Notifications to outlook ??

Hi All,
In my assignment , approver is approving or rejecting through a cusomized screen.Now I want to send some approve or reject notifications to outlook of all the agents involved in the process .
Can anyone please suggest how to take care of getting emails corresponding to users and sending notifications to outlook ...

To have e-mail notifications to be sent to outlook or anyother e-mail client, best possible approaches to be used are
1. Using report RSWUWML2
2. Using 'Extended Notification' functionality with Business Workflow - configurations using SWNCONFIG, SWNADMIN, SWN_SELSEN

However we can also achieve the same in a different way using 'Send Mail' step in Workflow. Again we can use any of the following
1. Identify the people ( Selected Agents ) who should receive the e-mail notification
2. Find out the e-mail address of the agent ( you can write a new method on your BO) , you can use BAPI_USER_GET_DETAIL , execute with userid as input and e-mail will come out in output table parameter ADDSMTP
3.Create a send mail step in your workflow like below
a. create a new task with reference to BO Method SELFITEM.SENDTASKDESCRIPTION
b.in the 'mail' tab of your send mail step select 'Receipient Type' as 'E-mail Address' , select 'Expressioon' and use the variable which has the 'e-mail adddress' found in the above step.
There is another simple approach with out finding the e-mail address, its like below
1. Create send mail step, select Recipient Type as 'Organizational Object' and you can choose any option 'User' / 'Position' based on requirement.
2. This actually send a document to SBWP
3. Now in user's SBWP Office Settings , go to 'Automatic Forwarding' , create an entry as 'e-mail address of the user' say ( [email protected]) and type as 'Internet Address'. You can also mention date from and to in which this option should be active. You can also set so that original document from SBWP can be removed once it is forwarded to mentioned e-mail address.
4. If some specific user do not want have e-mail notifications to be sent we can deactivate automatic forward option to him.
This works fine !!
However for above all, we should have SCOT configurations done correctly.

No new mail notification in Outlook - CAS Exchange RPC Client Access problem

Hi, we're facing this problem:
Users start complaining they suddenly don’t receive new mail notifications in Outlook (2010/2013) anymore
Inbox does not show the new mail either
When the user changes folders in outlook, the new mail does show in the Inbox folder
Restarting Outlook shows the new mail as well.
The same new e-mail arrives instantly (with notifications) in Owa and on mobile devices
Sometimes the new mail notification pops up after a longer period of time (from 30 seconds to 10 minutes). But more often not at all.
This issue seems to occur at random. We’ve been problem free for a week, and sometimes it comes back three times a day.
Clients running Outlook 2010, 2013 cached or online, on site and off site. So it seems server related, not client.
It was seen first around January 8th. We did not make any changes around that time that we can link to this problem.
Only one CAS server (EXCH1-RTD) shows this issue. CAS servers on other sites are ok
EXCH1-RTD has CAS and HUB transport roles. The same site has two mailbox only servers. EXCH2-RTD (mailbox server for normal mailboxes). And EXCH3-RTD (mailbox server for archive mailboxes)
No entries in the event logs that seems to be related
As the problem only occurs with Outlook clients, I suspected RPC issues. We cannot gracefully stop the “Microsoft Exchange RPC Client Access” service on EXCH1-RTD while the issue occurs. We
can only kill the process and restart the service, solving the issue instantly.
What we’ve tried until now:
Updated all Exchange servers from Exchange 2010 SP3 RU6 to RU8-v2 (server OS=W2K8R2)
Updated all Exchange servers to latest critical Windows updates
Recalculated requirements using MS Sizing tool. Upgraded EXCH1-RTD VM from 8GB and 2 vCPU (1 core/cpu) to 16GB
and 4vCPU (1 core/cpu)
Ran various perfmon counters and compared them with other Exchange servers, not finding any obvious anomalies.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Ron,
From your description, OWA works well, the issue is related to Outlook side. In your case, I recommend you use Outlook safe mode to determine whether the issue is related to add-ins. If the issue persists, you can create a new profile to check the result.

