Jabber client status on call / meeting

hi
i have configured jabber clients for mac 8.6.5 and windows 9.1 with our new cups 8.6.4 server
i have enabled calendar integration and this is working really well
too  well :-)
if i have a meeting from 2-3pm my status changes to "in a meeting" but when i pick up the deskphone the status remains in a meeting rather than on a call. if my calendar has no meetings and i pick up the phone it changes the status to on a call.
this is slightly annoying as you often have scheduled meetings (by phone) for 1 hour but are actually only in the meeting for 45 mins, so if the phone status (on a call) could over ride the calendar status that would be better imho. as people may  think you are still attending this meeting but you are actually available, nobody will edit their meeting if it finished early
or is this something that can be configured, i guess i can turn off the calendar integration but it does have its merits so would rather not do so
many thanks

Unfortunately the user is still having the status update issue after isntalling the 9.0.5 release.
When the user with this issue is unable to answer her extension, we then have it setup so that others in her department can see the call and answer her extension.  Is it possible that this might be why the status is still showing she is on a call when she isn't?
It appears the setup explained above is not the problems.  Other users are now reporting the incorrect status in 9.0.5 as well.

  • Jabber / Presence status phones with no Jabber client

    Hello,
I was wondering if the Jabber client displays the presence status of other phones in the culster (linked to a user, but the user himself does not have a Jabber client)?
If yes, can you provide me the steps required for this setup? We have a customer having a Jabber POC, and all is working perfectly, except for that particular point.
    Thanks a lot,
    Antoine

Yes, just make sure all the user/line/device association is properly configured along with the SIP trunk to make sure it has a CSS which can see those phones, and enable them for presence.
Just add the users to Jabber and they should show offline all the time, you'll only see their status when on a call.

  • IPhone Jabber Client Video Calls Unavailable

I'm having trouble getting my iPhone to make video calls.  I can make video calls via J4W with the same CUCM/IM-P cluster, and my iPhone Jabber client is having no problem getting IMs, presence information, or making standard voice calls, but when I go to "Settings - Audio and Video", it simply has a message that says "Video is currently unavailable"
The "Dual-Mode for iPhone" device in CUCM has video calling enabled.  What other settings could I be missing?

    You would want to get this tested in iPhone 4s and above. check this portion of the document;

  • Unable to select 'Use Phone for audio calls' on Cisco Jabber Client 9.6 for Windows

    Hi,
I have recently deployed Cisco Presence Server and integrated with Call Manager 9.1.2. I have successfully deplyed 6700 users on IM & Presence. Some of the users requested for Cisco Jabber with phone control.
I have added CFS client on the Call Manager and associated it with the same extension numbers from their desk phones. I am currently able to make audio and video calls for these specific users. I am currently using Cisco Jabber Client 9.6 for windows. I have users both daisy chained to their desk phones and who are not. Can you please confirm if it does make any difference.
    Problem Faced -
I am not able to use to option use phone for audio calls. The phone comes down with a cross sign on it. At the same time Cisco Jabber by default uses the client and it works as expected.
Can you please let me know if any of you guys have faced a similar issue.
Please let me know if you need any information regading the configuration used.
Looking forward for your valuable comments.
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Joseph Chirayath.

    Hi Will,
I am attaching the screen shot for the END USER on CUCM 9.X that has been configured on Cisco Jabber.
Please do let me know if you need any further information.

