  • STOCK OF FINISHED PRODUCT BY PIR NOT CONSIDERING WHILE TAKING MRP RUN

    DEAR SAPGURUS,
I have finished product stock of 50 nos through planned independent requairement. now i am creating sales order for finished product but mrp run generate the planned order for finished product. I dont have planned order for finished product because material already have stock. what can i do please give solution.
    thanks.
    Regards
    Atul

    Hi Atul,
Please describe your problem better, it's not easy to understand...
Strategy 10 is net reqirement planning:
    - SAP considers only PIRs as requirements, SOs are not considered
    - SAP considers stock levels
    - requirements should be LSF (check in MD04)
If you input sales order SAP won't create PldOrd for it. If you have stock and you want to create more to fulfil you SO, you have to input PIR accordingly and run MRP.
Please clarify your problem...in a way that we may understand it.

  • While MRp run which time is taken into consideration(from PIR or from MM)

    Hi PP gurus,
When we run MRP which time is taken into consideration for a bought out material :
From Material Master ( Planned delivery time)
    or
From Purchase Info record : the delivery time mentioned in the PIR ..
In my case the MRp run is showing 2 different results in different systems for the same material.
Also please let me know that if there is any priority that can be set in SPRO for picking up the time while MRP run and what takes priority and when.

    Hi!,
If you are getting two different values after MRP in two different systems then please check:
    1.  whether any other info record exist for the same material in any of the system.
    2. Have you maintained source list in both the systems for the material. How many sources are defined in the source list and in what sequence. If you have not maintained a quota arrangement then system will take first line item of the source list.
You can't set the priority for the planned delivery time but you can set whether system should take planned delivery time from info record or not in IMG setting Material Management > Consumption based Planning > Planning > Procurement Proposals > Define External Procurement. To use the planned delivery time from info record you must maintain a source list for that material with same vendor. Also make that source as MRP relevant.

  • PIR creation & MRP run

I hav a FERT material, it's BOM contains HALB & ROH material. After PIR creation & MRP run my client wants to material requirement planning only needed for FERT material.
Currently it's planning for all material in BOM as per the std SAP.
kindly give me a sol'n for this

    Hi,
With MD03 you ca execute Planning at Single Material single level.
    Do not run MD01.MDBT & MD02.
One suggestion would be why not to consider MPS Concept fo the FERT?

  • MRP run for limited period

    Hi all,
My client wants to enter PIR in MD61 for next 12 months. But MRP run should create requirements only for next 3 months. How can this be achieved. kindly help. Can defining planning horizon help me or there is some other control?
    Regards.

Not sure if you interpreted Mr. Rajesha's inputs clearly.
The planning horizon solution works, but you need to ensure you run MRP with NETPL key.
Anyways for PIR solution, all you need to do is just maintain 2 lines for the same material. Line - 1 will be version 00 which is active, line - 2 will be version 01, which is in-active.
Now in version 00 maintain the values for the next 3 months & for the remaining months maintain in version 01. So as you move along the time line, all you would need to do is copy from 01 to 00 only for the months for which you want to plan.
This way with just 2 versions you can have your control & visibility. Do this in your sandbox & check if it is workable for you.

  • Production orders not to be considered during MRP run

    Dear SAPeers,
i want to know how to ensure that open production orders are not considered during the MRP run.
    the following is the scenario.
PIR for march after MRP run creates a planned order. this planned order is converted to production order. now this production order is processed but not completely confirmed and TECOed after a certain quantity has been produced.
now we delete the old PIR and create a new PIR in the next month. now we revoke the TECO status of the production order and run MRP. I want to know how to avoid MRP from considering the open production order and create planned order for the complete PIR quantity.
    Thanks and Regards
    Srinivasan

    Srini,
what i am worried is shortfall of raw materials in case they were to open the production order in the current month after the planning has been done. how do we allocate raw materials for both the plan as well as the open production order?
Okay, you presumably had RM available for all of your production orders (and those RM were balanced by the reservations from the production orders).  Now, you TECO the production order.  In effect, any un-issued RM are now released and freely available for other orders/planned orders.  Now you plan the following month.  Those RM that were freed can and will be used for the new plan.  Odd business process, but OK.  Now, you re-open the production orders, and, yes, you will have a shortage unless you run RM MRP again.  This is, ah, inconsistent with any business process I have ever seen.
The question that jumps to mind is, "Why re-open the old production orders at all?  Alternatively, why were they TECOd in the first place?"  If one knows that he intends to complete an order in production, one does not normally TECO the order, and then later reverse the TECO.
With respect to my name, I must unfortunately keep a low profile.  Ever since I escaped from the mental institution, the thought-police have been hunting for me. I do not wish to be the recipient of any further electroshock 'treatments'.