Getting double notifications for Outlook 2013 on Windows 8.1 pro

Hi,
I have Outlook 2013 installed on windows 8.1 pro 64bit. I am having an issue with outlook notifications, I am getting 2 notifications for each mail that I receive.
I tried searching for the issue and found that I have desktop alerts enabled in Outlook settings and also windows 8 notifications for outlook in PC settings. Both these options generate their own notifications, so I get 2 notifications for each mail.
When I turned off outlook notifications in PC settings, both the notifications stopped. Then I disabled desktop alerts from outlook settings and started getting only one notification.
The issue is that both these notification look a bit different, outlook desktop alerts also show sender's photo which I prefer and I also have some outlook rules configured to show desktop alerts for only certain mails. So I want the desktop alerts to continue
and stop standard windows 8 notifications for outlook.
Does anyone know how to do that?

Hi,
As far as I know, Outlook email notifications are only shown in Window 8.1 if notifications are enabled in both Outlook and Windows.
I suspect the rules are causing this double notification issue.
You may export all the rules for backup, then start Outlook with the switch "/cleanrules":
Win key + R, type "outlook.exe /cleanrules" in the blank box, press Enter.
Check if the issue persists.
If the issue is gone after running Outlook with "/cleanrules", then let's import these rules back to check the result.
If the issue is back again, please check if any rules trigger the notification twice, use "stop processing more rules" as you need to stop the emails triggering more than one rule.

Program to send Workflow Approval Notifications to Outlook (RSWUWFMLEC)

Hi,
We recently upgraded from SRM 4.0 to 7.0. We used RSWUWFMLEC to extract approval work items and send email notifications to Outlook. Can we use same RSWUWFMLEC or is there a different program/process for this in SRM 7.0. For some reason RSWUWFMLEC is not working for SRM 7.0 approval work items.

Configure UWL - notification to outlook - when task gets pushed to uwl

Hello Everyone,
We are looking into how to configure uwl so it sends a notification to outlook automatically (without any CO programming in GP) as soon as it receives a task in the list.
Our team is hold up on this task and trying to finish up during the weekend

I wanted to clarify. The steps we followed in the post mentioned above In GP how to get work items in outlook inbox, did work for the UWL tasks that were created within UWL. An email was sent to outlook. Thank you for that information.
It did not work for GP. We have found that even though GP creates a task in the UWL, it does not use the UWL's email configuration to send a notification. In order to achieve that, we have manually tested the GP Callable Object. Is this the only way?

Cant delete task notification in Outlook 2010

In my Office we use Outlook 2010 and I assign tasks to various people. When they accept the task I receive a notification however in the last few days I have received a few notifications that I can't delete. When I select the notification in
my Inbox it says "This item cannot be displayed in the Reading Pane. Open the item to read its contents" however if I try to open it I get "Cannot open this item. The attempted operation failed. An object could not be found."
If I try to delete the task notification I get "The attempted operation failed. An object could not be found.".
I've tried running the repair function but it didn't help. How can I fix this so it doesn't happen going forward and delete these email?

Hi,
The first thing you need to do is to make sure Outlook is fully patched.
Some anti-virus program may cause this issue, to verify that, please disable the firewall and anti-virus program, then start Outlook, check if the issue persists.
You can also run Outlook in Safe Mode to determine if it's 3rd-party add-ins related:
Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /safe” in the blank box, then press Enter.
If there’s no problem in Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which add-ins caused this issue.
Note For the steps above, I suggest you test with the new notifications.
You can also try the following and check if it helps:
Click on the File menu –> Options, navigate to Advanced tab and scrolled down to Send and receive section, then click on the Send/Receive button. In the ‘Send/Receive Groups’ window, click on Edit tab. In the
‘Send/Receive Settings’ window, click to select the email account under ‘Accounts’ and then click to select the ‘Download Complete Items’ option. Make sure the option “Download only headers for items larger then” is unchecked/not selected and click on Ok.

Email Notification as Outlook Reminder

Our Client uses Outlook as the email Client and wants to have reminders set on outlook automatically for trainings scheduled in OLM.
I would like to know if it is possible to send email notifications in a way that they would be considered as reminders on outlook.

I agree with you, otherwise, the mail is really just telling you the IDoc has been sent or in process with no information on the result.

Error in the notification to Outlook

Hello,
I am facing a problem in logging to SAP from the attachment in the notificaiton sent to the outlook. The notification is sent to outlook using the program RSWUWFML2.
The problem is that the client is not filled up by the system and so logon fails stating that the client is not available in the system.
Is there any way that I can fill the client automatically as there is no provision to input the client in the window displayed?

