IWeb failure to load

Help! I am receiving an error when I try to open iWeb. It states that there is a "kern protection error". I have found a few similar posts here and have tried those solutions, but without trashing my current site, I haven't found a solution that works....
Any help would be appreciated!!!

Did you solve this problem?
I have the same issue....

My iBooks were fine yesterday, today unable to get into book, message comes up, "failure to load book because requested resource missing"
It doesn't tell me what resource is missing, & why could I read this 12 hours ago fine.

I've got a solution, it's not so perfect, but i bet someone would come out with a better one based on mine.
    Solution:
Step 1: close iBooks app and delete all existing book data
Since I have recently lost all files in my ibooks library due to something wrong with Time Machine backup, I could delete all my book data without anything to worry about.
    I deleted all files in:
    /Users/[usename]/Library/Containers/com.apple.BKAgentService/Data/Documents/iBoo ks
and the iBook configuration files (well, the whole folder):
    /Users/zlw/Library/Containers/com.apple.iBooksX
It doesn't matter if you have deleted the whole iBooksX folder, what you would lose at most is the bookmark data, etc.
deleting all the files inside the iBooks folder of BKAgentService will enable you to redownload the file that you want correctly.
    Step 2:
reopen iBooks and you will be able to download the book that you want.
    Possible improvement:
there is a Books.plist file in the iBooks folder of BKAgentService, it might be possible to modify the plist and and the folders so that it's not necessary to delete them all.

  • Error while loading services: Failure in Loader: VerifyError: Error #1014

I have a library that, after it loads, I see this error in the console:
Failure in Loader: VerifyError: Error #1014: Class mx.collections::ArrayCollection could not be found.
I had the same problem with another library, except it had a problem with IToken. I got around this problem by changing the default linkage of libraries in build path from external to merge into code. That did not work this time.
Merging Flex libraries into service libraries does not seem to be anything close to the correct way to deal with this. Besides, it didn't some the problem every time.
What is the best way to keep these sorts of dependency errors from arising? The RSLs are included with Web apps, but not with libraries.

    I have found what happened.
I created a library and created a data model within it. I created some entities within the data model. Some of those entities had collections as properties. I created the ActionScript code for the model and the collections were ArrayCollections. I moved the interfaces of the created code to a separate library.
The interfaces need to be changed from using ArrayCollection to IList. I knew enough about that to change it for the service I was trying to bring into my application. I missed another interface that had ArrayCollections as properties and that caused the error.
After cleaning up all of the ArrayCollection references from the interface library my service loaded.
The Hello Gravity video tutorial has a very good explanation on why specific implementations of Flex classes are not used in service interfaces: http://blogs.adobe.com/gravity/2011/09/09/hellogravity-sample-application/

  • Solution (sort of) for Safari hangs/failure to load

I and several others have been experiencing frequent hangs (or failure to load) with Safari 5.0.2 and 5.0.3 under OS X 10.6.5 and 10.6.6. Out of about 100 page loads, these hangs occur about twice. All pages stop loading and the progress bar stops at "http://www." It's not a full crash -- you can still switch between tabs and use the menu -- but no pages or page items will load.
After much helpful back and forth with Apple tech support and other affected individuals, we seem no closer to finding the cause of these hangs, but I have discovered a "sort of solution". When the hang occurs, if you have another tab that has already fully loaded, go to that tab and choose Save as... from Safari's File menu, then Cancel. That will free Safari which will resume normal operations. (If you don't have another tab already loaded, you can usually switch to any other app and choose Save or Save as..., then Cancel.)
No idea why this works, but it does and very consistently.

If anyone knows any better about what I wrote, please let me and everyone else in this forum know.

  • Failure to Load Project: OA Express Datatypes not Compatible with SignalExpress 2014

    Hi,
since a few days now, I am trying to get SignalExpress 2014 Full running on my workstation. I deinstalled and reinstalled all National Instruments components multiple times, but I always receive the following error (see also the picture attached) when I try to open a certain project:
    Failure to load project
Installed component versions are not compatible with the version of the SignalExpress 2014. Please install the latest versions of the following:
    1) OA Express Datatypes
Previously, there was also "DAQ Assistant" mentioned in the list of missing components/components with incompatible versions, but I could solve this with installaing NI-DAQmx. But I could not find anything looking for "OA Express Datatypes" --- I neither know in what package this component is located nor what the purpose of this component is.
    Any help is appreciated.

Just did a downgrade and it's working again, here are my versions.
    linux 3.9.9-1
    linux-headers 3.9.9-1
    nvidia 319.32-2
    nvidia-utils 319.32-1
    bbswitch 0.7-4
If you have conflicts, I found it easiest to remove those (bbswitch, virtualbox in my case), downgrade linux and then install the appropriate  bbs/vb packages

  • IWeb Site's Load Slow and Jump/Lock Up IE - Why?