  • Softphone feature for Cisco Jabber Client

    Hello everyone,
I have a CUCM cluster v.8.6.2 and a CUPS v.8.6.4. I've installed my full CUWL licenses as well as my CUP Licenses AND the Jabber for Everyone COP file. I've managed to install Jabber on Mac and on Windows and have all the features such as Chat, Desktop phone integration and Visual Voicemail with Cisco Unity Connection working as well. The only feature I'm having a huge hassle getting to work is the Softphone feature. I've tried adding a CUPC device with the user (btw everything is integrated and uses LDAP for authentication) as the digest account for it as well as the Owner ID. I've tried adding a CSF device as well (I remember reading it somewhere) but the Jabber client never discovers a Softphone device and all of the options on the client are grayed out for me to put in the device settings. I thought I saw it once looking for a device name CSFACILLI (ACILLI being my username) in the System Diagnostics for the Jabber for Mac client but now it just shows:
       Soft Phone Server
    Server Address:           cucm02.mycompany.net
    Server Port:                     2748
    Server Protocol:           --
    Device:                               --
    Line ID:                               --
    Status:                               Disconnected
Any help or thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
    Tony

It looks like it's trying to get CTLFile.tlv from my TFTP servers (which are my subscribers). I went under TFTP File Management under OS Administration on the Subscribers and no such file exists. Is this something I have to download from Cisco? It does look like it's trying for the correct device, just can't get the Configuration File it needs... Your thoughts?

  • Jabber Client softphone is "No Connected"

    Hi,
I am trying to setup a lab for cisco partner testing. I created Collab 10.5 topology with cucm & cups 10.5. I am running out of ideas of what could be wrong. My jabber client for windows works with deskphone but it does not work with it's softphone (CSFXXXXX). Yes, i have CCMCIP profile created, user & device associated but still does not work both within lab network or external network
I am seeing the error below when I do a show connection status for the softphone - see attachment
Connection error. Ensure the server information in the Phone Services tab on the Options window is correct.
I do not have the "Phone Accounts" under options. I even uploaded jabber-config.xml file to tftp server and still no phone accounts tab. I can ping the cti hostname & ip from the pc i am working.

Actually, I read it on a thread in this community. I just went thru’ the deployment guide and I saw that section too.   I have uploaded it to the tftp server and no change for the phone tabs. Only the Directory service becomes online after uploading that file but no change on the phone account tabs. • Voice recording for jabber client

    hi,
is there any voice recording solution for the jabber client via expressway E?
seems there is no solution around, is it not supported?
is it possible to use TCS to record the calls made by external jabber client?
    thanks.

    1. Use span (no span-less\Bridge_option) ports (via "expressway c e"  from outside)
    2. Use span-less\Bridge_option  and VPN access to connect from outside (without expressway).

  • IPhone Jabber client not showing internal extensions just the Alerting Name

I have customer calling from a 7965 to his desk phone 7965 which shows both Alerting Name and Extension, he also has an iPhone/Jabber Client on WiFi (no cellular involved). The iPhone client shows the Alerting Name from the 7965 but doesn’t show the 4 digit internal extension. Is this a known issue?

    Dear Miro,
The issue has nothing to do with the server it's the client, Lync 2013 issue with caching data and the way its reading it back from the cache.
    Work around:
just create a new client policy using the command new-csclientpolicy with AddressBookAvailability  "WebSearch" only.
    "New-CsClientPolicy -Identity TestCsPolicy -AddressBookAvailability WebSearchOnly"
assign the policy to your test client, delete cache folder at the client end.
    "Grant-CsClientPolicy -Identity MIRO -PolicyNameTestCsPolicy"
"you can delete sign-in information by signing out and clicking on "delete sign-in info" then sing-in again"
    test again. it should work.
if it didn't open contact card and check if the the client is getting the data correctly.
yet i didn't find another fix to the issue with lync 2010 client everything works just fine without any changes.