In the subject of email what is message you are getting. Is there a client mentioned? If it is could be GUI issue.
When I ran the program I got following message.
Your Workflow inbox in the SAP system DVS, client 100, contains the following work item:
No description
Open the SAP shortcut attachment in order to process the work item.
If you have any problems logging on, contact your system administrator.

Hello,
You can integrate your MS Outlook with SAP Office through SAP MAPI standards. but not in HTML format.
No need of coding. Just create one more email account in your outlook using the srever SAP MAPI Server option. It is done. It will take hardly 15 minutes to configure. The only requirement is you should have SAP GUI Longon pad indtalled in your system.
In this way you can integrate SAP Office with Outlook.

Lumia 610 doesn't display notification for Outlook...

Hello, My Lumia 610 doesn't display notification (unread messages) for outlook when the screen is locked. However it does display the notification such as missed calls, text messages, face book messages, Gmails, Yahoo emails, Windows live emails. But nothing for Outlook. Can some one please help. WIndows Phone 7.5 has a total of four positions where notifications can be shown on the lockscreen. If these are used further notifications are not shows. You can resolve this by clearing the existing notifications or link your inboxes which will result in the use of a single notification for new mail messages in any of the linked inboxes. Sending Notifications to Outlook from SAP !

I have configured in SWNCONFIG so that work item notifications are being sent to Outlook instead of SAP inbox.
In the same workflow I am sending Email notification to the user's Outlook email address.
Though the work item notifications are sent properly the Email notifications are sent to SAP inbox instead of Outlook.
I have checked the Mail Sy.grp in SO16 & it is maintained as "Send to home address"
What else am I supposed to do??

Delayed OoO notification in outlook client and OWA when Automatic Replies are scheduled.

So all of our users are having an issue with the OoO notice in outlook ("Automatic replies are turned on click here to turn off)
When they set a scheduled out of office that notice does not immediately show up at the scheduled time. Out of Office replies are sent but in outlook it does not notify them that their OoO is turned on for maybe 10-15 minutes. So lets say I set an automatic
reply for 11:00 AM I can be in outlook and the notice to turn them off does not show up for quite some time past 11:00.
This happens in office 2010 and 2013, cached and online mode, and it also happens (or I presume does not happen is the correct way to put it) in OWA (using Internet Explorer). If I send myself an email in outlook I see the notice that the recipient is OoO and
when I send the message sometimes the alert comes up. Other times it does not.
I found another discussion referencing this but there was no real answer, or at least the submitter did not respond to it as resolved or what they found to be the issue.

I have ran the CMDLET referenced in that article by James Xiong, "Test-WebServicesConnectivity -Verbose" and the results are below. The values seem pretty high but I do not know for sure what they should be.

It does happen in OWA.
We do have SP3 installed but we do not have the most recent rollup. We have version 14.03.0181.006 which is according to this article is Update Rollup 5 for Exchange Server 2010 SP3 Per this article, http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh135098(v=exchg.150).aspx
The server performance is certainly questionable, but we haven't gotten very far with upgrading or replacing it and I think something like this would certainly be something we could point to as an example of how the server performance is affecting business
and the delay it causes. But I was really hoping to get something I could use to definitively point to as evidence of it being a server performance problem. Would you, or anyone who reads this, be able to tell me what the results of that cmdlet indicate?

RSWUWFML2 -Notifications to outlook

I have scheduled a batch job for report 'RSWUWFML2' for every 15 min.
I have given the task #, job suffix, from creation date, time, one message per workitem, new workitems only. As per my variant this report should fetch workitems for given task for all users and send notifications.is it correct.
I already have a notifications regd a workitem 'X' in my outlook. For the subsequent runs am getting notifications for workitem 'X' & new workitems as well.
This is the way it works! Do i need to set anything to get recent notifications except workitem 'X',because i already notified for workitem 'X'.
I have selected 'execute workitem' so i should be able to execute workitem from my outlook link as well as from sap workplace.

Hi Morten,
I found an option for my case. The report 'RSWUWFML2' is using the function module SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 to send mails. One of the parameter we are passing is recipients refering the structure - (somlreci1).
In the program its defaulting the NOTIF_DEL,NOTIF_NDEL to 'X'. The report is sending mails and expecting return receipts as well. I copy this program uncheck these two parameters, should solve my problem.
