No alerts are being emailed...

Oracle 10gR2 RHEL4
I am wondering why I am not getting any email alerts for tablespace full %age. I setup the email address and everything else but I don't get an email from OEM rather I get emails from my developers saying the tablespace is full :)
Any ideas? Could it be maybe because the owner is SYS? And if so, how could I change that?

o.k, here is what you do.
1) Log into the Grid-Control as SYSMAN and go the preferences tab.
2) On your left hand side click the Rules link.
3) Select the radio button for "Database Availability and Critical States" Rule and click the edit button.
4) Under the General Tab make sure it is checked for the "Make Public".
5) Under the Availability Tab make sure the check for "Metric Error Detected" is checked.
6) Under the Metrics Tab make sure you have all the required "Tablespace%" metrics added.
7) Under Methods make sure the check box for "Send me Email" is checked and click the O.K button.
The above steps should update the Notification Rule.
Now, you should log in to the OEM-GC as whatever user you want the notifications to be sent and follow the steps metioned below.
a) Log into the Grid-Control as user "XYZ" and go the preferences tab.
b) On your left hand side click the Rules link.
c) On the Right End side for "Database Availability and Critical States"-Rule make sure the "Subscribe Send Email" check box is selected.
d) Now click the apply button.
You should now be able to receive notifications for those metrics to that particular user.

  • Alerts are being trigerred for only a few interfaces

    Hi,
    We have created a new alert category and added the container objects SXMS_MSG_GUID and SXMS_FROM_SENDER.And in the ALERT_RULE we have specified to raise alerts for all i.e, we have specified * for sender,receiver etc..,
         When i go into Alert inbox and see there are a few alerts being generated.Which shows that there is no error with the alert category.But these alerts do not belong to my interface(where it is a mapping error in for my interface SXMB_MONI).Than in alert rule again i have changed the sender service to my service than in moni i can see that the mapping failed but there is no alert trigerred for the same.
       But when i don't specify the sender service in alert category it shows the various alerts.
    Please let me know what we have done wrong.

    Its not a best practice to define one Alert rule for all the interfaces....U can create one Alert category and using that u can define different rules for each interface....
    Iam not saying what u have done is worng...but its not a good practice...how ur client is permiting u to do one rule  for all the intrefaces....and while creating the Alert category better u deinfe all the container which are helpful to know what is the error is.

  • HT5622 My security questions are being emailed to an account that is not mine

    My account has been acting funny.
    I log on to change mt password and then goto security questions to change those and the answers are wrong... so I use the email me to rest option and it's sending to an address that is not mine.

    If you don't have access to what your rescue email address is currently set to (you won't be able to change it until you can answer your questions) then you will have to contact Support in your country to get the questions reset.

    When they've been reset you can then update your rescue email address for potential future use : Manage your Apple ID primary, rescue, alternate, and notification email addresses.

    Check if you have defined twice the message in VV33. Check the entries in table NAST (number of entries, ...)
    Sometimes, some mail boxes where have a lot of messages, doesnt know if they have sent the message, so, they send twice or more until they know that it has been sent. So, check how many entries you have in SOST. If you have a lot, reorganize sost. So, check  Note 510969 - SAPoffice: Reorganization - Corrections and related notes.

  • BPM Alerts not sending email notifications

    Hello Experts,
    I've successfully configured BPM within SolMan and alerts are being generated but I'm not receiving any email notifications. In the setup of Business Process Monitoring, "Contacts" have been maintained within the Solution Directory as well as the notifications section of the monitoring type with a sender and a valid recipient address . Both yellow and red alerts are being generated but no email notifications are being sent. Thresholds have also been maintained.
    Researching other threads regarding this same issue points to tcode RZ20->SAP CCMS Technical Expert Monitors ->All Monitoring Contexts->BPM->Activate Maintanance Function-> and assiging Central auto reaction methods to MTE Class BPMRoot Context and the other BPM_APPMON_* MTE classes. Is there something that I am missing in order to have these alerts send email notifications when the alert threshold is reached?
    I also defined the new Central Auto Reaction method and maintained the parameters properly which calls FM DSWP_BPM_SEND_ALERT. Please assist as I have exhausted all options. Please provide a step by step guide to setup alert notifications if possible.

  • SharePoint 2013 alerts not sending emails to users

    Worked on this all day yesterday and to no avail.
    Followed up on every one of these fixes and they are all correct/have been run.

    I got a telnet session to work as well but still, no alerts are being sent to users when something changes. 
    I poked holes in the firewall, set up a receive connector in exchange server as well.
    In outbound email settings, I tried putting in the IP address and the server name (which both should work) but nothing happened. 
    Any suggestions anyone?

    Any error in Uls Logs?
    using the exchange server, are your server part of Exchange relay?

  • Why are my email alerts not being sent?

    My SP 2010 server is also the SMTP server and it works.  I can drop the email.txt file in the pickfolder and that gets squirted out as expected, and successfully received at the other end.
    But I simply can’t get email alerts from sharepoint to work.
    I’ve configured outgoing email settings in Central Admin and for the server name, have tried using the machine name, the FQDN for the server (part of a domain) and ip address.  All  no success.
    I also made sure the out going email settings in the General settings of the Web application are correct.
    The AD users all have correct email addresses and the profiles and AD records match.
    Alerts are allowed, have been set for discussion changes and show up under Manage my alerts but when I make a discussion entry or reply, nothing happens.
    Firewall is disabled and no AV software.
    What else can I dig into?

    have configured some alerts on grid control but even though I can see the metric thresholds being broken there are no emails being sent

    I am automating the process of sending appointment reminders to my clients. I started with an alert with an email in calendar using the clients email address as a custom entry in my me card in my contacts. this was resulting in three emails being sent with slightly different versions of the same address (see my previous post). Heating someone else's suggestion I created a workflow file to send an email and calling that file from an alert on my calendar. This is working and sends only one email to the client.
    My calendar is on I cloud and I access it from three different computers so I can keep my appointment calendar current. The files that send the email only exist on one computer. My other computers show error messages when those emails get sent. It seems that each computer wants to send the email. It's a small problem but is there a way that I could not get those alerts.
    But appreciate any thoughts about this. It seems like both problems might be related to the iCloud system.

    Good work, catch so far Michael, does seem to be a "feature" of iCloud syncing, not sure what you could do to disable it.

    Maybe I'm missing something but how can Verizon have control over your personal GMail account?  Sounds like you do have your email set up to forward to sms. 
    I have certain emails that are forwarded to me as SMS but that is an option that is enabled on the email side of things and is independent from Verizon.

    I have recently notice that old read emails are being removed from my inbox on my iPhone 6. They aren't in my trash, they just disappear.

    I do not want to download another virus program.. I do not believe it is a virus. I am running the full version of Norton 360 and it is doing a daily scan. I have Windows 7, 64 bit OS.

    When a follow-up business activity (e.g. sales visit) is created in CRM and assigned to another by the "person responsible" field, it triggers the following action in Outlook:
    u2022 Outlook recognizes that "created by" and "person responsible" are different
    u2022 This recognition triggers sending an email invitation for an appointment
    u2022Groupware presents / Outllok reads the "person responsible" to populate "from" Email field and "created by" to populate "to" Email field
    u2022Outlook Email invitation is received by creator of the assigned follow-up (confusing the user since they are naturally thinking that the person they made responsible for the follow-up would need to accept the assignment)
    How can I change how the email "from" and "to" are being handled by Groupware/Outlook ... in standard functionality?  ... In custom work?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    If you have a @me.com address, you can change the address you use to send email from using the drop down box in the from field in your email.