  • Consideration of stock of discontinued FG or trading material during MRP Run

There is an functionality of follow up material for component. I would like to know if there is any similar option available for finished goods or trading materials.
I am doing procurement planning for externally procured Trading materials. Now my previous material A is being replaced by material B. Therefore all the planned independent requirement is available in system only for B. But still there is some stock available for material A. How can it be considered during MRP run for material B.
    Example,
    Material A:
    On Hand Stock = 100
    Planned Independent Req. = 0
    Material B:
    On Hand Stock = 300
    Planned Independent Req. = 1000
In this case if we run MRP for material B, how we ask system to plan Purchase Requisitions for 600 instead of 700 for material B, considering stock of material A.

    Hello
Please refer to the following SAP note:
    43636 - Discontinued parts
This note provides a detailed explanation of the system standard design of the usage of discontinued parts with material requiremenst planning and the most common questions about this issue.
The following information is provided on this note regarding the PIRs:
    2. Planned independent requirements and forecast requirements are not redirected.
Explanation: Planned independent requirements after the effective-out date are not redirected but are provided with an exception message in the MRP list stating that they cannot be included in the availability check. Planned independent requirements and forecast requirements are therefore displayed in the MRP list and in the stock/requirements list. However, they do not influence planning

  • MRP Run error " Schedule Lines not generating properly"

    Hi Folks,
I am facing a typical issue with MRP Run.
Every time when I am running the MRP for a particular material I have made settings such that Schedule lines to be generated by maintaining the Source list and MRP relevancy as 2 in source list. Also I have fixed the vendor. Now my problem is I am getting Schedule lines for first run and Combination of Purchase requests and Schedule lines or only PRs for the next MRP run.. This is keep on repeating in such as way that the planning is shifting as said above for subsequent MRP Run.
Note that the initial settings during MD02 remain same for all run.
I want only schedule lines to be generated but not PR.
Pls advise and provide input where the wrong might be.
    Quick responce would be appreciated.
    Regards
    Shash

    Dear shash,
Check with What are the MRP control Parameters values which you are using for the MRP run.
In MD02, For Deleivery schedules run with value 3 - That's -  Schedule lines.
The other options are     1  No schedule lines
2  Schedule lines in the opening period.
check with this & revert back.

  • PR created after MRP run, instead of schedule line

    Dear all,
I want to create schedule lines automatically from the planning run, for raw material. I have maintained info record, scheduling agreement, quota arrangements and also the source list.
For the raw material, safety stock of 1000 nos. has been maintained. The current stock of the material is 0.
After MRP run, based on the upper level PIRs, schedule lines are generated properly. But, against the safety stock of 1000, a PR is generated.
I donot want a PR to be generated.
    Please suggest a solution.
    Thanks in advance,
    Shrenik
Edited by: Shrenik on Mar 8, 2008 4:17 PM

    Dear all,
I checked an found that the schedule agreement date does not have any effect. Even if the requirement date falls outside the date range, i am able to create schedule lines.
I also found that if i maintained GR processing time, then always a PR is created. If GR processing time is 0, then only schedule line is created. Moreover, planned delivery time does not have any effect on the calculations, even if it is 10 days, 20 days or 900 days.
Can someone please clarify all these? How are these times taken into account?
    Thanks in advance,

  • MRP Run - Planning file entry Issue

    Dear All,
We are facing one problem in MRP Run. We run MRP in the background for a plant (MDBT) System is not creating planned order for few component. I have checked all relevant setting. I found that planning file entry is missing. I would like to know that how system can miss the material? How system creates & delete planning file entry ? I have some data related to this.
Last MRP run date is 22-04-09
    PIR changed date on 30-04-09
MDRE Run on the 30-.4-09 at night.
MRP Run on 02-05-09 at night.
Problem reported that no planned order for the material on 07-05-09.
We have huge number of material so its difficult to check all material individually whether MRP run happend or not ?
Please let me know the possible reason for this.
    Thanks & Regards
    Kundan Kumar

    Dear,
If you carte materaial or uplod materail before activation plant for MRP this may be the cause for this.
Planning File creates all the materials relevant for the planning run.
The planning run and the scope of the planning run (which materials are planned in which planning run) are controlled by the planning file.
For planning file entry use the following transactions,
MD20 : Create planning file entry
MD21 : Display planning file entry
MDAB : Set up planning file entry in background
MDRE : Check planning file entry Please run this in it will solve your problem
All materials assigned with MRP are automatically entered in planning file entry.
Depends on changes in material planning or in proposal , system will create planning file entry.
When MRP run system will consider only which materials having entry in above contents of planning file entry. After MRP run system delete the planning file entry. And again material gone the changes like GI GR on any other demand  then system generate planning file enty again.
Hope it will help you to understand basic concept.

  • When sales order is Blocked (oldest of open items overdue) MRP run avoid

We got a challenge with Client requirement regarding over due of payment terms
    1. Credit master records Customer Credit limit usage example 24.14%
    2. Customer Oldest open item is over due status
    3. Sales order created with the warning message Oldest Item overdue sales order will save this setting is in OVA8
    4. Even though sales order is created Credit master record Customer Credit limit usage  remain same 24.14% right
    5. Delivery will not happen because sales order is blocked.
    6. Exceptional case sales order will release for this customer 9500775
    7. Then Credit limit usage will update in Credit master record.
8.After release in VK31 delivery will able  create with refernec to sales order.
Here the challenge is after the sales order created in 3 step when you run the MRP planned order is creating. we want to avoid that till the sales order will release.