Week 3 of trying to figure out why/how to get pages I created on iWeb to load like they do on Safari/FireFox. IE browsers either lock on loading my pages and/or are jumpy when you scroll the page.
    Things I have done:
    Changed templates,
Reduced the amount of graphics on the pages,
Ran Maestro (which tells me it only makes the site 29% faster)
Published to FTP server an not Mobile Me
Site originally created in '08 - upgraded to '09
    published to server @ redmoonstudios.com
Here is what I started with: http://www.only2degrees.com/kktmp/Only2Degrees/Home.html
Here is what I changed to: http://only2degrees.com/Only2Degrees/Home.html
And pages on IE are still Jumpy! but do load faster than before...
ANY Suggestions, comments, help, critic I will glady take Anything really!
I am at my wit's end with this!
    thank you!
    Kerilyn
p.s. - whoever comes up with the solution that fixes this problem for me, I will happily reward with an iTunes Gift Card !!

You say that optimizing only makes it go 29% faster. That's the difference between actually loading in IE rather than locking it up.
That cool browser background is going to slow things down a lot.
The problem with iWeb is that you can make really snazzy sites but IE can't handle them.
You really have to dumb things down - everything plain - no whistles or bells.
I've found the solution with my latest site. Its for musicians who want to build a site with iWeb so everyone will be looking at it on a Mac.
A couple of years back I read that the average surfer would wait for up to 7 seconds for a page to download. I tried to build a few that would do that in IE. I ended up with a plain white page, an image, a couple of icons and some text and optimized it with WSM and it just made it in time!
The main thing is to make your landing page as simple as possible. If you can get that to download fast and hook people in, you have a better chance of keeping them there even if the rest of the pages are a bit slower.
It looks like you're using the default iWeb page width. I would increase this to the "standard" 980 px and dump the browser background at least for your Home page. Use it on the pages that are mainly text.
The 980 px width fits a 15 inch screen which, believe it or not, a lot of people use and also translates well for iPhones - if you care.

  • IWeb make it load faster

    Hi!
Could you please recommend me a program or give a solution how to make iWeb page load faster?
OMG, 14 seconds to load a template with some text on it... broadband 1mbps
I have already search half of the Internet but couldn't find any perfect answer at all.
I converted or png images to JPG and changed the filename back to .png (using automator). The size of files was smaller but insted of transparency I got white colour space. What is strance I didn't find any option in automator to convert to gif.
I have just tried to use some programs: PngOptimizer, PNGCrusher, OptiPNG, iWeb-optimizer, ImageOptim. Some of them doesn't work (Leo 10.5.6) others work not enough good. ImageOptim in my surprise compresed files saving up to 50% of original filesize... but 50% was only for files below 1kB, for those above 50 I get only 0,03%.
I can't wait to try your solutions.

I use Web Site Maestro which will optimize PNGs as well as everything else.

  • Failure to load installer-desc extension if server is redeployed

    Hello,
We have an application that is deployed using webstart using jre1.6.0_06 Everything works for a first time deployment to a client. However, if you stop the server, wipe it clean and then reload the same server configuration, the first time you attempt to run the application from the client it fails with
MissingFieldException[ The following required field is missing from the launch file: <application-desc> | <applet-desc>]
       at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.prepareLaunchFile(Unknown Source)
       at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.prepareToLaunch(Unknown Source)

at com.sun.javaws.Main$1.run(Unknown Source)If you acknowledge the error the download fails. If you try to launch again no error is seen and everything works fine.
There seems to be some confusion on that first execution from a client that has some state in the cache. If you clear the client cache after redeploy of the server it also works without generating that first failure.
The above failure is seen while loading an extension. The client attempts to load a .jnlp file that makes reference to an extension of type <installer-desc> The extension is parsed correctly and all the jar and nativelib entries in the extension are seen and downloaded correctly ( I used the Fiddler proxy to watch the traffic between client and server). However we get the error about a missing <application-desc> tag - when processing this file, well ya, it isn't an application, it is an extension. Fiddler was able to parse the XML that was downloaded and there were no errors.
I tried to download the webstart client source but I could only get the 5.0 version. Looks like there were some extensive changes since the method names do not match up that well.
Any tips on how to debug this further?

This problem seems to be resolved if you run 1.6.0 Update 10 beta on the client.
It looks like extensive changes have been made to the way applets and webstart work in this update.

  • IWeb "failure reading disk quota"

Every time I have tried to publish from iWeb to my .Mac account I have been met with the following error: " Failure reading iDisk quota". I can connect to my iDisk just fine otherwise and I have all my space allocated to it. I called Apple technical support and they said that they only offer email support for .Mac. This is ********! I have to get a website up soon and now I have to go back and forth with Apple (24hrs in between mailings) trying to get a solid answer from these people. I HATE APPLE SOMETIMES. What am I paying $99 a year for?

