New 3G Screen Touch
I bought a new 3g iphone and have had it about two weeks. When I make a call or a call comes in. The unit once up to my face will put people on hold, mute them, hang up on them, put them on hold and call someone else in my list what a pain. And yes I know how to hold the phone. I have an old iphone which I wish I would have kept. The new phone is junk, Can anyone help?
My first instinct is to say no, no one can help you because you've already decided the new phone is junk.
But since you asked...
Is this happening while the iPhone is in a case? If yes, try it without the case and see if it still happens. The case may be interfering with the proximity sensor. If it still happens without the case take it in for service, you may have a bad proximity sensor.

Tired Of Re-Doing 40 Home Screen Icons When I Buy A New iPhone (or Touch)
I love my 3G and just bought a new 32gb iPod Touch. I plan on buying my wife and kids 3G's too.
Question:
I've got 40+ shorcuts to webapps (not app store apps mind you)and Safari URL's on my home screen, each with its own custom icon.
Is there a way that I can get my new iTouch and the 3 new 3G's I'm going to buy to sync to something (a backup?) so that I don't have to re-enter the URL's and all those icons again?
I almost tried the 'backup' option on first sync, but decided against it for fear that iTunes would only allow one device to be sync'd to a backup and thus cause a problem when I re-sync'd the original device.
Help.

TIAIf you want all iPhone settings for your iPhone including web apps and web clips to be the same on a new iPhone or iPod Touch, the only way to do so is the restore option from your iPhone's backup, which should not affect anything else with the original device.
Each iPhone and/or iPod or iPod Touch can have its one sync preferences with the same iTunes library and iTunes account, and each can receive the same backup without having any affect on the original device. -
My Brand New Refurbished Ipod Touch is not working
I just bought a brand new refurbished Ipod touch 32GB (current generation), after a week it shows flickering white screens. I seldom used it for the whole week. When I went to apple service centre they told me that the water leak indicator turns into purple colour supposedly white. I ask them, how this thing can happen, because honestly I was always keep it safe and never been contact to any liquid or soak into water. Then I went to another service centre to get second thought – same feedback was given to me. The warranty was void because of the water leak indicator turns into purple colour.
Anyone can help me to resolve my case? Honestly, I seldom used my Ipod touch, never been contact with water and it was always safely kept. Maybe there is some problem down the factory line, why it was refurbished? What is the history of this iPod touch? Maybe from there, something can help me that can prove that is the original problem of this iPod touch.i also got a refurb Touch. luckily, mine works as expected.
a refurb enjoys the same warranty as a new one. take yours to an Apple store near you and have it replaced.

Newer 32GB iPod Touch no longer connects to MacBook.
My newer 32GB iPod Touch no longer connects to my MacBook at all. All has worked fine until yesterday. All cables and USB port check out fine with older iPod. Touch still works beautifully but charge is dwindling. Since it's not recognized by MacBook no charge icons show up. I ran the trouble shooting pages in Apple Support, did all the resets, repaired permissions, reinstalled iTunes, etc. Any suggestions out there? Thanks!
Whenyou plug the iPod into the computer via USB does the iPod's screen show the iPod is charging? (The computer has to be on)
Look at the dock connecort on the iPod and compare it with the dock connector for the iPod that does work. Look for foreign material, bent, broken or corroded contacts and other abnormalities. -

No, I have not tried any backup tools. I havent restored my ipod back to factory settings yet and then sync everything back on it. I am kind of scared too because I dont want to lose anything. I have just been hoping some new apple software update will come out because I know several people have had problems when updating to the newest version available.

hi just got my new apple ipod touch and to download apps it wants to add questions about myself for more sercurity information. i get up to question 3 and it wont let me select a question but it will let me write an answer so i just pressed done and then it says i cant carry on because ive mised out information when it wont let me do a question!

You might try to see if you can change your security questions. Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account > Password and Security.
I'm able to do this, others say they need to input answers to their current security questions in order to make changes, I'm inclined to think its worth a try, you don't have anything to lose.
If that doesn't help you might try contacting Apple through Express Lane (select your country, navigate to iCloud help and enter the serial number of one of your devices) -
Comcast new customer screen after firmware update
Every time I try to update my Airport Extreme's firmware, I get the Comcast new customer screen on my browser and can't access any pages other than that. I've had Comcast come out and they it is a problem with my router and not with them since I can surf the internet when my computer is hooked up directly to the modem. I've tried everything including resetting the Airport and cycling the power and nothing works. The only way I can continue to access the internet is when I upload the factory firmware version to the Airport. Has anyone had this problem before or have any suggestions on how to remedy this?
yeah I recall that pain in the butt problem. You probably had them(Comcast) install their so called mac software which you should not have done .
When my memory comes back I'll post the counter measure.
Although try this in the meantime;
ethernet from Comcast modem to wan port of apple router. ethernet from your Mac to lan port of Apple router. Power off the modem and the router. Bring the modem up first then the router. Place the router using DHCP and set your wireless config if need be. Should work. -
When I try to open my mail (not IMail) a new message screen comes up on my iPad (version 8.1.3 (12B466), and I cannot cancel it; it prevents me from getting to the mail in that mailbox.
Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

- No directly. You have to first get the music in your itunes library on your computer and then sync the music to the new computer.
- You can/should restore you new iPod from the backup of your old iPod to get app date and other things on the new iPod. You will have to reenter passwords since passwords only get restore to the same device. The backup does not contain music so that has to be synced.
