#00 Phillips driver is needed to access the RAM modules.
Take out the modules, clean the contacts with alcohol and make certain that they are firmly seated.

  • Full battery but will not turn on

    Hi,
I can tell that my battery is completely charged, but my ibook will not turn on. It is completely unresponsive. I would appreciate any help, thanks.

    Hi!
You may have to try and see if you can perform a "power management
unit reset" and some information on how to do that with your computer
should be on this page/link: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=14449
With each portable model the instructions vary; and with desktop units,
they are different also. Some require you to remove the battery, while
others have keyboard combinations; and then there are means which
require the user to go into open firmware; but if it will not start first, the
open firmware options are not practical, of course!
Not sure if removing the battery and trying to run the computer
    from the AC power adapter alone could help in troublehshooting;
but this may involve a trip to a service center if it won't run at all.
    Good luck in this matter!

  • Phone has full signal but will not send texts

I am on a contract with an S5 mini and can have it showing full signal and 4G but I have to go walk about to try to get a text to send, my friends will send me texts that arrive hours later, in a completely random order to which they were sent some have never arrived.  I use to be on O2 and in my front room I did very rarely have an issue with texts going but they would go within a minute or 2 with EE I can try switching my phone on and off and walking all round the house and the garden and they still won't go, yet I can pick up 4G and call using the phone.  This is very annoying.

Hi I don't think that will be the answer as I don't receive 4G indoors and that is a really bad place to send and receive texts but I will try that when I am outside thanks

My 160GB ipod classic stopped whilst playing music and will not turn back on despite having almost a full battery. I have tried connecting to itunes and a docking station but will not turn on at all - HELP?!
I've had this from new for 2 years, the battery life is excellent and lasts for days so I know it's not a power issue as it was fully charged that morning. No signs of connection in itunes, it's not showing as a connected device.
    Can anyone please help?

How do i restore my wifi setting back to the factory settings? I have changed it somehow :/ and now my wifi will not connect. My Airport is on and showing full strength but will not connect.

Ok, if other devices are connecting but just not your MacBook then let's start troubleshooting the MacBook to possibly find out why.
Please try each of the following, in order, until hopefully resolved:
Note the following are excerpts from an OS X Daily article.
    * Turn Airport on & off – You can do this via the Airport menu bar or from the Network Preferences. This is the first thing you should try when troubleshooting Mac wireless problems.
    * Make sure Wireless/Airport card software & firmware is up to date – This is usually done just by going to the Software Update menu, if there are any updates available for your Mac or Airport, install them.
    * Delete and recreate connection – Try deleting and recreating/reestablishing the wireless connection, sometimes a setting can be corrupted and this may fix it.
    * Create a new Network Location – Similar to the above suggestion, try creating a new and different wireless network location to see if it resolves the connection problems.
    * Change DHCP auto settings to manual – sometimes there is a problem with the DHCP server, and if you manually set an IP address on the network you can be fine. Remember to set the IP to a high number so it wouldn’t interfere with other DHCP machines. As long as you have the subnet mask, router, and DNS settings configured manually as well, this shouldn’t be a problem.
    * Flush the DNS cache – Launch the Terminal and enter the following command onto one full line within the Terminal: dscacheutil -flushcache
    * Zap the PRAM – Reboot your Mac and hold Command+Option+P+R during restart until you hear another chime, let the Mac boot as usual.
    * Delete Wireless Config files – Delete com.apple.internetconfigpriv.plist and com.apple.internetconfig.plist files from ~/Library/Preferences and reboot
    * Trash your home directories SystemConfiguration – Remove all files within ~/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/ and then reboot your Mac.
    * Reset your Mac’s System Management Controller (SMC) – For MacBook and MacBook Pro’s: Shutdown the MacBook/Pro, remove the battery, disconnect the power, hold the Power Key for 15 seconds. Replace the battery, reconnect power, and zap the PRAM and wait for 2 chimes before letting the keys go. Let boot as usual.

  • HT4993 My iPhone 4s has tured off and will not turn back on I have only had it a week it has been in the Otter box case the entire time

My iPhone 4s has tured off and will not turn back on I have only had it a week it has been in the Otter box case the entire time. What do I do to get my phone back on??????

You can try to press the home button and power button and hold them for around 15-20 seconds. This will perform a soft reset similar to pulling the battery. If that doesn't help you may need to restore it.

  • Ipad has wifi connection but will not download

Hi, I'm having an issue with my Ipad 2 iOS 7.1.2, it only started happening last night. IPad can see and is joined to wifi but will not download or send anything. Always times out after spinning wheel.
Have tried connecting to and joined, various wifi routers in other houses. So know it's not the router. Still no Download or send.
    Have done a hard reset.
    Have reset the network settings.
Any other suggestions. I'm at a bit of a loss.
Oh and the iPad is away from my mac so can not reinstall or restore.

    Howdy PJRS,
It sounds like you are unable to access the internet on your iPad, but you are indeed connected to a Wi-Fi network. I would use the troubleshooting from the following article to help you get that resolved:
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and on. If your Wi-Fi setting is dimmed, follow these steps.
    Restart your iOS device.
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected.
    Tap and Forget this Network.
Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Note: You may need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your network requires one.
Turn your Wi-Fi router off and on2. If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.
Update your device to the latest version of software.
Unable to access the Internet while connected to Wi-Fi
If you're using a public or commercial network, you may need to log in or subscribe.
Check to see if you have a self-assigned IP address:
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected and tap .
If your IP address is 169.254.xxx.xxx, you may not be able to access the Internet.
If you do not have a self-assigned IP address, see if other Wi-Fi devices on your network have Internet access.
If they do not, consult with your network administrator or ISP for further assistance.
If they do, reset network settings on your device by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including:
previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
    recently used Bluetooth accessories
    VPN and APN settings
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the best,
    Sterling

  • IBook G3 800 GHz will work on battery power but will not turn on with AC pl

This iBook will function with a battery, but when the AC is plugged in it does nothing. It will not turn on. Is this a logic board problem or maybe a short or something not connected inside for the AC plug?

    It's a rather complicated repair:
    http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repair/iBook-G3-12-Inch-DC-In-Board/134/1
    Apple doesn't consider it a do-it-yourself job.
Expect to pay $115-$145 for the repair (plus shipping if you have to send it away). The iBook may not be worth the repair, so some people are trying to do it themselves.

  • My ipod touch 3g displays logo and low power but will not turn on

My Ipod 3g displays the apple logo and the low battery screen but it will not turn on.
    Help please?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    Also maybe here:
    See:

    - Try another cable
    - Try another charging source
    - Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, cracked or broken plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genus Bar of an Apple store.
