off all together when you are posting for the last incoming payment for that particular invoice.
Hope this help. -
Hi,
does anyone know how SAP determines the Reference field (XBLNR) when generating vendor open items via Periodic posting run RERAPP?
Is there any possibility to define a certain reference by the user?
Thanks,
SonjaHi,
The reference table and reference field are the fields which specify the currency key or Unit of Measure. Suppose if the user specifies a currency amount say 1000$, the currency amount field would indicate the amount 1000 and the currency key indicates that the currency specified is in Dollars.
A reference field is needed for all currency and quantity fields as the figures in this field need a currency or unit. If you have no reference field and table for fields of this kind you will get a syntax error. This syntactic constraint reflects a semantic fact: A figure in a field does not tell you a lot if you do not know to which quantities or currencies the figure is related: It does not suffice to know that you have, for example, five items, but you need to know if you have five meters, five Euros, five pound etc. And this information is provided the reference field and table.

Hi Gurus,
Good day!
I would like to ask if itu2019s possible to mass change the invoice reference on all customer accounts with 11 as posting key. Currently, all CM were already overdue thatu2019s why we have to change the accounting document and input the letter V in the Invoice reference field ( BSEG-REBZG ) to apply the original payterm of the customer. We do this manually per accounting document. Hopefully, there's a way were the invoice reference field will be filled up with the letter V.
Thanks and regards,
EllicecHi
You can do this via LSMW or BDC . Record your transaction in LSMW or BDC and upload all the invoice reference fields docuement number wise.
Cheers

Reference Field to populate automatically when doing manually clearing F-30
Hi,
I have a requirement from my client where we have to get the reference field XBLNR to the clearing document from the document it actually clears when doing the manually clearing through F-30.
Is there any standard SAP note for this.
Can you please suggest any other way. It should be automatic.
Thanks,
SriniHi,
Sorry you both are thinking in the wrong direction, let me explain by giving an example...
Open Item Document Number Reference Number
£2500 3500000253 ABC125663
Cleared Item
£2500 6500000562 ABC125663
My requirement is I want to auto populate the reference number of the cleared item with that of open item.
That means "ABC125663". I hope I have explained the requirement clearly.
If you have any answers please let me know.
Thanks,

Reference field of invoice not filled in PO history
The reference field of the invoice (INFVO-XBLNR) is not copied into the EKBE-XBLNR. I couldn't find an OSS note to solve the problem. Please advise.
Kind regards,
Annerie DeckersHello,
Table EKBE is only updated if "GR-Based IV" indicator is active at Purchase order item level.
Only then field EKBE-XBLNR is updated with the value of the corresponding GR doc. reference field (MKPF-XBLNR) and not with the value of the RBKP-XBLNR (logistics invoice).
There is also a note explaining the case link:[Note 383828 - ME23N: Reference in the purchase order history]