They finally sent me a response and it worked! Here is the FINAL solution to the problem:

    Dear Robin,
Thank you for your patience while we researched the issue you reported with iWeb.
We are currently investigating an issue affecting some users, who receive an error message while trying to publish a page or site to their .Mac account using iWeb. The error states: "There was an error reading your iDisk quota."
Before we proceed with the steps to resolve this issue, we recommend that you back up iWeb's data file. If you already have this file backed up, you may skip to "Resolving the issue" below.
To locate the file, select Go to Folder from the Finder's Go menu. Then type (or copy and paste) ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb into the field and click Go. You should now see a file named, Domain.
If you have the Backup application that is included with .Mac, you can use this to back up the file to your iDisk, CD/DVD, or to another hard drive.
Note: Though there is an iLife plan in Backup, it does not currently back up the files associated with iWeb. To back up up iWeb's files you will need to use either the Custom or Home Folder plan.
If you do not have Backup, you can create a copy of the file, then place the copy in a safe place. To duplicate the Domain file, click the file once to highlight it, then select Duplicate from the File menu. This will create a copy of the file named, Domain copy. Move this file to the desktop or any other safe location.
    Resolving the issue:
    1. Quit iWeb, if it is open. Select Go to Folder from the Finder's Go menu. Then type (or copy and paste) ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb into the field and click Go. You should now see a file named, Domain. This is a Mac OS X package file.
Note: A package is a relatively common type of document in Mac OS X; it is essentially a sealed folder. It contains individual items, but cannot be opened in the same manner as a folder.
    2. To open the package, hold the Control Key and click on the Domain package file.
Note: If you have a two-button mouse, this [removed same] step can be accomplished by right-clicking the Domain package file.
    3. Select Show Package Contents from the contextual menu that appears.
    4. A new window will appear containing a folder named Contents.
    5. Open the Contents folder. Here you will see one, and possibly two files named assets.<membername>.groups.<groupname>.plist or assets.<membername>.plist, where <membername> and <groupname> correspond to your .Mac member name and .Mac Group name.
Note: Your .Mac member name is  the first part of your .Mac email address, before "@mac.com."
    6. If you have either or both of these files, move them to the trash. Then close the Contents window.
    7. Relaunch iWeb and try publishing again.
    Sincerely,
    Mike

I have no problems connecting to my iDisk. When I am in iWeb, I click "publish to .Mac" and when it gets about half way through the progress bar it halts and says, "There was an error reading your iDisk quota". I had a trial account before and it worked just fine. As soon as I purchased a full .Mac account I have been having this error. I've gone though your discussion boards and I found people that were having the same problem and according to them Apple repsonded that it was a problem server side and they corrected it within minutes. Something to do with too many people signing up for new accounts.
    Thanks,
    Robin

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Go to your your User/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder and move the Domain.sites2 file to the desktop. Launch iWeb, create a new site (if you can) and see if you have any better success. If so then your original domain file is corrupt. If not then a reinstall of iWeb seems indicated. To do so you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iWeb" in the file name that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder. Next, install iWeb from the disk it came on, apply the latest updaters, reboot, launch iWeb and try again.

  • Windows 8 failure to load after restart - stuck on automatic repair or Lenovo screen

    I have a 1 week old Lenovo G580
     Intel Core i3 3110M(2.40GHz) 15.6" 4GB Memory DDR3 1600 500GB HDD 5400rpm DVD±R/RW Intel HD Graphics 4000
Came with Windows 8 x64 ent
    Had previously been working beautifully.
I closed the lid to put it to sleep and when I opened it back up the sound driver was not working.
    So I restarted Windows.
Ever since that restart, I can not get windows to load.
It either gets stuck on the black Lenovo screen or goes into the Automatic Repair mode, tries diagnosing my PC.  Some of the times the error feedback it has given me is to search online for CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED.....but none of what I have found helps.
The automatic repair eventually prompts me to do a system restore.  However, when I click 'Restore' it then goes to the Black Lenovo screen for about an hour.  I haven't had the patience to let it sit like that for more than an hour, and IMO with ZERO feedback on the restore process I guess that means there was some restore failure.
I was finally able to get into the Lenovo Setup Utility (pressing F2 IMMEDIATELY on powerup) but so far none of the boot option changes have helped.
Is there any other way to do a 'hard restore' while saving my data?  Is there a way to update the BIOS or registry options from the setup utility?  I'm feeling extremely limiting because the setup utility is the only alternative screen I can reach.
    Anything helps,
    Thanks.

    SO it finally restored.
I guess the system restore with windows 8/lenovo just takes several hours and gives no feedback during the process. Just the black screen with lenovo. So I left that on for 3+ hours and it restored to a previous date. yay!