There is Tick in Delivery block 01 Deliveries: Blocking Reasons/Criteria
I have observed in testing Before you save a sales order, you look at the schedule line overview, you can see what the system would Proposed confirm date and confirmed qty, if the block were  not set. However, as soon as you save the sales order,(warring message Oldest open items over due will appear) the confirmed quantities are automatically reset to zero because sales order is Blocked. Here the goods remain available for other customers.
Note : When you release the sales order the automatically in sales order confirmed qty and proposed date will come.
Here the problem is  when they do MRP run after sales order saved with block Planned order is creating.

  • Sales order link to MRP run

    Dear gurus,
I have one query regarding sales order link to MRP run.
I had created sales order by VA01 & also independent requirement in MD61.
Both are acknowledged in MRP run.I know the requirement in MD61 transferred for MRP run(MD02/MDBT/MD01).
But my question is how sales order requirement considered in MRP run i.e. link to MRP run.Is there any customization?
    Pl.suggest the same...
    Rg,
    Tushar

    Hi,
    Strategy 11  :-
Sales Order creation - no impact.
    BSF    Gross planned independent requirements
KSL    Sale from stock without independent
    Requirement reduction
Goods Receipt - minus the quantity for the oldest planned independent in demand management. For e.g. if PIR is 100 and delivery 90, PIR becomes 10 (withdrawal 90).
Delivery - no impact as delivery is issue from sales order.
    Hope clear to you.

  • MRP run for header material with bom usage-3

    Dear All,
We have header material with bom usage-3.We maintain the stock at child components only ,not at header
I have created the planned independent requirement for header material.I have created a sales order but sales order is not shown in md04.
What can be the further setting  I am missing for mrp run of above scenario.
    with regards,
    pradeep

    Dear ,
Couple of checks points for you :
1.Check the material master Sales Org Veie-Item Categoery .As you have mentioned Item Categoery -TAQ which is not relevent for requirement planning throgh schedule line category -CT ( CT means there will not be any inventory or good movement and requirement will not be passed for MRP ) .Only CP -line item categoery does requirement passing through MRP and it will show u in MD04. So the summery is if you want to generate an MTO order for the same FG material , you should matian the Sales Line item categoery as MTO in sales Org View and it will pop up in VA01 whiel logging Sales Order .
Generally , TAQ item categoery are used in Project Billing or Delivery .ok  and they will not be having any availabilit check so it KP ( no check ) .
But for MTO order , you should have availablty chek 02/01 in MRP3 view and also MTO Sales Item categoery .
Based on the above information logg an sales order , release credit chek in VKM3, SAVE and check in MD04.
Create PIR in MD61 and Run MRP on the both cases .I have tested its working .but noit with TAQ item categoery ok
2.Why do you need to create Sales Order for dependent Item-Y because it will be in X-BOM item  ? Make sure that Y- should have Sales Item categoery in material master -MM02-Sales Org View as NORM item .If you really want to create sale sorder for this item , it should TAN or NORM .
3.Other PIR detail is fine .
    Try and revert back

  • How to know if a MRP run element is using Quota Arrangement and lot size?

    Hi all,
    Two questions:
    A) How to determine if a source is actually pulled from Quota Arrangement?
I am wondering if there is anyway from ABAP table or from Transaction (i.e. Purchasing Order) in which the source is pulled from a Quota Arrangement?
We use scheduling agreement, PIR and source list, and as well as Quota Arrangement for our purchasing.
I just want to know how, from system (table and transaction), to find out the source is from quota, not from PIR or others.
    B) Quota Arrangement still can work properly if lot-size procedure's splitting quota indicator not Checked?
If my the lot-size procedure which I am using for a material does not activate the splitting quota indicator, it means split quota will not work during MRP run.
But does this also mean that quota arrangement will not be working for this particular material even if I have create a a quota arrangement object (via MEQ1) for this material?
    Thanks
    Daniel

    Tomek,
If I want to use the split quota, it seems there is some pre-requisite.
If you go to MEQ1 and press F1's on the "Minimum qty split" column, and you will notice the following message.
Allocation by quota using splitting quotas is only carried out via a requirement planning run, subject to the following preconditions:
Through the appropriate entry in the field Quota arrangement usage (on the MRP data screen 2 or Purchasing screen) it must have been specified that a quota arrangement is to be applied in the planning run.
The indicator for the splitting quota must be set for the the lot-sizing procedure used for materials planning purposes in Customizing.
Hence, the quota arrangmeent still workable even if the lot-size does not have the spliting quota box checked?
Indicator: Splitting quota in short-term horizon
The indicator for splitting is used to determine that in the case of the selected lot size, the quota arrangement is to be applied using the splitting logic.
    Use
If this indicator has been set, the lot is split up in the planning run according to the following formula:
                                quota for source X
    Quantity for source  X = --------------------- * requirement
                               sum of all quotas