  • Jabber Client Discrepancies

    Hi Everyone,
I just finished rolling out Jabber to over 150 users for a Cisco Gold Partner ( internally we wanted to deploy and have "lessons learned" before rolling to customers ).  We are all pretty much "power users" and we rolled it out to users on Mac, PC, iPad, Android Tablet, and Android/iPhones.  Here is my list of "cough" features that are desparite between the varous clients and I would greatly appreciate anyone from the BU or Cisco to chime in on when these clients will be uniform.  I had to open 2 TAC cases already ( # 625139231 and 624998053 ) which were esclated to the Developers and I have had ZERO response.
I think it's an awesome product, we are already pitching it to customers with heavy emphasis on Video on Tablets/BYOD.  However, as a CCIE Voice Architect I cannot look a business owner in their face and tell them that MS Lync doesn't have a nicer/feature rich interface and ALL of their features work on all devices.
Here is what I have issues with:
    1.  Windows Client 9.1.3 latest rev - Google Calendar integration - once you have authenticated once to google for your calendar you CANNOT remove the calendar and join a differnet calendar.  Come on, this is easy coding to fix!  We are a Google Apps shop, migrated off exchange three years ago.  Right now, if a user wants to use different GMAIL Accounts they cannot.  No one at Cisco TAC can tell me where the settings are cached for this.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled, removed registry entries, deleted the Unified Communications folder under app user, everything to try to fix this.
    2.  Biggest complaint we have right now is MAC doesn't have Video, I know this is coming in the next release, but if there is anything we can do to speed this along it would be greatly appreciated from the field.
    3.  Why is the "screen clipping" tool available on Windows but not MAC?  We have users who LOVE that tool on Windows, no where to be seen on MACs
    4.  Multiple Line support - we have users who had multiple lines configured just fine on CUPC, this should have been included in the Jabber client in my opinion.
    5.  The "Call" button is in two differnet locations on the MAC client vs Windows client, it's very aggrevating to train 100+ people on two differnent locations for the same feature.
    6.  Added Contacts - on the Windows and MAC client, if you add a contact, there is NO way to edit their information.  That needs to be there NOW, we cannot add or edit directory/external phone numbers to contacts we add to the directory.
    7.  No way for Admins to update/delete contacts from users - this is perhaps the most annoying thing.  We as admins can "BAT" 100+ users into the system, but then what?!?!  When a new hire comes on board we have to update all 100 BAT files again.  To make things worse, you can pull up an end users account in CUIP but cannot remove old contacts from their list.  In addition, if you try to BAT over top of an already imported buddy list it creates duplicates.  I would settle for a SQL QUERY I could run via command line "ie run sql update buddy list set..." or something.  This is becoming very frustrating to maintain.
    8.  Jabber does not play very well with Cisco WebEx One Click.  My Windows Jabber client crashes every time and I have to reinstall it.
If someone from the BU or Dev teams could take a look at this list and respond I would GREATLY appreciate it.  I don't mean to blow this out of proportion but like I said, I have lived this product for the last three weeks and I think it's great, just needs some polish!
    Thanks!

  • Jabber Client on iPod Touch 5th Gen

I'm running the Cisco Jabber client on an iPod Touch 5th Gen and running into an issue with call notification coming across when the jabber app is in background mode.  I get a repeating pulsing on the device and visual notification of a call being presented, but no audible ringtone.  If you bring the app to the forefront, you get the audible ringtone.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

What does Settings > Notification Center > Cisco Jabber show? It needs an alert style of Banners or Alerts.
Please remember to rate helpful responses and identify helpful or correct answers.

  • Jabber client on android devices.... Xoom maybe?

Im playing around with the Jabber client on my Samsung Epic 4G and it works great.  Connects to my Cisco wireless, CUCM 8.x and makes calls like it should (in the office)
I have a Xoom, and got jabber loaded on it.  Connected it the same way.  The problem is there is no default phone.apk app for the xoom (wifi only).   So when the jabber app goes for a keypad request or phone, its not there.
Anyone seen an android app to default for keypad or dialer app, whatever you want to call it?    Im merely testing and playing around with this, nothing for production, but wanted to see if it would work.
    Cheers!

Hey man!  Well, no worries. Im sure everything with Cius first, then other android tablets coming.   At least NetFlix is working now on the Xoom

  • Jabber Client CallerId displays wrong name

    Hi,
I have a problem with the wrong name displaying in Jabber calls. This only occurs when John calls from his Jabber Client. There is always the CallerId of Sam showing up.
Checked AD, Outlook contacts, CUCM & Webex configuration and found no errors.
Then I generated a problem record in my Jabber for Windows client and found this in PROBLEM_FEEDBACK_Cisco_Jabber_17.49_01-08-2013\Contacts\PersonManager\PersonManagerForensics.txt:
    [1] <PersonResolver: 0D32AD90>
    Original record: <0D36E2B8>
    <Person: 0D36E370>
      <PersonRecord: 0D36E2B8> (Roster:[email protected])
      <PersonRecord: 09349160> Sam Sample (WebEx:[email protected])
      <PersonRecord: 0F10FE60> Doe, John (CallerID:+491234567890:Doe, John)
In the other records there is only one name associated to one person. How did John number slip in here. And most interesting, how can I get rid of that entry? Where is it originated?
Same Problem occurs at a customer site with a on premise deployment (CUPS). So it doesn't seem to be Webex related. Tried several Jabber versions from 9.1.3 to 9.2.3. Same behaviour.
    Any suggestions hints?
    Regards
    Andre

I think I see what is going on, just not entirely sure why and how to prevent it yet.
Look at the two records below, taken from the "PersonManagerForensics.txt" file generated once you report a problem through the Jabber application.
That first contact is a personal contact in the users Outlook address book.
The second contact is an employee.
When the user calls the second contact in Jabber, the caller ID always shows up as first contact. Same thing happens if the second contact calls the user.
The caller ID for the first contact is the same last 4 digits as the internal employees DID number. We use 4 digit dialing. Not really sure why the caller ID record for the first contact resolved to those last 4 digits of that one telephone number.
    Jabber issue....or Outlook issue???
    I'll open a TAC case.

  • Jabber Client through Collab Edge dials MCU - no Video

    Hi There,
I think this is a licensing issue, but would need clarification as to what is required.
We have Jabber Clients externally connecting through Collab Edge,  Jabber to Jabber video works great, but when conferencing the client gets only Audio.  (this is expected).
We have implemented a software MCU via a SIP trunk from the CUCM which works fine internally, but when Jabber clients dial this through Collab Edge, no video is received or sent.
My understanding is some "Rich Media" license is required on VCSe or VCSc?  Can someone explain what is required or another way to accomplish multiparty video using external jabber clients?
    Thanks

Rich media sessions licenses are only required if you need to video call people outside of your organization, that is the registration of the remote user's endpoint doesnt register to the CUCM that is integrated with MRA.
Are you using device mobility by any chance and have you set certain locations for users who come in through MRA? Does this location have enough bandwidth for video?

  • Jabber for iPhone cannot call over Expressway. Expressway says: Bad Extension

    Hi,
I've had Expressway working but now calls from/to Jabber for iPhone fail with a message "Bad Extension" in Expressway-E.
Is there someone that is willing to share the search rules of Expressway-E required that are required for Jabber to make/receive calls. I think I accidentally deleted one or changed one.
    Regards,
    Erik

Yes, I got an answer from TAC and it is was the solution to my problem.
It had to do with announcing IPv6 support by the clients. (header "Requires: anat")
By creating a new Common Device Configuration that disables IPv6 (IP Addressing Mode), thus IPv4 only, and assigning this common device configuration to all devices using MRA, solved my problem.
Let me know if this also fixes your problems!

  • Jabber Client Download Link

We have a link to download the Cisco-WebEx Connect clent from the WebEx Meeting Center Downloads page, and from Org Admin.
For our users who wish to use the Jabber client, is there a link to download the current production version of the Jabber client that doesn't require a Service Contract for download?
    Thank you -

So, if an end-customer has the WebEx CSM team replace the default Connect client in Org Admin with the Jabber client instead, how does the end-customer then distribute that Jabber client to his end-users?
    Thank you Jaime.
